EIGHT
U.S.
TROOPS KILLED: CONFIRMATION
as-Salam 'alaykum!
Just a footnote to your story of the eight dead in the
assault in Iraq yesterday.
Yes, al-Quds al-Arabi quoting journalists and
eyewitnesses said there were eight Americans killed
when a US military transport vehicle carrying 10
Americans apparently hit a mine and burst into flames,
simultaneously coming under machinegun fire. It took
place in a town named Khalidiyya. (The US
media
with their usual ineptness were calling the place Kaldya,
apparently.) The paper also reported (and carried
photographs to show) that the incident was followed by
pro-Saddam demonstrations.
In addition, al-Quds al-Arabi reported that Thursday
saw attacks on American forces in al-Fallujah,
al-Mosul, and Baghdad and guerrillas also set an oil
pipeline alight in the north of the country.
Wa-s-salam!
