Be Kind to your
non-Muslim Relatives, particularly the Mother.
" Zubair, r.a. narrated: Qatila, the daughter of Uzza, came
to meet her daughter, Asma r.a.
Qatila had been divorced by Abu Bakr, r.a., in the era of
Ignorance. She brought gifts for her daughter, such as
cooking fat, sweets made from date juice, butter and cheese.
Asma, r.a., refused to take and accept the gifts or even to
let her enter her home. She then sent someone to Ayesha,
r.a., to ask the messenger of Allah, pbuh, about this
situation. When she asked the Prophet, pbuh, about this, he
told Asma, r.a., to let her mother enter her home and to
accept her gifts. On this occasion the verse of the Qur'an
came down: 'Allah does not forbid you with regard to those
who do not fight you owing to your faith nor drive you out
of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them, for
Allah loves those who are just."
[Hadith in Musnad of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Vol. 4, page, 4 with
commentary in the Tafseer of Ibn Kathir vol.4.]
Comment by Kaukab Siddique:
In America, this situation is quite common that children
embrace Islam and parents remain non-Muslims. Let us be kind
to parents and relatives who though non-Muslims are not
fighting us in any way. [Fats and milk products were highly
prized in the desert culture. ] The Quranic verse quoted in

Spotlights & Guidance from Br. Badi
Digital Devices and our Children. This Ramadan, try to end
this Bondage
Happiness is obtained through faith in Allah.
We are not born with wisdom, for we must obtain it through
reading.
Nowadays our children do their "thinking" with the TV on and
with their hands holding video game devices.
The media revolution has rewired our brains to think and
react purely on superficial levels. And as time passes, we
are losing our capacity for deeply thinking and
analyzing.
Nowadays, our world is full of distractions, it is our duty
to re-educate, train, and renew our minds.
The other day, I parked by the red light and while watching
the light, a young man came from nowhere walking in front of
me. He was like a zombie: headphones, eyes on a screen, and
fingers texting. Nowadays, people are walking like zombies
with these cellphones. Their senses are turned off.
Wasting time on these new electronics and apps is becoming
the new illness of our time. People are spending hours
texting, searching, playing and doing nothing but
"iWasting."
Allah (SWT) created these hands free so they can produce and
be effective. Nowadays, these hands have new handcuffs -
cellphones and game controllers.
This Ramadan try to free yourself from cellphones, video
games and other digital devices.
Ramadan came to free from all forms of slavery.
I am worried about the effects of these digital devices on
our children.

Robert Fisk's Attack on Saudi Arabia has a Hidden Agenda.
He Supports Attempts to "Modrernize" Islam but Complains
about Attempts to modernize Buildings.
by Sis. Gulshan Alani [Canada]
I usually support the honest work of Robert Fisk but in this
one I disagree with his opinion. No matter how sorrowful it
is for other people who are more like Westerners, and love
the old useless buildings, artifacts and shrines, and spend
millions, but have no consideration for the comfort of
people.
Saudis have a very good reason to get rid of the useless
places where some people go and worship like pagans: They
want to accommodate millions of people. Saudi Arabia is an
independent country and no other Countries have a right to
dictate to them what they should and should not do.
There is nothing in dead people's Shrines, or houses.
According to the Hadiths, we are forbidden to worship such
places. In India some Muslims are so jaahil that they
worship at the dead Sheiks and Pirs' Dargahs and ask to give
them what they desire. Their faith is not in Allah but in
the dead people.
Also it is haram to make statues and worship them. Like in
Afghanistan they had the Statues of Buddha, so in Muslim
Land we cannot continue the Paganism.
Although, the Afghani, Syrian, and Pakistani Ismailis are
secretly practicing paganism, that is similar to Statue-Idol
worship.
Muslims should worry about such secret activity against
Islam, by those who are using the fake ID of Islam and
Muslim so nobody can find out their real agenda
of anti-Islam.
I would rather modernize the land and not Religion of Islam,
which some fake Muslims are trying hard to do so.

Why are Muslims fighting Each other? How does SHIRK Apply?
How Should Muslims respond to issues?
On May 20, Br. Kaukab Siddique gave the juma' khutba at
masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen in Baltimore, Maryland. Its a
small masjid, so an outline of the khutba is given here for
distribution on line.
Text:
"Allah does not forgive that partners should be set up
with Him, but He forgives anything else to whom He pleases:
to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most
heinous indeed." [The Qur'an 4:48]
Text #2:
Allah says: " O my servants, I have prohibited
oppression on Myself, and I have also forbidden it between
you." [Hadith Qudsi. Sahih Muslim.]
The non-Muslim media are constantly projecting the idea
that Muslims are killing each other, that there is no jihad
because most of the victims are Muslims.
This is a serious issue which has confused and misled
many Muslims in America and globally.
Allah is most merciful. Every sura of the Qur'an except
one begins with the statement of Allah's grace and
mercy.
Sincere repentance [tawbatun nusuh in the language of the
Qur'an] is accepted by Allah whatever we might have done,
however ugly, in our personal lives. Even major sins are
forgiven if we are sincere in repentance.
The question arises: Why is SHIRK or setting up partners
with Allah not forgiven? Always remember that SHIRK is a
mental condition, not a physical wrong doing. It is the
question of LOYALTY. Whose side are you on?
If you are with the kuffar, with the munafiqoon, with the
tyrants, it means your loyalty is not to Allah but to
oppressors who behave as if they are god.
When western occupation forces enter our countries, they
are opposed by Islamic fighters but are supported by people
with Muslim names who give top importance to their worldly
interests, not to Islam.
Now look at Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine. In each case,
some people with Muslim names support the occupiers. They
provide intelligence to the occupiers and when the situation
becomes "favorable," they even join the armies of the
occupiers.
The occupiers also use these "Muslims in name" to
install puppet rulers in Muslim countries, sometimes
directly as in Egypt, sometimes in directly as in Syria.
Often the friends of the occupiers continue to pray and
fast and gather in masjids. Prayers and fasting are very
important but are we praying and fasting to feel good and to
get assurance of a good life in the Hereafter, or are we
loyal to Allah and his people, the true believers?
When the Islamic resistance attacks these supporters of
the occupiers and the tyrants, the western media claim that
Muslims are killing Muslims. Look at Afghanistan, Somalia,
Iraq and you will notice that the supporters of the
occupiers have beards and their women have hijab.
In each instance we should respond as Muslims, as the
Quran says the believers are EACH OTHERS' protecting friends
and guardians. [9:71.] In Islam there is no scope for
Muslims to take occupiers and imperialists as friends and
guardians.
Are Muslims taught by Allah to fight Christians and
Jews? No! Absolutely not. We are taught to point out the
weaknesses of Christians and Jews, but we are not taught to
fight them. The Qur'an deals extensively with Jews, how much
Allah favored them and how they broke the trust Allah gave
them: however Allah does not teach us to fight them.
Muslims are taught to stand against and fight OPPRESSORS
[zalimeen] regardless of their professed faith.
Sura 11:113 teaches us not to cooperate with oppressors in
the slightest. The Qur'an teaches Muslims to fight kuffar
[rejectors of the truth], hypocrites and oppressors [9:73],
not Christians and Jews unless they are oppressors as in
Palestine.
When you are faced with an issue, RESPOND like a Muslim.
Our response should not be.........
I am a Pakistani.......
I am an Arab ......
I am an African ....
I am Black ......
I am White ....
Our response should be, I am a Muslim. Let me find out what
the Quran and the authentic hadith say.

A Very Old War Which is Still Studied and is Insightful
The book "Peloponnesian War" by Donald Kagan is well
written. As there is too much information crammed into one
volume, the reader can get confused at times. However, this
is a good book for the lay reader to understand a war, from
which analogies are still drawn about modern conflicts.
This war took place about half a century after the Greeks
under the leadership of Athens and Sparta had withstood a
massive invasion by the Persian Empire. The period between
these two wars was one of great prosperity. Especially for
Athens, whose democracy matured, and it set up a maritime
empire.
The Peloponnesian war lasted about thirty years, and reduced
Athens from a prosperous maritime empire to a defeated and
conquered state. It saw barbarity and atrocities and a
deterioration of ethics in pursuit of power and victory.
Essentially this war was the result of the rivalry between
the two main powers among the Hellenic city states; Athens
and Sparta. These two competed for hegemony and resources.
They were also opposite to each other in their systems of
governance and their approach to power. Sparta was a
militaristic oligarchy, while Athens was a democracy. Both
the systems had their strong points as well as potential for
abuse.
The war began in places far removed from the great cities of
Greece, which were drawn in through fear, greed, entangling
alliances or power politics. Sparta marched under the banner
of bringing freedom to the Greek city states from the
political, military and economic hegemony of Athens.
2.0. SPARTA
Sparta was a militaristic oligarchy, dedicated to preserving
its way of life. Sparta consisted mainly of Helots, who were
basically slaves/serfs farming for their Spartan masters,
Preriokoi, who were personally free, but subject to Spartan
control, and Spartans, who devoted themselves exclusively to
military training. Thus its citizens had the fighting
abilities of professional soldiers.
2.1 Spartan Social Structure
The whole Spartan lifestyle depended on the forced labor of
Helots. Spartans were acutely aware of the fact that Helots
hated their Spartan masters, and outnumbered them by about
seven to one. Because of the leisure time afforded by Helot
labor, and the perpetual fear of Helot slave rebellion,
Spartan males devoted themselves full time to military
training and physical exercise.
Spartans only allowed perfect infants to survive. The rest
were killed by exposing them to the elements. At the age of
seven young boys were put in barracks to undergo harsh
military training and discipline. They had to undergo this
training till the age of twenty. From the age of twenty till
thirty they stayed in the barracks, helping educate the new
young recruits. At thirty a Spartan became a full citizen;
however his military obligations remained until the age of
sixty.
After the age of twenty, the Spartans were allowed to marry,
however they could only visit their wives by stealth. There
was also organized pederasty and homosexuality, as every
young recruit was assigned an adult "patron" who not only
taught him how to be a good soldier and a good Spartan, but
also used him sexually.
2.1.1 Social and Military Implications of the Spartan Social
Structure
The Spartans had a very strong land army, as its citizens
had the skills of professional soldiers. However, Sparta's
main goal of having a strong army was to keep the Helots
from rebelling. This also made them reluctant to fight
foreign wars, as there was always the fear that the Helots
may rebel while the army was away.
Furthermore, the separation of spouses during their most
fertile years, euthanasia of "imperfect" infants and rampant
pederasty led to low population, thus a smaller army. This
was also a consideration in Sparta's reluctance to waging
war.
Comment:
This was a very unnatural social structure, which probably
led to great heartbreak among parents whose children were
euthanized, or sent to the barracks at the tender age of
seven, to be sexually molested by adult men. Furthermore,
this system kept spouses separated while they were young,
leading to tensions among those who wanted a normal human
life, and live a life free from sexual perversion
2.2 Sparta: Internal Policy versus Foreign Policy
As mentioned before, Spartans were always very reluctant to
start wars, as they were afraid of Helot rebellions at home.
They also created a network of alliances under their
leadership, known as the "Peloponnesian League." While
extremely repressive at home, Sparta was moderate and
cautious in its foreign policy.
Comment:
If we compare it with today's world then Sparta has an
uncanny resemblance to Israel , which like Sparta is a very
militaristic homoerotic society, whose purpose is the
subjugation and oppression of the indigenous people of
Palestine , very much like Sparta 's treatment of the
Helots.
Unlike Israel , Sparta did not have a superpower for a
patron and as such could not follow a hyper-aggressive
foreign policy. Therefore Sparta resembled modern China in
its foreign policy, i.e., it followed restraint and caution
in its relations with foreign countries.
3.0. ATHENS
Athens was a democracy, and the populace participated in the
decision making process.
Athenian empire emerged from an alliance formed after the
Persian wars. First Athens was the leader of this alliance,
known to modern scholars as the Delian League. Gradually
Athens changed from a leader to the master and hegemon of
this alliance. The Delian League changed from a voluntary
alliance to an instrument of Athenian hegemony.
The main instrument of Athens power was its naval fleet,
which was maintained through payments by Athens's vassal
states. It also protected Athens from the sea. We can safely
say that Athenia ruled the waves in the Aegean.
Athens prosperity depended on its maritime trade. As it grew
richer, it grew more confident. This confidence later on
took on the shades of hubris.
On land the Athenians built walls around their city, and
then connected the wall to the fortified port of Piraeus,
thus making their city virtually invulnerable.
Comments:
As a democracy, Athens had the advantage of giving a stake
and a voice in the running of the state to its citizens.
However, the bane of democracies is the opportunity for
demagogues to appeal to the basest instincts of the
populace, throwing away reason and ethics.
Benjamin Franklin described democracy as two wolves and a
lamb voting on what to have for lunch.
The purest form of democracy in the modern world was
probably a blood crazed KKK lynch mob.
In the absence of overarching ethics and laws, democracy
would be the rule of knaves, adept at manipulating fools. In
short it would be a majoritarian tyranny, presided over by
rabble rousers and rogues.
Athens eventually became a victim to the immoderate
demagoguery of extremist warmongers, who eventually led its
people to disaster.
4.0. PRELUDE TO WAR (479 - 439 B.C.)
With increasing prosperity Athens became more aggressive,
while Sparta continued to be cautious in its approach to
Athens. This led to tensions.
These tensions were further increased when Corinth and
Megara, two allies of Sparta went to war over their
boundary. Sparta remained uninvolved. In 459 B.C Megara
found itself losing. It proposed to leave the Spartan
Alliance in exchange for Athens's help. Athens accepted,
thus making Corinth its deadly enemy, and making Spartans
angry. This is sometimes called the "First Peloponnesian
War." It lasted for 15 years, and ended when Magerians
defected from their Athenian Alliance, and rejoined the
Spartans.
5.0. INTO THE VORTEX
In 433 B.C. war broke out between Corinth and Corcyra.
Corcyra appealed to Athens for help as Corinth was a member
of the Peloponnesian League, and was an enemy of Athens.
Corcyra especially appealed to Athens's fear that Sparta and
its allies may become too strong if Corinth was victorious.
The defeat of Corcyra and the transfer of its fleet to
Corinth would have created a fleet strong enough for the
Peloponnesian League to challenge Athens on the sea.
Probably under the persuasion of Pericles, Athens entered
into a defensive alliance with the Corcyra, risking war with
Sparta and the Peloponnesian League. This led to Athens
participating in sea battles and provocations against
Corinth.
In another development Athens proclaimed the Magerian
Decree; putting Magera under an economic embargo. Sparta
sent envoys to Athens whose main demand was the withdrawal
of the Magerian Decree. Pericles rejected these demands.
Spartans sent an ultimatum for the withdrawal of this
decree. Athens under the oratory of Pericles did not comply.
Thus both sides influenced by mutual fears decided to enter
the vortex of war.
6.0. PERICLES'S WAR
During its first years, Athens's war effort was guided by
Pericles, thus that stage can be called "Pericles War."
It consisted of avoiding full scale land battles with the
mighty Spartan army, and using the powerful Athenian navy to
control the sea, and conduct raids in the enemy's rear. In
the face of Sparta's invasion of Athens territory (Attica),
the Athenians let the Spartans devastate the farmland, and
took refuge behind the defensive walls.
This period saw a lot of action, but on the strategic level
it was a stalemate, with Athens on the defensive on the
land, and Sparta unable and unwilling to fight the Athenian
navy.
In 430-429 B.C. Athens was struck by the plague, which also
carried off Pericles.
7.0. NEW ATHENIAN LEADERSHIP AND REBELLIONS
The death of Pericles deprived Athens of a brilliant
politician and an able strategist. Nicias son of Niceratus
and Cleon son of Cleaenetus emerged as leaders of rival
factions. These two were opposites in their approach to
leadership. Nicias was pious, upright and reserved, a
gentleman. Cleon was an advocate of war, a demagogue and a
vulgarian. In 438 B.C. their interests were identical, i.e.,
the Athenian empire must be kept safe.
The city of Mytilene on the island of Lesbos rebelled. After
the rebellion was crushed, and the city re-conquered, Cleon
persuaded the people of Athens to kill the entire adult
Mytilenian male and enslave the women and children. This
sentence was rescinded at the last moment.
Under the new leadership Athens adopted a more aggressive
posture, with unprovoked attacks on neutrals like the Island
of Melos. By 425 B.C Athens had broken the stalemate and
gained the initiative. At this time when they had the
advantage, instead of negotiating peace from a position of
strength, Cleon and like minded men argued that to make
peace when the enemy was weak and demoralized was foolish.
Their enemies needed to be subdued before any peace could be
declared.
8.0. PEACE OF NICIAS
Peace of Nicias was negotiated with Sparta, with the
Spartans making many concessions, and promising more. This
"false peace" lasted about eight years, but was repeatedly
broken before its formal demise in 414 B.C.
At this time the enemies of Sparta got emboldened, and
repeatedly tried to humiliate Sparta, even at the Olympic
Games.
In 416 B.C. Athens renewed its war against Melos. After
conquering the city Athenians voted to kill all the Melian
males and enslave the women and children. Thus Athens had
adopted the policy of state terrorism to subdue its
conquered people.
9.0. ATHENIAN DISASTER IN SICILY
"Those that the gods destroy they first make insane" -Greek
proverb.
In the winter of 416/5 BC two Greek cities in Sicily,
Segesta and Leonine asked Athenian help against the
neighboring city of Selinus, and its protector Syracuse.
According to Thucydides Athens always wanted to conquer and
dominate Sicily. According to him the Athenian masses were
greedy, power-hungry, and ill-informed about their enemy.
Thus out of hubris and ignorance Athens dived headlong into
disaster.
At first the Syracusans narrowly avoided total disaster, but
got besieged in their city. They did get some help. Corinth
sent ships, while Sparta sent general Gylippus to take
command of the Syracusan forces. Furthermore, because of
Athens's aggressions, Sparta finally scrapped the peace of
Nicias, and resumed full scale war against Athens.
Under the leadership of general Gylippus Syracuse blunted
the Athenian offensive, and slowly the tide turned.
The Syracuse campaign drained Athens of its manpower and
financial resources. Eventually Athens lost its Army in
Sicily, thus receiving a grievous blow to its military and
financial power.
10.0. DECLINE AND FALL OF ATHENS
After the disaster in Sicily, the tide decisively turned
against Athens. There were interludes where Athens achieved
naval victories, but it failed to convert those victories
into a cessation of hostilities. On the other hand Sparta
achieved a great diplomatic and economic triumph by being
able to get the support of Persia against Athens.
Sparta's timidity and lack of skill on the sea continued to
lengthen the war, leading to times of hope for Athens.
However, in Lysander Sparta finally found a competent and
aggressive naval commander.
Eventually Persian gold, the powerful Spartan army on land,
and the Spartan and allied fleet under Lysander finally
brought down the powerful Athenian empire. It was a Greek
tragedy; hubris had invited nemesis.
Athens was eventually able to free itself from the yoke of
Sparta, but that was to be just an interlude, before it
succumbed to the power of a conqueror coming from the hills
of Macedonia.

Top Taliban Leader Killed in US Air Strike while travelling
in Pakistan. [Not Confirmed?]
May 21.
Washington (CNN)Taliban leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad
Mansour was likely killed in an airstrike in Pakistan on
Saturday, two U.S. officials told CNN.
One of the officials said the strike occurred around 6 a.m.
ET Saturday morning in a remote area of the
Pakistan-Afghanistan border, southwest of the town of Ahmad
Wal.
Mansour was the target of the strike, and a second adult
male combatant traveling with him in a vehicle also was
likely killed, the official added.
U.S. officials are still assessing the results, the official
said. The second source, a senior administration official,
said it would likely take days to get "physical
confirmation" because of the remote location.
The strike was carried out by multiple unmanned aircraft
operated by U.S. Special Operations forces. There was no
collateral damage, the first official added.
President Barack Obama authorized the strike.
The Pentagon confirmed the strike in a statement but didn't
say whether Mansour was killed.

the group is eliminating the poppy crop - used to make
heroin - in Nangarhar province's Achin and Dehbala districts

Close Shave for Top US General+ Regime Troops Capture
Damascus Villages+IS vs Assad in Deir ez Zor
Holocaust in Assad's Prisons Revealed.
On May 21, US Central Command's top general Joseph Votel on
a top secret visit to Kurdish troops in al-Hasakeh [north
east Syria] was targeted by two Islamic State human bombers.
They reached only about a mile from him but caused numerous
casualties in his Kurdish troops. Kurds have admitted 5
killed and "numerous" wounded. [SOHR which reported this
wonders how IS found out.]
On May 19, Assad regime's troops and Hizbullah swooped out
of Damascus and captured 5 villages in the southern side of
eastern Ghouta. This is an agricultural area which is the
source of food for civilians in the suburbs of Damascus.
The regime was able to do this because two opposition groups
in the area, an FSA faction and Jaysh al-Islam were busy
fighting each other in intense conflict.
Also, the regime took advantage of the cease fire to shell
Daraya which is an FSA stronghold on the edge of
Damascus,
On May 21 and May 20, Assad's and Russia's jets bombed Idlib
city which is the stronghold of al-Nusra front and Ahrar
al-Sham. Four Ahrar fighters were killed in one attack and
in the second 9 civilians were killed including a man, his
wife, 2 children, and 5 grand children.
There were demonstrations in Idlib by civilians after the
bombing calling for the overthrow of Assad.
Also on May 21, Jobar, another suburb of Damascus held by
the Islamics, was bombed and shelled by regime forces and
Hizbullah who then tried to advance into the town but could
not.
Islamic State [IS] fighters are locked in battle with regime
forces in De ez Zor [south east Syria], Homs province and
Suwayda province. No advances on either side. Russian jets
tried to help Assad by bombing Deir ez Zor and killed a
child and 3 women.
In Qamishli, extreme north east of Syria, US military
movement is reported with helicopters bringing in heavily
armed troops. Not clear if these are Americans on Kurdish
Communists. An unusual Islamic State attack was also
reported from Qamishli in which 10 vehicles were destroyed
and numerous shops went up in flames. [Details not
available.]
In Lattakia, Assad's Shiite militia known as NDF tried to
advance in the north but were hit by a tow missile which
killed 13 of the militia. It appears that local Islamic
fighters have obtained a handful of tow missiles from
Turkey.
HOLOCAUST in Assad's Prisons.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights [SOHR] has over 5
years tabulated the numbers of Syrians tortured to death in
Assad's prisons or died of sub human conditions in the
Alawite prisons. The number of deaths in Assad's prisons
have gone above 60,000, many of them tortured to death in
the regime's attempts to crush the Syrian people.
In one prison alone, Sednaya military prison, those tortured
to death include 110 teenagers and 53 women.
Another 200,000 plus prisoners are still alive and SOHR is
appealing to humanity to get them released before they meet
a similar fate.
Jewish Bus on Fire : Is this a hate Crime
by Sis. Aisha [Jamaat al-Muslimeen]
New York City - On May 10th, an 11 year old boy was arrested
for setting a Jewish bus on fire. He has been charged with
criminal mischief as a hate crime and arson as a hate crime.
There are 4 other school boys being sought for helping him.
Hate crimes require a stiffer penalty. I am not one who ever
believes that boys will be boys. However, under these
circumstances, children are usually punished for destroying
property. The fact that these children are being charged
with a Hate Crime is raising eyebrows. The bus did not have
ANY writing or symbols on it indicating that it was Jewish.
It was an ordinary yellow school bus.
Is the effort to charge these boys with a hate crime simply
because the bus belonged to the Jews? Were these children
cognizant of any intent to send the Jews a disturbing
hateful message through such an act? This dangerous act was
caught on video.
The prosecutor is none other than Brooklyn DA Kenneth
Thompson. This is the same prosecutor who prosecuted ex-cop
Peter Liang in the manslaughter trial for killing Gurley
only to tell the presiding judge that Liang did not deserve
any jail time. He is just another HNIC who needs to be
removed from his post.
White children have committed atrocities against non-White
children because they witnessed their parents do such things
and began to adopt their White supremacist attitudes.
Lynchings of Black people, as well as oppressive acts
against other non-Whites, was very wide spread and socially
acceptable at one time. However, no one targets Jews on such
a wide scale, not anymore. What anti-Jewish behavior were
these boys imitating? Was setting the bus on fire just an
opportunistic act undertaken by misguided youth?
They definitely need to be punished but, will it be for just
destroying property or a hate crime against the Jews?
