Father and Daughter for Islam

Scroll down. That's my daughter, Nadrat, on my left. Look at
her shirt. She is supporting freedom for Dr. Aafia Siddiqui
who though innocent is in a US prison.
Nadrat is a marathoner and has run scores of marathons,
including the Boston marathon, in support of people's causes
such as Palestine, Black Lives Matter, women's rights,
political prisoners and forgotten veterans.
There is hardly any Islamic and/or oppressed people's cause
which she has not supported.
We are part of Jamaat al-Muslimeen which uses peaceful means
to bring attention to the causes of oppressed and exploited
people.
To succeed as a marathoner, she is very strict in matters of
healthy life style and nutritious food.
We often meet at mosques to talk about Islam and to motivate
each other in the Cause of Allah.
Pakistan
Pakistan: One Surprise after the Other
The Supreme Court of Pakistan declared that the Assembly
cannot be dissolved and the no-Trust vote cannot be stopped
[as Imran Khan had managed to do.]
Soon it appeared that Imran was no longer the Prime
Minister, but he had a winning card.
Imran claimed that "foreign influence " and interference
was behind his removal.
Imran addressed the nation by TV and claimed that he had
received a threat from overseas and hinted that it was from
USA.
The masses were seemingly waiting to hear criticism of USA
at the national level;.
As we go the "press" there has been an outburst of protests
[after Isha prayers] across Pakistan in every city and town,
against USA and for Imran Khan.
A new Prime Minister is supposed to be inducted on
Monday.
Probably Imran Khan will be a strong opposition leader.
The protests have spread to overseas Pakistani
communities.
Some of the protests are denouncing the army chief, a very
rare situation in Pakistan though he is known to be working
for America..
War News
Ukraine
Russia on the Defensive.
British Prime Minister visited Kiev and is
sending another $100 million in weapons to Ukraine.
Russia has retreated from areas around Kiev. Russian attacks
on civilians continue. A missile hit a train station
reportedly killing 50 civilians.
Fighting has intensified in southern Ukraine. Mariupol is
still holding out against Russian forces. MSNBC reported
that there are Nazi fighters of the Azov brigade in this
city.
Russian troops seem to lack discipline and motivation.
Burkina Faso [West Africa]
At least a dozen soldiers and four paramilitary fighters
were killed during an attack on an army base in Burkina
Faso's Sanmatenga province.
The assault on Friday in the northern region also left more
than 20 soldiers wounded, the army said in a statement.
[Islamic State is suspected.]
Iraq
The Baghdad regime is reporting military action against ISIS
in all the provinces.
However it has described only two incidents.
One in Anbar province where two regime troops were
killed.
Near Mosul, an ISIS human bomber wounded 8 regime troops
including two officers
Pro- Iran group tried to hit US camp in Erbil again but with
no losses.
Syria
April 10
Russian jets carried out 20 air strikes on suspected ISIS
hideouts in the deserts of Homs and al-Raqqa provinces.
Eastern Idlib province, a sniper from Islamic Tahrir killed
an Assad regime officer and a soldier.
Russian jets carried out 8 air strikes in southern Idlib,
Jabal al-Zawiyah area.
Gunmen attacked Syrians supporting Turkey near El Bab,
killing 7. One of the gunmen was also killed.
Israeli jets attacked Iranian positions east of Palmyra.
Structures were damaged but no casualties. Iranians are
re-positioning.
Iraq is deeply concerned about the al-Hol refugee camp where
among 56,000 refugees there are many Iraqis including women
who support ISIS.

On April 8, a Jamaat al-Muslimeen document of six pages
taken from New Trend was given to 50 Muslims after juma''
salat.
This MCC masjid has developed in positive ways . It has a
free medical center, advising for new Muslims and various
conference rooms. Best of all is a senior lounge for older
people, very rare in our mosques.
The Jamaat document included these items:

the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may
Allaah exalt his mention ) said...
'Verily, Fasting and the Qur`an will intercede for the
servant on the Day of Judgment'.
Fasting will say...
'O Lord, I prevented him from food, drink and sexual desires
during the day,
So, please, accept my intercession for him.'
The Noble Qur`an will say...
'O Lord , I prevented him from sleep at night. So, please,
accept my intercession for him.'
Prophet ~ (Salallaahu 'Alayhi wa Sallam) said...
"Then, they will be permitted to intercede."

Narrated By
'Umar bin Al-Khattab, r.a.:
I heard Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam reciting Surat-al-Furqan
in a way different to that of mine. Allah's Apostle had
taught it to me (in a different way). So, I was about to
quarrel with him (during the prayer) but I waited till he
finished, then I tied his garment round his neck and seized
him by it and brought him to Allah's Apostle and said, "I
have heard him reciting Surat-al-Furqan in a way different
to the way you taught it to me."
The Prophet ordered me to release him and asked Hisham to
recite it. When he recited it, Allah s Apostle said, "It was
revealed in this way." He then asked me to recite it.
When I recited it, he said, "It was revealed in this way.
The Qur'an has been revealed in seven different ways, so
recite it in the way that is easier for you."

IS is a Serious threat
Israel is now on full alert after two weeks of individual
attacks by Palestinians affiliated to the Islamic State
[IS].
14 Israelis have been killed. The Palestinian shooters too
were killed and Israel is blowing up their family homes.
The occupiers are heavily armed with high security and are
shocked that IS broke through.
During this blessed month of Ramadan, don't forget Muslim
political prisoners.

Muslims claim to be the followers of Islam. They also claim
to be the adherents to Prophet Muhammad (peace be umon
him)'s teachings and legacy. But the path they have taken in
politics, state building, education, judiciary, social
policies, warfare and culture is not the same that the
Prophet (peace be upon him) of Islam and his companions
followed. There exist more dissimilarities than similarities
between the two. In the path of the Prophet (peace be up on
him)'s there were mass-scale Qur'anic literacy, Islamic
state building, sharia based judiciary, jihad for the
eradication of evil forces, and cosmopolitan Muslim unity.
But these are not seen in the lives of today''s Muslims.
They have abandoned Islam's key political, ideological, and
civilisational objective long ago. They have also ignored
their own assigned role. They have invented their own
convenient brand of Islam that restricts religious practices
only within the rituals like five time prayers, month long
fasting, hajj and zakat. Muslims' most obligatory
responsibility to work as the viceroy of Allah Sub'hana wa
Ta'ala is kept out of the focus or totally forgotten. Thus
Muslims make a wide deviation from the Qur'anic roadmap -the
siratul mustaqeem. This way they betray their own
belief.
The downfall of Muslims owes to the defeat not only in
military wars, but also in war of ideas. The European
colonialists colonised not only Muslims' lands but also
their minds. They invaded the conceptual premise and damaged
it badly. They restricted the Qur'anic literacy cum
guidance. Because of detachment from the Qur'anic guidance,
they failed to identify Truth from falsehood. It also
damages the understanding of their own role. As a result,
jihad for eradicating the wrong and establishing the right
-as was seen in Prophet (peace be upon him)'s life, has no
place in their life. It also affected the traditional ulama.
Most of these ulama consider such political struggle a tool
of distraction from spiritual development and ibada. So they
keep themselves away from engaging in politics. As if,
politics is an exclusive domain of the secularists.
Setting direction for the state, framing its policies and
laws, building its institutions, and guiding the people are
the functions of politics. Hence, a person who is assigned
to work as the viceroy of Allah Sub'hana wa Ta'ala, how can
he or she keep himself and herself out of politics? And
being out of politics, how can he or she play his or her
civilizational role? Then, Islam's holistic objectives stay
only in the pages of the Holy Qur'an. It also goes against
the most important legacy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) engaged in politics,
built a state, fought wars, engaged with foreign states,
implemented social policies to execute his state-building as
well as a civilisation-building role. How can one be a true
Muslim without following such prophetic tradition? How can
one play a civilizational role if his or her practices stay
restricted only inside mosques, religious seminaries and
prayer rooms?
Politics decides the fate of a people. It is not a secular
profession for a Muslim; it is jihad -the highest ibada in
Islam. The Islamic objective can attain its goal only
through it. This is why the Prophet (peace be upon him) had
to sit on the driving seat for 10 years. But, because of
deep conceptual corruption, most religious scholars and
common Muslims stay out of politics. As a result of
political void, the alien or home-grown enemies of Islam
could easily occupy the driving seats of almost every Muslim
country.
Even when the Muslim lands were occupied one by one by the
kuffar colonialists, the so-called ulama remained secluded
inside mosques and religious seminaries. They didn't engage
in obligatory jihad against the kuffar occupiers. As a
result, the enemies of Islam could easily take control of
the whole Muslim World without fighting a single significant
war. They enjoyed a trouble-free period of about two hundred
years to run their corruptive educational, cultural and
ideological engineering to take people far away from Islam.
Those kuffar colonialists have left; but most Muslim
countries still remain occupied by the colonial educational
products. This is indeed the most calamitous event in Muslim
history.
For a non-Muslim, politics is a tool for grabbing power and
pursuing the objectives of a person, party, tribe, class or
nation. But for a Muslim, it is the holy jihad for
fulfilling Islam's sublime civilizational goal. Hence, every
Muslim man and woman must have a political role. For
building a civilization, it needs laws and law-enforcement
agencies. It also needs to frame policies on social welfare,
education, culture, economics, defence, security, and many
others. Since these are exclusively the functions of a
state, how can one influence the state policies without
engaging in politics? This is why the Prophet (peace be upon
him) and his devout companions had to engage in politics
till the last days of life. They fought wars, raised a
state, and continuously expanded and strengthened it. The
denial of politics is indeed the betrayal of the assigned
role. It is also the betrayal of the Prophet (peace be upon
him)'s legacy. It is also a treachery against Islam's
humanising cum civilizational objective. How such a betrayal
can be reconciled with the vision of Allah Sub'hana wa
Ta'ala which commands that His deen should prevail over all
forms of falsehood and fake religions?
