Hadith of the Week
Narrated Abu Darda, r.a., from the Prophet, pbuh:
"The superiority of the learned man over the pious one is
like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over
the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the
Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham,
leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an
abundant portion."

Q & A [Re: New Trend Oct. 22]
Muta
Salaam
If muta was such a bad thing why was it allowed in the first
place?
Salaam
Shoaib
Answer by Kaukab Siddique.:
Mut'a or temporary marriage was widespread in pagan Arabia
along with many other oppressive practices which degraded
women.
Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, outlawed muta' but because it was
widespread, it took two phases of banning for it to be
stamped out.
One was at the battle against the Jews of Khyber and the
other against the pagans at the conquest of Makka also known
as the campaign of Awtas.
"Ali, r.a., narrates that temporary marriage [mut'a] was
prohibited by the Prophet, pbuh, at Khyber ...." Hadith in
the collections of Bukhari, Muslim, Muwatta of Malik, Sunan
of Nasai, Tirmizi and ibn Maja]
Similarly, according to Arab custom, it was permitted at
Awtas but then:
"Subra Juhni, r.a., narrates that the messenger of Allah,
pbuh, said Mut'a was permitted to you but now Allah Almighty
has declared it forbidden [haram] for all time to come till
the Day of Judgement." [Hadith collected by Muslim, Abu
Dawud, Nasai, ibn Maja and Ahmad ibn Hanbal.
Mut'a is considered valid by the Shi'a sect because of a
twisted interprtetation of a verse in the Qur'an. Mut'a is a
form of prostitution carried out under the cover of
religion. Women are sexually used.

PAKISTAN
{Pakistani elections require large sums of money and plenty
of corruption. Hence Jamaate Islami does very poorly in
elections. The reality is that JI has lots of support but
little money and no corruption...[Kaukab Siddique])
Jamaate Islami shows it has support even in Lahore, Nawaz
Sharif's Stronghold.
by Ameer al-Azeem & Qaiser Sharif
LAHORE, Oct. 22; Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator
Sirajul Haq, has stressed that the elections must be held on
time and the process of accountability should also be
continued alongside.
Addressing a large gathering at the JI's Azme Nau Convention
at Wahdat road on Sunday, he said that delaying the polls
would plunge the country into a serious crisis.
Sirajul Haq said that the nation was not satisfied with the
accountability of Nawaz Sharif alone and wanted
accountability of all those named in the Panama leaks.
He said that the masses were looking forward to the NAB and
if the present NAB Chairman also adopted the attitude of his
predecessors, the masses would besiege the rulers and nobody
would be able to stop a revolution.
He said that the JI would gather one lakh youth at the lawns
of the Minar e Pakistan on 23rd of March next year.
The JI chief said that Nawaz Sharif government had acquired
1480 billion dollars loans during the last four years but
the roads of the Punjab capital looked like ruins of
Mohenjo-Daro. He said Nawaz Sharif had been Prime Minister
thrice but he had adopted dictatorial attitude and ruined
the democratic institutions, and now he was fighting for
selfish ends under the cover of protest over the court
decision.
He said there was no room for the agents of the
international establishment and US agents in the country and
added that either they would have to return the plundered
wealth or flee from the country. He said the country had
been run by a gang of selfish people who were not ready to
come out of their self and look towards the masses.
He said that once again, efforts were being made to
establish family rule in the country. He said that the
country's politics revolved around individuals and families
and that was why institutions were weak.
The JI chief said the ousted Prime Minister was claiming
that he was fighting for the sanctity of the vote whereas he
was actually fighting for himself. He said these were the
rulers who had allowed CIA agent Raymond Davis to return
home although he had killed three innocent persons in the
city. He said that corruption and Safarish were the gifts of
the Nawaz Sharif and Zardari.
He said that the Sharif family had been in power for the
last 35 years but the people of Lahore did not get even
clean drinking water. The plight of the government hospitals
was so pitiable that even the women patients and women in
labour were not admitted there.
Speaking on the occasion, JI Secretary General Liaqat
Baloch, said that the large gathering at the convention
proved that the JI was alive in the city and it represented
people in all walks of life. He said that the mandate of the
Lahorites had been stolen in every election.
He said it had been established by now that the corrupt and
incompetent people representing the Punjab capital only
brought bad name to the city. He said that the JI alone had
the capability and the will to bring about a change and it
was the responsibility of the Lahorites to obstruct the
election of the thieves and those working against the
country's ideology to the corridors of power.
The JI Punjab chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed, speaking on the
occasion, said that JI had been serving the people of the
country both inside the assemblies and outside

Syria
Two towns in Southeast Syria Captured. Ferocious Battles in
Deir ez Zor. Russian Air Strikes all over Syria.
Raqqa took Heavy toll of Kurdish Communists [SDF]. Bigger
Turkish Armored Column. Hama in Turmoil.
Raqqa, the original capital of the Caliphate was destroyed
in five months of bombing by the US air force. It is a huge
pile of rubble. However SOHR indicates that the SDF troops
who had to enter and "liberate" Raqqa paid a heavy price:
660 troops killed including 6 officers. The final core of Is
could not be defeated and finally were given a deal to leave
Raqqa peacefully with their families and weapons. They have
now reached Idlib province and are receiving rough
treatment.
On the last day of fighting in Raqqa, Jack Holmes, a British
officer commanding YPG was killed by an IS sniper.
Latest: October 29: A large Assad armored column which was
trying to reach Bokamal on the Iraqi border is now in full
retreat after repeated counterattacks by IS. Today SOHR
reports that IS captured the town of Mahkhan following its
capture of al-Quriya yesterday.
Iraqi news is reporting that Mayadeine itself was
re-captured by IS on October 24. The Assad army had captured
it on October 14. [Strangely enough SOHR has not confirmed
this news]. Iraqi News quoted Loaa Adel reporting Qasioun
News.
Fighting north of Hama indicates a tangle of forces. On
October 25 Tahrir al-Sham [al-Nusra] fought IS and pushed
them back. Also Assad's forces fought IS and pushed it way
back with a plethora of Russian air strikes. [Russian air
strikes continued non-stop on October 26 and 27].
On October 27 and 28, Tahrir al-Sham [al-Nusra] attacked
Assad's forces and forced them to retreat. In pitched
battles between Assad forces and Tahrir mujahideen, 23
regime troops and 41 Tahrir were killed.
Damascus area clashes are continuing . In the Jobar and Ein
Terma sector regime troops clashed with Rahman Corp
mujahideen and were repulsed. Then the regime fired 15
ground-to-ground missiles at Rahman Corp.
In the South Damascus area, the regime dropped 50 barrel
bombs to stop mujahideen advance into the city.
IS has captured the entire, vast, Yarmouk camp which abuts
Damascus but is opposed not only by regime troops but also
by opposition fighters who have a cease fire with the
regime.
In Homs province, Russian forces have captured the oil wells
and in northeast Hasakeh province, US Special forces have
captured an oil well.
Assassins sent by the regime are killing Tahrir [Islamic]
leaders in Idlib province. 5 leaders have been murdered.
Deir ez Zor is a divided city and ferocious battles are
going on within the city between Islamic State and
Russian-Hizb-Shia troops.
Libya
New Battle
On October 25, Islamic State fighters attacked an army post
60 miles south of Adjabiya, in rhe desert, killing 10
soldiers and capturing their vehicles and weapons. The post
was destroyed.
Libya is suffering extreme water shortage.
Somalia
Another big Bombing.
On October 27,
a bomb blew up a hotel in Mogadishu owned by a minister in
the western-installed regime.
In the gun battle which followed
23 police officers were killed and 30 wounded along with 4
Islamic fighters.
Al Shabab have taken responsibility.
Over a month, the US air force carried out 30 strikes
against al-Shabab.
[This follows a huge bombing earlier which destroyed the
entire government secretariat.]
Egypt
Death toll Rises Drastically in ISIS Attack
The mujahideen attack on Egyptian security forces west of
Cairo [which New Trend reported last week] has caused havoc
in the Egyptian forces.
The death toll has risen to 50, as reported by associated
press, and may be even higher.
The dead included three generals and 22 officers.
General Sissi is in a state of shock and has fired several
ministers and numerous generals.

Explosive Fact-finding Investigation of Pehlu Khan's murder
shows high-level Police cover up of murderers
Renowned Human Rights Defenders and Activists weigh in on
the path towards justice
October 28 2017
IAMC is pleased to have been an active supporter of the
momentous fact-finding investigation of the gruesome mob
lynching of dairy farmer, Pehlu Khan, and the subsequent
cover-up by Rajasthan police. The investigation's report was
endorsed by IAMC and several human rights organizations in
India, US and UK and is making waves in India for its
shocking expose of police complicity in cow terrorism. The
report's release was the culminated of a four-month
investigation by independent journalist Ajit Sahi. During
the press conference organized at the Press Club of India in
the nation's capital New Delhi, human rights defenders and
activists referred to the report's findings as a watershed
moment in the struggle to bring Pehlu's killers to justice.
The report highlights the role played by the Rajasthan
Police in systematically sabotaging the case against the
perpetrators of Pehlu's cold-blooded murder and facilitating
their "exoneration." The report is a powerful declaration by
human rights defenders that the pursuit of justice will not
be deterred. Widespread coverage of the report and the press
conference has again brought Pehlu's brutal killing, and the
subsequent cover-up by the Rajasthan police back into the
national conversation in India.
The report has exposed blatant acts by the Rajasthan police
and government institutions that has led to an intentional
miscarriage of justice, with the killers not being arrested
despite six of them being named in Pehlu's "dying
declaration."
The report and its impact on mainstream discourse in India
has given a boost to Indian civil society as well as the
Indian Muslim community to stay the course in demanding
justice and equality before the law within the framework of
the Constitution of India. Additionally, it has encouraged
all in the pursuit of justice to push forward with other
cases of lynching such as those perpetrated against Hafiz
Junaid and Mohammed Akhlaq.
The press conference with India's top human rights advocates
exposed the high level coordination and strategy used by cow
vigilantes (gau rakshaks). It also demonstrated complicity
between criminals and fanatics and individuals at the
highest levels of state law enforcement machinery.
The press conference and the ensuing social media campaign
following the report's release has put Indian Muslim issues
on the global radar and influenced mainstream discourse in a
positive direction. IAMC remains committed to the struggle
for peace, pluralism and justice.
Khutba to 800 in Greensboro, NC
The Building blocks of unity. The three essentials of
Civilization. Speaking to Arab Americans.
On October 27 Dr. Kaukab Siddique gave khutbas to the two
juma prayers held at Greensboro, North Carolina's Islamic
Center of the Triad.
There were more than 800 Muslims in the two khutbas. Most of
them were from Sudan, Somalia, Palestine, Yemen, Iraq. Egypt
and Pakistan. They were very appreciative of Br. Kaukab's
khutbas. Here is an outline of the main points of the
khutbas for distribution on the Internet.
Civilization is built in Islam on the Mosque, the school
and the family.
The Book, the Sunnah and the Seerah as enshrined and
realized in the mosque is the bedrock of our existence.
Unity cannot be achieved without this foundation. Without it
we are 50 powerless statelets.
Education without values does not lead anywhere. We
should be seeking knowledge, searching for the truth,
through scientific and humanistic means. Without seeking
beyond what we have, our civilization is stagnant.
The family is as important as the mosque and the school.
We must select spouses on the basis of their
Allah-consciousness and political awareness. If women are
left out of equal participation in the ummah, we lose half
out ummah and are defeated even before the struggle
begins.
We live in America but many of us behave as if we are
still living in the countries we came from. We don't try to
understand the problems of America. We either become
assimilated or ghettoized. We are meant to be witnesses to
the truth, not part of the problems.
America has a history of slavery and extinction of Native
people. Try to study how this history impacts everyday life.
Racism is very deep in this culture and Muslims may well be
absorbing this negative culture.
Women are being exploited, mistreated and
objectified.
Notice how immigrants from Mexico and central America are
being targeted.
Our new generations will be lost if we do not oppose and
fight back against messages coming to our children from the
media. Many here have legalized homosex . Porno literature
is a multi billion dollar industry.
A popular culture has taken over America all the way
from New York to Los Angeles.
If we do not investigate and rebut this culture, our
children will become defenders of this culture.
The researchers of this power structure have divided
Muslims into: fundamentalists, extremists and terrorists.
This is the narrative of the opponents of Islam. Our
narrative is self-determination, independent Islamic
movements and tolerance without being subjugated.
There is a place in Islam for every nationality but
Islamic values must always be put first, above nationality,
race and tribalism.
