Qur'an and Hadith Studies with Dr. Kaukab Siddique

Quran 2:177 Summarizes Essentials of Faith

"Righteousness is not in turning your faces to the east or the west. Rather, the righteous are those who believes in Allah, the Last Day, the angels, the Books, and the prophets; who give charity out of their cherished wealth to relatives, orphans, the poor, "needy" travelers, beggars, and for freeing captives; who establish prayer, pay alms-tax, and keep the pledges they make; and who are patient in times of suffering, adversity, and in "the heat of" battle. It is they who are true "in faith," and it is they who are mindful of Allah.

Understanding Why Israelis are Committing Serious Crimes Against Palestinians
By Dr. Kaukab Siddique

Jews were supposed to be friends of Muslims, and have many shared cultural values. How is it they have become so brutal and nonchalant in their atrocities against Palestinians?

Here are my thoughts on this: After World War II, a massive propaganda campaign was launched to justify Jewish emigration to Palestine. The Zionists moving there spread the story that they had suffered greatly at the hands of Hitler. Therefore, these Zionists were accustomed to brutality.

So why then are people who "endured the horrors of the Jewish Holocaust" engaging in criminal behavior in Palestine? For fifty years, Zionist Jews were told what happened to them under Hitler was terrible. So, their atrocities against Palestinians may be seen as the actions of an abused group abusing others. It is akin to the story of the abused Caucasian boy who comes to school with a semi-automatic weapon and lets loose on his classmates.

Some of the terminology used by the Zionists about what was done to them has been adapted by the Palestinians, and by Muslims in general. Terms like "holocaust," "genocide," "millions killed," and "mass murder" arise frequently in the post-October 7 discussion of the Israeli treatment of Palestinians. This is a new phenomenon, as previously these terms were reserved for use by the Jewish Holocaust victims and their supporters, and their use by anyone outside that group automatically earned Zionist ire, and potentially the label of antisemite.

Stories were bandied about by Zionist emigrees to Palestine about the suffering of the Jewish people. Like an abused child growing up to become an abuser, the Zionists treated the Palestinian people as their lore said they'd been treated by Hitler.

Zionist emigrees to Palestine did not want any critical or analytical discussion of what was done to them.

And the younger generation of Jews, despite being indoctrinated into modern ways of scientific method and intellectual inquiry, are convinced beyond a doubt of the veracity of the victors' version of WWII history, despite huge holes in that story. Take terms like "six million Jews were killed." If you ask a Zionist youth how that number was arrived at, he cannot answer.

To count even ten thousand, let alone millions of dead human beings is not easy. Where were the remains of such a large number of people? Mass graves were said to have been created by Hitler's Third Reich, but their locations are never disclosed. There were no orders from Hitler or his lieutenants to carry out the killings of six million Jews, or even one million Jews. All of this raises serious questions about the credibility of the Holocaust story as it is told by the victors.

If a person claims "One million Jews were killed by Hitler," he will be under critical scrutiny in Germany, Austria and Poland. If the person persists in writing an analysis of whether or how six million Jews were killed by Hitler, he might be arrested and put in prison.

So, discussion of the "Holocaust," "genocide," or "mass killing" is not allowed in seventeen European countries, Israel, and Canada, and is a punishable offense. Most troubling is the fact that the victims of the Israeli genocide, i.e. the Palestinians, also may not question the story which permitted the usurpation of their homeland.

If an atrocity like the Jewish Holocaust happened, why should the details not be investigated? Would it be acceptable to abandon any other crime scene similarly, with no investigation or scrutiny?

Even a highly accomplished scientist like Germar Rudolph, who attended the Max Planck Institute in Germany, faced arrest or exile, and was prohibited from releasing the results of his scientific inquiry delving into details of the Holocaust story, because it did not fit with the victors' version. British historian David Irving was similarly not allowed to publicly disseminate the results of his WWII research.

During World War II, the Allies bombed all the major cities in Germany. So, these cities were destroyed. Most Germans could not find jobs unless they served the victors. The victors also controlled the German media, a phenomenon which has continued through today.

The stranglehold on discussion of the Holocaust meant that understanding of concentration camps was one dimensional. In the victor's narrative, these were camps where Jews were put to death. But a counter narrative shows they were camps used for producing support for the German War effort. Furthermore, reporting on the actions taken by Allies when they took over German concentration camps is equally one-sided.

For example, soldiers at the Dachau Concentration Camp were executed without charge or trial by US troops. The execution occurred in broad daylight, right in front of the camp. The camp was created by the very German soldiers who were executed. And the execution was publicized by the New York Times, as if it was a great thing.

Other acts which, on any other world stage, would be characterized as draconian and an infringement on civil liberties, occurred:

  1. Scientists like Germar Rudoph (not a Nazi, and not even born during Hitler's reign) were put on trial, sentenced, and then exiled from Germany.

  2. The German Air Force was unable to defend Germany toward the end of World War II. This made it possible for the victorious air forces (Britain, France, and Soviet Union) to dictate the narrative about Germany. Finally, historian David Irving produced a detailed study of Dresden, which was bombed during the day by the American Air Force, and at night by the British Air Force. Irving showed that more than a hundred thousand people (100,000), many of them running away from the Soviet Union were slaughtered by the two air forces which were pounding Dresden. Even on Valentine's Day, children were killed by the hundreds by the bombers who claimed they did not see that the children had come into the city for their Valentine's Day gifts.

David Irving was prosecuted and locked up by the Austrian government, which said he'd violated Holocaust denial laws. Earlier, he was fined by Germany for challenging the victors' narrative of the Holocaust.

Even more Orwellian was the fact that until recently, Germany did not allow people to gather at the spot where Dresden had been bombed.

As Irving said, it is not logical to condemn one side but not the other, if both sides have committed the same crimes.

In the Palestinian context, it seems that the Israeli perpetrators of genocide have cemented the Holocaust story, however unsubstantiated, in their minds. They then engage in the most horrific of crimes against the original inhabitants of the land they occupy, from beheading babies, to burning bodies, to sodomizing male prisoners with blunt instruments, to shooting journalists at point blank range, attacking hospitals, torturing doctors, and bombing Islamic and Christian historical sites. Perhaps as angry abuse victims, they feel entitled to subject Palestinians to horrific crimes. It is the hope of this writer that one day whether or not they are thus entitled will be realized when they are before the ICC.

Disclaimer: Dr. Kaukab Siddique is not a historian. He is however, interested in open discourse and intellectual freedom not just for some, but for all. He is against the idea of the "Thought Crime" embraced by seventeen European Countries, Israel, and Canada.

World News

Lebanon

Beirut, Tyre, and other cities were bombed by Israel. Three journalists were killed in an Israeli airstrike.

Gaza

Fourteen children were killed by Israelis in Khan Younis. Jewish settlers broke the border fence. On October 25, the Kamal Adwan Hospital was stormed by Jewish settlers.

Seventeen women and children were killed, and forty-two were wounded in an Israeli strike on Al-Awda hospital.

American weaponry flows to the Israeli government. From there, it frequently winds up in the hands of vigilante settlers, who attack Palestinian villages, orchards, schools, and hospitals with abandon, while the IOF turns a blind eye. The settlers seem to enjoy destruction, and engage in brutality as if out of lust. One can see they have been taught that Palestine is their land, and they can behave as they wish.

Iran

Breaking news: Early Saturday morning, Israel attacked Iran and succeeded in hitting certain targets in Tehran and nearby cities. The incident is significant because it's the first time Israel has openly attacked Iran and acknowledged that it did so.

According to AP, the strikes were conducted using American-made F-15 and F-16 warplanes. (AP, October 26). Perversely, the Israelis used Iraqi airspace to attack Iran. So, the airspace of one Muslim country previously destroyed by the US—is now being used by Israel, with the advance knowledge and collusion of the US, to attack another. Reports are that all the Iranian targets were missed.

It seems that after having failed to win on the border with Hizbullah, Israel was emboldened to attack Iran directly. The Israeli perception is that Hizbullah are purely an Iranian construct. Zionist logic does not recognize that it is the natural tendency of Muslims to help other Muslims, and to reject occupation and oppression. Hizbullah, whether Iran-backed or not, has clearly been effective, and Israel has failed to return the colonizers to the northern areas which they previously occupied.

The Iranians have promised the Israelis they will hit back. So, there is tension on the border between them. Many countries including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Syria, and Turkey have protested the Israeli attack.

Kashmir

The majority Kashmiris are Muslims. The Indian government treats Kashmiri Muslims as indistinguishable from the rest of India's Muslim population. However, their history, background, and racial grouping is different from other Muslims in India. Muslims ruled India during the Tughlak, Babari-Afghan period, and the Mughal period. The Kashmiris are very different from them.

Pakistan

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has signed an official request for the return of Pakistani political prisoner Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. According to Aafia's family, he had given assurances that he would do so many months ago.

Mass protests demanding Aafia's freedom were held in Islamabad on September 22. Aafia supporters in the US, UK, South Africa, Norway, and elsewhere held actions in solidarity with the Islamabad protest. Alhamdulillah the massive show of support for the "Daughter of the Nation" seems to have encouraged Pakistan's rulers to do the right thing.

The following is worthy of study as a historical document

The Will of Yahya Sinwar

I am Yahya, the son of the refugee who turned exile into a temporary homeland, and turned the dream into an eternal battle.

As I write these words, I recall every moment that has passed in my life: from my childhood in the alleys, to the long years of imprisonment, to every drop of blood that was shed on the soil of this land.

I was born in Khan Yunis camp in 1962, at a time when Palestine was a torn memory and forgotten maps on the tables of politicians.

I am the man who wove his life between fire and ashes, and realized early on that life under occupation means nothing but permanent imprisonment.

I knew from a young age that life in this land is not ordinary, and that whoever is born here must carry in his heart an unbreakable weapon, and realize that the road to freedom is long.

My will to you begins here, from that child who threw the first stone at the occupier, and who learned that stones are the first words we utter in the face of the world that stands silently in front of our wound.

I learned in the streets of Gaza that a person is not measured by the years of his life, but by what he gives to his country. And that was my life: prisons and battles, pain and hope.

I entered prison for the first time in 1988, and I was sentenced to life imprisonment, but I did not know the way to fear.

In those dark cells, I saw in every wall a window to the distant horizon, and in every bar a light illuminating the path to freedom.

In prison, I learned that patience is not just a virtue, but a weapon.. a bitter weapon, like someone who drinks the sea drop by drop.

My advice to you: Do not fear prisons, for they are only part of our long path to freedom.

Prison taught me that freedom is not just a stolen right, but an idea born from pain and refined by patience. When I was released in the "Wafa al-Ahrar" deal in 2011, I did not leave as I was; I left stronger and my faith increased that what we are doing is not just a passing struggle, but rather our destiny that we carry until the last drop of our blood.

My advice is that you remain committed to the gun, to the dignity that is not compromised, and to the dream that never dies. The enemy wants us to abandon the resistance, to turn our cause into an endless negotiation.

But I tell you: Do not negotiate what is rightfully yours. They fear your steadfastness more than they fear your weapons. Resistance is not just a weapon that we carry, but rather it is our love for Palestine in every breath we take, it is our will to remain, despite the siege and aggression. [Continued]

Did NYPD Laziness Get Two Innocent Bystanders Shot?

By Sis. 'Aisha
Jamaat al-Muslimeen New York City

Knife-wielding suspect Derell Mickles, aged 37, has been charged with attempted assault, menacing, and criminal possession of a weapon for a confrontation with NYPD on a Brooklyn subway platform on September 15th. However, not one of these charges involves a murder charge. Not even an attempted murder charge. Yet, the NYPD felt it necessary to draw their weapons and shoot at one man armed with only a knife for entering the subway station without paying his fare.

Besides the suspect being shot in the abdomen, one officer was shot under the left armpit, and a 26-year-old woman was grazed. But the most severe injury was a gunshot wound to the head. Gregory Delpeche, 49 years old, is still hospitalized in critical condition. His family has filed an $80 million lawsuit against New York City. He has suffered irreparable damage.

Mayor Eric Adams, himself a former police officer, defended the conduct of the police officers. He claims that Mickles has had over 20 criminal arrests. In recent years, police officers have resorted to shooting suspects armed with weapons other than firearms. There have been incidents where officers have recklessly shot at suspects in crowds!

Training at the police academy used to teach police officers how to subdue suspects in under 30 seconds. Now, it seems they don't want to get their uniforms dirty. Instead, they would rather shoot at a suspect in a crowd, which is no different than what gang-bangers have done.

Trained police officers shooting at suspects with innocent bystanders around is not just reckless. It is criminal. Prosecutors seem to hold legally armed citizens to a higher standard than they do the police. We citizens are asked to excuse and forgive officers when they do not comply with the law. And, we, the taxpayer, are forced to pay for their trespasses.

Wing of Submission - (Qur'an) - 'Rabbir Hamhumaa Kamaa Rabbayaanee Sagheera'
+ Story of Grandpa's Wooden Bowl

The Recognition and respect of Parents is mentioned

in the Quran {11} eleven times ... !

In Surah Al-Isra' (Children of Israel) there is a very beautiful description

of how Parents are to be treated.

Allah {Azzawajal} says...

' Your Lord had decreed, that you worship none save Him,
and (that you show) kindness to Parents.
If one of them or both of them attain old age with you,
say not 'Fie' unto them nor repulse them,
but speak unto them a gracious word.
And lower unto them the wing of submission through
mercy, and say....

'My Lord, have mercy on them both,

as they did care for me when I was young.'

'Rabbirhamhumaa Kamaa Rabbayani Sagheera'

kindness to Parents.'

The Wooden Bowl

A frail old man went to live with his son,
daughter-in-law, and his four year old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered.
The family ate together at the table.
But the elderly grandfather's
shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult...!
Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became
irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,'
said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating,
and his dropping food on the floor.'
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner .
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the
family enjoyed dinner.
since Grandfather had broken a dish or two,
his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence...{!}
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
so he asked the child sweetly...
'What are you making?'
Just as sweetly, the boy responded....

'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat

your food in when I grow up' {!}

The four year old smiled and went back to work.

The words struck the parents so that they were speechless...!
Then tears started to stream down their cheeks...
Though no word was spoken,
both knew what must be done...

That evening the husband took Grandfather's
hand and gently led him back to the family table.
for the remainder of his days
he ate every meal with the family.
and for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed
to care any longer when a fork was dropped,
the milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.
