Why is Palestine Most Important?
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD
Palestine is the central issue to the Muslim world. Kashmir,
Sinkiang, Africa, the middle east, Chechnya, are all very
important but nothing is comparable to Palestine.
Palestine has been occupied by force and within it is Masjid
al-Aqsa, the most sacred mosque in Islam, after Makka and
Madina.
At this time iran, Turkey and Qatar are helping Palestine
but only marginally and none are able to militarily oppose
Israel. The Palestinian people are squeezed into Gaza and
the West Bank along with refugee camps in Lebanon.
Military resistance by Gaza and political resistance by the
helpless government in the West Bank makes Palestine a
reality.
Israel is steadily eroding Palestine.
America uses Israel in a variety of ways and wants to keep
its influence in the Muslim by claiming that it wants to
give Palestinians their human rights.
The Arab world has kept alive the pretense that it supports
Palestine and Muslim masses will not allow Palestine to be
destroyed. Al-Aqsa masjid is for Muslims and is under the
control of Jordan.

JI on Pakistan Day
Pakistan was meant to Lead the Muslim world.
by Qaiser Sharif
Lahore: August 13: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has
appealed to the nation to support the JI in its efforts to
build Pakistan as per the dreams of the country's founding
fathers and millions of Muslims of the region who rendered
countless sacrifices for the creation of independent state
75 years ago.
The JI emir, who will be hoisting the national flag at
Mansoorah on Sunday morning, said this while addressing the
Majlise Shura of JI central Punjab chapter here on
Saturday.
Terming Pakistan as a part of paradise and saying it was
created to lead the Muslim world, he vowed to defend the
ideological and geographical boundaries of the country
against the enemies of Pakistan and Islam. "We will defend
this homeland at the cost of our lives."
He said Allah Almighty blessed Pakistan with best
combination of weathers, natural resources, talented youth
and a nuclear status.
But, he regretted, the rulers of the country never utilized
this richness for the benefit of the people. Rather, he
said, the ruling class looted the country and stashed their
wealth in foreign accounts and shell companies.
"Pakistan fell into the hands of secular and corrupt rulers
soon after the demise of the Quaid-e-Azam," he said, adding
the people should send the feudal lords and waderas to home
with the power of their vote. He said the country needed
rule of law and strong and impartial justice system.
The corruption, he said, was the biggest evil and there was
need to eradicate it from roots. Only JI could transform
Pakistan into corruption free welfare Islamic state, as
visioned by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (RA) and Allama
Muhammad Iqbal (RA), he said.
Sirajul Haq said the future of Pakistan was bright and was
linked with Islam. He said that those who wanted Pakistan to
be secular state would never succeed. He said that after the
state of Madina, Pakistan was the first state that came into
being in the name of Islam. On occasion he expressed full
support to Kashmir cause, saying the JI and the entire
nation will continue moral and diplomatic support of
Kashmiri brethren and sisters in their struggle for freedom
from India.
He said the PML-N, the PPP and the PTI divided the nation
for their self-interest. The prevailing polarization posed
serious danger and the nation must shun their differences
for strong Pakistan, he said.

Invitation to Think
From his speech.
Remembering Dr. Shabazz.
Why Education in America is in Serious Decline.
Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz, the philosopher of Lincoln
University and Jamaat al-Muslimeen, carried out a deep and
far reaching analysis of the malaise in the American
education system owing to which highly educated Americans
from Ivy League universities express grossly inadequate
views on the realities of the Muslim world and Africa.
Education, however expensive or exclusive, does not help
Americans because it is undercut by concepts damaging to
humanity and decency, Dr. Shabazz said.
The horrors we have seen perpetrated in Iraq and Afghanistan
and more recently in Gaza are rooted in the racism,
arrogance of power and materialism of America's elites, he
said.

44 dead, 15 of them being children
Dear Friend,
At least 44 Palestinians have been killed in the escalation,
among them 15 children, according to information from the
Palestinian Ministry of Health.
Many homes and buildings were destroyed in the airstrikes,
leaving thousands stranded without access to food, clean
water, medicine, and other essentials.
With at least 350 injured and hospitals and medical clinics
suffering from shortages, Gaza is in desperate need of
humanitarian assistance.
{from Dr. Abed Ayoub]
Dear Kaukab --
Israeli forces agreed to a ceasefire late Sunday night,
after 16 Palestinian children in Gaza had been killed. Then,
Israeli forces shot and killed two 16-year-old Palestinian
boys in the occupied West Bank barely more than a day later.
Hussein Jamal Hussein Taha, 16, was shot and killed by
Israeli forces while shopping for groceries with his father
and younger brother in Nablus on Tuesday morning. A few
hours later in Hebron, 16-year-old Momen Yasin Mohammad
Joude Jaber was shot dead with a live round to the chest
with by an Israeli soldier.
These killings come just hours after a brutal Israeli
military offensive on the Gaza Strip that resulted in the
deaths of 16 Palestinian children ranging in age from three
to 16 years old. Despite agreeing to a ceasefire, the
killings have not stopped.

Salman Rushdie . Very Brief Background
Under cover of a pornographic novel,
Rushdie blasphemed the prophet, pbuh, ridiculed the Qur'an,
insulted Ayesha, r.a. and Umm Salama, r,a.
The western powers supported him.
Muslim world was helpless till Imam Khomeini gave the fatwa
against him.
Rushdie Stabbed
{ He has revived]
{USA Today]
August 12
CHAUTAUQUA, N.Y. - Salman Rushdie, best selling author whose
writing led to death threats, was attacked Friday as he was
about to give a lecture at the Chautauqua Institution in
western New York, suffering stab wounds to the neck and
abdomen.
Rushdie's agent, Andrew Wylie of The Wylie Agency, said the
writer was on a ventilator Friday evening, with a damaged
liver, severed nerves in an arm and an eye he was likely to
lose.
New York police said a state trooper assigned to the event
took a suspect into custody after the attack. In a Friday
afternoon press conference, the suspect was identified as
Hadi Matar, a 24-year-old from Fairview, New Jersey,
according to New York State Police Major Eugene Staniszewsk.
Officials did not "have any indication of a motivation at
this time," said Staniszewsk, adding charges against Matar
have not been filed yet as officials work with the District
Attorney office to review evidence and monitor Rushdie's
condition.
Earlier Friday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a
statement that Rushdie "is an individual who has spent
decades speaking truth to power. Someone who's been out
there unafraid despite the threats that have followed him
his entire adult life, it seems."
Travis Seward, general manager for at USA TODAY, was at the
event. He witnessed a man "bound" toward the stage from the
audience with his "arms out swinging." Seward said that he
did not hear the man shout anything and that Rushdie tried
to get away from the attacker and fell.
"It's really unsettling to everybody here," Seward said.
"It's a peaceful place and it was unexpected."
Rushdie was taken to a hospital by helicopter, police said,
and the "interviewer suffered a minor head injury."
Staniszewsk said the interviewer had been treated and
released from the hospital.
Reactions to thr Attack
Suspect Matar and his family hails from the south Lebanon
town of Yaroun, said its Mayor Ali Tehfe. Tehfe said Matar's
parents emigrated to the United States and Matar was born
and raised there.
When asked if Matar or his parents were affiliated with or
supported Hezbollah, Tehfe said he had "no information at
all" on the political views of the parents or Matar as they
lived abroad.
But in Iran's capital, some willing to speak to The
Associated Press offered praise for the assault targeting a
writer they believe tarnished the Islamic faith with his
1988 book. In the streets of Tehran, images of the late
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini still peer down at
passers-by.
"I don't know Salman Rushdie but I am happy to hear that he
was attacked since he insulted Islam," said Reza Amiri, a
27-year-old deliveryman. "This is the fate for anybody who
insults sanctities."
At newsstands on Saturday, front-page headlines offered
their own takes on the attack. The hardline Vatan-e Emrouz's
main story covered what it described as, "A knife in the
neck of Salman Rushdie." The reformist newspaper Etemad's
headline asked: "Salman Rushdie in neighbourhood of
death?" 'A thousand bravos'
Several Iranian newspapers poured praise on Saturday on the
person who attacked and seriously wounded Rushdie.
The hardline Kayhan newspaper, whose editor-in-chief is
appointed by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
wrote, "A thousand bravos ... to the brave and dutiful
person who attacked the apostate and evil Salman Rushdie in
New York. The hand of the man who tore the neck of God's
enemy must be kissed."
Khomeini issued the decree on Rushdie in 1989. It came amid
a violent uproar in the Muslim world over his novel, which
some viewed as blasphemously making suggestions about the
Prophet Muhammad's life.
While such edicts can be revised or revoked, Iran's current
supreme leader, who took over after Khomeini died, has never
done so.
