Americans are taught to speak up for Capitalism. Anyone who, especially a non-citizen, speaks negatively of Capitalism should be challenged and vilified.
As I have stated in previous articles, it has been said that capitalism cannot thrive without greed. Greed is a sin. Success in capitalism is rooted in sin. Loving money is the root of all evils. (1Timothy 6:10).
Evil is associated with Shai'tan. His goal is to prey on our emotions to get us to fall from Allah's grace. "Satan threatens you with poverty and orders you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing." (Holy Qur'an 2:268).
This is why some people have no shame about selling an umbrella for $10 when it is bright and sunny and for $20 during heavy rain. No one would feel good about a friend treating us this way.
Economics teachers tell us about supply and demand, where an item's price is based on a population's feelings about it. This means the pricing is purely based on human emotion rather than the item itself! Emotions drive capitalism. Businesses prey on how we feel about the items they sell and create marketing campaigns to that effect.
Preying on the consumer's emotions is demonstrated on Black Friday - the biggest money-making event of the year! Black Friday is the day after "Thanksgiving," and it marks the start of the Christmas shopping season. People have been stampeded during these Christmas rushes, which begin after midnight. There have been fist fights, particularly over a limited supply of toys. If the item is limited in supply, then the price is increased, sometimes dramatically. But as long as there is no demand for an item, then the price remains low.
Because of greed, prices can be "artificially" driven up, such as during the forced government shutdown in 2020 due to COVID-19. As a result of people being forced to stay home and stores being closed, the price of toilet paper went up to $1000 on Amazon, which implemented measures to stop such outrageous price gouging. Another example is food prices. Grass-fed beef, the proper diet for cattle, is more expensive than cattle raised on corn. Why? Because these cows are healthier. The desire for grass-fed has led the meat industry to increase the price. Food has become a luxury.
The way to avoid these capitalist traps is to use the intellect or common sense Allah gave us. "Verily, the vilest of all creatures in the sight of God are those deaf, those dumb ones who do not use their intellect." (Holy Quran 8:22). This means we must be logical and act in spite of our impulses. Rash decisions cause regret, including what is known as Buyer's Remorse.
As Muslims, we are required to empower ourselves as a community and become independent, especially financially independent. But there will be instances where it is required of us to speak against evildoers.
According to the @MoreThanPerfectUnion YouTube Channel, a Jewish couple owns a large supply of California's water as a result of secret meetings held over twenty years ago. Lynda and Stewart Resnick are California's biggest farmers. It's said they own four farms, each being the size of San Francisco! As of 2023, California residents only get 5% of what they have requested from the state of California. The Resnicks also own the Pom Juice, Pistachios, and Halo tangerine brands.
The Resnicks are worth $8 billion, and this has helped them buy politicians, such as late friend Senator Diane Feinstein, who legislated for them. It was in 1994 that a secret meeting involving politicians and private company owners created the Monterrey Docs, which gave control and water-usage consideration to private companies. California water banks were created to provide water to residents in times of drought. These water banks cost $100s of millions to create. Now, the Resnicks own 60% of them! When residents need water, California now pays them for access! How bassackwards and corrupt is this business relationship?
If this type of corruption happened anywhere else in the world, there would have been a coup d'état! The Resnicks own The Wonderful Company, which is an umbrella corporation that owns all of their products. I don't buy any of them! If you research "The Wonderful Company," it should tell you what products are listed.
Capitalism is an interest-based economic system that has done more to harm Americans than help. These greedy profiteers want us to believe that capitalism can be turned into something good by combining greed with a cause: Green Capitalism (environmentalism) or Philanthrocapitalism (i.e., investing in social programs for a profit). Capitalism is rooted in greed, which has led to government and society's corruption.
A God-centered economic system is the only way to combat greed. The Shari'ah (Holy Qur'an + Authentic Hadiths) guides a prosperous Islamic lifestyle, and there is no timestamp on Allah's message. Prosperity can be abundance in other ways, not just financial. Having an abundant mindset is a blessing. Shai'tan thrives off of the mentality of lack. Marketing campaigns and the media encourage us to focus on what we don't have rather than what we do have. We also focus on what we want rather than being grateful that our needs have been met.
Capitalism creates greed in all of us. Most importantly, capitalism creates a dissatisfied existence.

LGBTQ+ Protest Against Turkiye
LGBTQ+ protesters, including Turkish members, protested outside the Turkish Embassy in Manhattan against the Turkish government's raid against gay and HIV organizations. Dozens were detained, including people who protested against the raids in Istanbul. The raids took place in multiple cities.
According to the Turkish justice minister, operation "My Family is Safe" is meant to protect children, families, and public order. It is a part of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's broader plan to combat a decreasing population. Erdogan believes the LGBTQ+ community is a threat to the traditional family.
Turkish protesters who spoke did not reveal their last names. Nur A. stated that, "Unfortunately, in Turkey, the queer community is an easy scapegoat."
At the New York protest, a consulate worker removed one of the protesters' signs. However, NYPD Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch pledged the NYPD's effort to work with protesters and protect their First Amendment rights. I hope this is extended to those protesting against Israel's occupation of Palestine. Commissioner Tisch added that there would be no tolerance for destruction of property, violence, or breaking the law.
Next week, world leaders, including President Erdogan, will convene at the United Nations. It is estimated that there will be over 55 protests next week to greet world leaders, including our own, Mr. Trump.

'The Soul {Nafs نَفْس } Is Like A Wild Horse'{!}
'And by the Soul and HE who proportioned it'.
Transliteration...
'Faalhamaha fujooraha wataqwaha.'
Translation...
'And inspired it [with discernment of ] its wickedness
and its righteousness'.
Transliteration...
' Qad aflaha man zakkaha'.
Translation...
'he has succeeded who purifies it'.
Transliteration...
'Waqad khaba man dassaha'.
Translation...
'And he has failed who instills it with corruption'.
When someone possesses a horse, on which they depend for their livelihood and transportation,
it becomes imperative that the horse be tamed
so as to display the utmost obedience.
If this horse is, at first, wild then its owner
would try to control it through any means,
by jumping on it, pulling its reins, tying it, etc.
If this person is successful at gaining
control of the horse...
then the horse will obey their every command.
However, if this person leaves their horse
untamed, it will remain wild and disobedient!
Such is the parable of the Soul~{'Nafs'}.
The 'Nafs' [Soul] must be trained
regarding its inclinations.
The internal struggle that every Muslim faces is
when one has a conflicting goal with their 'Nafs'!
In other words...
your 'Nafs' wants one thing and your
'Iman' (Faith) causes you to want another thing.
Overcoming the inclinations of your 'Nafs' is
a difficult and sometimes painful process.
Like the person who tames his horse,
one must endure through the difficulty
and struggles in order to gain control.
It is important to remain steadfast in the process;
because if one was to give up after receiving the
slightest resistance, this trains the horse that
all it needs to do is remain stubborn in order
to get what it wants...{!}
Thus, giving in to the demands of the 'Nafs' makes the process of taming your 'Nafs' even harder {!}
Instead, one must abide by the principle
of delayed gratification.
Delayed Gratification.
Putting off some pleasure in order to have
greater gratification at a later point.
{Alhamdullilah}
For Example...
you struggle against your 'Nafs'
{which may want to sleep or rest} in order to
pray 'Qiyam' (قيام ){the night prayer}
At first this is difficult, but in time
a routine is built.
Eventually, the reward you receive from
Allah {Azawajal }
outweighs any discomfort you may have faced!
And the Mercy of Allah is that He continues to
make this process easier as time goes on,
and then your reward increases even further {!}
A Little word of Caution...
The longer we wait to tame our soul,
the harder the process will be.
Purification of the soul is like a bitter pill !
At first you hate it- because it causes you pain,
tastes bad, etc. but you tolerate it.
Then, as its positive effects begin to show
you begin to like it...then you begin to love it.
Until finally...you cannot live without it...!!!
