THOUGHT Of THE DAY
The defeat and dismantling of
Israel
is essential to world peace.
There is no reason why the
Zionist
Jews should not leave the lands they have occupied.
Israel has committed too many crimes and has no future other than defeat.
The future belongs to
Islam,
be it in
Iraq,
Afghanistan,
Chechnia,
Sudan,
Kashmir
or
Palestine.
These are Muslim lands and sooner or later will be restored to the Muslims.
The Qur'an
has promised victory to the believers.

WOMEN IN ISLAM:
Be kind and compassionate to your mother (or your aunt) so that Allah
may forgive your sins:
"A person came to Muhammad, peace be on him, and said: O messenger of Allah,
I have committed a great sin. Will my repentance be accepted (by Allah)?
He (the messenger) replied: Is your mother alive? He (the man) said: No.
He (the messenger) asked: Do you have an aunt? He said: yes!
The messenger (pbuh) said: Go and be kind, compassionate and caring to her."

Sunan of Tirmidhi]

PAKISTANI
SCHOLAR'S HOME IN OTTAWA RAIDED BY RCMP
SON ARRESTED: Could be Attempt to Silence Outspoken Critic
Dr. Mahboob Khawaja is a pre-eminent Pakistani scholar who has numerous
publications and who writes off and on for New Trend.
Early on March 30, 2004 his home in Orleans, near Ottawa,
Canada by raided by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police [RCMP].
The raid was carried out like a military attack as if terrorists
were being targeted.
The Canadian force burst into the peaceful home,
wrecked the peace of the family and behaved in a way which showed the
savagery of Canadian racism.
Dr. Khawaja was not there but his son, Momin was arrested.
The police refused to divulge any charges against Momin and would not
tell Canadian newsmen why the raid was carried out.
A
CBC
journalist contacted
New Trend
and informed us of the tragic raid on a peaceful home.
A day after the raid,
it's still not clear why this shameful act was carried out against a family
which has never broken the law.
One can only speculate that Dr. Khawaja's criticism of
U.S.
foreign policy and his strong words against the vicious Musharref regime
in Pakistan may be behind this outrage.
The Canadian government seems to be trying blindly to please the U.S.
government.

Mounties arrest man during raids in Ottawa
By MARY NERSESSIAN
From Tuesday's
Globe and Mail
One man has been arrested after heavily armed officers from the
RCMP's anti-terrorism unit executed two search warrants in the
Ottawa area yesterday.
"The RCMP executed search warrants in Ottawa in relation to an ongoing
criminal investigation," RCMP Corporal Natalie Deschenes said last night.
The RCMP would not confirm the age or name of the man who had been arrested.
Cpl. Deschenes would say only that the arrest was connected to a
search warrant.
"As this is an ongoing criminal investigation it would be inappropriate
to comment further," she said.
One of the raids was conducted at a home in Orleans, just outside Ottawa.
The owner is listed as Mahboob Khawaja,
author of the book Muslims and the West: Quest for Change and Resolution,
which was published in 2000 and looks at Islamic fundamentalism,
global conflicts and the Western world's understanding of Islam.
Dr. Khawaja has also written several essays disapproving of U.S. foreign
policy and the
war on terrorism
and commenting on "corrupt
Arab
leadership" and "American-Zionist political encroachment in the Middle East."
He was once listed as policy adviser and a member of the international
affairs, politics and religions faculty at Syracuse University in New York.
There was no answer at the home last night.
Neighbours said the owner lives in the house with his wife and four adult
children and that he is a university professor who works overseas.
They also said that two people, believed to be the owner's children,
were led out of the house. Cpl. Deschenes said they were not detained,
that they were only asked to leave during the search.
"He's a really nice guy, really easy to talk to and friendly,"
said neighbour Veronica Thorogood,
who said she hasn't seen the homeowner in about a month.
The RCMP said the search warrants were obtained,
after review by an Ontario Court judge,
under Criminal Code procedures intended to
"enable police to collect evidence in an ongoing criminal investigation."
CBC-TV reported that the searches involved agencies from other countries.
It was confirmed that the RCMP had worked with the Ottawa Police Service
during the raids,
but it was not clear whether the Canadian Security Intelligence Service
was involved.
The main objective of CSIS as the federal government's adviser on matters
of national security "is to investigate and report on threats to the
security of Canada, an objective that it pursues while respecting the
law and protecting human rights."
"I can say we work closely with the RCMP on a number of issues and I did
hear of something happening this afternoon, but it's all RCMP," CSIS
spokeswoman Nicole Currier said.

Angry Iraqis Kill Americans and Desecrate their Bodies
Bush's
Story of "Liberation" and "Democracy" is Over
From our Iraq Observer
The events of March 31 have put paid to the American claim that it was
"liberating" Iraq and working to bring about "democracy."
In a bombing attack [home made bomb produced by resistance fighters],
the
mujahideen
killed 5 U.S. troops, bringing to 600 the number of U.S. troops killed in
Iraq.
More horrifying, Iraqis ambushed and killed 4 American defense contractors
in Fallujah.
Then a crowd gathered, dragged out the bodies of the 4 dead and desecrated
them.
The crowd was angry yet jubilant as with chants of "Allahu Akbar"
it dragged away the 4 dead.
[THE WHITE HOUSE "ADVISED" THE
MEDIA
NOT TO SHOW PICTURES OF THE MUTILATED BODIES and the media obeyed.]
All day the U.S.
media
said that the 4 dead were "civilians" but at night
CNN
admitted that actually they were security men, former Special Forces,
who were working to guard new businesses being set up in Iraq.
Unfortunately, the U.S. media try hard not to let the Iraqi message reach Americans.
Immediately after the Fallujah incident, "experts" came on the CNN,
MSNBC,
FOX TV
screens to claim that these attacks are the work of only a few Iraqis and
most Iraqis support us.
This self-delusion is going to let the war continue.
It's time to get honest. IRAQ WILL NOT ACCEPT U.S. DOMINATION.
The story of "liberation" was nothing more than propaganda.

AYATOLLAH SISTANI, and Other SH'ITES TURNING AGAINST U.S.
The Shias of Iraq,
hurt by Saddam's rule and seen as potential supporters by the U.S. and
Iran,
are gradually and steadily turning away from America.
They are still not participating in the armed resistance but the
displeasure and discontent is taking specific shape.
Ayatollah Sistani has come out against the U.S. idea of an ethnic Governing
Council. He says, it would divide Iraq into three.
He wants Iraq to be united and one.
In Baghdad, a Shi'a
newspaper has been closed down
by the U.S. for
allegedly inciting hatred against the occupation forces.
Hundreds of people demonstrated against the closure.
Thus only ONE out of three Shi'a segments now remains with the U.S.,
that of Chalabi who has been exposed for his links to Israel and Iran.

U.S. Forces in Afghanistan
Fighting both Taliban fighters and Islamic Culture
[From our Media Monitor]
The Wall Street Journal,
March 4, 2004 issue,
published an interesting report on U.S. military operations against the
Taliban. The report pinpoints Afghan mujahid leader Jalaluddin Haqqani as
the target of U.S. troops owing to his support for the Taliban.
The report mentions [in passing] that the home of the Haqqani family was
destroyed in a U.S. air strike.
The report says that Afghans show support for the Taliban by breaking open
cassette tapes
[Indian
movies, western music] and winding the tape around leafless trees around
their villages. An American officer, Captain Gibbs remarks:
"Everywhere we go, we see this stuff. And everywhere we find cassette tapes
in trees, we find Taliban."
In the report, U.S. troops visit the ruins of Haqqani's home but find no
one who will admit to having seen the Taliban leader. While leaving the
village, the exasperated American troops play Led Zappelin's music over the
Humvee loudspeaker "as a parting jab at their unseen enemy.": "It's been a
long time since I rock and rolled/It's been a long time since I did the
stroll..."
COMMENT: The American troops seem aware that it's a war between two ways of
life: The Islamic, inward, spiritual, family oriented, non-consumer and the
American, entertainment oriented, sexually easy going, based on
multinational corporations.
It's a strange fate which has brought the poorest country in the world,
devastated by war, brimming with the energy of resurgent Islam, up against
the most powerful country in the world, overflowing with destructive power
and backed by endless
Jewish
finance.
