The sub-narrator added: Ibn 'Umar used to say, "If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death."

OSUN STATE MUSLIMS TO VOTE AGAINST ANTI-ISLAM GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE

by
Abdul Kabir Oyemomi

Muslim Community in Osun State has threatened to order its members to vote against any candidate who threatens the right of Muslims to education and the usage of hijab in public schools and institutions.

Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, President of the Osun State Muslim Community.

The President, Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi, issued the threat in Osogbo at a press conference to mark the commencement of one-week activities of the Hijrah (Islamic New Year) celebration.

Olawuyi was apparently responding to one of the governorship candidates who has promised to return the public schools to the missionaries if elected governor in the Sept. 22 poll.

"One of them has been using 'return of schools to missionaries as one of his campaign promises. We are aware that this is a gimmick to swindle the public.

"You can't return the property that belongs to all of us to a mission just because such schools bear mission names.

"We are all aware of massive investments of public fund in these schools after it had been taken over soon after independence with full compensation.

"We have told him to forget it. Even if he has a pact with any group, it won't fly. Any politician that tries it will regret it.

"Again, this is a backdoor approach to banish hijab from public schools. We have seen hate and lack of religious tolerance displayed in the Adeleke University Ede and the Bowen University in Iwo.

"As the majority group in Osun, we will not fold our hands and allow that happen in our schools. It will be resisted with full force.

"We just fought for hijab for three years, so anyone who intends to mitigate our rights or oppress us should forget his ambition to become a governor in this state.

"In Osun State, we are aware of our rights and we have an enlightened populace," Olawuyi said.

The president commended Governor Rauf Aregbesola's administration for being fair to all religions and urged whoever wanted to establish mission or private schools to do so since there was no restriction from the government.

"We commend Governor Aregbesola's thoughtfulness for declaring Hijrah Holiday to mark the event. This is equity and fair play in action.

"If our Christian Brothers could get 52 Sundays in a year as holiday and the Seventh Day Adventist has 52 Saturdays in a year, it will not be out of place for Muslims who are in the majority to have just a day to mark such an important event."

The president stressed that Hijrah holiday has come to stay and urged the Federal Government and other states to emulate Osun by declaring the Hijrah day a free day.

Speaking on the theme for the Hijrah 1440 A.H. Good Governance, Procedure and Processes: Islamic Perspective, Olawuyi called for a free, fair, transparent and credible election that is devoid of violence and malpractices.

While calling on the electorates to visit any INEC offices for the collection of their Permanent Voter Cards, Olawuyi urged citizens to shun vote buying and vote for the best as well as God-fearing candidates, even as he urged security agencies to ensure the coming election is free, fair, credible, and peaceful.

The president who spoke on the significance of Hijrah said the topic for the Hijrah Colloquium would be: Election Malpractices: Causes, Effects and Islamic Solutions.

"Hijrah celebration is to move people from what is bad to what is good and to also obey the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Prophet.

"Islamic calendar begins with one of the most iconic events in history - Prophet Muhammad's Hijrah - (emigration) from Makkah to Madina to set up a new social order some 1435 years ago.

"Islam is the only religion with Allah. It is the religion of Truth and in line with His promise, it shall overcome all other religions.

"So the Prophet had to migrate to establish the everlasting religion"

Egyptian Myths are used to Divert Attention from the Truth of Islam.

by Sis. Aisha
[Jamaat al-Muslimeen]

Tonight I had a very "deep" conversation (debate) with some brothers from my class. The teacher believes that all religion came from the Ancient Egyptians. He relayed the story of Osiris and Isis and how she became pregnant with his baby, Horus, after Osiris was murdered. He said the Christians got the Immaculate Conception from them.

There is another brother who believes the Sumerians had an even more developed civilization than the Egyptians but, they came from out of space. I got little caught up with some Street Corner Philosophers. But, I maintained that I was not threatened by science because the Qur'an is a science book but, God the Creator is responsible for all creation no matter how advanced or intelligent they become.

Then, I remembered Surah Kaafiruun. I was not trying to convince them of anything but, it is easy to think that way. Masha'allah.

Negotiating Team.
It Was A Mistake To Have Negotiated With Israel At All.
by Diana Buttu

"Buoyed by the Oslo Accords, I moved to the West Bank as a legal adviser to the PLO team. I was wrong. 25 years since that iconic Arafat-Rabin handshake, it's clear talks are futile - and Palestinians are no closer to freedom"

September 13, 2018
By Diana Buttu

"Information Clearing House" - Twenty-five years ago this month, on the White House lawn, the lives of a generation of Palestinians changed forever when the late Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, shook hands with Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. That handshake marked the start of the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, with promises of a new era of peace, freedom and prosperity.

25 years later, Palestinians are no closer to freedom, as Israel has further entrenched, rather than lessened, its now 51-year military occupation.

Like countless others at the time, I was optimistic that the negotiations would finally lead to Palestinian liberty as promised and based on this, I decided to move to the West Bank to work as a legal advisor to the Palestinian negotiating team. During that period, I met with countless diplomats, worked on scores of proposals and even began a house-to-house campaign to speak to Israelis about ending Israel's military rule.

But while I and others worked to end occupation others worked to entrench it, including the Israeli government and its settlers: within the first seven years after the negotiations began, Israel used incentives to nearly double its settler population. Today, the settler population is more than three times the size it was in 1993, with nearly 700,000 settlers living in the West Bank.

Back in 1993, settlements were, for the most part, confined to hilltops, with Israeli settlers considered to be fringe. Far from being ostracized, today, some Israel's largest cities are settlements, settlers have taken over homes in the heart of Palestinian towns and settlers command positions on the Israeli cabinet and on the Supreme Court. In short, settlers are the norm, not the exception. Today, Israeli settlers speak openly about annexing the West Bank or expelling Palestinians.

I am often asked why the negotiations process failed. It is easy to point to the rise of right-wing Israeli governments, poor leadership or weak or uninterested U.S. presidents. But the real reason for failure lie beyond these factors.
It is because the parties should not have started negotiating in the first place.

To demand that Palestinians - living under Israeli military rule - negotiate with their occupier and oppressor is akin to demanding that a hostage negotiate with their hostage taker. It is repugnant that the world demands that Palestinians negotiate their freedom, while Israel continues to steal Palestinian land. Instead, Israel should have faced sanctions for continuing to deny Palestinians their freedom while building illegal settlements.

Twenty-five years later, rather than living the joys of freedom, we mark each day, by thinking about how to maneuver the maze of Israel's more than 500 checkpoints, put in place to accommodate Israeli settlements, just to be able to get to work or to school. A 25 year-old in the West Bank has likely never been able to visit the sea - a few miles away - while a 25 year-old in Gaza has never been able to leave the Gaza Strip, to visit friends and family in the West Bank and Jerusalem or even abroad.

It isn't just movement of people that is affected. Palestinians have not been able to take advantage of technological progress for "security reasons" for example, as cancer treatment advances throughout the world, Palestinian hospitals are barred from acquiring radiation equipment. Even our postal system remains hostage to Israel's whims.

But, rather than recognize the mistake of negotiations, the world continues to demand that we continue the facade even though negotiations irrevocably broke down more than a decade ago. The negotiations process has, in effect, served as cover for the world to do nothing - while giving Israel the cover to build and expand settlements.

If peace is to be achieved, it must entail costs - and this time, not shouldered by the Palestinians. Rather, Israel must receive the strong message, the first in its history, that settlements will no longer be tolerated but rather reversed, and that Palestinians must be free.

I am under no illusions that the Trump Administration will put into place such sanctions. While previous administrations tried to maintain a semblance that they were helping "both sides," Trump has come decidedly in support of Israel's right-wing pro-settler movement.

Whether by declaring Jerusalem as Israel's capital or by attempting to extinguish the right of return, President Trump has shown that his "deal of the century" will undoubtedly accommodate Israeli settlements, take away Palestinian rights and reward Israeli wrongs. The closure of the PLO office in Washington D.C. this week is yet another check on Israel's wish list.

For Israel and its supporters, the past 25 years have been a victory. With Trump at the helm, Israel's settlers are at an all-time high, Palestinians are confined to bantustans and the U.S. is cracking down on Palestinians for demanding their freedom.

But this short-term fix has long-term implications. While Oslo changed the lives of a generation of Palestinians, this generation and the next have certainly learned its lessons: that negotiating is futile, and that our rights cannot be compromised. With this, it is only a matter of time before we begin struggling for equal rights in a single state, rather than press for statehood.

Re-Emergence of Islam, after the Destruction of Baghdad, by scholars in India and Arabia

by Kaukab Siddique, PhD

Immeditely after the destruction of Baghdad in 1258 by the mongols,
the Islamic response for victory came from Ibn Taymiyyah.
The indirect influence on all revolutionary scholars specially in the analysis of Islamic texts came from Ibn Taymiyyah, 1263-1328.

Here I am only looking at India and Arabia.

The re-emergence of Islam as a transformational power began as a challenge to British hegemony in India, Hindu-Sikh militancy in what is now Pakistan, and decadent prevalence of tribal-Turkish rule and Shi'ite sectarianism in Arabia and Iraq.

Iqbal taught Muslims to focus on Muhammad, pbuh, as the leader of the ummah. Pakistan exists today owing to his globalistic intellect.

He attacked western power, capitalism, sufiism and obscurantism.

Shah Waliullah, 1703-1762, took on the task of unravelling the diversion created by religious scholasticism. Syed Ahmed [Shaheed ] 1786-1831, Shah Ismail Dehlavi, 1779-1831 and their companions met head on Sikh-Hindu fanaticism in northwestern india [now Pakistan] . Jihad became a relevant concept again.

Westernizing education and the details of British exceptionalism were attacked by Maulana Maudoodi. Syed Qutb undertook that task in Egypt and the Arab world.

The greatest reformer of them all was Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab 1703-1792. He pointed out that the teachings of Shiism and aspects of sufiism amount to kufr. We should try to live according to the Qur'an and authentic hadith and not seek intercession from the dead. The struggle is today and the guidance is in the living texts of Allah's final revelation, the Qur'an and Allah's final messenger and prophet, Muhammad, pbuh.

In response to this process of Islamic renaissance, the British, the Shi'ites and Sufis, the Zionists and now all the western powers combined have popularized a negative term "wahhabi." To conceal the re-emergence of authentic Islam, the attempt has been made to create the impression that those who strictly follow the Qur'an and the authentic hadith are a new sect called "wahhabism." The Zionists have tried to make "wahhabi": a term of abuse almost like the "N" word for Black people.

A favorite tactic of the abusers is to link the current rulers of Arabia, the Saudis, with "wahhabis." It is a bogus tactic like blaming Mohomed Ali Jinnah for the chaos in Pakistan, or Imam Khomeini for the sectarianism of Iran, or George Washington for the imperialism of America.

In fact the teachings of Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab were an attempt to link Muslims with the original Islam of Muhammad, pbuh, as seen in the Qur'an and in the authentic hadith of Muhammad, pbuh, and in the ijma [consensus], of his Companions, the sahabah who are extolled in the Qur'an 9:100.

What was Imam Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab trying to do which has enraged the groups attacking him? He wanted Muslims to KNOW the real Islam in its own texts. Here is what he taught, in his own words:

"You [may Allah have mercy on you], have to know that we are obliged to learn four issues:

Knowledge: It means true cognition of Allah, His Prophet and the DEEN of Islam though their evidences.

Acting according to this knowledge.

To propagate it.

Patience in enduring the injurious difficulties of knowledge and its exigencies.

The evidence for these points is the statement of Exalted Allah:

'In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. By the declining day. Surely mankind is in a state of loss, except those believe and do good works and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to endurance,' [103:1-3]

About this Quranic text, al-Shafai, Allah's mercy be on him, commented: 'If Allah had revealed only this sura as irrefutable demonstration to His creation, it would be adequate enough to convince them.'

Al-Bukhari, may Allah's mercy be on him, said with the same emphasis, 'Knowledge must precede both statement and action.'

The evidence for for this is the statement of Exalted Allah:

"So KNOW ye that there is no God save Allah and ask forgiveness for thy sin.' [47:19]

In this verse, Allah started with the word KNOW before statement and action."

Mass Wedding Arranged by Islamic Movement

Mass Wedding Arranged by Islamic Movement to help the needy.
by Qaiser Sharif

LAHORE, Sep. 13: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that different decisions of the government were adding to the problems of the people. He was speaking at the mass weddings ceremony of the JI welfare body Al-Khidmat Foundation at Peshawar.

Sirajul Haq said that several new taxes had been proposed in the review budget which included five per cent raise in the regulatory duty and Rs. 4 raise in the electricity tariff. He said the raise in the prices at this speed would soon make the life of the common miserable.

He said the PTI's government's top priority should be to retrieve the plundered wealth from abroad. Besides, he said, the government had promised austerity to save money. However, he said, austerity seemed to be nowhere as the army of ministers proved the otherwise. The JI chief advised the government not to become a tax collecting machine. He deplored that so far, the government had not initiated any action against the 436 persons named in the Panama leaks.

Sirajul Haq said that in the State of Madina, the rulers were always worried about the welfare of the citizens. He said that the past governments had been collecting taxes from the public and spending on their luxurious living and it the present government also seemed to be following the same path.

He said that the present economic system was based on exploitation and it had nothing to do with public welfare. He said there was need to collect taxes from the wealthy and spend on the wellbeing of the poor.
The JI chief congratulated the Al-khidmat Foundation for arranging mass weddings of fifty couples with limited means and he himself solemnized their Nikah.

Sirajul Haq said there was no shortage of resources in Pakistan but unfortunately, the country did not get an honest leadership so far. He said that huge foreign loans had been misappropriated as nobody knew where these had been spent.

Iran has successfully infiltrated the Regime but is Unpopular.

In an indepth report on ISIS, the prominent research enginne, The Intercept has come up with this conclusion:

"Though ISIS has lost the bulk of the 22,000 square miles of territory it held at the peak of its reign in Iraq, a recent U.S. government report estimates that a staggering 15,500 to 17,100 ISIS fighters have survived in Iraq alone. These fighters, thought by observers to be leaderless since their defeat in Mosul, are now regrouping amid a gradual reconstitution of ISIS's command and control structure.

"The pattern of attacks is growing increasingly sophisticated," Cafarella told The Intercept. "We are watching a spread from an initial very small sort of isolated pockets of ISIS presence after the fall of Mosul to an attack campaign that is consistent with a rehabilitated command and control structure." Imam Hasan in Ohio prison targeted but Sustained by his faith.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Silenced prisoner leader demands conduct report repeal

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Imam Siddique Abdullah Hasan, a revolutionary organizer and outspoken advocate of the national prisoner rights movement has appealed the Ohio Department of Correction (ODRC) decision that restricted him from communication access for a year of more leading up to the Agust 21- September 9 nationwide prison strike.

In his appeal Imam Hasan states: "The fabricated charges in my conduct report, the procedural errors in my SMP [Serious Misconduct Panel] hearing, and the dirty games played by all parties involved are so egregious and a violation of my due process rights... that not even returning my case to a new SMP for a rehearing will cure and correct the violations of applicable procedures and the vindictiveness shown toward my person."

The most serious of the four rules violations contained in Hasan's conduct report of July 27 were "Rioting, or encouraging others to riot" and "Engaging in or encouraging a group demonstration or work stoppage" these charges are based primarily on an outside supporter mailing him an endorsement of the strike written by the Fire Inside collective.

Imam Hasan did not request or receive the document because it was intercepted by mailroom staff, yet the SMP convicted him, adding on a fifth ad hoc violation during the SMP: "Violation of other policy... Inmate Sanders is also acting as a leader and spokesperson."

ODRC Bureau of Classification Chief Brian Wittrup is the charging official in Hasan's conduct report, and also the ultimate authority deciding Hasan's fate. To rectify this clear due process conflict, Wittrup stated that he "did not wish to have input into the disciplinary proceedings." At the actual hearing though, he responded to and critiqued Hasan's testimony repeatedly and without request from the panel, in violation of ODRC policy.

Other due process violations included providing the SMP with evidence not contained in the conduct report and not available for Hasan's review prior to the hearing as well as blocking Hasan's witnesses from testifying at the hearing citing "relevancy, unavailability and security reasons".

"I was named in the conduct report," said Ben Turk, who sent Hasan the offending material, "so I'm relevant. I called both the prison and central office to ask when or how I would be allowed to testify, so I was available. They must think merely letting me speak to the panel on the phone would compromise their security."

Hasan's appeal, and the conduct report are available online at IncarceratedWorkers.org and LucasvilleAmnesty.org. Since the conduct report on July 27, Hasan has had his phone and email access blocked, his property severely restricted, and his cell door barricaded to prevent other prisoners from communicating with him through it.

The Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee (IWOC) has organized a phone zap to the Ohio State Penitentiary (OSP) on Thursday September 13 to demand reprieve of these restrictions.

The ODRC has until September 27 to reply to Hasan's appeal. Supporters hope that Wittrup will be satisfied with having silenced Hasan during the nationwide strike and will not try to defend and uphold this sloppy, violation-ridden SMP decision.

"If not, we're looking into a civil lawsuit, because this is a clear infringement on both Hasan and my first amendment rights," Turk stated.

According to a recent statement by Greg Curry, a friend of Hasan's also held at OSP, the repression against Hasan and others actually sparked a work stoppage in late July and at least one block of prisoners maintained a commissary boycott throughout the period of the strike.

Thought....

 Invitation to Think

The Struggle of a Hijabi Muslimah in a world of Struggle and Darkness.
by Raabia Ahmad [Atlanta, Georgia]

I have been on the path to healing emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually since 2009 when I had my first kundalini awakening (spiritual awakening). This awakening ripped off the lense with which I had seen myself, the world and God. It put me in a place where I truly began to see and understand that there was so much more to life then I had over known.

Suddenly I began to question all I had been taught growing up in an American ego based society and all that I believed to be true. The false ways that had been thrust upon me since birth and that I had been clinging on to, screamed at me and urged me to take a closer look at it all. To take a closer look at myself and most of all to examine my beliefs about God.

I had been taught about God and knew so much about him, but at the age of 25, I couldn't say that I truly had a connection with the divine. A series of events showed me God in ways that I had never experienced him before. I was taught lessons about God by being forced to be alone even while being surrounded by people. God showed me that I had to learn to talk to him to rely on him and break the attachments and codependencies that I had with people that were getting in the way of me putting my full trust and reliance in him.

I was plunged into the darkest parts of myself, parts that needed to be deeply examined faced and healed. It's heen a long and arduous road. One filled with triumphs, illuminations, setbacks and darkness. There are days when I want to give up, days when I cry and days when I rejoice in the mere fact that God chose me to walk this walk and to help others who may be struggling and searching for truth in a world filled with so much darkness.

Still the light overpowers. Those whose eyes are fully open see the design and magnificence of God in EVERYTHING. This struggle has shown me that I possess a resilience and ability to bounce back time after time after time and for all of this I thank God. I am no where near finished. Walking the path has taught me that there will be some days spent wandering in the wilderness, and it keeps me humble in praying that when I go off track, God in his infinite mercy reroutes me back to him.

So I chose the path. I use my voice, I write down the truth even when it's hard to look at because God is truth and God and his divine law are the answers to ALL that ails us. Time and time again, I chose the path back to God. The path one walks where they must shed all the parts of themselves that hold them back from living their best divine selves and from seeing God all around them, and in their heart the only place God can exist in his fullest extent. Chose the path. Chose the light, chose the awakening chose the cleansing. It's the place where light is, where true life begins....the first step on the eternal path to God.

'Muharram' is the first month of the Hijri calendar and is one of the Four sacred months concerning which....
ALLAH {Azza wa Jall } says in the 'Qur'aan':
'Surely the number of months with Allah is Twelve months in Allah's ordinance since the day when He created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred; that is the right reckoning; therefore be not unjust to yourselves regarding them'.
[Source: 'Qur'aan' ~Surat At-Taubah ~ 9~ Verse # 36]

'Muharram' is one of the four sacred Months out of twelve.
The others being...Zul-Qa'dah, Zul-Hijjah, and Rajab
These four months have been sacred since the creation of universe.
ALLAH {Azza wa Jall } says in the 'Qur'aan'....
'Muharram' is a sacred month because Allah made it sacred along with three other months and told us about it in the 'Qur'aan'.
Prophet Muhammad {may peace be upon him} informed us about the
Four sacred months in the following narration:
'The year is of Twelve months, out of which Four {4} months are sacred:
Three {3} are in succession ..
