On May 21 I was invited to a meeting of a group known as the
Spirit of Mandela. It is led by Br. JIhad Abdul Mumit and
Dr. Aisha Muhammad. I have had friendly contacts with Br.
Abdul Mumit over the decades and this was a great chance to
talk to him by zoom.
This group and we all are celebrating the release of
Sundiata Acoli, a Black Panther leader. The Spirit of
Mandela has brought serious charges against the US regardng
its treatment of Black people and people of color. It
instituted a tribunal which brought a 5 point verdict
against the US for crimes against humanity.

Sundiata Acoli:

The New Jersey Supreme Court correctly upheld the law today,
granting the release of 85-year-old Sundiata Acoli after
serving more than 49 years in prison. The Supreme Court
ruled that the parole board unlawfully denied Mr. Acoli's
petition for release by claiming that he was a risk to
public safety and noted that he has shown no substantial
risk of recidivism or a risk to public safety.

parole, Acoli will commit a crime. Acoli must be released

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed
Bajwa on Wednesday conferred military awards to Army
personnel for their acts of gallantry during operations and
meritorious services rendered to the nation. The GHQ
Investiture ceremony was held at General Headquarters (GHQ)
Rawalpindi, said an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR)
media release.
Families of Shuhada (martyrs) have also attended the
ceremony. As many as 48 officers were awarded
Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military). Seven officers, three Junior
Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and 30 Soldiers were awarded
Tamgha-i-Basalat. The medals of Shuhada were received by
their family members. A large number of senior Army officers
and families of award recipients attended the ceremony.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued a formal
notification for the inclusion of Khatm-i-Nabuwwat oath in
Nikah Nama (marriage certificate).
According to a handout issued here on Wednesday, the
Secretary of Local Government and Community Development had
made an amendment in Punjab Muslim family rules after
approval from Law department and Parliamentary Affairs.
After this decision, it would be mandatory for Muslim
couples to make a solemn pledge of Khatm-i-Nabuwwat at the
time of 'Nikah'.

Iran's elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says
one of its officers has been assassinated in the capital
Tehran by gunmen riding on two motorcycles, according to the
state news agency IRNA.
Al Jazeera's Ali Hashem said that the IRGC issued a
statement on Sunday saying Hassan Sayyad Khodayari was
assassinated by enemies of the revolution. He said that
Khodayari was a member of the Quds Force (which is
responsible for the IRGC's foreign operations) and that he
served in Syria in past years.
The IRGC, the ideological arm of Iran's military, identified
Khodayari as a colonel.
Khodayari was killed by five bullets as he returned home
near Mojahedin-e-Islam Street at about 4pm (11:30 GMT),
according to the IRNA.
The agency published pictures showing a man slumped over in
the driver's seat of a car, with blood around the collar of
his blue shirt and on his upper right arm.
The state agency described him as a "defender of the
sanctuary" - a term used to describe anyone who works on
behalf of Iran in Syria or Iraq.

NEW YORK (AP) — A man fatally shot another man in the
chest on a moving New York City subway train Sunday, police
said. No one else was wounded.
The shooting came shortly before noon on a Q train that was
traveling over the Manhattan Bridge, police said. The
48-year-old victim died at a hospital.
At a briefing, Chief of Department Kenneth Corey told
reporters the shooting appeared be a random attack, which
occurred while the victim was seated in the last car of the
train heading from Brooklyn into Manhattan.
"According to witnesses, the suspect was walking back and
forth in the same train car and without provocation, pulled
out a gun and fired it at the victim at close range," the
chief said.
The shooter fled after the train arrived at the Canal Street
station in Manhattan. Police were reviewing security video
to try to identify him, Corey said.
Recent subway crime has set New Yorkers on edge. A man
opened fire inside a Brooklyn subway train last month,
wounding 10 people. The alleged shooter faces terrorism and
other charges. In January, a woman was pushed to her death
in front of a subway train by a stranger.
Since taking office Jan. 1, Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat,
has made cracking down on violent crime a chief focus of his
administration.
The former New York City police captain rode the subway to
City Hall on his first day as mayor. He later said he didn't
feel safe on the train after encountering a yelling
passenger and several homeless people, and said the city
needs to tackle "actual crime" and "the perception of
crime."
Most of the violence the city has experienced in recent
months has not been in the subways but in neighborhoods,
particularly in communities of color. But attacks on the
subway, a vital network millions of New Yorkers rely upon,
loom large in public perceptions of safety.

Palestinians slam US removal of radical Jewish group from terror blacklist
GAZA CITY, Palestine
Palestinians have condemned a US decision to remove radical
Jewish group Kach from the list of terror organizations.
On Friday, the US Department of State removed five extremist
groups from its list of foreign terrorist organizations,
including Kach movement.
In a statement, the Ramallah-based Palestinian Authority
(PA) termed the US decision as a "reward for the operatives
of this terrorist organization."
"The actions of the US administration contradict with its
words and don't fit with its commitments to peace and
stability," the statement said.
The PA went on to call on the US administration to reverse
the move and take a "historic decision to remove the PLO
(Palestine Liberation Organization) from its list of
terrorist organizations."
Hamas group, which rules the Gaza Strip, said the Kach group
was responsible for dozens of terrorist attacks against
Palestinians.
The US decision "reflects its double-standard policy and the
US inadequacy to be a fair mediator in the
Palestinian-Israeli conflict," Hamas leader Basem Naim said
in a statement.
The Kach movement is classified as a terrorist group by the
European Union and Israel itself, where its founder Meir
Kahane was banned from participating in the elections in
1988.

technology. It continues to do billions of dollars of
business with China.
