"The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The most
enviable of my friends is a believer with little property
who finds pleasure in prayer, who worships his Lord well,
who obeys Him in secret, who is obscure among men, who is
not pointed out by people, and whose provision is a bare
sufficiency with which he is content."

NEW TREND RESEARCH
Muslims Must Study Auschwitz to Counter Israel.
Most Americans don't know that Auschwitz is in Poland, not
in Germany.
On January 27, 1945, the advancing legions of the Soviet
army captured Auschwitz without any resistance from the
Germans who had left as the Russians advanced.
The Soviets did not say anything dramatic about anything
horrible they had found in Auschwitz. David Irving says from
German documents that when Hitler was told that the Russians
had captured Auschwitz, he did not show any worry that
anything secret was now in enemy hands. He simply said:
yes.
Almost 3 and half months later, when both Hitler and his
notorious propaganda minister Goebbels were dead, the
Soviets announced that they had found unimaginable horrors
in Auschwitz and that 4,000,000 people, mostly Jews, had
been murdered there, many of them in gas chambers.
Later the Russians, knowing that they had overshot the mark,
brought the statistic down to 1,000, 000 murdered Jews. How
this magic figure was arrived at is not clear.
From expert Communist propagandists, the horrors of
Auschwitz went global and Israel has used them to win victim
status for itself.
For years this propaganda went unchallenged but during the
last 30 years, researchers and scholars have challenged the
Auschwitz horrors story. One would have to be totally
accepting of the Israeli propaganda if we refuse to study
the revisionist scholars. Solid and irrefutable research has
been done against the Auschwitz horror story.
We invite readers to study these scholars to get the other
side of the alleged holocaust:

Faurisson
David Bradley
Mark Weber

David Irving
Zundel
For Muslims, this should be required reading. Israel's whole
stance is that Jews are victims and if America does not
support Israel, there may be another holocaust.
None of the revisionist scholars say that the Jews did not
suffer but so did others. Every German city was burned down,
literally incinerated. Poles suffered horribly as did the
Russians.
The war ended 70 years back. Germany has paid BILLIONS in
reparations to Israel but International Jewry continues to
squeeze the holocaust milk cow for its continuing funding of
Israel.

INDIA: Muslims Under Attack
Muslims under attack.
Communal disturbances and sectarian violence in Gujarat,
India
A communal riot broke out at Hansot lying between Vadodara
and Surat on Jan. 14, 2015. The intensity of the riots in an
area that had been in communal peace, even during the 2002
tragedy, was a cause of serious concern. More troubling is
the fact that it pitted tribals and Koli Patels against
Muslims.
A delegation consisting of JUH Gujarat President Maulana
Rafiq Badodvi, AIMMM Gujarat President Maulana Habibur
Rehman Matadar, Maulana Salman, Zidni Ilma
President J.S.Bandukwala, and All India Majlis Tameer e
Millat, Gujarat organiser Munir Kheruwala visited Hansot on
a fact-finding mission.
Hansot has a Muslim population of about 5000, out of a total
of 11000. The town was on edge due to one Sunil Patel who
had posted in late December an insulting image of the Holy
Prophet on the social media. This had led to tension.
Muslims had organized a protest rally. Hindus arranged a
counter Dharma Parishad, led by Vithal Patel. The trigger
was a minor kite incident on Jan. 14.
Firm Police action could have saved Hansot. Sadly the Police
Superintendent Bipin Ahire, actually directed attacks on
Muslims.
Any man with a beard and topi was roughed up, with police a
silent spectator. Over 200 bighas of standing sugar cane
crop was burnt, in such a way that the touching Hindu plot
was not affected at all. Muslim businesses were looted and
many burnt. Within a few hours, the loss was about 4 crores.
Two people died of stabbings and a 33 year old tempo driver
was killed.
The violence spread so fast, that it appears meticulously
planned. The presence of a Union Minister, Mansukh Vasawa,
two days prior to the riot appears suspicious.
About 25 Muslims have been arrested. But the police is most
reluctant to arrest Hindus. The principal culprit Vallabh
Patel, brother of a local MLA, moves about town freely.
About 200 BJP members have resigned from the party,
protesting that the name of the brother of the MLA is not
yet removed from the FIR. The other demand is that Muslims
must not receive any compensation for the loss suffered.
We protest the manner in which the Gujarat administration is
handling this sensitive case. Muslims have almost no voice
in this government.
In the interest of justice and to prevent a recurrence of
such bloody riots, we suggest :
The Government machinery must be neutral and fair. The
culprits must be arrested and the law must take its course
Two mosques and one madrassa were vandalized. The
Government must compensate for the same
The property and business loss has been huge. They must
get full compensation
The burning down of standing sugar cane crop, must also
be compensated
Disciplinary action must be taken against the Police

500 in Kabul.
Many Muslims consider depictions of the prophet to be
blasphemous.
Angry crowds poured onto the streets from Pakistan to Ivory
Coast to vent their rage at the new cover.
At least 20,000 people protested against the magazine in the
western Afghan city of Herat last week, while several
thousand others rallied in Kabul chanting "death to France,
death to the enemies of Islam".
Police said Saturday's protest had been brought under
control and the road opened for traffic.
"The protesters were throwing stones at the police, and the
police fired some shots in the air to stop the protesters,"
said Kabul deputy police chief Gul Agha Rohani.
WHY DON'T THEY LOVE US?
Why Don't They Love Us? The French Cartoons and the Story of
the Three Algerian Men.
by Asqfish
Photo: One of the oldest buildings in the city of
Constantine (431-km east of Algiers), will be restored to
host a museum of the Algerian Revolution.
This is a question that has been asked from time immemorial,
and there is no answer to it. Many reasons are presented and
discarded some acted upon to gain love to no avail.
The same question is now being asked by 1.2 billion Muslims
from the white westerners, why don't you love us? Why are
you deliberately trying to hurt us?
The answer is: I don't even know you, how can I love
you?
GETTING TO KNOW YOU...
Here is one story from Algeria...***
I am a young boy old enough to understand but young enough
to enjoy sitting in my grandfathers lap.
Every morning my grandfather gets up before the sun comes up
and I can hear his melodious voice reciting the words of
Allah. They seep into me dispelling the morning chill of the
desert night. I am enveloped in a warm feeling of love and
security and I never want him to stop. Sometimes his
melodious voice fades into the mist of my sleep and I awaken
to the sun shining in my face. I hear my mother calling me
to breakfast.
I notice at breakfast that my grandfather just like every
morning has gone on his horse. Oh I missed him again! I have
wanted to go with him when he goes to meet the workers on
the land he owns. Once he took me out of the house and
showed me the land, it stretched as far as the eye could see
in all four directions. "All this is your land?," I had
asked; he looked at me his green eyes softening in the
morning light "No" he said, " All of it belongs to Allah. He
has just given it to me in amanah for some time"
While waiting for breakfast I see a small speck faraway with
dust around it. It is my grandfather on his horse returning
from his morning visits with the farmers.
This is an ordinary day in my life growing up in Algeria.
There were many days like this while I was growing up. Safe,
secure in the love of my family.
What has never been puzzling to me but is now since I have
started to go to the local school is that I don't have a
father. I want to ask my mother: Where is my father? All the
children at school have young stalwart men who are their
fathers, where is mine?
Days go by and one day at lunch before Dhuhr Salah I ask my
mother while looking at my grandfather: "Ma where is my
father" My grandfathers face changes, it becomes pale and
shriveled as if someone has placed a huge boulder on his
shoulders. They sag with its weight. I look at his eyes and
in them is an ocean of grief. I have never seen my powerful
grandfather look like this. I look at my mother and her eyes
are cast down. She is silent; tears are rolling down her
cheeks.
It is long after that when I am in the United States to
study science that I open a book in the library .It is about
the revolution in Algeria. I open it out of curiosity to
just kind of peruse it briefly. I am rooted in horror. I
turn page after page, which describes the torture and
beheadings of the Algerian men by the French
colonialists.
As I turn the page, which has the title of my
hometown,.........I see the photo of a handsome tall
stalwart man, whose picture hung in our living room. On the
next page is a picture of him being beheaded and his naked
head placed on his sandy grave marked by a rock...it is then
that I put two and two together.
My father! My father! My father! The man I thought had
abandoned us. The man I thought was responsible for us
losing our farm when the men came to take everything away
and left my aging grandfather, my mother and me on the dirt
road. We were left with nothing but the clothes on our back,
they were French. I had hated my father for I believed he
had done things that caused us to leave our land, our home
and our heritage.
Waves of guilt and grief wash over me as I turn page after
page where there are photos of young Algerian men with their
identification, there hometown and their history and lineage
followed by their beheading by the French.
These were the freedom fighters that fought and lost...lost
everything to the French except their emaan, for that had
passed on to their progeny and their friends and their
countrymen, who were left under the cruel yoke of the
invading French colonialists.
My question had been answered: Why don't they love us? They
cannot! A thief does not love the members of house they
pillaged and the owners that they killed or maimed. Some of
our farm workers got away. Some were too weak to resist and
were left to die in the desert.
The French had vilified and dehumanized the Algerians, they
had invaded and looted their land and installed a despotic
and cruel ruling elite who imprisoned men and their families
who disagreed with him. His prisons were in underground
caves with rats and no sunlight.
Cruelty has no bounds in a heart that is devoid of the fear
and love of Allah.
Why had I come to the US? It was my grandfathers doing.
Every Algerian who had lost everything to the colonial rule
and the Despot had no recourse except to migrate to the
country that was ruling Algeria directly or indirectly. They
were using their last franc to go to France. It was all they
had and they could not go any further. They spoke French and
no English, and France needed manpower due to loss of men in
its wars. It was the old adage of being under a known
tyrant, being better than an unknown tyrant.
The Algerians had nothing left to sustain in their own land.
Between the French looting, pillage and the despotic leaders
greed, Algeria was decimated of its natural resources and
its farms were laid waste. The Algerians robbed of their
land crossed over to France in a refugee status. Even the
most educated and respected families landed in ghettos to
scrape a living by working on an assembly line of some
sort.
Here in a foreign country that had violated its forbears the
Algerians slaved and saved to build a better economic future
with the hope of someday going back home to Algeria.
Meanwhile my grandfather insisted that I learn English and
apply for a scholarship in the US, which I did and was
successful.
I left Algeria behind, and my magnificent grandfather in a
sad, penurious decrepit state with my mother emaciated
beyond recognition. I said goodbye to them and never saw
them again. They melted into the sands of penury and
degradation refusing to leave Algeria, the land, which was
soaked with the blood and spirit of their son and
husband.
Today I open the news on the internet and see a cheap
cynical French lampoonist newspaper that is losing ground in
circulation pick up the name of the most revered, beloved
person in the world and attempt to lampoon him. All this to
gain circulation and popularity. Just by using the name of
Prophet Muhammad pbuh their infamy skyrockets.
How can the French love me when they dehumanized my family,
beheaded my father for loving his faith and his homeland and
plundered and pillaged Algeria till there was nothing left
to pillage. They left leaving behind a despot who carried on
their carnage with more zeal and cruelty.
How can the French love me? How can they love what I love?
How can they love and respect Prophet Muhammad pbuh whom 1.2
billion Muslims and I love and respect as well?
So what is to be done? I am at a loss.
If I treat them like they treated my father, it is terrorism
and extreme cruelty. If I ignore them they will crush the
weak and the poor Algerians in France into the dirt. They
have already stripped the Muslim Algerian girls from going
to school unless they show flesh and flaunt their hair. What
do the Taliban and the French have in common against Muslim
girls that they do not want them to be educated?
I am still frozen with the shock of the lampoon going
public.
Meanwhile while I am appalled and paralyzed by the
disgusting cartoons, suddenly a group of French born,
Algerian young men, change the scene.
These young men were born and grew up in France. The country
of their birth that took from the country of their parents
and flourished but never gave back.
These men who have breathed the air of France minus the
overt enslavement of French colonialism are not chained down
by old fears of colonial France shared by their fathers.
The passion of old Algeria beats in their breast as it does
in mine. They are violated to the core at the extreme insult
to their beloved Nabi. The French ghettos have hardened
them, they are out on a crusade to set things right.
A series of rifle shots rent the air and shatter the fake
peace of the west.
One by one the lampoonist, the publishers, the guard, and
the distributers of the magazine all fall.
Their blood spilling over their ignominious drawings,
forever erasing their disrespectful lampoons, and paralyzing
the hand that moved to violate the sanctity of the one who
is the Beloved of the Divine.
And the rest is history..........

Ismailism: a Systematic attempt to undermine Islam
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD
Advocates of the Agha Khan's Ismaili cult are busy on the
Internet almost on a daily basis trying to undermine Islam
and revealing their own version of "Islam." They have become
very abusive and outspoken in their attacks after 9.11
perhaps owing to their sense that they have the protection
and support of major anti-Islam forces such as the
governments of the US, Israel and Canada.
My response to Ismailism will be in the form of an ongoing
series because their attacks on Islam cover just about every
aspect of Islam and are being trumpeted on the Internet.
The first point to notice is that Ismailism considers
only Ali, r.a., as the success story of the mission of
Muhammad, pbuh. It would seem from the Ismaili narrative
that Muhammad, pbuh, was betrayed by just about all his
Companions except for Ali, r,a., and a handful of other
Companions.
Thus not only is the mission of Muhammad, pbuh, seen as a
story of betrayal and treachery, but the greatest sahaba
[Companions of the Prophet, pbuh, ] Abu Bakr, r.a., Umar,
r.a., and Usman, r.a., are presented as USURPERS.
Not only are the khulafa rashideen attacked as usurpers but
they and most of the others with them are also seen as
HYPOCRITES [munafiqueen].
While the life of Muhammad, pbuh, is downgraded, the life of
Ali, r.a,. is glorified and in some ways a success story all
the way in just about all aspects of life.
The Ismailis begin right from the beginning by claiming in a
fabricated narrative that Ali, r.a. was born in the Ka'aba.
Obviously Muhammad, pbuh, was not born in the Ka'aba and
thus subtly Ali, r.a., is placed above the messenger.
Then at every step of the life of the Prophet, pbuh, we are
told that Ali, r.a., was the bright star of everything the
Prophet, pbuh, tried to do.
After focusing on Ali, r.a., as the only important
Companion [sahabi] of the Prophet, pbuh, the Ismailis built
up their religion by claiming that the Prophet, pbuh, had
only ONE daughter and that was Fatima, r.a., and she was
married to Ali, r.a. Thus they built up the "holy family"
concept.:
Here they were opposing the Qur'an itself:
The Qur'an says "daughters" not daughter. Here is the
verse:
"O Prophet! Tell your wives and daughters, and the believing
women, that they should cast their outer garments over their
pesons [when going out]: That is most convenient for them
that they should be known and not molested. And Allah is
Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
[The Quran, 33:59]
What Ismailis say about the Qur'an is a separate issue to be
discussed later but in the matter of daughters, they simply
ignored the Qur'an and claimed that the other daughters were
from the previous marriages of Khadija, r.a., not from her
marriage with Muhammad, pbuh.
Unfortunatey for the Ismailis, here is documentation from
Hadith:
Authentic hadith collected by Ibn Saad in his Tabaqat
al-Kubra gives the names of the daughters Prophet Muhammad,
pbuh, had with Khadija, r.a., as Zainab, Umm Kulthum,
Ruqayya and Fatima [Allah be pleased with them]. Of these
Ruqayya, r.a., outdid the others in carrying out the
greatest duty of Muslims, second only to Jihad. She did the
first hijra in Islamic history which was to Africa.
"Ruqayya, was the daughter of the Messenger of Allah, pbuh,
and her mother was Khadija, the daughter of Khuwaylad.
Before receiving prophethood, Muhammad, pbuh, had married
her to Utba, the son of Abi Lahab bin Abdul Mutallib who
divorced her soon thereafter before taking her as his wife
because in the meantime the prophet received prophethood and
the verses condemning Abu Lahab were revealed in the Qur'an.
She never went to Utba's home."
"She embraced Islam the very day her mother, Khadija, r.a.,
embraced Islam." [Among the very first to embrace
Islam.]
"She was among the first women to take the oath of
allegiance [baiat] to the Prophet, pbuh."
"She was married to one of the greatest Companions of the
Prophet, Usman, r.a."
" She did hijra TWICE to Africa with Usman, r.a.. The
Prophet, pbuh, said this is the first hijra in all of human
history for the sake of Allah since the time of the Prophet
Lut."
"Ruqayya suffered greatly [for Allah's sake] during hijra
and lost her unborn child through miscarriage."
All quotes from Tabqat ibn Saad, first and earliest
collection of biographical Hadith.
[Comment: If one reads the Qur'an, one will realize that the
Hijra by Ruqayya, r.a., puts her above other women,
including Fatima, r.a. who was also a great woman. We love
Fatima, r.a., but facts must be above feelings.]
"And their Lord has accepted of them and answered them:
'Never will I allow to be lost the work of any of you, be
you male or female, you are one community: those of you who
have done hijra from their homes or been driven out from
there, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought, or been
slain..................." [3:195]
After making the false charge that Muhammad, pbuh, had
only one daughter, the Ismailis then attack his other
daughters, Zainab, Ruqayya and Umm Kulthum, Allah be pleased
with them. They claim that if they had been his real
daughters, he would not have married them to
unbelieversnwhich is not allowed in Islam. This is a form of
ignorance of the fact that the daughters were born before
Muhammad, pbuh, received revelation. As I showed from
authentic hadith, above, Ruqayya, r.a., was married to Utba,
the son Abu Lahab, the arch enemy of Islam. The Ismailis
love to repeat this story, What they leave it in the
continuation of that hadith that before she went to Abu
Lahab's son as his wife, the verses in sura 111 condemning
Abu Lahab were revealed. Thereupon Utba divorced her and she
was never his wife.
Zainab, r.a., was married to , Abu al-'As, also an
unbeliever. She was separated from him when Allah revealed
Islam to the Prophet. Abu Al-'As, r.a., later embraced Islam
. The Prophet, pbuh, allowed Zainab, r.a., to then return to
him. He turned out to be a great fighter for Islam.
Ruqayya, r.a., married Usman, r.a.,,one of the great sahaba
whom the Prophet, pbuh, loved. When she died, Muhammad,
pbuh, gave his last daughter, Umm Kulthum, r,a., in marriage
to Usman, r,a.,,She was not in good health and soon passed
away. The Prophet then said, and it is widely reported in
hadith, that if I had another daughter, I would have married
her too to Usman, r.a. [Fatima, r.a., by that time had
married Ali, r.a.] For the Prophet, pbuh, Usman, r.a., was
the best of men for his kindness, generosity and
modesty.
Why do the Ismailis detest these three daughters of the
Prophet, pbuh, to the extent of claiming that they were not
his daughters? The main reason is their hatred of the
Ummayads whom the Ismailis consider the enemies of Islam.
The Ismailis want only the family of Ali, r.a., to be
recognized. They forget that Islam is not based on tribalism
or family but on TAQWA or God-conscious behavior.
The Ismailis either don't know or simply ignore the fact
that the Prophet, pbuh, himself married the daughter of one
of the worst Ummayad enemies of Islam, Abu Sufian. She was a
very strict Muslim and was known for her piety and wit. Her
name was Umm Habeebah. Abu Dawood in his Sunan has this
hadith:
Abu Dawood (#2107) narrated from 'Urwah from Umm Habeebah
(may Allaah be pleased with her) that she was married to
'Ubayd-Allaah ibn Jahsh, who died in Abyssinia. Then the
Negus married her to the Prophet (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) and gave her a mahr of four thousand on
his behalf, and sent her to the Messenger of Allah (peace
and blessings of Allah be upon him) with Shurahbeel ibn
Hasanah.] Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani.
It should be noted that later Abu Sufian, r.a., himself
embraced Islam and sacrificed much for Islam in jihad.
Thus the concoctions of Ismailism are nothing more than a
tribal and cultist attack on Islam.
Pakistan
Islamic Response to Obama's India Visit & Fraternization
with Fascist Ruler Modi.
[From Qaisar Sharif, JI Information office.]
LAHORE, Jan. 27: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul
Haq, has said that the Pakistani rulers' silence over US
President Obama's support for India as permanent UN Security
Council member and US-India nuclear deal was not
understandable.
Addressing a news conference at Mansoora on Tuesday, he said
that India was an aggressor and had been holding the
Kashmiris as slaves on gun point for six decades. She had
also thrust three wars on Pakistan in the past. With this
background of India, even the US proposal for making India
permanent member of the UN Security Council was a great
injustice.
" We don't want a war with the US, but the rulers' behaviour
as US slaves is not acceptable to the nation", he added.
Stating that peace in the region was not possible without
the solution of the Kashmir issue, Sirajul Haq said the JI
would hold countrywide rallies, Kashmir seminars and
processions on the 5th of February to express the nation's
solidarity with the Kashmiris struggling for liberation.
The JI chief termed the country's foreign policy a bundle of
failures. The rulers in Islamabad were serving the US
interests instead of the interest of their own country, yet
the US today was standing by India and "our rulers are
watching in silence".
He said the US-India collusion was a threat to the regional
peace. The US had entered into nuclear and trade agreements
with India while with Pakistan, it was trading on
dead-bodies.
Sirajul Haq said that Obama, on assumption of power, had
given an assurance to the world for the solution of major
issues including that of Kashmir. However, today, he was
building India as regional policeman and also supporting New
Delhi designs to destabilize this country through
Afghanistan.
Replying to a question, Sirajul Haq said that a peaceful and
prosperous Pakistan was the need of the masses. He said it
was the government's responsibility to normalize the
political situation in the country prior to the Senate
elections.
He said that the setting up of a Judicial Commission was not
an issue relating only to the government and the PTI, this
was the demand of all the parties and the general
public.
Sirajul Haq stressed that all political parties should sink
their differences and join hands on a one point agenda of
the solution of the problems facing the country and the
nation. He said that people were committing suicides due to
poverty but the ruling elite that controlled the vast
resources of the country, would not take pity on them at
all.
However, he was sure that the next elections would be a day
of reckoning for the political pundits who had been in
charge of the national resources so far because there was an
urge among the masses to rise for a decisive struggle.
Baluchistan Deprived of Basic Rights for 30 Years: Jamaate
Islami demands end of Exploitation Massacre of Shi'ites
condemned+ Solidarity with Kashmir
[via Ameer al-Azeem, JI Lahore]
LAHORE, Feb. 1; A representative political Jirga presided
over by the Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq,
held at Sibi on Sunday, called upon the federal government
to allocate sufficient funds to the Balochistan province
keeping in view its strategic location and requirements.
The Jirga having representation of politicians, tribal
leaders, the Ulema, intellectuals, journalists and the
youth, gave the message of love and peace to the oppressed
and poor people of the province and resolved to put
Balochistan on the path of development and prosperity
through public awareness, unity and mutual harmony.
The JI Ameer, while addressing the Jirga, said that the
rulers in Islamabad as also the Sardars of Balochistan were
tyrants, sucking the blood of the poor masses. The two had
been carrying out the exploitation of the masses for the
last 68 years, he said. He said that a war between the
oppressors and the oppressed was going on in the country,
but unfortunately, while the oppressors were united, the
oppressed stood divided. He said the JI was trying to unite
the oppressed people and added that the day on which the
oppressed united on a platform would be the doomsday for the
oppressors.
Prominent among those attending the Jirga were Haji Daud
Khan Rind, Shahd Chandio, Maj.(rtd) Abdul Kareem, Mufti
Kafayatullah, Abdul Samad Marghazani, Ahmed Khan Behtal, Mir
Muzaffar Nazrabro, besides JI provincial leaders.
Sirajul Haq said that Balochistan was full of natural
resources but its people were poor and depressed. He said
the solution of the Balochistan problems did not lie in the
induction of a Baloch as President or Prime Minister of the
country. It lay in the enforcement of the just system based
on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah.
He said the Baloch were patriotic people and instead of
driving them away by terming them as traitors, they should
be won over through love and affection.
The JI chief said that Prime Minister should have given
foremost attention to Balochistan because the international
robbers had their greedy eyes on the province, and till the
Balochistan issue was resolved, the federal cabinet meetings
should be held in Quetta.
He also counseled the Baloch youth to make their way into
the corridors of power to take the plunderers to
accountability, instead of going to the mountains. He said
that the national leadership should rise above party and
personal interests and think of the future generations.
He deplored that the situation in Balochistan had remained
unchanged during the last three decades and the people were
deprived of basic necessities of life. He called for setting
up higher education institutions in the cities of
Balochistan and primary schools and technical institutes in
the rural areas of the province.
Kashmir Solidarity day to be observed with full
enthusiasm
LAHORE, Feb. 1; Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat
Baloch, has said that the Kashmir Solidarity day would be
observed on February 5 with full enthusiasm and resolve and
an expression of national unity. The Ulema and the Maskahikh
besides religious and political leaders would lead rallies
and processions, on the occasion, he added. He was talking
to a select gathering of the Ulema and Maskaikh at his
residence here.
A resolution adopted at the meeting condemned the massacre
at the Shikarpur Imambargah and termed it an act of
terrorism and not sectarianism, and a national tragedy like
the Peshawar tragedy. It said that the Ulema and religious
parties were united against terrorism and the
terrorists.
Addressing the gathering, Liaqat Baloch said that the
mosques were the places of worship while the madrissahs were
the seats of religious education. He said that every
believer would safeguard the Islamic ideology of the country
and the Ulema and religious scholars would foil all
conspiracies of the secular lobby. The resolution reaffirmed
all out support to the Kashmir liberation struggle.
It also demanded complete end to the incidents of blasphemy
in the name of freedom of expression.

TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- In the latest sign of Libya's descent
into chaos, gunmen stormed a luxury hotel used by diplomats
and businessmen in the capital on Tuesday, killing 10
people, including an American, a French citizen and three
people from Asia.
Two attackers were killed following an hourslong standoff
that included a car bomb that exploded in the parking lot of
the seaside Corinthia Hotel. It was unclear if other gunmen
were involved in the attack, which also killed five Libyan
guards.
In Twitter posts and a statement on social media, a Tripoli
affiliate of the Islamic State group was said to be behind
the attack, but there was little evidence to back up the
claims in a country that has been awash in armed extremist
groups who would be equally suspect.
The SITE intelligence group reported that the two dead
gunmen were identified online as sympathizers of IS and said
the militants said the hotel was targeted because it houses
diplomatic missions and "crusader" security companies.
However, The Associated Press was unable to independently
confirm the claims, which didn't conform with the group's
earlier postings from Libya.
Militants claiming the attack on behalf of a group called
the Islamic State of the Tripoli Province posted a brief
video showing burned cars in the hotel's parking lot and
said it was to avenge the 2013 abduction by American
commandos of a Libyan al-Qaida operative, Nazih Abdul-Hamed
al-Ruqai, also known as Abu Anas al-Libi. Al-Ruqai died
earlier this month in a New York hospital of complications
from liver surgery while awaiting trial for the 1998
bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.
The assault highlights the growing threat from militant
groups that operate with near impunity in a country torn
between rival governments since the 2011 toppling and
killing of dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
Since Gadhafi's ouster, the country has been torn among
competing militias and tribes vying for power. Libya's
post-Gadhafi transition has collapsed, with two rival
governments and parliaments - each backed by different
militias - ruling in the country's eastern and western
regions.
Amid the bloody political rivalry, multiple armed groups
have emerged, including radical Islamist militias who have
pledged allegiance to the Islamic State, including one based
in the eastern city of Derna, a stronghold of radical
groups, as well as regional militias and groups loyal to the
former regime.
Tripoli, which has been controlled by Islamist militiamen
mostly from the western city of Misrata since the summer,
has been hit with a series of car bombs and shootings. The
internationally recognized government has been forced to
relocate to the country's east, where a former general has
waged an offensive against Islamist militias, including
Ansar al-Shariah, blamed for the 2012 attack on the U.S.
diplomatic mission in Benghazi that left the U.S. ambassador
and three other Americans dead.
A senior U.S. State Department official confirmed that a
U.S. citizen was among those killed in Tuesday's attack, but
did not provide further details. Cliff Taylor, the CEO of a
Virginia security company, Crucible LLC, identified the
slain American as David Berry, a contractor with his
company.
A French national and three citizens of a former Soviet
republic were also among the dead, according to a spokesman
for a Tripoli security agency, Essam al-Naas.
The Malta-owned Corinthia hotel, among the most luxurious in
Tripoli, is frequented by diplomats and foreign businessmen
visiting Libya, and is also where the United Nations support
mission in Libya usually holds its meetings. The mission is
currently hosting political talks with rival Libyan groups
in Geneva, trying to resolve the country's political and
security crisis.
The hotel had Italian, British and Turkish guests but was
largely empty at the time of the attack, according to hotel
staff members. There was also a visiting American
delegation.

Women joining IS militants 'cheerleaders, not victims'
London (AFP) - Western women who join Islamic State
militants are driven by the same ideological passion as many
male recruits and should be seen as potentially dangerous
cheerleaders, not victims, experts said Wednesday.
A new study from the London-based Institute for Strategic
Dialogue (ISD) said the estimated 550 women who have
travelled to Iraq and Syria are expected to marry, keep
house and bear children.
But despite being banned from fighting, many are active
propagandists for the cause on social media, celebrating the
brutal violence of IS militants, acting as recruiting
sergeants and even encouraging attacks abroad.
"The violent language and dedication to the cause is as
strong as we find in some of the men," said co-author Ross
Frenett, an extremism expert.
"The worry is that as ISIS (the IS group) loses ground, as
everyone hopes it does, that more and more of these women
will transfer from the domestic world they're in now to a
more violent one," he told AFP.
Much has been written about young women going to become
"jihadist brides", but the prevailing narrative of wide-eyed
recruits drawn by a sense of excitement belies the
importance of their own faith and passions.
The ISD researchers have been monitoring hundreds of women
on social media, but focused for the study on 12 women from
Austria, Britain, Canada, France and the Netherlands who are
living with the IS group in Iraq and Syria.
Some of the women endorsed the bloody beheadings carried out
by the militants -- "I wish I did" it, one said after US
journalist Steven Sotloff was killed -- as well as railing
against Western governments and the suffering of
Muslims.
"My best friend is my grenade... It's an American one too.
May Allah allow me to kill their Kanzeer (pig) soldiers with
their own weapons," one said.
Crucially, the women also provide advice and encouragement
to other women thinking of joining. "They're actively
recruiting women and providing them with assistance advice
and referrals to go to ISIS-held territory," said Frenett.
"And they are acting as cheerleaders for terrorist attacks
back home."
- Social media 'rebranding' -
"There has been this gender blind spot where we see women as
victims rather than as potential terrorists," said Jayne
Huckerby, associate professor at Duke University School of
Law who specialises in women and counter-extremism.
"Policy makers have overlooked and underrated female
terrorism both in terms of motivations for going and the
roles that are played there."
She said many women were driven to leave Western countries
because of alienation and restrictions on their freedom to
practice their faith, and drawn to the IS group by a sense
of adventure and enthusiasm for a new Islamic utopia.
Their key role, aside from being wives and mothers, is to
paint a picture to the outside world of daily life under the
militants, through postings on social media that intersperse
violent videos with photos of their cooking.
"They're very important in terms of re-branding ISIS as less
of a terror group and more of a state building exercise,"
Huckerby told AFP.
She noted that many were also willing to fight, a point also
made by Melanie Smith, of the International Centre for the
Study of Radicalisation (ICSR) at King's College London.
Smith, who maintains a database of about 70 female IS
members, said British women are inciting attacks by
suggesting them to people who could not travel to Iraq and
Syria.
"You can see women online being frustrated about the fact
they can't fight and they suggest to each other that they
could do something else," she told The Observer
newspaper.
Despite their passion, many of the women appear to find it
difficult to leave their families behind, a factor which
could be key to keeping them at home.
Frenett said the authorities should better support
relatives, and also provide a way out for the women if they
become disillusioned.
"There needs to be a path available to them when they come
home," he said.
Spoof
All this head chopping by this tall English man with his
face covered is disgusting . By now five heads have been
chopped off on TV by ISIS. Revulsion has spread through the
western world. New Trend can't take it no more! Every second
month we have to report another head chopped off ! STOP IT
NOW!
Learn from the Americans. John Kerry has announced that US
bombing of ISIS has killed 1000 Islamic fighters in 5
months. The Syrian observatory for Human Rights has given an
exact figure. 1075 killed in the US bombing.
See, there is no blood on the screen and 1075 converts to
Islam have been killed. No big deal. No one is crying over
1075 young people killed by B1 bombers and F16 jet fighters.
Those killed include a Saudi preacher, young man teaching
Quran to the converts, as well as a young Muslim from
Denmark who was giving first aid to the injured.
ISIS should watch the American Sniper movie. See one man
killed 150 Muslims. Not only no one is sad but audiences
across America are enjoying the movie. Poor sniper had to
decide to shoot a woman in hijab and a kid crazy enough to
defend Iraq against America. Way to go ISIS !
Stop chopping ! You are making me sick. Take that tall
masked English man off the screen!

ISLAMABAD: Defence officials said Monday that the United
States has assured Pakistan that Tehreek-i-Taliban (TTP)
chief Mullah Fazlullah would either be arrested or killed in
Afghanistan, adding that in case of an arrest he would be
subsequently handed over to Pakistan.
Briefing a Senate Defence Committee in Islamabad, defence
officials said that during his long visit to the US, Chief
of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif had also presented
vital evidence of Indian involvement in subversive
activities in Pakistan by using Afghan soil to top US
intelligence and defence officials.
Defence officials said US would also give Pakistan 1 billion
USD this year under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF).

Hate Propaganda Against ISIS is not Working:
20,000 Volunteers [ICSR report]
Tunisia [with a fake "democracy"] leads with 3,000
As if the Syria and Iraq conflicts weren't bad enough,
here's some more alarming news: the influx of foreign
fighters, which is to say foreigners volunteering to fight
for Sunni militant groups such as ISIS or al-Qaeda, has
reached an all-time high: as many as 20,000. According to a
new estimate from the International Center for the Study of
Radicalisation and Political Violence (ICSR), no conflict
since 1945 has ever attracted this many foreign
fighters.
That's a real problem — and not just for Iraq and Syria.
Some of these fighters will likely go on to attempt to plot
international terrorist attacks; others to travel from war
to war, making each of those bloodier in turn, much as the
foreigners who fought against the Soviet Union in
Afghanistan in the 1980s went on to cause trouble for a
generation.
According to the ICSR report, up to 20,730 people have gone
to fight for Sunni militant groups in Syria and Iraq.
Emphasis on "up to:" ICSR's report contains a range, and the
20,730 figure comes from adding all of the high-end
estimates together. Using low-end estimate comes out to
around 16,700. These estimates come from collating and
comparing government figures, media reports, and statements
from the militant groups themselves.
Still, that number already matches or even exceeds credible
high-end estimates for the number of foreigners who went to
fight against the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (about
20,000 foreign fighters). Until now, that conflict had
attracted more foreign fighters than any other since 1945.
And the wars in Syria and Iraq are very far from over.
Abu Umar al-Shishani, a Chechen national who has led ISIS
forces in western Iraq. (ISIS)
According to Peter Neumann, ICSR's director, it's very hard
to know what happens to these people after their initial
arrival in Iraq or Syria. The 20,370 number refers to the
total number who have ever fought in Syria or Iraq; many may
already be dead or back in their home countries. Neumann
does believe that the overwhelming bulk of these fighters
fought, at least at one point, either for ISIS or for Jabhat
al-Nusra, al-Qaeda's Syrian branch.
These fighters "have completely absorbed [radical] ideology,
and see themselves more-or-less as fighters," Neumann says.
"What happened after the Afghanistan conflict in the 1980s
was an internationally networked core of activists who were
seeing themselves as a rapid reaction force to whatever
happened in the Muslim world."
That post-Afghanistan network included al-Qaeda as we know
it today.
Broadly speaking, this sort of international network of
Syria and Iraq veterans poses two kinds of threats. First,
they might go back to their home countries — predominantly
in the Middle East, with contingents in Western Europe and
the former Soviet Union — and attempt terrorist attacks.
Second, they could travel from war to war in the Muslim
world, making each conflict worse as they go.
The majority of fighters who return home will not commit
terrorist attacks. According to Neumann, the highest-end
estimate suggests 25 percent will plan attacks back home.
One estimate from September suggested that less than one
percent of Western European foreign fighters in Syria and
Iraq had, to date, gotten involved in terrorism. Countries
with strong security services, like those in Western Europe,
are particularly well-positioned to foil plots.
"once the foreign fighters come in, it turns nasty"
Nevertheless, the threat from returnees is real. Attacks
planned by foreign fighters "tend to be [among] the more
lethal and more viable terrorist plots," Neumann says,
because foreign fighters have "military training,
motivation, and an international [support] network."
Moreover, some countries may be more threatened by foreign
fighters than others. For example, an estimated 1,500 to
3,000 of the fighters are from Tunisia, a young democracy
and the Arab Spring's big success story.
"There is a very strong recruitment network of Salafist
organizations that send people from Tunisia to Syria or
Iraq," Neumann says. "In the long term, [Tunisia] is facing
a big challenge of people coming from back from Syria and
Iraq. Perhaps one of the reason's it's so peaceful there is
that all of the troublemakers are in a different place."
However, a fair number of foreign fighters will never come
home. That shouldn't be comforting: many of those people
will simply become permanent warriors, flitting from hot
spot to hot spot and leaving chaos in their wake.
"Quite a few them ... will prefer to move on to the next
battlefront," Neumann says. If and when the Syria and Iraq
conflicts end or slow down, "I would expect quite a few of
them to want to move to Libya, maybe to Yemen, or maybe back
to Afghanistan."
These fighters will almost certainly make these conflicts
bloodier and more chaotic. According to Neumann, foreign
fighters are extreme even by jihadi standards. "They are
typically people who are not invested in a local situation
... they often see the conflict in very ideological terms,"
Neumann says,
In his view, that makes them more likely to commit
atrocities. That invites counter-atrocities, and can
polarize local conflicts on ethno-sectarian lines.
"There foreign fighters do make a conflict worse," Neumann
says. "Whatever conflict you look at in the 1990s and 2000s
— [like] Bosnia or Chechnya — once the foreign fighters come
in, it turns nasty."
Bombing Syria from USA, 6000 miles away.
By David MartinCBS NewsJanuary 26, 2015, 7:10 PM
How ISIS is bombed from a South Carolina facility
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The target was a poultry farm
that ISIS had turned into a staging area. It was located in
Syria but the planning for this air strike and hundreds like
it was carried out some 6,000 miles away at Shaw Air Force
Base in South Carolina.
"In a way like a detective does, we put together the picture
with all these bits of intelligence," said Staff Sergeant
Penney. In a typical week Penney and each of the other
analysts investigate up to 20 different locations to find
three legitimate targets.
"The ultimate intent is to build something that holds water
that makes it to the end - that is strikeable," Penney told
me.
It is a battle pitting the precision of American weapons
against an enemy spread out across two countries. "Precision
is the ability to very specifically know the exact
coordinates of any spot on the earth and to hit that spot
down to let's say a foot," said Colonel Scott Murray, the
chief intelligence officer for the air war.
Murray told us what it took to destroy a building ISIS was
using as a weapons factory.
"It was quite the structure," said Murray. "It did take
quite a few weapons to do it. "The first two hit and the
building disappeared in a cloud of debris. But 18 more
satellite guided bombs followed each with a delayed action
fuse.
It just allows the munition to penetrate deeper," said
Murray.
The air campaign is an impressive display of American
firepower, but is it winning the war against ISIS?Murray
says the bombings have helped regain "approximately 700
square kilometers."
Photo:ISIS target is hit by a U.S. air strike
That's all in Iraq where ISIS still holds 55,000 square
kilometers it seized from Iraqi and Kurdish forces. In Syria
ISIS is still expanding.
"ISIL has great leeway in northeast Syria," explained
Murray. "They're not opposed on the ground in that
region."
In March, the U.S. military plans to start training a force
of about 5,000 fighters to oppose ISIS on the ground in
Syria. But Pentagon officials say it will be late this year
or early next before they are capable of taking back lost
ground.

Second Boko Haram Attack on Maiduguri repelled with Heavy

Journalists not Allowed: Cameroon & Chad Attack Boko Haram.
[Sources: BBC, AFP and AP]
On February 1, Boko Haram mujahideen almost took the
strategic city of Maiduguri in north eastern Nigeria.. A
desperate defense by Nigerian military using heavy artillery
and jet fighters drove them back. The Nigerian military
suffered heavy losses and has not been able to venture out
of the city to pursue the retreating Islamic fighters.
On the other hand, the five hours of heavy artillery fire
and jet fighter-bomber attacks were too much for Boko Haram
who have no anti aircraft defenses.
Boko Haram have captured a string of ten Nigerian towns in
an enveloping movement to cut of Maidugurfi.
On January 28 the Nigerian air force bombed Boko Haram
fighters in the northern town of Malam Fatosi but the town
remains in Islamic hands.
Pro-western regimes are mobilizing to hit Boko Haram. A
force of 7500 heavily armed troops have been prepared.
Cameroon decided to support Nigeria against the Islamic
fighters but suffered heavily when Boko Haram entered
Cameroon and captured large swathes of territory resulting
in back and forth battles with Boko Haram.
On the point of losing, Cameroon got military support from
Chad. These highly trained Chadian troops have driven back
some of Boko Haram. Their jet fighters are also bombing

Iran, Russia ties help Syria fight terror: Velayati
February 1, 2015
A senior Iranian official says "constructive" cooperation
between Iran and Russia has helped the Syrian nation gain
the upper hand in its battle against the foreign-backed
militants wreaking havoc in the Arab country since 2011.
"Iran-Russia cooperation has been constructive, paving the
way for the Syrian government and nation [to continue] their
resistance under the legitimate leadership of Bashar
al-Assad," said Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior adviser to
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali
Khamenei, in an interview with al-Alam news network.
Ties between Tehran and Moscow have had a profound impact on
the developments in regional and international relations,
added Velayati, who was on an official visit to Russia last
week as Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's special
envoy.
Tehran and Moscow have, on numerous occasions, emphasized
the need for national dialogue among Syrian groups to help
resolve the crisis, which has claimed over 200,000 lives so
far.
Last year, Iran put forward a peace initiative, which
stresses a political resolution of the Syria crisis, the
territorial integrity, and independence of the Arab country
as well as its people's right to self-determination.
Moscow mediated negotiations on the Syrian crisis last week,
with six members of the Syrian government meeting 32 members
of various opposition groups. The initiative came after
previous UN efforts to stop the hostilities between the
conflicting sides in Syria failed to bear fruit.
Velayati further pointed to the expansion of Tehran-Moscow
ties in recent years, saying close relations between two
sides is reflected in their cooperation within the framework
of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), where the
Islamic Republic currently holds observer status.
Moscow, which is set to preside over the next SCO summit in
summer, can play a positive role in the decision to grant
Iran a permanent membership of the organization, Velayati
added.
The SCO is an intergovernmental organization that was
founded in 2001 in Shanghai by the leaders of China,
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan.
During his trip to Russia on January 28, Velayati held a
meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and gave
Rouhani's message to the Russian president in Moscow.
The two sides agreed on efforts for the promotion of Iran's
status at the SCO, according to the Iranian embassy in the
Russian capital.
Iran's 2008 application for full membership has so far been
blocked due to sanctions imposed on the Islamic Republic
over its nuclear program.

Hezbollah and Israel: A drama ended quickly.
On January 18, high ranking Hizbullah and Iranian officers
fell into a mujahideen ambush in the Qalamoun mountains. At
least eight top Hizbullah officers and several Iranians
including a general were killed.
Very embarrassed by this mujahideen victory, Hizbullah
claimed that it was an Israeli strike which killed the
officers and that it was near the Golan and promised to
retaliate in good time.
Al-Nusra challenged this claim and urged an inquiry into the
incident.
Iran too promised revenge against Israel.
Lebanon, Syria's regime and Israel remained silent seemingly
knowing what had happened. The funerals were carried out
discreetly and with hardly any identification of the
dead.
On January 28, near the Lebanon border, Hizbullah fired on
an Israeli vehicle, seemingly civilian but carrying Israeli
soldiers. Two Israelis were killed. Israel responded with
artillery and air strikes but no one was reported killed or
injured.
Two days later both Hizbullah and Israel signaled that they
would not extend the conflict any further.
[NT analysis: This Hizbullah has a free hand to attack the
mujahideen. Israel has not protested the violation of
international law with Hizbullah entering Syria. Nor have
the US and Israel protested the entry of Iranian forces into
Syria though Iran has suffered top level losses to the
mujahideen.]

Egyptian Military Suffered Heavily on January 29:
New Attacks near Gaza border on January 31.
A series of new attacks in northern Sinai were reported on
January 31. Numerous Egyptian troops were killed and wounded
but this time the Egyptians are not releasing details.
Earlier on January 31, coordinated mujahideen attacks killed
45 Egyptian troops and wounded more than 100 in and around
Al-Arish and Rafa and other areas. Looks like the army is no
match for the Islamic fighters.

Taliban Infiltrator Killed Three American Contractors in
High Security Area.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina-based firm says
it employed three military contractors who were shot to
death earlier this week in Afghanistan.
Praetorian Standard Inc. of Fayetteville identified the men
slain Thursday as Walter D. Fisher of North Myrtle Beach,
South Carolina; Jason D. Landphair of Fayetteville, North
Carolina; and Mathew E. Fineran of Summerville, South
Carolina.
The release issued Saturday by Thomas Lujan, an attorney for
the company, says another employee, Bradley A. James of
Atlanta, was wounded but expected to survive.
The company says it's meeting with the men's families.
The Pentagon has said the three Defense Department
contractors were killed at the Kabul airport by a man in an
Afghan uniform. The gunman was killed at the scene.

NYPD Using Patriot Act to Attack First Amendment Rights but
Women victims of Domestic Violence are Helpless
by Sis. Aisha [Jamaat al-Muslimeen]
This is an issue that has been getting worst since the
execution of two police officers in Bedford Stuyvesant
Brooklyn shortly before Christmas 2014.
New York City - On January 15, 2015, a 17 year old Osiris
Aristy was arrested in his Bushwick Brooklyn apartment for
posting terroristic threats against the NYPD on his Facebook
page. He used animated images of a police officer with a gun
to his head along with an "f the police" message. These
animated images are called emojis (pronounced ee-mo-jees). A
few young people have been targeted for arrest for
expressing their intense dislike for the police. This charge
is a felony, which carries a seven year prison sentence.
There were no verbal or text-based threats explicitly aimed
at the police by Aristy. Nothing but, animated images. The
law, now being used against people expressing so-called
anti-cop views, was created after 9/11 for Muslims. It is a
very broad law regarding terroristic threats. It still
remains that that a police officer's power is limited to
stopping a crime in progress or after it has occurred.
However, we know of many instances, involving Muslims, where
they have been arrested for thought crimes.
According to this statute, whether or not the perpetrator of
this terroristic threat can actually carry it out or ever
intended to do so is still no defense. Civil rights
attorneys, closely viewing this case, have stated that
although these actions are enough to make an arrest, they
are not enough to get a conviction. A grand jury is
currently looking at evidence in the case against Osiris
Aristy.
Amazing! Women in domestic abuse cases have to file a
restraining order against their abusive husbands or
boyfriends. They have no other recourse. Many of these same
women wind up raped, beaten or killed in murder suicides
when these ex-boyfriends ignore the restraining order. The
only thing a victim can do is call the police.
Domestic violence is more of a threat to American society
than a young boy's boastful antics against the police! How
about strengthening domestic violence laws that protect men
and women from a violent spouse or love-interest?
These Patriot Act laws have been politicized and used
against people who speak up and out against the government.
Four people, so far, have been arrested for posting
so-called anti-cop messages on their social media pages, in
New York City. The fight for justice and freedom in America
continues. In the beginning, there will be a tug-of-war
between the oppressor and the oppressed until the oppressed
can build up enough unity and strength to pull the other
side into the mud. (Courtesy of BuzzFeed.com)

Absolutely Innocent Matanov decides to Plead Guilty:How the
Oppressive Justice System Works. [Marathon bombing
case.]
by Sis. Karin Friedemann
Khairullozhon Matanov, 25 year old Kyrgyzstani immigrant and
friend of the deceased Tamerlan Tsarnaev, who is accused of
the Boston Marathon bombings, told me during a recent prison
visit that he decided to plead guilty to concealing evidence
and lying to the FBI, even though he is absolutely innocent.
The government is now only going to be asking for him to
serve 2 1/2 years due to changing his plea to guilty, though
the judge could possibly give him an even shorter
sentence.
However, the Patriot Ledger reported that under the new
charge, he would face "no more than five to eight years in
prison, depending on whether the offense is considered to
involve terrorism." So it sounds like the situation is very
much hanging in the balance.
Matanov's attorney requested a hearing earlier this month
after Matanov agreed to be interrogated by the government;
however, he doesn't have any incriminating information to
give.
Matanov was looking at 15 years for deleting files off his
computer (all of which were public information) and for
downplaying his relationship with the Tsarnaev brothers,
even though he actually went to the police station first
thing in the morning to identify them after the FBI put
their photo on the TV, thinking he was doing his duty by
telling them, "I don't think they did it but I know who they
are."
Prosecutors said Matanov called Tamerlan Tsarnaev about 40
minutes after the bombings and invited him to dinner. He is
accused of lying to the FBI about whether he met them at the
restaurant or whether he drove them there. He is guilty of
knowing the brothers, liking them, and even worshiping at
the same mosque. He is not accused of knowing anything about
the bombs.
Matanov was originally facing 40 years of imprisonment due
to "suspicious" wire transfers of money, some of which were
made using aliases, which the FBI insinuated could have been
terror related. He had wired money to people in many
different countries. However, the feds backed off that
charge pretty quickly after it was shown that Matanov could
account for all of these money transfers, most of which were
sent to needy relatives.
The God-loving kid worked 80 hours a week driving a cab in
order to pay for his father's heart surgery as well as his
family's other living expenses. It would be hard to find a
more decent human being than this brother.
Matanov was a subject of dirty journalist Michelle McPhee,
who wrote about him and Tamerlan in a seriously ridiculous
smear piece called "Inside the Mind of a Killer." McPhee has
been criticized repeatedly for writing apparently bogus news
articles calculated to sway the trial against the accused.
For example, she was the source of the "note in the boat"
based on "anonymous law enforcement" statements. (The
government is NOT going to use the boat confession as part
of their case, as it is not legally considered as admissible
evidence).
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's attorneys attempted repeatedly to
convince Judge O'Toole to find out which FBI agents have
been talking to the press, circumventing legal procedure.
O'Toole continues to say he's "concerned" about media links
but does nothing about it.
The judge in Matanov's case, Judge William Young, however,
has a reputation for being tough on media leaks. Matanov
filed a motion last month regarding media leaks and Young
responded by demanding a list from both the defense and
prosecution of anyone who had ever seen the FBI transcript
that mysteriously appeared online, or any other documents
related to the case. This may be the reason that the
government is suddenly willing to negotiate.
Unfortunately, the government put Matanov's lawyer under a
lot of pressure, so in order to get this plea deal he now
has to file a motion to withdraw the motion regarding leaks
to the media. This is very disappointing. That information
about the government agent who is making up stories for the
media, is pretty darn important and Young is the only judge
who might find out. But I guess Khair has to do what he has
to do.
He said of the government prosecutors: "They are very
powerful people."
The issue of whether he will be deported after time served
is undecided.
Matanov has many loving supporters who write to him. In a
letter to a supporter, which was circulated on Facebook, he
stated: "I know you guys support me, and I always claim I am
innocent. I still say I am innocent, but in this tough
environment I can't imagine getting a fair trial so that is
why I am accepting a plea deal. I hope you guys support me
and I thank you for everything you guys have done, for your
support. I mean it is unimaginable good to get tonnes of
support from people I have never met."
The young man has received many letters begging him not to
testify negatively against Jahar and advising him not to
drop the media leaks issue. It is not clear if all these
pending issues played a role or not, but on January 24, 2015
it was announced that Judge Young moved the hearing
regarding the potential plea deal to February 25, 2015.
Matanov's lawyer, Paul Glickman, would not comment when
asked if the expected guilty plea means Matanov has an
agreement with prosecutors and plans to testify against the
only surviving brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, at his trial.
