On October 27th, the Alexander Brothers were each given a 30-year federal sentence for drugging and raping dozens of women. They come from a wealthy Jewish family and used their wealth and access to luxury real estate properties to victimize women.
One of the brothers wore a yarmulke to court for sentencing. At sentencing, the brothers proclaimed their innocence, but the judge was not impressed. He called the brothers Jekyll and Hyde, presenting themselves as "perfect gentlemen" to some people and as sexual predators to others.
Lawyers for Alon, Oren (39-year-old twins), and 40-year-old Tal Alexander denied that their clients raped anyone and that the women either had faulty memories or just wanted money. However, the brothers were found guilty on all counts back in March 2026, including a charge that Alon and Tal sex-trafficked a minor and that Oren sexually exploited a minor.
The brothers have maintained their innocence and plan to appeal.
On October 27th, retired NYPD Detective Victor Romero, 62, was indicted on a second-degree murder charge. He is charged with killing Koran Irvine, 46, who was a married father of two children, in a road rage incident on the George Washington Bridge on October 20th.
Hundreds of people, including the Irvine family, friends, Con Ed workers, and activists, organized a rally at Foley Square in Manhattan to express concern over preferential treatment given to retired detective Victor Romero.
Originally, the NYPD charged Romero with murder, but the Manhattan District Attorney reduced the charge to first-degree manslaughter. It was a Manhattan grand jury that upgraded the charges to a second-degree murder charge. The people have spoken.
Many supporters are demanding justice and watching the case closely because the defendant is a retired NYPD detective. Romero paid his $1 million bail and remains free pending a trial.
The Community Cop Show panel, with founding members of 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care, Noel Leader and Michael Greys, told viewers that police officers often raised funds for suspended officers. Officers suspended for violating the law (i.e., shooting an unarmed suspect) received tens of thousands of dollars from fellow officers. It's not surprising that Victor Romero, a hedge fund security guard, could afford to pay $1 million in bail money.

used to greet the children when he passed

him by the hand and he would allow her

the service of his family when at home.

and mend his own torn clothes...!

would milk his goat himself for his own family...
and would feed his own camel...!
Prophetﷺ used to eat with his servants...
and sit in the company of the poor people.
Prophetﷺ would personally take care of the
needs of widows and orphans.
The Prophetﷺ
would be the one to initiate the greeting
when meeting people...!
Prophetﷺ would respond to the humblest of invitations.
he [peace be upon him] lived a very modest lifestyle,
a man of soft manners, naturally kind, easy to get along with, having a pleasant smile on his face,
gracefully humble, extremely generous but not wasteful,
soft-hearted and gentle in his dealings
with each and every Muslim,
lowering the wings of humility to the believers,
bearing their companionship in such
a gentle way...!
