Palestinian Children in Israeli Prisons
Meet Malak al-Khatib:
The 14-year old Palestinian girl threatening Israel's mighty
army.
Malak was arrested, blindfolded and handcuffed near her
school in the West Bank and interrogated without adult
representation. She was sentenced in Israeli military court
to two months' jail for throwing stones at Israeli soldiers,
making her one of youngest Palestinians held by Israel.
Malak is one of about 180 Palestinian minors currently held
in Israeli jails.
Nineteen are between 14-16, according to Addamer, a prisoner
support and human rights group.
There are about 6,000 Palestinian political prisoners in
Israeli jails.

30 Filipino police commandos killed in clash with Islamic Fighters

MANILA, Philippines
More than 30 police commandos were killed in a clash with
Muslim insurgents Sunday in the southern Philippines in the
biggest single-day combat loss for Filipino forces in many
years, officials said.
Dozens of commandos had entered the far-flung village of
Tukanalipao at dawn looking for a top terror suspect, but
had a "misencounter" with members of the Moro Islamic
Liberation Front, Mayor Tahirudin Benzar Ampatuan of
Mamasapano town told The Associated Press by telephone.
Other insurgents in the area later joined in fighting the
outnumbered police forces, the mayor said.
The 11,000-strong Moro group signed a peace deal with the
government last year and forged a cease-fire, which has been
safeguarded by a Malaysia-led team of foreign truce monitors
and has halted major conflicts between the two sides for
years.
Ampatuan, the Moro group and military officials said the
police commandos did not coordinate their plan to enter the
Muslim rebel village before sunrise, apparently resulting in
the fierce fighting.
The fighting in the marshy village of cornfields and coconut
plantations subsided after several hours when members of a
cease-fire committee and foreign truce monitors intervened,
Ampatuan said, adding he deployed a team of village leaders
and guards, who saw more than 30 of the slain commandos
scattered in the battle scene.
"What they described to me was gruesome," Ampatuan said.
At least two villagers were wounded in the gunbattle. A few
thousand villagers fled from their homes near the scene of
the fighting, he said.
At least two Philippine security officials told The AP that
the target of the police commandos was Zulkifli bin Hir, a
Malaysian terror suspect known also as Marwan, who has been
blamed by U.S. and Philippine authorities for several deadly
bombings in the south. Marwan, who allegedly has provided
bomb-making training and funds to local al-Qaida-linked
militants, is believed to have been hiding in the country's
south since 2003.
The two officials spoke on condition of anonymity because
they were not authorized to talk to reporters about
operations to capture Marwan, who they said may have been
wounded or killed in Sunday's fighting.
Aside from Moro rebels, hardline insurgents who broke off
from the main Moro group a few years ago because they
opposed peace talks with the government also inhabit
Tukanalipao and outlying villages. Some of the Moro rebels
and breakaway insurgents are relatives and co-exist in the
same villages.
Ampatuan said his village leaders managed to extricate only
five of the policemen's bodies by nightfall because they
were afraid for their safety amid sporadic gunfire and the
darkness in the village, which is 2 to 3 kilometers (1.2 to
1.9 miles) from the nearest road.
It remains unclear how many police commandos entered the
village, he said, adding the death toll would likely
increase.
An initial police report seen by AP said at least 37 police
commandos perished in the fighting while 6 insurgents were
killed and 11 others wounded.
Military spokesman Col. Restituto Padilla said government
troops were helping the police retrieve the dead from the
scene of the clash. "No military units were involved the
fighting," he said.
While the tragic fighting underscored the difficulty of
forging peace in the long-volatile southern region, homeland
of minority Muslims in the predominantly Roman Catholic
country, it also showed how the cease-fire and the foreign
truce monitors, troops and rebels who jointly enforce it
have effectively prevented occasional flareups from
degenerating into a full-blown fighting that could endanger
the peace deal.
The pact, which was signed in March, aims to establish a
more powerful and better-funded autonomous region for
minority Muslims in the south and end a decades-long
rebellion. The conflict has left 150,000 people dead and
helped stunt development in the country's poorest region.
At least four smaller armed groups, including the
al-Qaida-linked Abu Sayyaf group, have continued fighting
government forces and staging attacks in the south.

Prophet Muhammad (saw): The Leader of Enlightenment
Mercy to the Universe
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّـهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿٢﴾ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿٣﴾
•
All praises be to Allah; the Cherisher and the Sustainer
of the Universe; the Merciful, the Mercy Giver. Q 1: 2-3
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ ﴿١٠٧﴾
• “
"We didn't sent you [O! Muhammad (saw)], but, as a Mercy
to the Universe (for all times)" Quran 21:107 - Allah spoke
the truth.
We should read and understand these verses as one message.
لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
, the worlds or the universe is all
inclusive term: all the worlds and all the creatures.
Growing Universe
Let's understand the vastness of the universe whose
knowledge is consistently growing:
Old song from Children Nursery Rhyme: "Twinkle, twinkle
little star ..." it was a child fantasy which never
explained Allah's domain or vastness of it.
Astronomers used to count stars in thousands, then in
millions until late Dr. Carl Sagen of Cornell University
published the book: "Billions and Billions." and the
knowledge about Allah went Wow! With the help of Hubble
Telescope, Mars Probe, and others such equipment we
understand it better the vastness of the Universe, Kai-naat:
learning about galaxies which are billions of light years
away. Known farthest one is 13.3 Billion light years away
from the earth.
It is very possible with the advancement of sciences and
technology and exploration that we may be able to reach
farther into the dark space and learn more about the vast
universe of Allah. We will learn about Allah's Mercy and
Rasool Allah (saw), the mercy to the universe for all
creatures.
Muhammad (saw) is not just another of prophet of Allah. (No
disrespect is intended for any of the prophets (as))
The Mercy to the worlds
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ ﴿١٠٧﴾
“
"We sent you (O! Muhammad, saw), but, as the Mercy to the
worlds (for all times)" Quran 21:107
As we learn about the vastness of the universe, Kai'naat, we
understand this verse better and develop a profound
understanding of the Mercy of Rasool Allah (saw).
Muhammad (saw) is the Mercy to all the creations of Allah.
He was indeed kind to human beings as well as to the animals
and he was even kind to his enemies.
Kindness towards his Enemies
-
Remember, a woman used to throw trash on Prophet (saw).
Instead of changing his route, he became concern when one
day she didn't repeat her routine. He inquired about her and
visited her when learned she is sick.
-
Remember the time, when he visited Taif with Zubair (ra)
for Tabligh and Dawa, on the encouragement of the Shaikhs of
the town, youth pelted him with rocks and stones caused him
severe injuries and so much blood oozing out from his body
and accumulated in his shoes. Allah sent angel Jibriel (as)
who told him that he brought the angel of mountains on the
order of Allah. If you wish, we can crush the dwellers of
Taif between these mountains. Instead, he reminded Jibriel
(as) that he is sent as Rahmatal-lil-Alameen: he made Dua
for the people of Taif and their descendants.

After the liberation of Makkah, Rasool Allah (saw)
declared general amnesty for Makkans even though some of
them were responsible for the killing of early Muslims
including one of his beloved uncle Hamza (ra).
That is Muhammad, the praiseworthy, the mercy to all the
creatures of the universe of Allah:
صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ
He Led Believers to Enlightenment
Prophet Muhammad (saw) leads you out of Darkness into Light:
رَّسُولًا يَتْلُو عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِ اللَّـهِ مُبَيِّنَاتٍ لِّيُخْرِجَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ ۚ وَمَن يُؤْمِن بِاللَّـهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُدْخِلْهُ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۖ
"A Messenger (of Allah) who demonstrate to you the Signs of
Allah, containing clear explanations, that he (Muhammad) may
lead forth the believers and who are involved in the
righteous deeds from the depth of darkness into Light." Q
65:11
In short, Prophet Muhammad (saw) enlightens us. He is the
one who started the Age of Enlightenment and Muslim
civilizations continued this process throughout the history.
For that reason, Allah also called him Sirajun Muneera, the
one who enlightens others, the Leader of Enlightenment. Q
33:46
وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّـهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا ﴿٤٦﴾
On the top of it, Allah has promised Jannah, Heaven to the
believers once they enlightened and engaged in the righteous
deeds. Q 65:11
Quran: The Book of Mercy
Thus begins the Process of Enlightenment with Mercy. It is
not only Prophet's personal kindness, but eternal Mercy,
which comes from the Book of Mercy, Quran, revealed upon him
by Allah.
وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ
“
"And We send down the Quran as healing and mercy for the
believers." Q 17:82
It is this Message which will lead and continue to lead
humanity out of darkness into the Light of Allah. It is the
process of Enlightenment: as we read, understand, live our
lives by it, and advance the message of Quran and the
Sunnah, the life example of Muhammad (saw), it will cure the
sick minds and hearts of the people of the world. Thus the
human beings will find the Mercy of Allah and they will find
peace and tranquility on the earth, and salvation in the
Akhirah, the last Day by following Rasool Allah (saw).
A Beautiful Model (of Conduct)
لَّقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّـهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرْجُو اللَّـهَ وَالْيَوْمَ الْآخِرَ وَذَكَرَ اللَّـهَ كَثِيرًا ﴿٢١﴾
“
"You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful model
(of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and Akhirah,
the Last Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah."
Q 33:21
Two places in Quran, Allah established the purity of the
character of Rasool Allah (saw): one place in Sura
al-Hazaab, Ch. 33 and directs us towards the beautiful model
(of conduct),أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ , the life example of Rasool
Allah from birth to his passing. The beauty lies in the
Prophet's compassion, his process of teaching, leadership,
and how he conducted his affairs: personal, family,
community, and humanity at large.
BEST MODEL - KHUL'QIN ADZEEM (Quran 68:4)
Second place in the Sura al-Qalam, Ch. 68, Allah assured
Rasool Allah (saw) about himself in the Holy Quran:
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤﴾
“
"And you stand on an exalted standard of character." Q 68:4
In other words, his character is free of any blemish, pure,
unadulterated. It is the Best Model! To me, it is "The Gold
Standard." We are required to take his model and transform
our lives accordingly with confidence, knowing we are not
following a mirage: Personal, Family, Community, Humanity,
and the world
Farsi Poet, Sheikh Sadi said it well:
He attained exaltation by his perfection,
He dispelled darkness by his beauty,
Beauteous are all his qualities,
Benediction be on him and on his family.
Total Obedience is commanded
It is the commandment of Allah to obey Allah and the
Messenger of Allah (Q 4:59):
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَطِيعُوا اللَّـهَ وَأَطِيعُوا الرَّسُولَ
It is established that Allah is perfect, Subhan-Allah, and
it is now established that the character of Muhammad (saw)
is free of any blemish
خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
and it is the
beautiful model,
أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
It makes the Faith of the believers strong and
unshakable.
قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّـهَ وَالرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿٣٢﴾
"Command (O! Muhammad) to the believers: 'Obey Allah, and
obey Allah's Messenger;' but if they turn back, Allah loves
not those who reject Faith, Kafiereen." Q 3:32
Promise of Great Reward
َمَن يُطِعِ اللَّـهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّـهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ ۚ وَحَسُنَ أُولَـٰئِكَ رَفِيقًا ﴿٦٩﴾
In this verse of Quran reassures the believers: 'All who
Obey Allah, and obey Allah's Messenger are in the company of
those on whom is the Grace of Allah, of the prophets (who
teach), the sincere ones (lovers of Truth), the witnesses
(who testify), and the Righteous (who do good): "Ah! What a
beautiful fellowship!"' Q 4:69
Good company is hard to find and one is judged in many
societies by the company one keeps. Here Allah has promised
us the best company provided if we obey Allah and the
beloved prophet of Allah.
The Path of Forgiveness
What is the path of forgiveness?
قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّـهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّـهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ
وَاللَّـهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿٣١﴾
Allah gives us the formulae: '(O! Prophet), tell the people:
"If you do love Allah, follow me: Allah will love you and
forgive you your sins: For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful."' Q 3:31
The Path of forgiveness is paved with faithfulness to Rasool
Allah (saw):
Urdu Poet Iqbal said it so we can understand it: "If you are
faithful to Muhammad (saw), We are with you; and don't worry
about this world We will give you the Pen and the Tablet to
write your own ticket." Jawabe Shikwa, Iqbal, Bange Dara.
Who shall we be faithful to? Indeed, we shall be faithful to
the one who is the beautiful model,
أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ
and
whose character is free of any blemish
خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
.
Who is dearer to us?
Rasool Allah (saw) has told us:
"None of you believes until I am dearer to him than his
father, his child, and all human beings." Hadith narrated by
Anas (ra) in Bukhari and Muslim
All human beings - a very inclusive phrase: He should be
dearer to us more than ourselves, our spouse, our children
and our grandchildren, our parents and grandparents, our
siblings, our relatives, our nation, our leaders, our
friends, and anybody else. Rasool Allah should be #1 for our
love and our allegiance.
This is indeed a challenge to us. If and when someone mock,
demonize, or attack the character of our beloved prophet
(saw), what should we do? Our love for the prophet is in
question.
Demonstration of Love
The companions of the Prophet (ra) has demonstrated their
love for the beloved Prophet (saw). Let me share 3 examples
briefly:
-
When it became difficulty for Muslims, he asked them to
migrate first to Ethiopia, then to Madina. When he learned
about a plot to kill him and his house was surrounded by
armed people, he left Ali in his bed. Ali risked his life
for the Prophet - This is love!
-
On the way to Madina, Rasool Allah (saw) and Abu Bakr
(ra) hid in a cave. Abu Bakr (ra) closed all the holes on
cave walls and floor except one which he covered it with one
of his toe. A poisonous snake bit Abu Bakr (ra) and didn't
even scream. A spider covered the entrance with her net. A
shepherd took a chance with his life and followed Rasool
Allah and Abu Bakr with his goats and sheep to erase their
footsteps - This is the love for Rasool Allah even of the
spider.

At Ohad, it was feared that Rasool Allah (saw) was
martyred. He was protected by a group of Muslim women who
defended him and when it became difficult to fend off the
attack, they covered Holy Prophet(saw) with their bodies and
received serious injuries - Isn't that love?
So, let's ask ourselves: where is our love for the prophet
Muhammad (saw)?
Attacks on Rasool Allah (saw)
It is not something new. It also happened in the past:
-
During the British Raj in India, one man wrote and
published a book: "Rangeela Rasool; Play Boy Rasool
(na-awozo-billah) to tarnish the image of Prophet Muhammad
(saw).
-
Salman Rushdi wrote a fiction: "Satanic Verses" to
tarnish his family (na-awozo-billah) .
-
Danish newspaper published cartoons which depict Rasool
Allah as a warmonger (na-awozo-billah). Many other papers
republished those cartoons.
-
Harsi Ali got elected to the Netherland Parliament and
started rant against Islam and helped a film-maker to make a
very damaging film against Islam and Muslims.
Recent Attack on Rasool Allah (saw): Charlie Hebdo
Latest, Cabu, a rightwing magazine owner who loved
recolonization of Muslim land, and against Islam published
very insulting cartoons about Prophet Muhammad (saw) in his
magazine, Charlie Hebdo:
Muslim leadership and organizations in the West falling all
over each other to denounce the alleged killers of Charlie
Hebdo staff. As if on cue from higher up! No mention of what
the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo have been doing
intentionally. No one questioned the staff, management,
financiers, and the cartoonists: "What did Prophet Muhammad
(saw) do either to them or to France? Prophet Muhammad (saw)
is not even living tday to defend himself. The world is
having a laugh on his expense!
Then all the supporters of Charlie Hebdo hiding behind
"Freedom of Speech!" showing up for solidarity march with
high security. No one question them on their record on Free
Speech.
They are bullies!
In the words of one Lebanon's religious leader, Sheikh
Hassan Nasrullah: "It is all about their laws, their
culture, their religion, their history, their civilization
..." It is well evident from the solidarity march in support
of their laws and freedom.
The Story of Ilmuddin
During the British Raj in India, a writer wrote a book:
"Rangeela Rasool"; Play Boy Rasool (na-awozo-billah) in 1927
to tarnish the image of Prophet Muhammad (saw). It was
publish as by an Anonymous writer. The writer was killed by
a person named Ilmuddin who was arrested by the British
Indian police.
One of the top leaders of Pakistan movement, Mr. Muhammad
Ali Jinah was a famous and very successful attorney in those
days. He approached Ilmuddin and told him, "If you change
your plea that you didn't kill the writer, I will save
you."
Ilmuddin replied Mr. Jinah, "What's in saving my life when
the honor of Rasool Allah (saw) is tarnished." He was
sentenced to death.
Cultural War
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿٤﴾
"And you stand on an exalted standard of character." Q 68:4
Allah has assured us that Rasool Allah's Character is free
of blemishes. By mocking him in a cartoon or ridiculing him
and his family in a fiction creates doubt and confusion
about his character as the Gold Standard. By demonizing him
it weakens the morale of the Muslim community and the Ummah.
This is indeed the process of Cultural War: We are better
than you are!
Political Scientist, Samuel P. Huntington, published his
hypothesis on Clash of civilization in the issue of Foreign
Affairs, 1994: "...fundamental source of conflict in this
new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily
economic. The great divisions among human kind and the
dominating source of conflict will be cultural ..."
Then the powerful nations and their think tanks started to
realize Huntington's Hypothesis. Developed "the New American
Century" document signed by the neocons, and military
doctrine New World Order emerged"

West's blasphemy Cartoons are extremism pushing world to

LAHORE, Jan. 23; Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Paksitan, Sirajul
Haq, has said that the path of extremism chosen by the
western world regarding the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet
(SAW could push the world to the third world war, and the UN
must frame international law prohibiting the blasphemy of
the prophets of God to preserve world peace.
Addressing a mammoth Glory of The Messenger [pbuh] rally
organized by the JI in Islamabad on Friday, he said that the
US and its allies had indulged in extremism and warned that
"we will chase anyone who commits any act of blasphemy". He
said the US had a hand behind every terrorist activity in
the Muslim states. He said that France would have to tender
an apology over the blasphemy of the Noble Prophet (SAW).
" We feel that the responsibility of the war would lie on
the extremist lobby in the west that is indulging in the
blasphemy of the Holy Prophet and making a mockery of Islam"
he said.
Large number of the Christians joined the rally with Crosses
in their hands. They also set the French flag to fire at the
rally to condemn the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet by a
French journal. oly Prpeht and is making a mockery of islam.
Federal Minister for Railways, Khwaja Saad Rafique, speaking
on the occasion, said that the blasphemy of the Beloved
Prophet was journalistic terrorism and was simply
intolerable. He said that through a conspiracy, the Muslim
world was being instigated to resort to violence. He said
the government would soon bring forth a draft bill to
prevent the blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (SAW) for
legislation at world level.
Thousand of people joined the rally that started from
Faizabad fly over and terminated at Blue area in Islamabad.
Sirajul Haq said that a Muslim could never be an extremist
because extremism, violence, hatred and biases were alien to
the teachings of Islam and the Noble Prophet (SAW).
On the other hand, he said it was the west that had
challenged the Muslim world by printing the verses of the
Holy Quran on the back of nude women. Europe was giving
protection to Salman Rushdi and Tasleema Nasreen who had

The JI chief said the heads of forty states had gathered in
France on the murder of seventeen people. "But why did the
west's conscience not arise on the massacre of the Muslims
in Palestine", he asked. He said that millions of Muslims
had been killed in the war imposed by the US on Afghanistan,
Iraq, Pakistan and other Muslim countries but the world
conscience did not arise".
Sirajul Haq said? history bears witness that it had been the
west, the US and its allies that had indulged in extremism.
"What sort of secularism it is that permits the killing of a
Egyptian woman inside a court room only for wearing Hijab
and the court did not take notice of the murder?, he asked.
"I am giving a message to US President Obama that you have
thrown a challenge to the Islam and your intelligentsia is
saying that this is the beginning of the crusades. If so,
you must also remember Salahud Din Ayubi",
He said that France would have to tender apology to the

Hafiz Idrees Hails Good Relations with Christians
LAHORE, Jan. 23: Deputy chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Hafiz
Muhammad Idrees, has said that those publishing the
blasphemous caricatures had the backing of the Zionist lobby

Addressing the Friday congregation at the Mansoora mosque
here, he said that the Pope Francis had represented the

The government, he said, was working on the US plan to

religion and the madrissahs that was a step towards eroding

rejected by the masses. He said one would pity the wisdom of

extortionists and the criminals involved in the dead bodies

Nusra Front & other Islamic fighters take strategic base in
south

AMMAN, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Syrian insurgents including
fighters from al Qaeda's Nusra Front, seized an important
government army base in the southwestern Deraa province on
Sunday, fighters who took part in the battle said.
The base, one of several used to pound rebel-held villages
and towns in southern Syria and along the frontier with
Jordan, lies at the heart of a heavily fortified zone which
has formed a southern line of defence protecting the
capital, Damascus.
The fighters said hundreds of insurgents armed with rocket
launchers and anti-aircraft weapons had taken over the
Brigade 82 base near the town of Sheikh Maskeen, close to
the main north-south highway between Damascus and Jordan.
"This advance will help us cut supply routes of the regime
forces in the south from their supplies in the north to be
able to eventually take over Deraa city," Colonel Saber
Safar, a leader of the First Army, a major faction of
Western-backed rebels in the "Southern Front" grouping, told
Reuters by phone.
The rebel gain is the latest advance in the south, where
President Bashar al-Assad's forces have been on the
defensive, losing control of large areas of countryside as
well as parts of the border along with Israel near the Golan
Heights, according to regional military experts and
diplomats.
Fighters said the capture of the base had helped them to
overrun most of the nearby town of Sheikh Maskeen, which
they have attacked several times in last few months, but
failed to seize.
The town is one of the main army supply routes to the city
of Deraa, along the border with Jordan that was mainly in
government hands.
The south is the last major stronghold of the mainstream,
anti-Assad opposition, who have been weakened elsewhere by
the expansion of the ultra-hardline Islamic State group in
the east and north, and gains by the Nusra Front in the
northwest.
However, Nusra is fighting in the south alongside the
Western-backed groups, who have proved more united there
than in other parts of Syria.
In a separate development on Sunday, Islamist fighters
struck the Syrian capital with at least 38 rockets, killing
seven people, a monitoring group said, in one of heaviest
attacks on Damascus in over a year.
The Saudi-backed Islam Army had warned earlier that it would
hit back against an air strike last week in the eastern
Ghouta region near Damascus, in which more than 40 people

Unraveling Syria: Many Little Groups of Citizens are
Fighting back Against Assad

Many good people sincerely believe that the Syrian
revolution is a CIA-Mossad plot against Bashar Assad, who
they think is against Israel. Other well-meaning people are
convinced that that ISIS is a CIA-Mossad plot to undermine
the legitimacy of the Free Syrian Army.
"95% of ISIS weapons are from Russia who are likewise arming
Assad and therefore Russia profits both sides of the
engineered conflict," insisted an FSA supporter. "If FSA was
supported by USA - then Assad would be gone, tried and
sentenced to death for his war crimes against all of Syria 4
years ago and ISIS would not exist."
In order to try and clarify the mystery of who's who in the
Syrian war, I talked to Ahmed, a Syrian-American opponent of
the regime, whose family members recently fled the country.
His family has suffered brutally under the Assad regime for
decades.
He wanted me to be aware that the Syrian uprising began
after 40 years of oppression. Spontaneously in 2011 some
young kids in the south of Syria in the city of Dara wrote
"Freedom! Freedom" on a wall. They were arrested by the
secret police. One kid's body was returned to his family
after being tortured to death. The other kid was returned
alive with his fingers chopped off.
Protests against the government spread throughout the
country over the next month. Law enforcement shot live
ammunition at demonstrators. Townspeople started gathering
to defend the demonstrators with personal arms such as
AK-47.
Within six months, low rank Sunni army personnel started
mass defections from the military, because they did not want
to shoot their own people. The high ranking officers are all
Alawite. The ex-military Sunnis turned freedom fighters
started gathering and made connections in border areas in
Turkey and Jordan. The Syrian border with Turkey is
mountainous and there are many villages, which makes it easy
to escape. But the border with Iraq is desert and it is very
difficult.
There was no Islamic movement the first year of the
uprisings. Only small arms were used on both sides. The
second year, 2012, the Assad regime became increasingly
unstable and started sending in tanks and doing aerial
bombardment of civilian populations. At this point,
humanitarian volunteers from Bosnia, Chechnya, Afghanistan,
Saudi Arabia, Iraq started pouring in for emotional and
religious reasons. The local population welcomed them on an
individual basis. There was no official organization. The
people started grouping and making connections in nearby
countries where they could travel and visit.
As the movement got bigger, the original freedom fighters
who defected from the army went to retire in nearby
countries for a number of reasons: There was no financial
support for their families, and they were not people of high
ideology who want to die for the sake of Islam. Neighboring
countries hosted 2000 high ranking Syrian ex-officers to
keep as assets to use for future influence, when it appeared
the regime would fall. However, these officers cannot leave.
They are kept in some kind of camps or living quarters..
Then, the Syrian government asked for help from Iran and
Lebanon's Hizbollah to fight for the Shia. The Syrian
government is not Shia. Shia is a sect of Islam. They are
Muslims. The Alawite are not Muslims. Historically, France
declared Alawites as Shia. But Syria is not Shia.
Many people mistakenly believe that Syria is defending
Al-Aqsa, even though on the Israel/Syria border, nobody ever
tried to attack Israel. This is Israel's most stable border,
protected by Assad. Iraq is under the influence of Iran.
Iran doesn't want Syria to be Sunni.
At this point, there are hundreds of fighting groups, said
Ahmed, who says he truly believes that ISIS was started by
foreign agents but lost control "just like the Taliban." The
majority of the leaders of ISIS are high-ranking Iraqi
ex-army officials, who used to work for Saddam Hussein. The
Iraqi army was the 4th largest army in the world. They are
now working with foreign intelligence and serving in ISIS
and getting income from foreign countries, plus plunder.
Ahmed said that the majority Syrian population does not want
a conservative Islamic state. They are Islamic liberals.
They like to have fun. They have no interest in
fundamentalism or "radical Islam." Western injustice and
aggression leads to IS politics, he said.
I asked, "When there is no government and everything is
destroyed, wouldn't it be natural for the town to meet at
the mosque, and if there is no law, it would be easiest to
use Islamic law?"
"People will go back to their natural religion when there is
no infrastructure other than the madrasa," stated Ahmed, who
has spent significant time in Afghanistan. However, he did
not feel that Syria was anything like Afghanistan.
In the 1970's, Wahhabis from Saudi Arabia came to
indoctrinate Syrians but people argued against them.
Nevertheless, like Bosnia, Syrians will welcome those who
help to control Syria and establish order and peace.
Ahmed said the west is pushing Syria to the point where they
will say, "Please bring anyone, even another Alawite, to get
rid of Assad" to stabilize the region. No matter what, it
will take 25-50 years to rebuild the country to what it
was.
Regarding the Free Syrian Army, he said there are three
kinds: those who gave up and left the country, those who
will fight for whoever pays more, and those who are
controlled by third parties. He had a higher opinion of
al-Nusra, whom he said number in the thousands, not
hundreds. The majority of al-Nusra are Syrians not foreign
fighters. They have the best fighters. They have good
individual support but also have influence with high rank
people. Both Saudi Arabia and Jordan try to send their
infiltrators to get high ranks to try and get influence or
reward.
The "sincere fighters" don't belong to any big party or
private agenda. The majority of Syrian fighters belong to
loose small groups. Around Homs and Damascus, in the
revolution areas, there could be 15-20 small groups of 100,
200 or 300 militia men for every local area. Some groups
make Islamic council and unify with groups like al-Nusra or
Ahrar al Sham.
I mentioned the news that Iranian General Mohammad Ali
Allahdadi was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Syria along
with six Hizbollah fighters in the Golan Heights. Ahmed said
that on that same day, the Syrian opposition shot down a
small plane that was filled with high ranking Iranian,
Jordanian and Hizbollah officials. He theorized that the
media gave Israel credit for the killing in order to
downplay the powerful news of the Syrian resistance.
Regarding foreign funding, he mentioned a few weeks back
there was a local militia named Hazen that took money from
America but then gave it to al-Nusra.

Fleeing Nigerian Army launched air strikes, imposes curfew
Maiduguri (Nigeria) (AFP) - Boko Haram Islamists on Sunday
captured the northeastern town of Monguno, including a
military base, after a fierce battle with Nigerian troops,
security sources told.
"Monguno has fallen, Monguno has fallen," said a senior
military officer, who asked not to be identified because he
was not authorised to talk to the media.
"We fought them all night long but they took over the town,
including the military barracks there," he said.
Another security source confirmed that the Islamist
militants had taken over the town, which lies some 137
kilometres (85 miles) from the Borno State capital,
Maiduguri.
"It is true our troops lost Monguno to Boko Haram. They have
taken over the town and the military barracks. "Our troops
had to withdraw after fighting the terrorists for several
hours. They came in full force and at the end overpowered
our men", he said.
He said troops were making efforts to reclaim the town and
the barracks.
"Our fear now is that families of some of our men are
trapped in the barracks and of course, the locals, including
men and women and children need to be rescued," he said.
"We also have fighting equipment there and it will be
dangerous to leave them at the mercy of the terrorists," he
said. Hundreds of Boko Haram militants had staged a pre-dawn
strike on Monguno, causing terrified locals to flee as
soldiers massed. Analysts said the insurgents might be
targeting the town in their push towards south.
However, others have suggested recently that they might be
seeking as much weaponry as possible fearing a possible
regional counter-insurgency operation. Defence spokesman
Chris Olukolade confirmed the seizure of Monguna, but said
calm had returned to Maiduguri and Konduga -- two other
cities -- also attacked by Boko Haram gunmen on Sunday.
"Meanwhile, an exclusive coordinated air campaign has taken
over from ground forces in Monguno, as troops had to retreat
from the location after the Brigade Commander and some of
the troops were wounded while repelling terrorists attack on
the town today, " he said.

Religious leader of Dearborn mosque threatens to resign
The religious leader of the Islamic Center of America - a
landmark religious institution in metro Detroit that's one
of Michigan's biggest mosques - said Friday he would resign
unless the board of trustees dissolves.
The dramatic announcement by Imam Hassan Al-Qazwini to his
packed congregation was met by cries of support from members
pleading for him to stay and reflects an intense debate in
one of the most notable mosques in the U.S. over finances,
ethnicity, and what is permissible under Islam.
Al-Qazwini said he was the victim of anti-Iraqi racism from
some board members of Lebanese descent, calling upon
supporters to back him at a board meeting on Sunday.
Imam Hassan Al-Qazwini's opponents have accused him of using
donations to the mosque for family projects and of having an
illicit relationship, charges he strongly denies.
A nationally known Muslim leader, Al-Qazwini announced he
was stepping down during his Friday afternoon sermon, the
most popular gathering time for Muslims. Afterward, when
members asked him to stay, Al-Qazwini said he would
reconsider if the board dissolves.
"The entire board has to be dissolved, with the exception of
the founding fathers" of the mosque, Al-Qazwini said,
according to a recording of his afternoon sermon. "The
entire system has to be dissolved. The by-laws have to be
dissolved."
"Get rid of the rotten apples" on the board or I'll leave,
Al-Qazwini said Friday night in a separate talk to a packed
crowd with the mosque's Young Muslim Association.
Al-Qazwini's announcement came after a tumultuous past few
months that saw anonymous letters accusing him of diverting
mosque money for his father's projects in Iraq. Al-Qazwini's
critics want the money instead to retire the remaining debt
of the mosque and to help for projects in other countries,
such as Lebanon. A majority of the congregation is of
Lebanese descent, while Al-Qazwini is of Iraqi descent.

The letters also accused Al-Qazwini, who is married, of
having a relationship with a woman through an arrangement in
Shia Islam known as mutah (temporary marriage), which allows
a man away from his wife to have sex with another woman that
may involve a payment.
There were three sets of letters, mailed from October to
December, said mosque members. They also appeared on the
windshields of cars parked outside the mosque during a
religious service in November.
"Qazwini is the main obstacle which prevent the payment of
all the debt," one of the letters reads in part. It said
that Al-Qazwini "takes the ... contributions and revenues"
and gives them to his father, Mortada Al-Qazwini, a
religious leader in Iraq who runs a hospital and orphanage
in Iraq.
On Nov. 28, supporters of Al-Qazwini held a rally outside
the mosque, which sits off Ford Road in Dearborn. It's one
of the oldest Islamic congregations in Michigan and has
become known as an icon of Islam in the U.S.
Speaking Friday night to a packed crowd of a youth group,
Al-Qazwini strongly denied the allegations contained in the
letters, which were mailed last year to the homes of Muslims
who attend the mosque. He admitted he sent some money to his
father's orphanage in Iraq, but said that's a legitimate
institution.
"Remove this cancer," Qazwini said of board members
attacking him "who are racist, who are selfish...We need to
stand up."
In his 45-minute talk Friday night, Al-Qazwini said he's
been attacked often by some board members who don't like the
fact he is Iraqi.
"For 18 years, I kept my mouth shut," he said. "I'm not
going to take it anymore."
The letters also criticized Al-Qazwini for supporting Ron
Amen, chair of the board, claiming he was not an observant
Muslim. Amen could not be reached for comment.
During his talk Friday night, Al-Qazwini said the board was
pressuring the center to hire unqualified people with ties
to the board rather than the most qualified applicants.
Kassem Allie, executive administrator of the Islamic Center,
angrily interrupted Al-Qazwini, saying: "That's a lie...I'm
qualified."
Backers of Al-Qazwini then shouted their support, drowning
out Allie, who left the room.
After Al-Qazwini announced Friday in Arabic he was leaving,
some started to cry out their support, including Moussa
Hamka. Hamka then spoke at the mosque in support of
Al-Qazwini.
"The community rallied in support of him," Hamka told the
Free Press afterward. "There was an unprecedented amount of
support at the Friday prayers. ... The community supports
the imam. We're not going to allow the status quo to
continue."
Hamka said that members of the mosque began chanting
Al-Qazwini's name in a show of support.

put together an advertorial, part article and part
advertisement, on Nigeria and The Congo in Africa. If anyone
knows anything about what is going on in Africa, you will
know that both regions are in turmoil. Nigeria's Boko Haram
is trying to undermine the efforts of those Africans, such
as President Goodluck Johnny, who are working with the
Western imperialists to continue to exploit the natural
resources. The Congolese have been engaged in a
Belgian-funded civil war over the same issue: Africans
fighting for independence versus those helping to keep the
Belgians in control of all of the resources.
Both African countries have been profiled as new places to
invest and create an incredible amount of wealth but, for

this turmoil, in Africa, European business interests remain

Mark Wahlberg, 43, is a Hollywood actor with a disturbing
past. A Black person with a similar past would find it
difficult to get any work in Hollywood, unless he was a gang
banger shooting other Black men. Mark Wahlberg, of the
interracial hip hop group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch
fame, and his older brother Donnie, from New Kids On The
Block (NKOTB) teen music group, ran with violent, racist
gangs on the streets of Boston when they were younger. I
remember Donnie Wahlberg, now a Hollywood actor, giving
interviews re-telling his days as a gang banger and trying
to steer kids away from that life. A friend of mine, who
grew up in the outskirts of Boston, had to educate me on the
fact that these were not simple neighborhood toughs
intimidating locals but, racist gangs where they beat up
mostly non-Whites!
It is important to understand the mind of the White
oppressor and how it functions throughout his/her life. Now,
at age 43, Mark Wahlberg wants to become a law enforcement
agent and that comes with the privilege of gun ownership.
Why does he want this career? No one knows
When Mark Wahlberg was in his teens he and his gang chased a
group of fourth graders while yelling racial slurs and
throwing bricks and stones at them. He and his friends
caused head injuries to two girls - one White and the other
Black. The Black victim, now an adult, does not believe that
Wahlberg should be allowed to join any law enforcement
agency. However, the White teacher, Mrs. Deshaies, who
brought those inner city kids to that mostly White area
states that all is forgiven and that Wahlberg should be
given a second chance. Interesting.
A teacher is a surrogate mother and takes charge of children
until they are released back into their parents custody. The
fact that she forgives someone who tried to and did
seriously injure a few of "her" children just proves that
White Supremacist lies have skewed her point of view of the
world. She is blinded by the white or cannot see past her or
Wahlberg's whiteness.
This incident occurred in 1986, which would have made him 14
years old going on 15. Well, he only came out with the group
Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in 1989 only 3 years later!
It was 1988, only a year before his new found stardom, that
he beat two Vietnamese men so badly that he wound up serving
a measly 45 days in jail. He was 16 years old and charged as
an adult. His racist mindset did not change in 3 short
years! Even while he was a member of the hip hop group, Mark
Mark and the Funky Bunch, he was unleashing his fists of
fury in beat downs!
In 1992, he beat a security guard, Robert D. Crehan, so bad
the guy needed his jaw wired! Wahlberg was able to avoid any
jail time by using his money, made from his interracial hip
hop group, to pay this guy off!
It is always strange how racist Whites are able to get in
good with us. They are as racist as they can be but, they
marry Black or Latino. Speak Spanish or form
Jazz/Latin/R&B/Hip Hop groups playing our music and doing
our dances, speaking our slang. This means nothing to the
White racist mind. They simply enjoy doing these things.
That's all! White folk have been doing this for awhile!
What men like Mark Wahlberg do is ADAPT! They keep getting
into trouble for doing the same things their parents,
grandparents, great grand parents got away with doing until
a light bulb goes off and they realize that their generation
can no longer get away with doing those same violent things
anymore. So, what do they do? They join law enforcement
agencies where their crimes can be covered up by corrupt
prosecutors and judges. Who knows? May be Wahlberg has a
score to settle with a non-White person from his youth!

proven to transcend race, religions, and other cultures.
There are people, especially those who are White, who

enforcement officer is if the Massachusetts Governor pardons

A real Boycott will be effective. It requires Complete
change of our Lives.
As a father, nothing is more painful than seeing our Muslim
children around the world suffering. We see the Syrians,
Palestinians, Iraqi, Afghani - slaughtered and their blood
streaming into rivers.
However, as I sat watching, listening and reading the many
many condemnations of the Israeli atrocities against our
brethren in Palestine, on websites, in the masjid, on
youtube, news agencies around the world - after seeing all
the appeals, petitions, marches, protests and pleas for help
from many organizations and people, this is the thought that
came to mind:
Why would Allah (swt) - hurt his own people who worship
him?
Then, i thought - Allah loves his people 70 times more than
a mother loves her children. Then why is Allah allowing this
to happen??
After opening the Quran and reading numerous Ahadith - the
answer was clear. When Allah's anger is in full force - when
his obedience is lost, when his beloved messenger example is
mocked, when his people forget his message and his prophetic
way -- He (swt) will send reminders.
War, blood, pain, killing and the loss of our innocent
children -- the only reminder we understand.
With over 50 years of Palestinian conflict - years of debate
- our eyes, hearts are sealed with the real problem. Syrian
massacre in front of us - a country shredded with no end of
war in sight. Iraq millions butchered. Afghanistan shelled
for decades...and all the other Muslim nations similar and
screaming for help......The cause?
The cause is not the Jews, Zionists, Munafiqeen, Freemasons,
Bilderberg-- they are not the reason - but only a means; a
tool Allah has used to wake up this ummah.
But 99% are still asleep. Our minds our engrossed in this
world, love of the competition of success - glory, glamour,
status and power and forget fullness of death. Our race is
for the biggest house, a collection of cars, fancy number
plates, a glamorous lifestyle, a parade of shops, a huge
bank balance - a wardrobe of designer clothes, shoes,
phones, holidays, watches...the list is eternal...
Until and unless, the collective ummah, does not STOP the
copycat lifestyle of the disbelievers - the kuffar, behaving
like kuffar and supporting the kuffar activities, blending
our belief -- Allah azza wa jall will withhold HIS support.
He will turn the mercy OFF until you submit to him 100%. You
can appeal in millions on every street - in every country -
but it will be a grain of sand in weight. Millions marched
to stop the invasion of Iraq and still -- the bombing
pounded every city and rubbled masjids. Millions marched in
Egypt -- their country destroyed. Millions march and
cry....but how many do tawba, repent and change and submit
to Allah and follow a real Islam?
It is no use criticizing the jews if we have not changed our
appearance, our entertainment and our culture to that of our
beloved NABI sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. We cannot persist
in supporting them through watching their filth on t.v,
hollywood trends, dancing to music, wearing their haraam
clothing and eating doubtful foods and then cry foul when
they eat us alive! The change that is needed is not in
Washington, tel aviv or London. It is in the homes,
lounges,. kitchens and workplace -- of every single reciter
of the kalimah.
I challenge every one of u my brothers & sisters, throw out
that evil box that damages our thinking, our morals and our
imaan! Then we will see the help of Allah descend. If we
behave like Muslims, then Allah has promised,'wa kaana
haqqan alaynaa nasrul mumineen' 'It is a right upon us to
help the believers'
Making propaganda and insulting jews is not helping, they
are only one nation who Allah is using - and now its Edl,
Bnp, Britain first - in the UK. Who and why were they
created? Why would Allah allow groups to terrorize the
Muslims and insult his prophet (saw)
...the truth is we are the Insult - the Muslims of 2014.
In each every home is a Salman Rushdie, Tommy
Robinson...they are kufaar - but you the Muslim today
say..... that Islam is too difficult, lets blend the east
and west, lets integrate our wires....our children....you
don't need to practice the sunnah - it's an option...I can't
pray at work my boss will get upset...I can't grow my beard
or my wife will curse me....my mum will throw me out....I
can't get a job....so on, so on...etc.
The question is 'WHO ARE WE- What type of Muslim are
we???'
