Understanding Imam Shafai'i

I am studying the life of one of the greatest, classical scholars of Islam, Imam Shafai'i who passed away in the year 820 CE (204 AH) in Egypt. He was born in Gaza. One wonders what fate this towering personality would have met, had he lived a millennium later, in the midst of the greatest tragedy of our times, Gaza.
Imam Shafai'i was so poor that his mother could not buy paper for him to write on. He sat outside the mosque and memorized what the imam was saying inside the mosque. His greatest books are Al Risala and Kitab al umm. Both are available in English translation. Muslims in modern times have learned the interpretation of Qur'an and hadith from his writings.

Palestinian Resistance Could Change the Map of the Region
The Jewish entity known as Israel kept bombing Palestine for about two years, killing over 75,000 unarmed people, mostly women and children. The occupation forces were provided weaponry by the United States, including bombs, jets, helicopters, tanks, and artillery. The resistance came from a poorly armed group known as Hamas, which used small arms, and hid in tunnels and caves. As recently as today, the Palestinian resistance killed three Israeli occupiers.
The Muslim countries nearest to Palestine are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. They each have modern armies and air forces. They did not intervene in any way to support the Resistance. Why?
As a result of the lack of any outside intervention, the Israeli military rampaged through Gaza and the adjoining areas. What does the Qur'an say about the behavior of nations such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. All three claim to be Muslim countries. In Islamic terminology, they would be called murtad, or at best, munafiq.
Will this shameful situation change?
It could change with the emergence of Islamic leadership, backed by masses of armed Muslims. that looks doubtful at this time, but it has historical precedents.
Islamic victories in Afghanistan and Bangladesh, along with the groups of movement in Africa and the Houthis in Yemen, make a new world order look emergent, and even probable.
Afghanistan
Pakistan forces attacked and destroyed major Taliban positions and headquarters. One hundred thirty-three (133) people were allegedly killed in various areas. Taliban attacked border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but were driven back. Ten people were killed. As we went to the press, Pakistan appeared to have the upper hand.
Yesterday, the Pakistan Air Force bombed three areas in Afghanistan, and claimed to have killed 80 fighters. However, reports and photos indicate that civilian homes were hit, and women and children were killed. Also, mosques were hit during the bombing. The Taliban condemned the attack, and said they will respond.
Taliban and Iran
In an unexpected move, Taliban have offered to help Iran if the US attacks. The Taliban have weapons abandoned by NATO when Western forces withdrew from Afghanistan.

Killer Meets Killer
India's Modi, the killer of unarmed Muslims, visited Netanyahu, the killer of unarmed Muslims. They praised each other. Birds of a feather. Pakistanis ought to stop fighting Afghanistan, and instead work towards liberating Kashmir.

Palestinian Woman Activist Remains in US Custody for Exercising Her Free Speech Rights
Free Leqaa Kordia
Leqaa is the only protester still locked up and facing deportation after Trump's attacks on universities and targeting of foreign protesters.
Background
Crackdowns on peaceful protestors are part of a broader trend of authoritarian practices designed to shrink civic space, silence dissent, and target marginalized communities, especially immigrant and international students.
Leqaa Kordia, is a 33-year-old Muslim Palestinian woman living in the United States. She has been arbitrarily detained since March 13, 2025, when she was detained by immigration authorities during a voluntary meeting with immigration officials at the Newark ICE Field Office. Leqaa's continued unlawful detention, despite being ordered released by a judge twice, matters because no one should be deprived of their rights to peacefully protest and free expression, no one should be separated from their family for taking part in a protest, and no one should be detained solely for immigration processing. While detained, her ability to practice her faith has not been fully respected, raising additional concerns about her treatment. Her case highlights violations of human rights, including freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, non-discrimination, and religious freedom.
Leqaa is currently held in the Prairieland Detention Facility in Texas, far from her attorney and family. Leqaa's detention is not an isolated incident. She is one of at least 10 individuals, including Mahmoud Khalil and Rumeysa Ozturk, whose immigration status was terminated, visa revoked, or who were detained and placed in deportation proceedings, specifically for their participation in peaceful campus protests or support for Palestinians' human rights.
This pattern of targeting peaceful activists is not only a violation of their rights but creates a chilling effect that discourages students, immigrants, and community members from exercising their rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. People have the right to speak out, organize, and protest peacefully without fear of retaliation, detention, deportation, or other punishment. Freedom of expression, association, and assembly are not privileges. They are human rights protected under international law and the U.S. Constitution. When these rights are under attack, it is our collective responsibility to defend them.
Who is Leqaa?
Leqaa Kordia is a young Palestinian woman who came to the United States in 2016 on a visitor visa, searching for stability, safety and a chance to build a life close to her mother and relatives in New Jersey, all of whom are U.S. citizens. She became part of her community, studied, worked, and like many others, started the long and complicated process of applying for permanent residency through her mother. The petition for her permanent residency was approved by immigration authorities in 2021. Based on incorrect advice, Leqaa terminated her existing visa believing that the approval of her petition meant that she now had lawful immigration status while she awaited her green card – leaving her without legal immigration status. At the time of her detention, she was still in the middle of this legal process.
In 2023 and 2024, as the crisis in Gaza intensified, Leqaa joined peaceful protests in the area near her home in New Jersey. Approximately 175 members of her extended family had been killed during the ongoing genocide, almost an entire generation of her family. She spoke out and protested because she believed that every person deserves dignity, safety, and the protection
of their human rights. She was not a student protester; she was a grieving family member calling for humanity.
In April 2024, during a demonstration in front of the Columbia campus, Leqaa was arrested for "failure to disperse". The charges were later dropped "in the interests of justice". However, the arrest placed her on the government's radar.
Nearly a year later, on 13 March 2025, she attended a voluntary meeting, with immigration officials at the Newark ICE field office with her lawyer, after learning she was under investigation. Despite being assessed as low-risk for public safety and flight, she was suddenly detained. She was then placed on a plane and transferred to Prairieland Detention Facility in Texas, thousands of miles from her family, her community and her lawyer. She has now been detained for more than eight months.
While in detention, Leqaa's religious rights have not been fully respected, including repeated issues accessing halal food and staff refusing to provide her with suitable clothing and a clean space she needs to pray. (Continued)

Global Leadership Failure to Understand the Logic of Time, Peace and War
In an age of ignorance, time had no meaning and power knew not the logic of law, human rights, peace and humanity but tyranny to insanity governed human affairs.
Are we back to an age of darkness again? Now, supposedly we have realization of time and are conscious of time as a moral being. Laws stem from our sense of morality, humanity and order to expose a sign of sophistication of our existence as human beings encompassing commitment to human values, cultures, compassion, civilizations to defend the incomprehensible challenges of time, space and imagination of a sustainable future for humanity.
Those claiming to have invented new time and space are simply a reflection of some other. War and peace continued to be the focal point of humanitarian concerns all over the globe. Do cultures and civilizations grow out of the moral mire of bombardment, cruelty, killing, conquest, occupation and destruction of humanity? Impostors and people of violent hidden agendas are fast moving into power politics.
Western imperialism navigates the man-made tragedy. WE, the Peoples become victims of consequential anarchy of barbarism, killings, crimes against humanity and genocide. Gaza and Ukraine portray the reality.
Life and facts make us understanding of critical thinking as truth, time and space vary across human consciousness.
Undeniably, America and the EU remained not just weapon suppliers but supporters of Israeli policies and practices of crimes against humanity and genocide in Palestine.
They were integral part of violations of all norms of international law and sanctity of life. Most hated and feared leaders claim to have invincible armies to usher peacemaking by means of wars.
Evil is inseparable from political governance. Global governance is fast becoming lawless, lacking intuition of order and power in all institutions of peace and security.

Confiscating Palestine's Maritime Natural Gas Reserves, Video Interview with Michel Chossudovsky, Global Research: 10/23/24), explains: An official "secret" memorandum authored by Israel's Ministry of Intelligence recommended the forcible and permanent transfer of Gaza's 2.2 million Palestinian residents to Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, specifically to a refugee camp in Egyptian territory.
There are indications of Israel-Egypt negotiations, as well as consultations with the US.

Time, Life and Earth are a Trust to be Protected
God created the Heavens and the Earth as a Trust to fulfill human aspirations and to allow human generations to flourish since time immemorial.
It was never meant to be bombed and destroyed by sheer ignorance and wickedness.
The Earth, a creation of God, exists, serves His purpose equally to all creations of God, and floats in the universe without any pillars.
It clarifies now and will do the same on the Day of Judgment – Day of Truth: O' People, the chief creation of God! You appear to be adapted to intellect, fortitude, and fortune, being a victim of ignorance, superstition, and arrogance against me, your Mother Earth.
I am not a property of any nations, states, geography, or corporations, but a Divine hub of life beyond human imagination, survival, and trust. Those bombing and destroying me are mentally sick and defy the Divine Truth.
Their hearts beat, and they breathe oxygen on me and exhibit petty behaviors in politics as scum floating on a torrent. Sketch out your genius: I am a living being, spinning at 1670 km per hour to orbit the Sun at 107,000 km per hour.
Imagine if this spinning were to stall; what consequences could occur for all the living beings on Earth?
All international institutions are broken and deliberately kept dysfunctional. Truth is one and unchanging, as it was centuries earlier. The emerging wars and destruction of Earth and human habitats are blatant violations of the trust between humanity and the Creator, calling for an awakening of human conscience and soul.
Reminder to Warriors against Humanity
All informed global communities are passionate about peace, not war. When nations and leaders subscribing to political absolutism start acting as though they are God and challenge the sanctity and limits of the Laws of God, history shows that they become objects of unthinkable natural calamities—earthquakes, wildfires, floods, deaths, and destruction. The Message of the Quran (64:40, 67:40) clarifies the truth of universal brotherhood and wisdom for all times:
It is God Who has made for you the Earth as a resting place and the sky as a canopy; and has given you shape and made your shapes beautiful, and has provided for your sustenance of things pure and good; such is God, your Lord. So Glory be to God, the Lord of the Worlds. He it is Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a leech-like clot, then He brings you out as a child. Then lets you grow and reach your full strength, and lets you become old—though some of you die before—and lets you reach an appointed term, so that you may learn wisdom.
Tyranny is always powerless and transitory. To warmongers and sadistic political figures: listen to voices of REASON otherwise your fate is set as was of the Pharaoh at Red Sea:
Do they not travel through the Earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength: they tilled the earth and populated it in greater numbers than these have done:.... it was not God Who wronged them but they wronged their own souls ( The Quran: 30:9).
You do not get entrapped in myth-making, every beginning has an end, and no nation is infinite or free from the consequences of their own fallibility. Nations do rise and fall but intelligent people always readily accept advice. This is the 21st century challenge and warnings to the contemporary transgressors – think again about your ambitions to overrun humanity and your own fate in waiting? History and fate will judge you by your actions, not by your claims. The US Empire in its infancy, European imperialists, Israeli extremists, Russians, the oil-soaked mindless Middle Eastern authoritarian rulers and other warlords –the acclaimed insane killers and aggressors – fearful of the self and of the unknown future – don't repeat history.

BAFTA Censored 'Free Palestine' Message
At the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), a white man spewed racist epithets and profanity as African-American actors Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting the first award of the evening. They looked at the man, then continued presenting. The potty-mouth was a special guest of BAFTA, John Davidson, a Tourette's Syndrome sufferer and activist who was the subject of a nominated movie, "I Swear."
Interestingly, although the program aired a whopping two hours later on television, the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) never edited out the racist outburst. According to Variety magazine, Davidson, who also received the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) title, subjected fellow guests to profane and vulgar outbursts. After his racist outburst, he sat elsewhere out of view.
John Davidson also suffers from Coprolalia, a syndrome that causes people to utter very offensive comments, including epithets. Only 10-30% of Tourette's sufferers have Coprolalia. So, Davidson is not the one in control here. He can't even control what he says! He was BAFTA's tool.
The BAFTA issued a weak apology, which included a description of Tourette's Syndrome and how great Davidson is as a human being. There were weak, indirect apologies given right along with support for Tourette's.
The censors have made this about John Davidson having Tourette's when the real issue is the fact that his racist epithets were not censored at all!
Jemele Hill, on her "Spolitics with Jemele Hill" podcast, pointed out that a "Free Palestine" message from the director of "My Father's Shadow," Akinola Davies Jr., BAFTA acceptance speech was censored.
The genocide in Palestine and its discussion are something the Zionists want smothered. They do not want any momentum to be given to the anti-Zionist movement. Giving a "Free Palestine" message is one that unifies a majority of people. Racism divides people. The devil rules by division.
Zionist media moguls used their power to get the "Free Palestine" message censored, but not the racist message.
According to Variety, Delroy Lindo said that he wished that BAFTA had spoken to him and Michael B. Jordan personally about the matter. No one has spoken to either of these actors, nor have they given them an apology.
New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams produced a video explaining how having Tourette's Syndrome and Coprolalia has compelled him to utter grave offenses, including racist epithets. As a child, his mother had him watch a 20/20 episode where a white man suffering from Coprolalia learned to substitute the words "nickels, pennies, and dimes" for the so-called N-word. However, Williams made it clear that not everyone can do that!
Many white people in Hollywood have expressed dismay and anger over Jordan and Lindo's film, "Sinners," receiving so many Academy Award nominations.
Racism is also a red herring or distraction. Just this week, Prince Andrew was arrested for allegedly sharing government secrets with pedophile associate Jeffrey Epstein. Maybe this racist BAFTA incident was meant to overshadow Prince Andrew's arrest. His nephew and niece, Prince William and Princess Kate, were in attendance. Who knows?

NYPD Involved in Snowball Fight with Children
It seemed innocent enough: children throwing snowballs at cops and cops throwing snowballs back. In the video, officers and children are seen laughing as they pelt each other with snowballs. But then I see one officer shove someone, who looked like a teenager, violently down in the snow. Then, another officer followed suit and did the same thing to another person.
The Patrolmen's Benevolence Association head, Patrick Hendry, and Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch are calling for the children to be arrested for assault. The NYPD alleges that two officers were injured during this snowball fight. One man, 27-year-old YouTuber, Gusmane Coulibal,y was arrested and then released when the prosecutor admitted that it could not be determined. He was released under supervision.
The NYPD is outraged, especially since Mayor Zohran Mamdani refuses to speak out against those involved in the snowball fight. He said that it was asnowball fight that got out of hand and that no one should be arrested.
This is also a case of police officers pulling rank when it suits them. It is fine for them to engage in snowball fights, but the moment they no longer want to play, they decide to use their power to arrest.

Columbia University Student Kidnapped by ICE Agents
Thursday afternoon, February 26th, there were helicopters hovering over Harlem to view the Columbia University protest. The protest was over the detainment of fellow student Elmina Aghayeva, who is from Azerbaijan. ICE agents claimed that she had been living in America illegally since her visa was terminated by the Obama Administration in 2016, for failing to attend classes.
The issue is how ICE came to arrest Aghayeva. The building manager and Aghayeva's roommate let ICE into the apartment because ICE allegedly claimed to be police officers looking for a missing 5-year-old child.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul used this opportunity to criticize ICE's invasion of personal homes and promoted a recent bill she has proposed to end such things. Columbia University is looking into this matter.
When she was taken, Elmina, who has over 100,000 followers on social media, was able to take a picture with the caption, "DHS illegally arrested me. Please help." Mayor Mamdani revealed that Aghayeva would be released after speaking on the phone with President Trump about the matter. She was released and has returned home.
