David Irving & Max Hastings.
Banned books vs popular books.
A Comparison of how Churchill is a hero in America despite
what he did to German civilians.
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD
Books about sex, conspiracies, perversions and now lgbtq
achieve widespread popularity. The same is true in movies
and late night comedies.
Americans are seldom allowed to know what their government
and its allies are doing both here and overseas.
Let's take the case of David Irving which has long been
forgotten.
Who would have thought that in an era of worldwide
propaganda about democracy and freedom of expression, a
distinguished historian, David Irving, would be arrested in
Austria, a self-proclaimed bastion of freedom!
When Irving was sentenced to three years in prison for
having expressed doubts about the war, years back, about the
Jewish story of the "holocaust," one would have expected
"Great" Britain to protest. After all Irving is a loyal
British citizen! But the British government showed no
concern at such a gross violation of the rights of one of
its eminent citizens.
Not only that, the British press and even the BBC went into
a wave of ecstatic self-congratulation at the humiliation of
this man of letters. The question arises: Why such
inhumanity, why such crass joy at the suffering of a
scholar?
The answer lies in the monumental research work Irving
carried out on Winston Churchill, the man whom the British
and many Americans consider the hero of the Second World
War.
Irving found documentary evidence, from the original, often
hitherto classified, diaries and government papers which
shows that Churchill was a coward and a fraud. Not only
that, Churchill was a mass murderer who crafted the policy
of area bombing of German cities, aimed at the annihilation
of German civilian populations.
Irving also discovered evidence that Churchill was a great
ally of the Zionist movement, though sometimes he played
fast and loose with his Jewish friends. Often, if not
always, with Churchill was his closest adviser, especially
in the bombing of civilians, Lord Cherwell, a Jew who was
nicknamed 'the Prof,' a Jew from Alsace whose real name was
Friedrich Lindemann. [Irving provides a photo of the
'Prof.']
Before we note Irving's documentation of the genocidal
bombing of German cities by Churchill, let us look briefly
at what the British air force did to civilians who were NOT
German but needed to be killed because they were close to
German military-related installations in Europe. This kind
of mass killing is very relevant to understanding what
happened in Iraq , because it appears that Churchill's
policies of mass murder of civilians were quickly picked up
by the allies of the British, the Americans.
Here is an instance of the slaughter of FRENCH civilians by
Churchill's air force. Remember that French public opinion
was not all anti-Hitler and pro-British as is often made out
to be in the popular media of our times.
In March 1942, the British air force killed more than 500
French men, women and children at Billancourt in northern
Paris while ostensibly bombing a German weapons factory, and
seriously injured more than 1,000 French civilians. France
declared a day of National Mourning on March 7. USA had an
embassy in Vichy France [which was allied to Germany] and
the US embassy too lowered its flag.[1]
Irving gives other instances of the slaughter of non-German
civilians who were friends of the Germans, and then he gives
instances of the incineration of entire German cities by the
British and the U.S.
This was not British hatred or a war related tactic. It was
pure and simple GENOCIDE well-thought-out and programmed by
Winston Churchill, as documented by Irving.
Do other historians, allied to the victors, provide
instances of British and U.S. bombing of civilians allied to
or living near the Germans? Very seldom, and then only as
mistakes [what the U.S. called 'collateral damage' in
Iraq.]
Max Hastings, for instance, mentions the bombing of the
Hague in Holland by the British air force on March 3, 1945.
Buried deep inside a paragraph on page 415 of his book we
find the information that the British air raid on the Hague
"killed 511 people and destroyed 3,250 houses" and made
12,000 people homeless. After making various excuses for the
raid, the writer concedes without further discussion that
"Misdirected Allied bombs caused the deaths of substantially
more people in the nations of occupied Europe than the
[German] Luftwaffe killed in its blitz on Britain." [2]
The difference between Irving and Hastings is that Irving's
research unearthed the Churchillian policy of mass murder of
civilians. Note that we have not yet reached the discussion
of the destruction of German cities. [To be continued]

Taunsa/DG Khan: August 22: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq
has called for ceasefire between federal and Punjab
governments, appealing them to pay attention on flood hit
areas.
Talking to local journalists here on Monday, he said the
rain waters washed away villages in southern Punjab, making
thousands homeless waiting for the government aid.
But, he added, the rulers were engaged in fights for
self-interests, abandoning the people. He said it was not
the first-time rulers left alone the masses in need. Public
welfare had need been on the agenda of the ruling parties,
he added.
He said the prime minister and Punjab chief minister should
be present among the affectees instead of sitting at their
luxury offices.
He said the PTI chairman held public meetings in twin
cities, ignoring the people of the two provinces where his
party was in power. He said the government must ensure the
dispatch of food and other items in the flood hit area or
the JI would hold sit-in in front of the PM and CM offices
in Islamabad and Lahore.
Sirajul Haq, who is on three-day visit to southern Punjab
since Sunday to express solidarity with the calamity hit
people, had also visited Balochistan few days ago. He told
the journalists that rain waters made thousands homeless in
27 districts of the province. "People in Balochistan are
also waiting for government help," he said.
He also appealedto the armed forces to spend their maximum
resources to provide relief to the poor masses. He said if
the leaders of the ruling parties were unwilling to leave
their bungalows and office then they should provide the
state resources to the JI for relief activities.
"Over 2,000 workers and volunteers of the JI and al-Khidmat
Foundation are busy in relief activities alone in southern
Punjab. We have the capability to serve the masses. Provide
us resources if you (rulers) do not want to go there."
He appealed to the public for donations and funds for flood
relief activities.

At the start of the week, the pope apologised for the first

forced-assimilation institutions rife with abuse that more
than 150,000 Indigenous children were obligated to attend

"I humbly beg forgiveness for the evil committed by so many

Dear readers of New Trend
I seldom if ever write about my self.
I want to share this with you.
I had major surgery of hernia on August 16, and then another
one for follow up on August 24.
The anaesthesia for this second one was heavy and it took me
a whole day to get out of the fog of this second one.
I am steadily improving owing to the love and care of my
dear and near ones.
America's medical technology is very advanced but for
recovery one needs loving care, compassion and kindness.
I am surprised that so many people wrote messages of
sympathy and support for me. I have been so critical of just
about everyone that I am "floored" by this kindness.
May Allah bless you all.

To my mind, Israel's hatred of the Palestinians is shaped
and driven by three basic sentiments: fear, envy and
anger.
Fear is a major factor - it can be irrational but also
instrumental.
It should come as no surprise that Israel has continued to
fear the Palestinians well after it occupied all their lands
and became a mighty regional and nuclear power. Because its
fear of the Palestinians is not merely physical or material,
it is existential.
Under the apt title: Why all Israelis are cowards, an
Israeli columnist wondered in 2014 what kind of a society
produces cowardly soldiers who shoot unarmed
Palestinian youth from a long distance.
Some four years later, in 2018, it was indeed surreal to
watch Israeli soldiers hide behind fortified defences as
they shot hundreds of unarmed protesters for days on
end.

Toronto Students Support Uighur Muslims of China
On July 26, the University of Toronto Students' Union (UTSU)
released a statement titled "Solidarity with Uyghur
Students." In the statement, the UTSU affirmed its support
for Uyghur Muslim students at U of T and condemned the
Chinese government's persecution of Uyghur Muslims in the
Xinjiang region of China.
In the 1990s, the Xinjiang region, an autonomous region in
China, experienced a wave of separatist activism, resulting
in the Ghulja massacre in which hundreds of peaceful
protesters were allegedly shot by Chinese military forces.
The Chinese authorities blamed the Uyghur population —
which accounts for more than 40 per cent of the region's
population — for the protests.
Since then, Chinese authorities have kept the region under
strict surveillance.
The Chinese authorities have reportedly forcibly relocated
over a million Uyghur people to "re-education camps" and
imprisoned thousands of others. While the Chinese government
denies these allegations, numerous documents leaked in May
2022 detail the illegal detention of the Uyghur people by
Chinese authorities.
In January 2021, the United States declared that China's
persecution of Uyghur Muslims constitutes genocide.
UTSU's statement
The UTSU statement reads, "The UTSU stands in solidarity
with Uyghur Muslim students facing discrimination,
harassment, unsafety, separation from relatives in
concentration camps, and in exile from their homeland East
Turkistan."
The union urges the U of T community to take action against
China's treatment of Uyghur Muslims.
Additionally, the union demands that the university
diligently work to "ensure that it does not purchase or use
goods from foreign and domestic companies that directly or
indirectly contribute to human rights abuses against
Uyghurs." The statement specifically refers to major North
American fashion retailers that have been accused of buying
cotton produced by forced labour in Xinjiang.
The statement concludes by calling other U of T student
bodies to foster a "welcoming space for all students from
marginalized backgrounds, and to pay attention to and
support Muslim students feeling unsafe due to their
ethnicity."
UTSU's future advocacy plans and demands
In an email to The Varsity, UTSU President Omar Gharbiyeh
discussed the union's statement.
"The UTSU has a duty to ensure that these students feel
welcomed, safe, and acknowledged on campus," wrote
Gharbiyeh.
Gharbiyeh acknowledged that some may question the pertinence
of global events for a student union, but Gharbiyeh believes
that it is the UTSU's responsibility to "advocate for
justice globally."
According to Gharbiyeh, the union anticipates more advocacy
initiatives as part of its commitment to stand with Uyghur
Muslims. "This is the first concrete statement our
institution has made on the issue, but we are in the process
of articulating and designing a more fulsome and robust
response throughout the coming year, particularly through
our equity-related events and programming."
Gharbiyeh also shared several actions U of T could take to
support Uyghur students. He believes the university should
boycott companies "benefiting from Uyghur forced labour,"
provide support to students experiencing displacement, and
ensure that the Chinese persecution of Uyghur Muslims is
covered in the university's curriculum.
Additionally, Gharbiyeh believes that the university should
condemn China's persecution of Uyghur Muslims.
Gharbiyeh concluded, "Making spaces accessible, implementing
anti-racism, gender-based violence, and equity policies and
holding one another accountable is essential to fostering a
welcoming environment."
Rate of conversion to Islam in Prisons.
30,000 to 40, 000 every year.
Professor Lawrence Mamiya of Religion and Africana Studies
argues that Islam's appeal in prison is partially due to the
spiritual and theological dimensions of the religion (such
as brotherhood along with racial and social justice)[16] as
well as the social aspect (such as protection and communal
life) it provides the inmate.[11] J. Michael Waller, senior
analyst for Strategy at the far-right Center for Security
Policy, claims that 80% of the prisoners who find faith
while in prison convert to Islam.[22]
He also claims that Muslim inmates comprise 17-20% of the
prison population in New York, or roughly 350,000 inmates in
2003. Independent studies show similar rates within prisons
in the upper Midwest (in urban areas such as Chicago,
Detroit, and Cleveland) and on the West Coast (in the San
Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles).[11]
These converted inmates are mostly African American, with a
growing Hispanic minority.[23] According to a 2003 estimate
by FBI, there are 350,000 Muslims in federal, state and
local prison, about 30,000 - 40,000 more being converted
every year.[15][24]
