Hadith of the Week

Extra Prayers [Nafl] can Make up for What we Missed.
[From Sis. Yasmin]

PROPHET~ (Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said... "The first thing among their deeds for which the people will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be Prayer {!}
Our Lord will say to His angels, although He knows best, 'Look at My slave's prayer, is it complete or lacking ?'
If it is complete, it will be recorded as complete, but if it is lacking...
He will say, 'Look and see whether my slave did any voluntary ('Naafil') prayers.'
If he had done voluntary prayers, He will say, 'Complete the obligatory prayers of My slave from his voluntary prayers.'
Then the rest of his deeds will be examined in a similar manner."

Ghamidi's Views on Maulana Maudoodi.
He suffers from Total Misunderstanding of Maudoodi's Writings.

by Kaukab Siddique, PhD

Javed Ahmed Ghamidi has attained fame in Pakistan and in Muslim audiences in the West. His narrative fits neatly into the global campaign against "extremism" though that is not part of my discourse today.

Ghamidi has issued a series of well considered critiques of the writings and thoughts of Syed 'Abul 'Ala Maudoodi. I was under the impression that this must be a devastating critique to have achieved extensive fame or notoriety. I have studied just about all that Maudoodi wrote and am disappointed in the critique Ghamidi has issued.

Here is the link to his first statement on Maudoodi.
YouTube.com/watch?v=fiNKw_oV4jw

He begins on shaky ground by claiming that what a prophet says can get blown away ["payghambar jo kahe ga hawa may tahlil ho jaye ga"] here and there, but the scripture that is written down is more effective.

This off the cuff kind of statement by Ghamidi indicates his carelessness about the devotion of the sahaba, r.a., [Companions of the Prophet, pbuh] to each word he said and their efforts to retain and memorize what he said. This statement alone would disqualify Ghamidi as a scholar of Islam.

Even more egregious is Ghamidi's claim that the Qur'an was sent in writing. After all his years of study, Ghamidi, still does not know that the Qur'an was not given to the Prophet, pbuh, in writing:

The Qur'an uses the term RECITE in various forms, such as YATLU, TATLU, ATLU, YATALA. The role of the Prophet's, pbuh, hadith, is best defined thus in Sura 2 verse 151:

"Allah has conferred a great favor on the believers, sending among them a messenger from among themselves, who RECITES [YATLU] unto them the Signs of Allah, and purifies them and INSTRUCTS them in the Book and Wisdom."
The whole process was verbal, not in writing:
"Do not move your tongue concerning the Qur'an to make haste therewith. It is for us to collect it [in your heart], so you may recite it [quranu'hu], and when We have recited it, follow its recital [quranuhu] Nay, more, it is for US to expound it [through your tongue." [75:16-19]
The Prophet, pbuh, was not carrying a written Book around with him. It was all verbal and became WRITING when the Sahaba, r.a., wrote it down and memorized it. [These were the people whom Ghamidi accuses of picking up hearsay.]

After these two initial disasters, Ghamidi goes into a long winded critique [or complaint] against Maudoodi that Maudoodi changed the entire direction of the DEEN by emphasizing the externals. Ghamidi has in mind the activities of jamaate Islami, the protests, the demonstrations, the political statements, the emphasis on law and procedure , the development of Islamic Law and Constitution.

This is again a total misunderstanding by Ghamidi. He forgot the CONTEXT of the political activities of Maudoodi and Jamaate Islami. In my thirty years of teaching at an American liberal arts college, I have helped generations of students to realize that CONTEXT is essential to understanding World Literature, the Development of the Novel, the rise of Black Journalism and even Shakespeare.

The CONTEXT of Maulana Maudoodi's movement was that Muslims were enmeshed in the INNER spiritual life. The mystical experiences connected to prayer, the INNER meaning of the Qur'an, the KUSHAF of the Sufis, the miracles of saints, the use of metaphors and poetic language were the staple of religion..

Those who got western education soon left the religious people behind and were well funded, installed in power, praised and rewarded by the British.

The idea that Islam as a way of life is superior to the ways of the west was not even whispered [except by Iqbal]. Muslims openly claimed that the ideas of an Islamic State, Islamic Law and Constitution, were absurd. Jihad against the British became unthinkable. Mirza Qadiani and Sir Syed proclaimed the greatness and supremacy of the British Raj.

In that CONTEXT, Maulana Maudoodi taught that Islam is a COMPLETE WAY of life and to leave politics and economics out of it would undermine the power of Islam. With the emergence of Pakistan, the necessity to apply Islam to modern situations became paramount.

That does not mean that Maudoodi changed the Islamic narrative from spiritual and internal to external and secular. There is hardly any writing of Maudoodi which does not place the spiritual, INNER, aspect of Islam uppermost. How could Ghamidi have missed it.! Even a random search of Maudoodi's teachings indicates that the inner, spiritual, being is primary. Without the inner spiritual power, the external ability to STAND AGAINST STATE POWER would be impossible.

Think of Maudoodi after being sentenced to death, awaiting his execution, with the thread taken out of his pyjamas, thinking of the blessings Allah had given him and the importance of prayer. Think of his students recently executed in Bangladesh who were only thinking of the INNER life as they were taken to the gallows.

Here is a quote from the tafseer Maulana Maudoodi wrote on al-Shams, chapter 91 of the Qur'an:

"In the first part of Sura Shams, [till verse 10], three teachings are explained. One is that just like the sun and the moon, day and night, the earth and the heavens are different from each other and apparently contradictory in their impressions and results, similarly good and evil are different and contradictory to each other in their impressions and results. Neither their appearance nor their consequences can be similar.

Secondly, Allah Almighty has not simply left the human being unaware after giving him the powers of the body and the mind but through a natural intuition has given the human being a sense in his sub conscious of good and evil, distinction between right and wrong and the realization that good is good and evil is evil.

Thirdly, that the future of the human being depends on what he does with the distinctions between intention and decision which Allah has placed within him and whether he uses these to either enhance his good tendencies or to suppress them. If he enhances his good tendencies, and purifies himself of the evil tendencies, he will be successful. If he does the opposite, and suppresses the good in him and emphasizes the evil in him, he will be a failure. "

 Outreach

Jamaat al-Muslimeen Activity on Eid Day.

8-Page Document given to 350 Muslims at Masjid Rahma [West Baltimore].
Three serious errors made in Eid Khutba.

On July 6, Eid day, a large crowd gathered at masjid Rahma [known as ISB] in West Baltimore. So many people came that the Eid salat was held three times. Most of the people were immigrants from Pakistan and India with numerous small groups from African and Arab countries plus a few African Americans. There were huge traffic jams but the masjid volunteers handled the situation well, including shuttle buses from nearby Security Mall to the masjid.

The main thrust of the Eid khutba was good on Muslim unity but the khateeb made some serious errors. The executive committee should advise the khateeb.

These were the major errors:

  1. The khateeb claimed that whenever the majority of Muslims begin Ramadan, that is the correct day for Ramadan and whenever they have Eid, that is Eid. This is in clear violation of authentic hadith which commands that Ramadan and Eid are based on sighting of the crescent.

  2. The khateeb claimed that if any Muslim anywhere says that crescent has been sighted, that witness must be accepted because Muslims are equal. That is in violation of Islamic teachings that witnesses should be people of good character known to the community. Also entire ummah cannot be subjected to the claim of one individual when we have corrupt governments which can pay anyone to make a claim

  3. The khateeb urged Muslims to vote because these votes are noted by the government and bring money to the masjid. This point is an obvious attempt to integrate Muslims into the corrupt election campaigns which are ruining America. Also, there is an indication here that the masjid is getting money from the government. [A statement was issued by the mosque authorities that the masjid is costing $11,000 per month.]

The 8-page Jamaat al-Muslimeen document given to 350 Muslims included the following items:

  1. Top woman leader of Islam, Ayesha Siddiqa, r.a., speaking on the murder of Usman, r.a. when she lead an army to punish the killers. [Tabari's Tarikh.]

  2. Charity is for all needy people, not just Muslims. [Imam Badi Ali.]

  3. Fasting and Paradise. [Sis. Yasmin.]

  4. Making Pakistan Islamic: Critique of military's tyranny. [Br. Kaukab Siddique]

  5. Syrian tyrant forced into 70 mile long retreat by IS. USAF bombing Menbig. [SOHR]

  6. Fallujah: An empty "victory" for US air force and Baghdad. [Reuters, BBC, Guardian]

  7. Injustice in America. The case of Lacino Hamilton. {Sis. Karin Friedemann.]

  8. Brief news on Kashmir, India, Somalia and Armenia.

The papers were well received and welcomed.

Latest Khutba

Police Brutality & Dallas. America is in Bad Shape. Islam is the Solution. America cannot Solve Any of its Problems.

On July 8, Br. Kaukab siddique gave the juma khutba at masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen in Baltimore. The masjid was packed with worshipers but as it is a small masjid, the outline of the khutba is given here for widespread distribution on line.

[After prayers, a visitor embraced Islam and was reminded by the imam about the basic teachings of Islam. ]

Text #1:

Lo! Allah enjoineth justice and kindness, and giving to kinsfolk, and forbiddeth lewdness and abomination and wickedness. He exhorteth you in order that ye may take heed.

[The Quran 16:90]

Text #2

Sahih Bukhari: Volume 3, Book 43, Number 628:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
The Prophet sent Mu'adh to Yemen and said, "Be afraid, from the curse of the oppressed as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah."

  1. Racism became deeply rooted in America because the slave owners claimed that God himself had made Black people inferior and cursed. A religious bias was given to evil.

  2. Dr. King worked hard to get Black people their basic civil rights.

  3. However, laws cannot change people's hearts and souls.

  4. Today we have a Black president and countless Black officials but nothing has changed. People who are Black and/or poor are entirely at the mercy of the police. They can be shot down on mere suspicion.

  5. Even if a person is a gangster or a thief, that should not give the police the right to gun him down.

  6. Highly educated Black people from the middle class are treated as potential criminals by the police.

  7. Police forces are paid to be the servants of the people. We should not deny that often they do good but when they feel threatened or even irritated they can simply execute their victims.

  8. Many police officers are trained to behave as if they are better than other citizens, specially Black and poor people. They have this attitude of supremacy which Satan had about Adam: 'I am better than him.' In every major city, police is humiliating and killing people. People are so terrorized, they try to run away from police and then this is considered a justification for shooting them down.

  9. Why can't the people resist? They have been divided and demoralized. Even for non-violent crimes, citizens are given long sentences in prison.

  10. When police arrest a man [or woman] they force the victim to lie down flat on the ground, face down. At the slightest hesitation, they are brutally wrestled down.

  11. Those citizens who are convicted, have to take their clothes off and are subjected to cavity searches. They become a prison number, no longer human. When they are released, they have a criminal record and cannot get a job.

  12. Black families, and families in general, have been broken down so they cannot unite against the government. Adultery is encouraged. Liquor is treated as normal. Gambling is highly praised and organized to provide a false hope. Drugs are everywhere.

  13. The family, which is the core of resistance, is further weakened the encouragement of random sex. Rape is hardly punished. The President of the United States leads the push for HOMOSEXUALITY. He even goes to Africa tp export the idea of legitimacy of homosexuality. The result is the total destruction of the family. Result: NO UNITY. NO RESISTANCE.

  14. The shooting in Dallas indicates that some Black people are desperate enough to shoot back at the police. It can lead to reprisals against Black people and elements of race war. It also means, America's wars are coming home. The first policeman who was shot down had done three tours in Iraq.

Part II. only Islam can save America.

  1. I was listening to a leading Christian preacher [Osteen] on TV from one of the biggest churches. He gave a lot of good advice and hope but one thing was completely missing: The belief in the HEREAFTER. The language the Qur'an uses for belief in the Hereafter [yaqeen] is even stronger than the language for belief in the prophets. [iman].

  2. Unless Americans believe in the Hereafter, they will not change.

  3. We have a Book, the Qur'an, which is the only book which has not been changed.

  4. We have the Sunnah of the Prophet, pbuh, which is an example for people's daily lives. No other religion has a livable Sunnah.

  5. Women must be respected and honored regardless of whether they are good or not. Why? Because every woman can be a mother, a daughter, a sister, a wife. This respect for women is the foundation of society. Millions of women would accept Islam if they knew Islam.

  6. We have Shariah. Liquor and drugs are prohibited by Allah as is gambling. This is not a matter of opinion. Once people know of a livable religion anchored in law, they can come back to the Creator. Rape and homosexuality publically professed are capital crimes in Islam. Of course they can't be implemented in America but when people know these are unacceptable, the victims will seek refuge with Islam, the religion of the Creator.

  7. We must seek Allah's forgiveness, purify our selves, study the Qur'an and Hadith, a little every day and find spouses who will stand with us in the Islamic struggle.. Be honest, compassionate, good neighbors and sexually chaste. Do not oppress anyone. Do not love oppressors.

Intense Bombing of Aleppo and Manbig. Air Massacre in Village on Turkish border. IS advances towards Homs.

By July 10, Assad's artillery units with air cover reached the al-Costelo road and Mallah farms north of Aleppo. The city is supplied with basic needs through this road. This might be another starvation of the civilian population. An FSA attack to open the road was beaten by the regime's air and artillery.

Islamic force in eastern Aleppo is hitting the Alawites in western Aleppo as well as the Kurds while the Alawite force in western Aleppo is using heavy artillery and air strikes against the Islamics in the east of the city. FSA and civilian volunteers are holding most of Aleppo.

Heavy fighting continues in and around Manbig [the corridor to Turkey] where US air force is hiiting Islamic State fighters while Kurdish communists try to enter the city. After 41 days in spite of heavy losses, IS is still in control of most of the city.

Around Damascus, the regime has been bombing and shelling FSA and civilians but was not able to advance.

On July 9, the Syrian Russian air force bombed a small village called Darkush on the Turkish border. It was a massacre of 25 civilians including 11 women.

The only advance this week was by the Islamic State when it captured Mohr hill near the oil field in the area, beating back the Hizbullah-Alawite forces.

Also in the Homs area the Assad air force bombed a small village known as Burj Qa'ri killing 8 civilians including 6 children

[IS is holding its advance back to Palmyra where now IS shot down a Russian helicopter killing both crew. See this in a separate item published below.]

Russian pilots killed as 'ISIL downs helicopter. 'Military helicopter involved in anti-ISIL operation crashes near Palmyra after being hit by gunfire from the ground.

Two Russian pilots have been killed in Syria after fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) shot down their helicopter near Palmyra, Russia's defence ministry has said according to local media.

The two men had been attacking a group of ISIL fighters in the Homs region on Friday, when the military chopper they were in ran out of ammunition, the Interfax news agency said, quoting the defence ministry.

"The turning helicopter was hit by militants' gunfire from the ground and crashed in the area controlled by the Syrian government army. The crew died," Interfax said.

 Palmyra

ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack, according to SITE monitoring group.

Footage published on Saturday by ISIL's affiliated news agency Amaq showed a helicopter being shot and crashing to the ground.

Russian forces entered the Syrian conflict in late September last year, backing the forces of President Bashar al-Assad. At least 12 Russian soldiers have been killed since Moscow launched its military operation.

Biggest anti-Police Violence Rally was in Atlanta [where thousands marched] After Dallas Shootings. Following police killings of black men, protests resume after officers at Dallas rally were killed in 'revenge' attack.

Thousands have taken to the streets of US cities to denounce police killings of two black men this week, a day after a man killed five police officers at a similar demonstration in the city of Dallas.

Protesters on Friday clogged roadways in New York City, Atlanta and Philadelphia, and events in San Francisco and Phoenix also drew large crowds.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or significant numbers of arrests, though in Phoenix police in riot gear used pepper spray on protesters, some of whom threw rocks at officers, local media said.

Videos posted online showed protesters also gathering in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where 37-year-old Alton Sterling was shot dead by police early on Tuesday.

The largest demonstration appeared to be in Atlanta, where thousands of people marched, chanting and waving signs demanding justice, video posted to social media showed.

Footage from broadcasters showed a large crowd facing off with dozens of police vehicles blocking a local interstate highway.

'No justice, no peace'

Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed tweeted that the rally was largely peaceful, though about 10 people had been arrested.

Friday was the second day of demonstrations against the killings since the fatal shootings of Sterling and of 32-year-old Philando Castile near St Paul, Minnesota.

The killings again stoked racial tension that has flared repeatedly across the country since the 2014 killing of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teen, by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri.

Castile was killed by police during a traffic stop on Wednesday, and his girlfriend broadcast live footage of the immediate aftermath of his shooting on Facebook, drawing millions of viewers.

 Micah Xavier Johnson

Sterling was killed on Tuesday during an altercation with two white police officers outside a shop. A gruesome video of that incident caused uproar on social media.

"No justice, no peace, no racist police," demonstrators shouted late on Friday in Baton Rouge, where state and local police in riot gear tried to keep them from blocking a busy roadway.

Thursday's demonstrations over the killings of Sterling and Castile were largely peaceful until gunfire rang out at a Dallas rally that was winding down.

Authorities said 25-year-old Micah Johnson, a black American soldier who had fought in Afghanistan, launched a sniper attack that killed five police officers and wounded nine other people. According to police, he later said he had wanted to "kill white people."

Police killed Johnson with a bomb-carrying robot after cornering him in a parking garage, ending an hours-long standoff.

Utica, NY
[Her Half Brothers Confessed to Sexual Molestation of her Children. She attacked their sexual organs. One Brother was Killed and the other Seriously Injured.] Woman convicted of manslaughter in brother's church killing.

 Sarah Ferguson

July 5: A woman accused of taking part in a 14-hour group beating that killed one of her half brothers and injured another during a church counseling session was convicted on Tuesday of manslaughter and assault but was acquitted of murder.

Oneida County Judge Michael Dwyer acquitted Sarah Ferguson of the most serious charge she faced, second-degree murder, saying prosecutors had not proved that she knew 19-year-old Lucas Leonard could or would die after she pummeled both brothers' groins with an electrical cord at the Word of Life Christian Church in October.

Ferguson, among nine relatives and church members charged in the case, testified last week that the brothers admitted during the counseling session to molesting her children. Ferguson, who had waived her right to a jury trial, left the courtroom Tuesday without saying anything.

The judge said he "did not believe very much of her testimony."

"Sarah Ferguson ... testified that after the beating she saw both boys standing and that they looked OK to her," the judge said while explaining his verdict. "She also testified that she did not think that they needed medical attention."

District Attorney Scott McNamara said Lucas Leonard and his younger brother were ordered during the beating to repent a variety of sins, which included using a voodoo doll. Police have said there's no evidence to support the sex abuse claim and the church's pastor called the counseling session after the brothers discussed leaving the secretive church.

Lucas Leonard died slowly after collapsing and losing consciousness as blood from a cut to his penis saturated his left pants leg and sneaker, McNamara said during the trial. His younger brother, 17-year-old Christopher Leonard, was hospitalized for a week with life-threatening damage to his kidneys and injuries to a lung, the prosecutor said.

Ferguson was the first to stand trial. The victims' and Ferguson's parents, Deborah and Bruce Leonard, have pleaded guilty to assault.

The judge on Tuesday continued a gag order in the case, saying he did not want attorneys' comments to interfere with the six pending cases, expected to be tried in the fall.

The remaining defendants face varying counts of murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, assault and gang assault. They include Tiffanie Irwin, the pastor of the family-run congregation, which operated from a former school that also served as a communal home for several members.

Also charged are Tiffanie Irwin's mother, Traci Irwin; Tiffanie Irwin's brothers Joseph and Daniel Irwin; and mother and son church members Linda and David Morey. All have pleaded not guilty.

The judge found the 33-year-old Ferguson guilty of two counts of gang assault, two counts of assault and one count of manslaughter. The charges carry potential prison terms of up to 25 years when she's sentenced in September.

Attempt to Use Quds Day in Support of Assad Regime.
Its only meant for Palestine.
by Karin Friedemann

I was confused by Al Quds day in Boston. The organizer was trying to "tie in" the issue of Syria, Yemen etc, condemning ISIS, Taliban, al Qaeda and talking about "stability in the Middle East" (code words for supporting Assad.]

When I mentioned that the Russians, Hizbollah and Assad bombing is what is destabilizing the region, and demanded why they are trying to limit Al Quds day for Shia and Assad loyalists, she would not budge from that position, and only one brother (a Palestinian refugee) defended my argument for keeping this strictly about Palestine so as not to alienate Sunni Muslims. Most people were saying I was really rude. It was disappointing.

KASHMIR

Deaths as Indian troops open fire on Kashmir protesters. Clashes in Indian-administered Kashmir follow mass funeral for slain rebel fighter Burhan Wani.

There were scenes of mayhem in parts of southern Indian-administered Kashmir after Indian forces opened fire on thousands of protesters, killing at least 19 civilians and wounding scores of others during a mass funeral for a slain rebel fighter.

Shiv Murari Sahai, a top Indian police official, told a press conference on Saturday that eight people from south Kashmir district were killed during the protests, including that of one youth who drowned in a river after being chased by paramilitary forces.

Tens of thousands of people defied a curfew in parts of Kashmir on Saturday to pay homage to Burhan Wani, the rebel fighter and so-called poster boy of the new Kashmiri resistance, resulting in clashes with police and paramilitary.

Wani was shot dead along with two other fighters by security forces and police in Bumdoora village on Friday, 85km south of Srinagar, prompting mass mourning across the valley.

Addressing the mourners, Muzaffar Ahmed Wani, the father of Burhan appealed people not to damage public property. "You can mourn the death of my son Burhan but don't cause damage to public property. It is our own property and we should not harm it." [EPA]

According to officials, as news of the killing spread across the valley on Saturday, clashes erupted in several districts in southern Kashmir as thousands of residents hurled rocks at Indian troops, who responded by using live ammunition, pellet guns and tear gas.

He joined because he was humiliated on the streets, his brother was tortured, this is where his resentment for the Indian government came from, and this is why Kashmiris identified with him

Street clashes also spread to Srinagar, the capital of the Indian-administered Kashmir, as thousands tried to vent their anger on the streets.

Shams Irfan, a local journalist who traveled to Tral, where authorities had cut electricity, blocked roads and the internet as part of the wider crackdown on protesters, told Al Jazeera that the demonstrations in southern Kashmir were "the biggest he had ever seen".

Earlier, thousands of armed police and paramilitary soldiers in riot gear fanned out across most towns and villages. They laid razor wire and erected steel barricades on the streets and drove through neighbourhoods, warning residents to stay indoors.

Wani, in his early 20s, had become the iconic face of Kashmiri resistance over the last five years.

As the son of a school principal, he is widely credited for reviving armed resistance in Kashmir, using social media like Facebook to reach out to young Kashmiri men.

Inspector-General Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani described his killing as the "biggest success against militants" in recent years.

 Kashmir

Restrictions were imposed in parts of south Kashmir as well as the capital Srinagar EPA/FAROOQ KHAN [EPA]

Khurram Parvez, programme director of Jammu Kashmir Coalition for Civil Society (JKCCS) in Srinagar, described Wani's death as an extra-judicial killing, saying the Indian government had made no attempt to arrest him. He said that Wani was an example of a rebel who had not joined out of ideological reasons.

"He joined because he was humilated on the streets, his brother was tortured, this is where his resentment for the Indian government came from, and this is why Kashmiri's identified with him."

"He is being painted as a dreaded militant, but he was often very politically correct, [for instance] he spoke about Pandits returning in peace and assured Hindus that their pilgrimage would not be a target by militants," Parvez said.

Indian officials, fearing that the killing could lead to violent protests in the already troubled region, suspended an annual Hindu pilgrimage to a mountain cave which draws about half a million people each year.

Officials also suspended cellphone services in southern parts of Kashmir and blocked mobile internet in rest of the region to prevent anti-India demonstrators from mobilising. Shops, businesses and government offices were shut following the security lockdown and a general strike called by anti-India separatists. Authorities also postponed school and college examinations and suspended rail services.

Reacting to the developments, Parvez, said that despite the curfew, "every death would provoke more people to come out [...] resulting in an endless cycle".

India 'covering up abuses' in Kashmir: report

Waheed Parra, leader of the The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) currently in a coalition with BJP party in Kashmir, said the state government wanted immediate peace in the region and called for de-escalation of tensions.

"We're praying for peace and the safety of our youth." he told Al Jazeera.

Most people in Kashmir have long resented the Indian presence, and support rebel demands for an independent Kashmir or a merging with Pakistan. More than 68,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the subsequent Indian military crackdown in Indian administered Kashmir.

Pakistani leader Sirajul Haq of Jamaate Islami on Kashmir. Mourning Latest Indian Atrocity in Kashmir

LAHORE, July 9; Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the martyrdom of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani at the hands of the Indian forces in held Kashmir during Eid days mirrored the brutalities of the occupation army over the Kashmiris. He was talking to media men after leading Ghaibana Janaza Prayers for the Kashmiri commander and icon social worker Abdus Sattar Edhi, at Mansoora,

JI central leaders including JI Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Maulana Abdul Ma'lik and Mian Maqsud Ahmed were also present.

Sirajul Haq said that the Modi government had given a license to the occupation forces in Held Kashmir to kill Kashmiri youth for the use of social media in support of their right to self determination. He said that Commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani had been martyred in a fake encounter after which the occupation forces had opened firing at his funeral procession killing eight others.

The JI chief said that the continuation of the Kashmiris' freedom movement despite the presence of eight lakh Indian troops in Held Kashmir was an indication that the freedom movement could not be crushed through genocide.

The JI chief said that India was also tightening the noose against world fame preacher Dr Zakir Naik in Kashmir as well as India and linking him with the terrorists. However, he said that ban on Dr Zakir Naik and his channel would be considered an attack on the millions of Indian Muslims like the attack at the Babri mosque.

Sirajul Haq deplored that while Indian army was carrying out the genocide of the Kashmiris, the rulers in Islamabad were crazy for friendship and trade with India. He said it was primarily due to the pro- India policies of Islamabad that the Kashmiris were still far from their destination. However, he said the Pakistani nation stood by the Kashmiris and it had never tolerated any one who betrayed the Kashmiris cause. The kashmiris were struggling for the completion of Pakistan as Kashmir was the life line of Pakistan.

The JI chief paid rich tributes to late Abdul Sattar Edhi for his services for humanity. He said the best way to pay homage to the deceased was that the government strived to provide shelter to the shelter-less and free medical cover and education to the poor. He also demanded that a university be named after the deceased and also strive for the grant of Nobel prize for the deceased in memory of his prolonged services to human beings.

A Shocking Look at the New Muslim World. After Gaza, every Muslim city is Gaza. Mass Murder of Muslims has Become the Norm. Russia and USA Working Together.

The 21st Century Crusade & Emiratisation of the Muslim World
by Dr Firoz Mahboob Kamal
{The writer is a top intellectual from Bangladesh with credentials from eastern and western universities. New Trend is honored to have him.]

The gazaisation

The Muslim Ummah now stands hostage to a new level of military aggression, occupation, deaths and destruction -as the people of besieged Gaza are suffering for more than a decade. The Israeli model of brutal gazaisation has its own admirers and perpetrators. The model is now replicated in many parts of the Muslim World. The perpetrators are not only the illegal state of Israel, it is the US-led global coalition of the 21st century crusaders. The medieval crusaders could occupy and run genocide only in Jerusalem and the surrounding areas of Palestine. They couldn't invade deep inside the Muslim Middle East and fragment it into more than 20 pieces. They couldn't run massacre in Damascus, Baghdad, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Mosul, Kabul, Kandahar and other great Islamic cities. Even the Mongol Tatars -known for their genocidal massacres, didn't raze any Muslim city to the ground. But now the brutality has attained a new high; hence, Gaza is not the only besieged and ruined city on earth. Aleppo, Hama, Homs, Falluja, Tikrit, Ramadi and many more cities now stand as the perfect replica of Gaza in the Islamic heart land.

The Muslims have now attained a new low, too. It is indeed the lowest of the low on their own moral scale. The old crusaders couldn't recruit any collaborator from the Muslim land, nor could built any military base or install Trojan horses there. But now they have many; they could raise thousands of collaborators with the Muslim name. The 21st century crusade are now being fought deep inside the Muslim lands. They now keep constant presence in Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and many more Muslims countries with their defence personnel, war planes, tanks, missiles, drones, army or air bases. Inclusion of these collaborating countries in the coalition has given them enormous strategic depth in their war against Islam and the Muslims. Like the non-Muslims, the ruling cliques of these Muslim countries too, show equal disbelief and disapproval of the core Islamic principles like sharia, hudud, khilafa, jihad and trans-ethnic global solidarity. Contrary to such Qur'anic ruling, they have raised walls of divisions to protect the pre-Islamic ethnic, linguistic and tribal identity. Turkey -the long-time citadel of Muslim power went further to embrace the imperialists' project of creating Israel in occupied Muslim land. They were very quick even to recognise this illegal state. The Turkish government now allows the US to use its air bases to bomb the Syrian and the Iraqi cities. Besides, the US and Russia have their own sovereign territories cum military bases deep inside the Middle Eastern countries; even the local rulers are denied the sovereign right to enter there. As a result of those military bases, their war planes need not have any long haul air travel from their own countries to kill the Muslim men, women and children in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan or any other Muslim country. In its long war campaign, the US now feels un-winning and exhausted; hence the old rival Russia is taken as a partner in its anti-Muslim campaign. The US secretary of state John Kerry made repeated visits to Moscow to persuade President Putin to focus his bombing campaign only against the Islamists.

The US hypocrisy

The hypocrisy runs very high in the US-led coalition. President Bashar Assad of Syria has razed many cities to the ground, killed more than 300 thousands Syrians and evicted more than 5 million from their home. But such brutality of Assad is not issue for these so-called protagonists of human rights and peace. They do not bother if he continues such atrocities for many more years. They do not bother to raise any coalition to stop such brutality against the civilian population. Their only worry is the Islamists. They label the Islamist as terrorist. But recently, the US authority has shown how fake is its agenda of fighting terrorism. It came to the press that the US army personnel are fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Kurdish Marxist-Leninist YPG terrorists in northern Syria -though these Kurdish fighters are marked as terrorists even by the American administration. The US soldiers even wore the YPG badge on their military uniform -as currently shown in the media.

The whole Arab world is impregnated with murderous rulers. Each of these ruling gangs indeed owns the largest terrorist outfit in their respective countries; the aim is to terrorise their own people and keep the country under their autocratic occupation. The Syrian dictator Bashar Assad presents the worst scenario. But the Egyptian President General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi, the Saudi king and other autocratic rulers of Gulf countries are no less bad and brutal either. Like President Bashar Al Assad of Syria, these tyrants too, execute the same policy of ruthless annihilation of the people who stand against their autocracy. In fact, all these cruel autocrats are in close coalition to fight against their own people. Hence, while the military junta of Egypt General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi kills thousands of innocent people on Cairo's streets and announces death sentences against hundreds, not only receives encouragement but also billions of dollar from Saudi Arabia and UAE as prize money. If the USA and its partners had any interest to fight terrorism and promote democratic rights in the Middle East, they would have withdrawn their support from these man-slaughtering terrorists in power. But the truth is otherwise. The US and its coalition partners are the sole protectors of these terrorists. If the military and intelligence life-support were withdrawn by the US and its partners, they would have quickly overthrown by their own people -as happened with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt and the Sha of Iran. On the contrary, these ruling terrorists are taken as the close coalition partners in their war against the Islamists; and as a mark of integrating with these terrorists in power, their worst atrocities against their own civilians are excused.

[To be continued, inshaAllah.]
