AND NOW A RAID ON HOLY CITY OF MAKKA...
ONLY THREE MILES FROM MASJID al-HARAM!

A report just received from the Associated Press [June 15, 11 AM Easter Standard Time] indicates that Saudi troops (trained and armed by the U.S.) carried out a raid in the holy city of MAKKA only THREE MILES from the masjid al-Haram, the holiest mosque in Islam. The Saudi are trying to crush anti-American resistance forces. The Saudis seem to sense that their regime has no legitimacy other than American support. If the anti-American movement develops, the Saudi regime's existence would be in danger.

It appears that the Saudis have killed at least five Islamic activists in the attack and arrested a number of others. The Saudis claim that it was actually a clash with "terrorists" and two Saudi security were also killed. However, Saudi claims are difficult to verify because the media are tightly controlled by the ruling dynasty and criticism of Saudi-U.S. links is not permitted.

[NEW TREND SUGGESTS THAT ISLAMIC LEADERS WORLDWIDE SEND A DELEGATION TO INVESTIGATE THE SITUATION IN ARABIA, the LAND OF THE PROPHET (pbuh). If the SAUDIS CONTINUE TRYING TO CRUSH ANTI-AMERICAN RESISTANCE, soon WE COULD HAVE SAUDI FORCES ATTACKING THE MASJID AL-HARAM and the KA'ABA itself. It is not beyond imagination for the Zionists controlling America to claim that "terrorists" are hiding in the Ka'aba itself. MUSLIM WORLD MUST TAKE EARLY ACTION BEFORE THE HOLY PLACES ARE ATTACKED.]

In the absence of independent sources, here is the news of the attack in Makka as it has appeared in Saudi controlled sources as reported by AP
"At least five people were arrested in the raid, including two Chadians, an Egyptian and a Saudi, a Saudi interior ministry official said." "The unidentified official, whose remarks were carried by the official Saudi Press Agency and state television, said a number of other suspects also were arrested in Mecca, Islam's holiest city, 450 miles west of the capital, following the raid. He did not elaborate." "At about 9:30 p.m., Saudi security agents broke into an apartment in al-Khalidiya district about three miles from Mecca's main mosque, where "a group of terrorists ... were preparing an imminent terrorist act," the official said. He did not say what the intended target was and gave no other details on the alleged plot." "Security was unusually tight in Mecca on Sunday, with troops stopping cars for searches and to check drivers' identification on the outskirts and at checkpoints scattered throughout the city. A number of police patrolled inside and outside Mecca's Al-Nur hospital, where those wounded Saturday were taken."

CIA BEHIND DEMONSTRATIONS IN TEHRAN?

Hundreds of Iranian students from the westernized North Tehran area have demonstrated against the Islamic government for three straight days. They called for the downfall of Iran's supreme Islamic leader Ali Khamene'i. On the second day, pro-Islamic youths, clearly provoked by the challenge to the Islamic legitimacy of the state, attacked the demonstrators and injured a number of them. Police then moved in and arrested 50 of the attackers.

All part of expected turmoil in a society in transition? That's what it seemed. But now there are indications that the CIA is stoking the demonstrations. The U.S. is openly interfering in the internal issues facing Iran. Note the following comment from the U.S. State Department:
"It's our hope that the voice of the Iranian people and their call for democracy and the rule of law will be heard and transform Iran into a force for stability in the region," State Department spokesman Richard Boucher said on Thursday.

Iran has been steadily moving closer to the U.S. but it appears that Zionists in Mr. Bush's administration think that "disaffection" among the new generation of Iranians is so high that a quick fix might be possible.

Rome Mosque removes Imam over khutba: Censorship of Islamic Expression
Call to Remove him Came from Simon Wiesenthal Center, Got Saudi Support
14-06-2003
ROME (AP) -- The main mosque in Rome suspended its imam after he delivered a sermon praising Palestinian fighters and calling for the destruction of Islam's enemies, officials said Saturday.

The decision by the mosque's administrators to remove Abdel-Samie Mahmoud Ibrahim Moussa capped a week of debate about the sermon, delivered during Friday prayers June 6 and published, in part, by the Rome daily La Repubblica a day later.

'Allah, let the Islamic fighters in Palestine, Chechnya and elsewhere be triumphant!' La Repubblica quoted Moussa as saying in Arabic.

'Allah, destroy the houses of the enemies of Islam! Allah, help us crush the enemies of Islam! Allah ensure the victory of the nation of Islam!' the imam said in quotes that were confirmed Saturday by Mario Scialoja, head of the World Muslim League in Italy, which is affiliated with the mosque.

Italy's interior minister, Giuseppe Pisanu, expressed outrage at the imam's call, saying Italy's mosques 'must be completely free of preachers of violence, recruiters for holy war and agents of foreign interests in Italy.'

Jewish groups including the Simon Wiesenthal Center urged the imam be replaced and expressed concern for the safety of Italy's Jewish community following what it said was Moussa's 'religious validation of terrorism.'

On Friday, the administrative council of the Islamic Cultural Center, made up of the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and other Muslim countries, decided to suspend him, Scialoja said Saturday.

'We cannot allow the mosque to be used to espouse violence the way the young imam did,' he said Saturday.

He said the majority of Rome's 90,000 Muslims are 'quite peaceful and serene' and didn't share Moussa's message and that the Muslim community's relations with the Italian government are good.

It wasn't clear what would become of the 32-year-old Moussa, who is Egyptian and was named to head Rome's main mosque five months ago by Cairo's Al-Azhar university, Sunni Islam's highest authority. Scialoga said it would take some time for a permanent replacement to be named.
