An Interview with Human Rights Activist Mauri Saalakhan
On May 4, I was able to interview El Haj Mauri Saalakhan (with the help of my daughter who also excels in human rights activism). I got so much information that I got tired.
Br. Saalakhan's human rights advocacy work began with the police brutality reform and advocacy for political prisoners. Important Islam- related dates in his life were:
Transition from the "Nation of Islam" to the full practice of Islam under Imam W. Deen Mohammed in 1975.
Made Hajj in 1407 AH (1987 CE). Was a witness to the Saudi security instigated massacre that took place in Makkah that year.
First trip to Pakistan in 1989 for an "International Conference on Kashmir" at the Islamabad Hotel.
Second Pakistan trip in 2014 for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui - with visits to Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Lahore.
Author of a number of papers and books on a variety of social justice and human rights related subjects over the years.
Presently leads a grassroots human rights org known as The Aafia Foundation (TAF). TAF's website is:

Incarcerated Muslims Publish Journal
New Trend is pleased to receive Straight Talk from Behind the Wall, a journal spearheaded by an incarcerated imam who is close to our heart, Br. Abdul Hakim.
The journal encourages incarcerated people to express themselves and talk about the conditions under which they are held.

This coming week we commemorate the Nakba, the large-scale ethnic cleansing
that accompanied the declaration of a Jewish apartheid state 15 May 1948.
I have relatives who lost their homes in Jaffa (a city that was largely
ethnically cleansed and subsumed into "Tel-Aviv").

This coming week is also my birthday and as in all such days we remember our mothers.
My mom's last day included few words she could utter but one
was the name of her friend Hayah Balbisi,
massacred in Deir Yassin by Zionist forces 9 April 1948.
While my body ages, I still try to keep the pace as a full-time volunteer
(7 days a week, 15 hours per day) and donor
at the Palestine Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability.
Soon we open the new Museum of Natural History and new Heritage Garden.

The level of horrors in the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing in
Palestine and Lebanon is truly shocking and well documented by all human
rights organizations as well as the UN (rapes, torture, pogroms, ecocide,
carpet bombing and erasing entire communities).

Even Saudi Arabia just denied use of its airspace for (Israel Epstein) US military.

Mayor Mamdani Closes the NYC Budget Gap
New York City had a $12 billion budget gap that Mayor Mamdani blamed on the poor budgeting of previous mayoral administrations.
Mayor Mamdani proposed a 9.5% property tax hike on the wealthy to close the budget gap. Many people considered this tax proposal a ploy to get New York Governor Kathy Hochul to provide additional money to New York City. If it was a ploy, it worked! Governor Hochul gave New York City $4 billion to close the deficit. However, her opponent in the race for governor, Republican Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, called the move "daylight robbery."
Blakeman accused Governor Hochul of taking money from other areas that aid in helping New Yorkers buy groceries and pay rent just to help Mayor Mamdani's socialist agenda.
None of the money for libraries, city parks, or financial assistance programs has been touched. Previous administrations robbed Peter to pay Paul by taking money from library funding or making other budget cuts to close any existing deficit.
The only power the mayor has is to raise property taxes, but the City Council Speaker Julie Menin did not support the property tax hike for the rich. There were other council members against the property tax hike, and it would have been difficult to pass such a measure through the City Council.
As a compromise, Governor Hochul has supported a tax on pied-à-terres or second homes for the rich. It is believed that such a property tax would generate $500 million in annual revenue. Billionaire Citadel CEO Ken Griffin, who owns a $238 million pied-à-terre, is a big critic.

The American Government Planned Urban Blight
According to the Ashley B YouTube channel, the federal government tracked black wealth throughout the country after World War II. We read about it being boom times and the baby boomer generation, but these are terms that are applied to White America.
Several federal agencies began mapping where black wealth and middle-income neighborhoods were forming nationwide. These agencies were the FHA, the old Home Owners' Loan Corporation (HOLC) system, which was responsible for creating redlining maps, the Census Bureau, the Department of Commerce, and city planning boards.
Note: Redlining was the discriminatory practice used by real estate agents to steer nonwhite homebuyers away from white neighborhoods.
The goal was to track where black middle-income families were moving, where black businesses were being established, where black incomes were rising, and where black professionals were moving. "Chocolate cities" such as Washington, D.C., Chicago, St. Louis, Mo., Atlanta, and many more were flagged as threats to the existing racial balance.
One of the bigger white supremacist lies is that a majority of African Americans are on public assistance (welfare). However, the actual numbers indicate that the majority of welfare recipients are White. Imagine the anger and humiliation white adults experience when their white children see African American families riding in luxury cars.
To sabotage any efforts for black wealth to develop in these predominantly black areas, the following measures were implemented:
Eminent domain was used to create highways straight through these communities. There were over 3,000 freetowns founded by former African slaves, and now there are only 100. So, there have always been efforts to prevent Black people from owning property in America.
Zoning changes blocked business growth.
Banks made obtaining mortgages increasingly difficult.
Schools were gerrymandered.
Urban renewal targeted these areas.
After subjecting these communities to surveillance in the 1940s and 50s, it is no accident that these communities began to deteriorate in the 1960s:
Heroin, a recreational drug that could only be found in White neighborhoods, at one time, was now rampant in the inner cities, for anyone to buy.
Privately-owned residential buildings that fell into disrepair were left in that condition until the early 2000s, when gentrification began. El-Hajj Malik Shabazz blamed absentee landlords for poor building maintenance. These landlords didn't care to make repairs because they did not live in the community.
Police have a working relationship with the criminals. El Hajj Malik Shabazz once said about the Black community:
"This neighborhood ... has more police in it than any other neighborhood. Yet it has more crime in it than any other neighborhood. How can you have more cops and more crime? It shows you that the cops must be in cahoots with the criminal. (Facebook - Shaun King)"
Criminal activities such as illegal drug selling, biker gangs violating traffic laws, and loud music playing go unchecked by the local police.
One of the most notorious reigns of terror against African Americans was the razing of "Black Wall Street" in Tulsa, Oklahoma. African-Americans owned schools, banks, grocery stores, and even had oil businesses with Native Americans. This was another government effort to destroy African-American financial independence. They did not need White people for anything! These destructive actions by the federal and state governments are rooted in history, not just by the disregard shown African-Americans, but Native Americans, and even the Irish, whether they are too blinded by their whiteness to recognize it themselves.
These revelations are just further confirmation of America's need to atone for its wickedness, which is rooted in greed. Racism is a red herring meant to keep us all divided.

A 130-year-old Indonesian Muslim man performed the life-time Hajj journey.
The man is believed to be the oldest person to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
Ohi Aidros Samri visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with six family members.
The elderly Indonesian national was welcomed at
King Abdul Aziz International Airport by a number of officials who gave him flowers and trinkets as a gesture of goodwill.
The oldest person to previously perform Hajj was a 104-year-old Ibu Mariah Marghani Muhammad from Indonesia.
