Mosques in Lagos

Mosques in Lagos vary in terms of members of congregation
based on their creeds,philosophy, and, sometimes,
tribes.
The central mosque of Lagos can be said to have combination
of all Muslims as congregation, especially on jummah days.
This is because central mosque of Lagos is lying and
situating at the centre of business in the city of
Lagos.
Other mosques have their members of congregation along the
divides of creed and associations. For instance, you have a
lot of members of tableeqh in a mosque run by them or a
mosque that has an Imam who does not condemn their act of
'outing'; four month, six months, weeks, etc. Members of
tableeqh are found mostly in area called Oluti in Lagos.
Infact , their mosque in Oluti is seen by many as Jamatu
Tableeqh headquarters.
Another congregation with undoubtedly largest congregation
is a group called' The Muslim Congress'(TMC). Members of TMC
will prefer a mosque where the sermon or admonition is
channeled towards the need of Muslim brothers to participate
in politics. TMC has many mosques controlled by its
leadership in Lagos and environs. The ukhtba from this group
is uniform because the opinions and submissions of its
leaders are always sacrosanct and prevail on all members
regardless of their Islamic knowledge. Divergent views are
rare! TMC's watchword is taking position of leadership by
Muslim brothers, no matter what.
Other types are those who are firm upon the understanding of
pious predecessors, however archaic or obsolete it may seem
to many. These Muslims are reffered to as 'salafi'. These
Muslims are keen about creed of Imam while choosing mosque.
They do not have a known members of congregation but you
find almost all of them with knowledge of Islam in all
areas: Fiqh, Ilm l Hadeeth, and above all they are so strict
when issue bothers on aqeedah or what can generally be
termed creed. A Salafi knows what an Imam is up to even at
the opening part of his khutba. You hardly find Salafis pray
behind a known suffi or Imam known as soothsayer.
Shia in western Nigeria(especially Lagos) are always on
disguise! They will never want to be identified as Shia and
as a result, no known Mosque in Lagos can be ascribed to
them. They mix with other Muslims for prayers; these Muslims
are popular in the Northen Nigeria, though.
Nigerian Muslims love putting on their best attires on
Fridays, mostly on Babaringa for men, while women are mostly
on their full hijab known as khimar and Burkha.

Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen in Baltimore. The attendance was
good. A Pakistani brother donated large containers of
tomatoes. The masjid gave them to a brother who volunteers
at an outlet in the city which feeds the hungry. Believe it
or not there are many people in America who do not have the
money to buy food. That is capitalism.

One of the greatest teachers of Islam is Ibn Taymiyyah
second only to the sahaba and the tabbain [who followed the
sahaba].
Ibn Taymiyya's times were somewhat like ours. He was born
in 611 hijri and died in 728 hijri. The Mongols had
destroyed Baghdad, Like the Russians did in Afghanistan and
are doing today, the Mongols were slaughtering entire Muslim
populations. From the West, the crusaders were threatening
the Muslim ummah, like America is doing today.
Most dangerously, within the Muslim populations, sects
had become so strong that they were inviting Muslims to
accept their deviant dogmas. Again look at our world where
sects and deviations are rampant in the Muslim world. These
sectarians were cooperating with the Mongols and the
crusaders to undermine the Islamic resistance.
Look at the sects in America with strange teachings that
God came down in the shape of a human or that "Yaqub" is
somewhere up there or "Ahmeddis" are Muslims. Then there are
national divisions among Muslim immigrants. They are so
divided that they cannot even dare to speak against Israel
or the bombing and occupation of Muslim countries.
Again Ibn Taymiyyah is relevant. He not only spoke and
wrote against sects and worship at graves of "saints" he
actually fought against the invaders, both Mongols and
crusaders.
The Zionist propaganda machine in America has encouraged
weak and deviant Muslims to attack Hadith. There can be no
Islam without hadith, never has been and never will be. The
Zionists know that many easy going Muslims do not study
hadith and will easily be influenced by attacks on hadith,
specially if these attacks are carried out by people with
Muslim names.
Study of the struggle of Ibn Taymiyya is very valuable
because he used hadith to demolish the superstitions and
deviations of sectarians, mystics and hostile outsiders. His
scholarship has few equals even today.
Part 2
Islam is based on the Qur'an and the authentic hadith.
Views of scholars and saints are not part of Islam.
Interpretation may be helpful but in itself it should not be
confused with Islamic texts.
Sects are forbidden in Islam. Attempts to claim
prophethood after the last Prophet, Muhammad, pbuh, are
absolutely not allowed.
Prayers to dead people however pious they may have been,
asking them to ask Allah to give us what we want is a deadly
sin called SHIRK in Islam
Islam is very straightforward. Pray 5 times a day as
taught by the prophet, pbuh, and call on Allah, ask Allah
for what you want or need. No one other than Allah can
fulfil our prayers and there is no sacred text giving anyone
the right to fulfil prayers.
Sects are supported by imperialist, kafir, powers to
divide the Ummah of Islam and to subvert the teachings of
Islam.
Today the teachings of the Qur'an and hadith are
reverberating around the globe owing to the teachings of Ibn
Taymiyya, built upon by Usman dan Fodio and the Sokoto and
Sudan caliphate, Muhammad ibn Abdel Wahhab, Allama Iqbal,
Syed Qutb, Maulana Maudoodi [and countless others].
The Ummah of Islam is one Ummah, from Morocco to the
Philippines, from Afghanistan to Nigeria. America's Muslims
rightfully belong to the global Ummah [as Malcolm X found
out]. Let's not become a sect in this country.
Muslim women are central to the Muslim community. This
masjid was established by and is being run by a Muslim
woman. We must bring our wives, mothers, daughters, sisters,
nieces to the masjid. Remember that the first supporter of
the Prophet, pbuh, was a woman, Khadija, r.a., and his
supporter even to the end, in whose lap he died, was a
woman, Ayesha, r.a.
du'a: Ya Allah help us to study the Qur'an and Hadith. Give
us spouses and children who will stand with us for Islam.

LAHORE, Apr. 26; Deputy Chief of the Jamaat e Islami,
Asadullah Bhutto, a former MNA, has said that if the
Qadyanis accepted themselves as non-Muslims, nobody would
object to that and their rights as a minority would be fully
protected.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the Human Rights
Commission of Pakistan at a local hotel, he said that nobody
had hatred or bias against the Ahmedis or Qadyanis provided
they did not claim to be Muslims, introduced themselves as
non- Muslim minority and did not term their worship place as
mosque.
He said the JI and its chief Senator Sirajul Haq had always
raised their voice for the rights of the minorities and the
JI chief called the minorities as the Pakistani community.
The JI had the representatives of all the minorities in the
country in its fold. The JI had full respect for the
minorities including the Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, and
their worship places and had always talked of their
religious freedom.
He said that on coming to power, the JI would take every
possible step to end the sense of discrimination among the
minorities and enable them to lead respectable lives

Ongoing battles in southern Damascus after Record number of
Russian air strikes. . Russians trying new tactic. Bombing &
shelling by Iranians/Hizb across Syria. Assassins active in
Idlib province. US air force launching new air strikes.
April 16 to April 22. After round the clock air strikes by
Russia, barrel bombs by Assad, long range artillery by
Iran/Hizb, elite Shia forces advanced and captured five
building. in the Kadam area. ISIS counterattacked and drove
them out.
Shia forces also sent in tanks and ground forces into
Yarmouk camp, Hajr Aswad, Tadomoan and other areas of South
Damascus. There were serious losses on both sides. All the
areas of southern Damascus captured by Islamic fighters of
ISIS remain in their hands. The Russians have expressed
humiliation that the regime could not capture southern
Damascus despite highest number of air strikes in the
war.
ISIS is also trying terror tactics. Five of Assad's troops
were captured and beheaded in public. Russia then declared
dismay at the inability of the regime to win.
Russia then urged the small opposition 'reconciled" groups
located on the outskirts of Damascus to attack ISIS
positions, They did and after a grim all day battle, they
retreated and ISIS seems to have advanced into their
areas.
Now Russia is urging the "reconciled" opposition groups to
allow regime forces into their positions to outflank Islamic
State fighters or leave for other parts of Syria. There is a
deadlock now and regime forces are threatening to take the
positions of the "reconciled" groups by force to outflank
ISIS.
SOHR [Syrian Observatory for Human Rights] has confirmed the
beheading of the five Assad troops and issued these
statistics for the clashes between the regime and ISIS [not
including the battle with the "reconciled" groups.].
Regime forces: 85 killed several hundred wounded [wounded
not counted]
ISIS : 74 killed, wounded not known,
Meanwhile large Shia reinforcements are being brought in to
finish ISIS once and for all.
Clashes are also reported from Deir ez Zor province
between:
SDF Kurds against Regime forces.
Regime forces against ISIS.
ISIS against SDF.

Assad's Russian, Iranian and Hizb allies are bombing and
shelling north of Homs, various parts of Idlib province and
in various parts of Daraa province.
Clashes between al-Nusra and regime are reported from
Lattakia province.
Mujahideen groups in the countryside of Hama are in control
of their towns. Regime bombing failed here.
Assad's assassination agents have entered Idlib province and
THIRTY assassinations of mujahideen commanders are
reported.
US air force is bombing ISIS in extreme south eastern Deir
ez Zor to stop it from consolidating its hold on Bokamal and
surrounding areas.
Turkey is handing over Kurdish properties in Afrin area to
refugees from the Ghouta suburbs of Damascus .
Jaysh Khalid ibn al-Waleed [allied to Islamic State] has
repulsed attacks by pro-West groups. An Iranian force is
moving towards them [This segment is near Israeli occupied
Golan Heights.]

what protects from destruction."
And it is reported that 'Alee رضي
الله عنه said
that
the Prophet صلى
الله عليه
و سلم said:
"The Qur'aan is the strong Rope of Allaah and it is the Wise
Remembrance and it is the Straight Path.
And it is what the tongue cannot deviate from.
And no matter how much it is repeated it cannot be worn out
(by being read too much) and the 'Ulamaa' (scholars) do not
get enough of it."
