Jamaat al-Muslimeen International Press Release
From Kaukab Siddique, Ameer: To all seekers of goodness and truth
CALL FOR Re-COMMITMENT, AWARENESS and DISCIPLINED EFFORT
Freedom for IMAM JAMIL is top of our agenda
(Also, see below text about leadership role of women)
"Cooperate in pious deeds and God-conscious efforts and do NOT
cooperate
in sin and transgression." (The Qur'an)
Dear believers who follow the Qur'an and the Hadith
Dear Christians who follow the original teaching of Jesus (pbuh)
Dear people of conscience who mourn for human suffering
asalamu alaikum (peace be with you)
I am writing to ask for your support in the good works of Jamaat
al-Muslimeen International. We need to work unitedly and with clear
objectives and blessed goals in view. Jamaat al-Muslimeen is willing to
work
with other like-minded independent organizations. Our sincerity in this
unity
factor resulted in our being part of the November 7 Movement initiated
by
Imam Warithuddin Umar, Br. Abdul-Mumit, Sis. Motisola Abdallah and
others.
Times have changed in new ways since September 11, 2001. Muslims
are
under tremendous pressure from the American power structure. Hence I
call
upon members, supporters and sympathizers of Jamaat al-Muslimeen to
re-affirm
their support and the level of support for our work. Please re-affirm
in
writing by email or by letter. If you would like to continue to support
the
work without your name being mentioned, do let me know.
Imam Nadim Ali, imam of the West Side, Atlanta, Mosque has informed
me of
the latest on Imam Jamil's situation. Please do the following: Monitor
the
case (starting with jury selection), keep your communities informed,
organize
teach-ins and prepare for demonstrations. Those with relatives and
friends in
Atlanta should urge them to attend the hearings.
(For more on the case, contact these activists in Atlanta: Sis.
Hedayai
Majeed, Sis. Motisola Abdallah and Sis. Khalida Tunkara. Ask me for
their
email addresses.)

WOMEN's LEADERSHIP ROLE: FROM HADITH: "All the leading scholars of
hadith,
the later ones as well as the earlier ones, assume with absolute
certainty,
that the mother of the believers, ‘Ayesha Siddiqa, daughter of the
Caliph of
the messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr Siddiq, Allah be pleased with him, was
among
the great SAHABA who were FUQAHA. In fact those companions of the
messenger
of Allah, pbuh, who were themselves FUQAHA used to turn to her to seek
answers to difficult questions of religion." (Musnad Ummul Mumineen
‘Aisha,
radi Allah unha, compiled by Jalaluddin as-Suyuti, 911 A.H. Arabic text
with
translation in Urdu by Wasim Usman Muhammad Usman al-Madani, published
Karachi 1993/1413)
