First: Mass Culture, now the Pandemic. What will our young People do?
by Kaukab Siddique, PhD
Most people in America talk, walk and dress the same way..
The dating system is prevalent.
Black people are not very different in lifestyle from White
people. Look at Essence magazine. Only the skin color is
different.
Random sex. Liquor, gambling and , increasingly, drugs.
The desire for flashy cars, the admiration for rich people,
the adulation of "celebrities," its all there. [Exceptions
prove the rule.]
Muslims have by and large not succumbed to or have resisted
mass culture.
Now, with the pandemic, the focus on the mass culture has
become "micro" or irresistible.. There is no escape from the
mass culture.
The religion of mass culture is also infecting Muslims.
Thoughts like he/she is in a "better place" or "rest in
peace" or Jesus or the Mahdi will come and straighten out
this ugly world. [How do you know she is in a better
place?]
The solution to the fantasies of mass culture may well be in
in the minds of Islamic scholars. Every Friday, imams at a
thousand, or more mosques [masajid] in America have
"captive" audiences. The imams habitually talk of
abstractions, like compassion, faith, brotherhood, love and
much more. These are beautiful thoughts but our people are
not philosophers . As soon as they step outside the masjid,
they are surrounded by mass culture.
Mass culture gives them specific examples of people all of
whom are non-Muslims.
Our solution is in the Sunnah: The example of a human being,
pbuh, who lived and succeeded through struggle and
effort.
Remember his grandchildren riding on his back while he was
praying? Remember him shortening his prayers when he heard
babies crying?
Remember him weeping when the baby Ibrahim, Maria's, r.a.,
son died?
Remember him at Badr when he prayed thinking Islam might be
wiped out without Allah's help.
Let us give role models to our youths: Sahaba are most
important, next to the Prophet, pbuh.
Abu Bakr, r.a., for steadfastness and faith.
Abu Bakr,s daughter Asma, r.a., for putting her life on the
line to bring food to the cave where he was concealed,
pbuh.
Ayesha, r.a. his second daughter for her scholarship and
leadership and going on the battlefield to confront the
murderers of Usman, r.a.
Umar, r.a., for justice even against his son and accepting
criticism by a woman even in the holiest mosque.
Usman, r.a., for his endless generosity, for compiling the
Qur'an and his unequalled love for the daughters of the
Prophet, pbuh.
For Khalid, r.a., the sword of Allah, who defeated the Roman
armies.
And even centuries later: Muhammad ibn Qasim, Mahmoud
Ghaznawi, Aurangzeb, Salahuddin Ayyubi.
And in our own times Hasan al-Banna, Syed Qutb, Iqbal,
Jinnah, Maudoodi, Malcolm X.
The examples and role models are endless.
Let us move from philosophy to reality.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman
Leading JI Rally against PPP Karachi's
Misguidance
by Qaiser Sharif
LAHORE: Jan 04:While expressing solidarity with the "Give
Rights to Karachi Movement", Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul
Haq has advised the PPP to listen to the demands of the
participants of the sit-in to prove its democratic
credentials.
In a statement issued from Mansoora on Tuesday, he asked the
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to issue direction to
the Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to hold dialogue
with the JI Karachi chapter to peacefully resolve the
issue.
The JI Karachi led by its Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has been
holding the sit-in in front of Sindh Assembly for almost a
week with the demands from the provincial government to take
back the recently adopted Sindh Local Government Act and pay
attention to resolve the civic issues of the port city.
Sirajul Haq expressed concerned over the bill, saying the
PPP government being a majority party had no right to ignore
the joint opposition which was equal in size. He said the
provincial government should not act like the federal
government and must pay attention to the problems of the
people.
The JI chief also called the meeting of the central
leadership in Islamabad on Wednesday to discuss the Karachi
situation. He is visiting Karachi on January 7 to
participate in the sit-in.
Meanwhile, Sirajul Haq addressed the participants of
training workshop at Mansoora and asked the JI workers to
spent their full energies to transform Pakistan into welfare
Islamic state. He said the PTI failed to deliver in three
and half years and proved the agent of the status quo. He
said the democracy could not deliver in the country because
the ruling elite only used the slogan to befool the masses.
He said the people of Pakistan should reject the tested
parties in the polls and vote for the JI to transform
Pakistan into democratic welfare Islamic state in true
sense.

Ahmaud Arbery Killers Get Life in Prison.
Janury 7.
BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Three white men convicted of murder
for chasing and killing Ahmaud Arbery were sentenced to life
in prison Friday, with a judge denying any chance of parole
for the father and son who armed themselves and initiated
the deadly pursuit of the 25-year-old Black man.
Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley said Arbery left his
home for a jog and ended up running for his life for five
minutes as the men chased him until they finally cornered
him. The judge paused for a minute of silence to help drive
home a sense of what that time must have felt like for
Arbery, whose killing became part of a larger national
reckoning on racial injustice.
"When I thought about this, I thought from a lot of
different angles. I kept coming back to the terror that must
have been in the mind of the young man running through
Satilla Shores," he said, mentioning the neighborhood where
Arbery was killed.
Greg and Travis McMichael grabbed guns and jumped in a
pickup truck to chase Arbery after spotting him running in
their neighborhood outside the port city of Brunswick on
Feb. 23, 2020. Their neighbor, William "Roddie" Bryan joined
the pursuit in his own truck and recorded cellphone video of
Travis McMichael firing close-range shotgun blasts into
Arbery.

Russian-led military troops will be deployed to help
"stabilise" Kazakhstan amid anti-government
demonstrations.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for support from the
Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) as nationwide
unrest escalates.
The protests were first sparked by rising fuel prices, but
have broadened to include other political grievances.
President Tokayev claimed the unrest was the work of
foreign-trained "terrorist gangs".
However, Kate Mallinson, an expert on Central Asia at the
foreign affairs think tank Chatham House in London, said the
protests are "symptomatic of very deep-seated and simmering
anger and resentment at the failure of the Kazhak government
to modernise their country and introduce reforms that impact
people at all levels".
The president has imposed a nationwide state of emergency
that includes an overnight curfew and a ban on mass
gatherings and has vowed a tough response to the
protests.
Lesson from Hadith by Sis. Yasmin
'Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem'.
**********************************************
'Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barkatuh'.
Admiring Oneself After Doing a Good Deed.
If a person feels self admiration after doing
something good or fears that he may show off,
he should ward that off and resist it by seeking
refuge with ALLAH from it, by saying...
'Allaahumma inni a'oodhu bika an ushrika bika
wa ana a'lam, wa'staghfiruka lima laa a'lam.'
Translation :
' O ALLAH, I seek refuge with you from knowingly associating anything
with YOU, and I seek Your forgiveness for that of which I am unaware"
Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallaam) said ---
These kind of feelings happen to everyone
but you have to try to be sincere towards Allah,
seek His forgiveness, and remember that
there is no strength and no power except with ALLAAH .
if it were not for the help of Allah,
you would not have been able to do this good deed,
so to Allah be praise in the beginning and at the end.
{Alhamdulillah}
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallaam).
said to Mu'aadh ibn Jabal (r.a.) ---
"O Mu'adh, by Allah indeed I love you,
and I advise you, O Mu'adh, do not forget
at the end of every prayer to say---
Transliteration:
'Allaahumma a'inni 'ala Dhikrika wa Shukrika
wa Husni 'Ibaaditika.'
Translation:
'O Allah help me to remember You,
give Thanks to You and
Worship You in the best way. '
{ Source ~Narrated by Ahmad, Abu Dawood, al-Nasaa'i, (Sahih
Hadith) }
Do not forego doing good deeds for fear of showing off,
because this is one of the tricks that the Shaytan uses to
weaken people's resolve and stop them from doing things that
Allah loves and is pleased with{!}
As for merely feeling happy that one has done a good deed,
this does not contradict sincerity and faith.
for ALLAH says ---
" Say: "In the Bounty of Allâh, and in His Mercy
(i.e. Islâm and the Qur'ân)
therein let them rejoice."
That is better than the wealth they amass. "
[Source ~ Qur'an~ Surat Yunus 10~ A # 58]
Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi wa Sallaam) said---
If he attains guidance, faith in righteous deeds,
and mercy resulting from what overwhelms him
and he feels joy and success as a result, then
Allah commanded us to rejoice over such things.
Prophet (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallaam) said---
"If your good deeds make you happy and your bad deeds make
you sad, then you are a believer."
{Source~ Narrated by Ahmad, Ibn Majaah and others from the
hadeeth of Abu Umaamah;
( it is a Saheeh Hadeeth) }
By the same token, if people praise you for your
good deed, then this is a portion of the glad tidings
of the Hereafter, which ALLAH gives a person
in this world.
The Messenger of Allah
(Sallallahu 'Alaihi wa Sallaam) was asked---
" What do you think if a man does a good deed
and the people praise him for it ? "
he answered...
"That is the portion of the glad tidings for the
believer which he is given in this world."
{ Source: Narrated by Muslim from the Hadeeth of Abu
Hurairah (Allah be pleased with him) }
So this praise is a sign that ALLAH is pleased
with him and loves him,
so HE makes him dear to other people.
A Little Note ---
We ask ALLAH [Azza Wa Jal] to make our intentions
and deeds right for HIM alone .
"In Shaa Allah"... 'Aameen'.

"I Want to Die With my Forehead on the Ground,
The Sunnah in my Heart, Allah on my Mind,

Mother, Where's My Country?: Looking for Light in the
Darkness of Manipur
By Anubha Bhonsle
In Mahasweta Devi's short story 'Draupadi', an adivasi woman
from Bengal refuses to put on her clothes after she is taken
into custody and raped by soldiers of the Indian Army. At
the end of the story the naked Draupadi confronts the army
officer who sanctioned her rape and who now stands before
her as 'an unarmed target', in a state of total paralysis
usually associated with the victim.
In January 2000 Heisnam Kanhailal adapted the story as a
play. When it was first staged in Imphal, with Kanhailal's
wife Heisnam Sabitri playing the lead, the play did not go
all the way. The magnificent final scene in which Draupadi
faces her abusers, naked and bloody but fierce, was not
shown, only suggested. But the troupe realized that for the
play to really work it had to startle the audience.
Later that year, the play was part of a festival organized
by the National School of Drama in Delhi. When the play was
staged at the Shri Ram Centre Auditorium, the troupe enacted
it in its truest form, including the final scene. The
audience was overwhelmed.
Four years later, the play turned out to be prophetic, a
premonition of a real event in the history of Manipur when
twelve Imas, mothers, stood naked in public to protest the
killing and possible rape of a young girl, Thangjam
Manorama. Quite like Mahasweta Devi's Draupadi they gave up
modesty for justice and displaced some of the shame of
nakedness and violation onto the soldiers of the Assam
Rifles who were accused of raping and killing Manorama.
Kanhailal got many phone calls that day. The morning
newspapers of 16 July 2004 called him Ching'ü, a wise man,
who could foresee the future.
Corruption in Pakistan.
A sarcastic blog by Omar bin Abdullah.
Pakistan opposition members' shrieking calls for prime
minister Imran Khan's head over the Election Commission of
Pakistan's scrutiny committee report about foreign funds
received by the ruling Pakistan Tehrik-i Insaf.
Naturally, this is juicy news for certain television anchors
on the other side of the border. Lo and behold, not to miss
such opportunity is Arnab Goswami, host of The Republic, the
hardline Indian TV outlet, who keeps a keen eye trained on
neighboring Pakistan.
A sharp eye on the Pakistani opposition, leads him to
Marriyum Aurangzeb, a member of the National Assembly and
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz spokesperson, who served as
information minister in Shahid Khaqan Abbasi cabinet and
previously in the third Sharif ministry.
To offer his viewers a better background of his guest to
provide depth to his story, Goswami starts, "Ms. Marriyum
Aurangzeb, Indians value your valiant efforts at
destabilizing Imran Khan. I understand that like most of
your party colleagues and indeed of other parties like
Pakistan Peoples Party, you too enjoy an inherited seat in
the house.
"I know, in India too we have similar patterns. Nehru to
Indira to Rajiv, and now cousins Rahul and Varun in Lok
Sabha... but they won't go farther.
"I've heard about your remarkable mother Tahira Aurangzeb, a
Rawalpindi nurse, who as luck would have it, in the early
90s, was assigned care for Nawaz Sharif's mother. She liked
her so much that she got her son, Nawaz, to duly reward her,
first by promoting her from grade 8 grade 17, and later with
an assembly seat, which you inherited.
"Your mother was member for a decade, 2008 to 2018. A
consummate politician, upon entering politics she divorced
you father, a grade 10 employee, and married Raja Aurangzeb
Abbasi, a party senior.
"I hear that Nawaz's love for his mother knew no bounds,
especially at taxpayers' cost. In 2001, after Gen. Pervez
Musharraf ousted him, your mother not only joined the
general, but also used to appear on television, branding
Sharif a traitor and a corrupt politician. However, in 2008,
she rejoined Sharif, at his mother's prodding, he forgave
her and made her a senator. In 2013, when the law
disqualified your mother, Nawaz being a traditionalist, duly
seated you instead.
"I hear that Nawaz's love for his mother, went beyond a
seat, and helped your mother climb up the real estate
ladder, from a rented house in 1990 to multibillion property
portfolio.
"So, Marriyum, you, being the stuff servitude is made of,
are best to talk about your party's position. Why has Nawaz
gone overseas? And why Imran seems to be upset about it."
"Mr. Goswami, you may have seen Imran play in India. You
know he is relentlessly greedy. I mean Pakistan has the 23rd
largest prison population in the world, with like 81,000
prisoners... and he just keeps wailing over one escaped
prisoner, Mr. Nawaz Sharif. Does one make a difference?"
"Marriyum, recently Imran said that his government is laying
highways for 138% less cost than road projects completed
during your government, while generating 125% more revenue
despite inflation."
"Arnab, I say Imran Khan stops sending fake tweets, when he
used to say he will not build any roads. Only our Sublime
Leader Nawaz Sharif is the true road builder."
"Marriyum, you may have heard Imran claiming that they have
freed Rs.5 billion worth of land from encroachments..."
"No, Arnab, the nation does not want to hear his puerile
remarks and lies. It demands Imran's resignation."
"Indeed, Marriyum, exactly this is what India wants..."
"Of course. Modiji is dear friend of our Nawaz Sharif. Who
likes Imran in India, you tell me? You can imagine the love
for one who took 40 wickets against India in the 1982-83
series.
"I don't know how much he studied at Oxford or was just
playing cricket there. But it seems that his vocabulary has
shrunk to one word, which is corruption. See India has a
vast arsenal. Imagine if the right palms had not been oiled,
would India have Barak missiles or Bofors guns? Or, for that
matter Rafales or Scorpenes.
"Now, you tell me in this constant howling about corruption,
who would even care to sell hairpins to Pakistan?
"Instead of going to IMF right away, Imran kept waiting for
recoveries... you know Nawaz Sharif was clamped with £8
million fine, while his daughter Maryam Nawaz with a £2
million fine. This is not how you run your country's
budget!
"Arnab, you need to concede that Imran's corruption-phobia
has ruined Pakistan."
Report from India.
Dr. Javed Jamil on Late Age Marriages & Worldwide
Corruption.
"After decriminalization of Homosexuality and adultery three
years back, increasing the legal age for marriage of girls
is another bombardment on the family system", said Dr. Javed
Jamil, renowned thinker and writer and Chair in Islamic
Studies & research, Yenepoya University. He was the
addressing an online programme as part of the weekly Ijtama
organised by Jamaat Islami Hind Markaz, New Delhi on First
January. In a hard-hitting 50-minute talk, he described the
so-called modern international system as "more barbaric than
any system in any part of the history, especially in terms
of the position of women and children". Tracing the history
of the on-going disintegration and desecration of Family
System, he said that the market-driven "Economic
Fundamentalism" is dead against the traditional family
system because unless it is desecrated, they cannot
commercialize the human weaknesses. "In Sex, they have found
the hen which always lays golden eggs", he said.
Dr. Jamil asked why the legal consent of sex, which is 16 in
India, was not raised at the same time. "It means that they
want more and more girls to be involved in pre-marital
relationships paving the way for the bigger and bigger
commercialization of sex, beauty and man-woman attraction",
he argued. He lambasted "Freedom of Choice" as the biggest
tool in the hands of the market forces. "While there is ban
on marrying before 21 (No Freedom of Choice here), is there
ban on developing physical relationship before that age?",
he asked. He made the following important points:
Engaging in sex before 21 is Freedom of Choice. But this
freedom of choice is denied if they want to marry.
In the so-called modern world, while there are rules and
regulations and written documents in starting any activity,
right from owning and driving vehicles, to enter into any
form of business agreement or opening any shop or starting
any business, any legal provision is not required for
developing a relationship, which has huge implications for
society, especially for women and their born or unborn
children.. The only condition is their mutual though
undeclared consent.
Increasing marriage age will help markets in a big way.
Night life of all kinds will prosper. Young men and women
are required more in market in night times than in their
homes.
Markets hardly care if STDs including HIV/AIDs kills
millions every year, if rapes continue to zoom, if the
unborn babies are killed in hundreds of millions every year.
But the business must go on. What a travesty of judgment?
What a travesty of human health! Politics, media and
academics all have become their partners, with no one
interested in raising the alarm over this colossal
desecration of life and honour.
Every year, more than 100 million (10 crore) children are
killed by way of abortions. "History has never seen a bigger
carnage than this, and yet this is nowhere discussed as
human rights issue" There are reports of even six month old
babies being snatched out of wombs and mercilessly killed in
many abortion clinics.
In the Western world, 40-70 pc children are born out of
wedlock.
Up to 70-80 pc children in Western countries are living
with single parents, and it is mostly wpomen who have to
bear this brunt alone.
"Freedom of Women" is nothing but "Freedom to men to
enjoy, exploit and commercialise the services of women."
In last 30 years more than 38 million people have died of
HIV/AIDS, with promiscuity, homosexuality and prostitution
being the biggest factors. More women catch sex transmitted
infections and hundreds of thousands also die of Cancer
Cervix, which is related to Human Papilloma Virus, which
spreads through sexual perversions and also more commonly in
females having relations with uncircumcised men.
Increase in marriage age will have hardly any impact on
population rise, as the couple in marriage is always free to
adopt family planning methods.
Dr. Jamil argued that "Family System is the biggest safety
wall against Sex Transmitted Diseases." He explained that
Islam provides perfect health-protective system and the
rights and duties of men and women are based on their
natural strengths and weaknesses. He explained how Islam's
three-dimensional system of Fundamental Rights, Duties and
Prohibitions is a perfect system of holistic peace and
health. He called upon all religions and other right
thinking people to unite against the onslaught on family
system being perpetrated by the forces of economics in
collaboration with political forces.

I Owe This to Every Palestinian Child
by Sis. Laila Yaghi
I owe this to every Palestinian child
And to every Palestinian mother
And father that suffered
To write a glimpse of a story
Under an olive tree
A child suckled from his mother
Content
A bomb dropped
Burying the mother
And a char-coal like child
In a house five children cried
A sister and four little brothers
Waiting for a makeshift soup to finish
Their mother hoping they will sleep before
Realizing it was not real
But a bomb dropped
On the makeshift soup that spilled over on the burnt
bodies
Of the little girl and her four brothers and mother
I owe this to every Palestinian child
And to every Palestinian mother
And father that suffered
To write that every Palestinian child
Has the right to live like any child
And to breathe with no worries
Can you tell me how can we stand to eat?
While a mother by a grave yard kneels
Crying for her five children
Can you tell me how can we stand to laugh?
How does our mouth have the audacity to stretch open
wide?
From side to side
When a father stands helpless
In shock watching his home getting destroyed
By tractors right in front of his eyes
Or a mother that gathered half of her children
Then ran away to shield them
From bombs that spray like shooting stars
Throughout the night
I owe it to the little Palestinian girl
Who screamed with her little voice why?
When all her family was killed
She sat there helpless by their corpses...
On rubble that once she and her family lived in
I owe this to my Palestinian grandmother
Who fled her home bare-footed
Kicked out, leaving miles and miles of orchards
And trails and trails of tears
I owe this to my Palestinian Dad
Who worked on the tractors when only ten
Wearing sandals that were pinned by wire
After he was living like a prince
And now that my pen has also cried
From a glimpse of a story that's been written
I salute every Palestinian child
Every Palestinian Mother
Every Palestinian father
And the world should know now why
As-slamu alaikum,
Make dua for your children. Even if they have gone astray,
pray for them.
Tell your child repeatedly that you love them, tell them how
gorgeous they are and how important they are to you. Hug
them - its a sunnah to kiss your children.
Your children need your presence more than your presents
Your children will become what you are; so be what you want
them to be.
May Allah protect our children whenever and wherever they
are,

China breaking Humanity & International Law
14 Years for teaching Qur"an
Court officisl Confirms it.
January 7, 2022
A Uyghur woman abducted from her home in China's far-western
Xinjiang region in the middle of the night more than four
years ago was sentenced to 14 years in prison for providing
religious instruction to children in her neighborhood and
hiding copies of the Quran, sources with knowledge of the
situation and local police said.
Hasiyet Ehmet, now 57 and a resident of Manas (in Chinese,
Manasi) county in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture in
Xinjiang, has not been heard from since she was abducted by
authorities in May 2017, said the source who requested
anonymity for fear of reprisal by Chinese authorities.
Police from the county's No. 3 police station broke into
Hasiyet's home and put a black hood over her head, refusing
her request to put on other clothes and gather her medicine
before they took her away, according to the person with
knowledge of the situation.
A Manas county court official confirmed that Hasiyet Ehmet
had been sentenced to 14 years.
"It was because of teaching kids the Quran and hiding two
copies of Quran when authorities were confiscating them, and
later getting caught," the official said. "These were the
reasons for her sentences."
Nine years before her arrest, Hasiyet's husband was
convicted of "separatism" charges and sentenced to life in
prison in 2009, the source said.
Hasiyet had stopped teaching children two years before her
arrest because of health problems. She also refrained from
attending public events, said the source.
Chinese authorities have targeted and arrested numerous
Uyghur businessmen, intellectuals, and cultural and
religious figures in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region
for years as part of a campaign to monitor, control, and
assimilate members of the minority group purportedly to
prevent religious extremism and terrorist activities.
Many of them have been among the 1.8 million Uyghurs and
other Turkic minorities believed to be held in a network of
detention camps in Xinjiang since 2017. Beijing has said
that the camps are vocational training centers and has
denied widespread and documented allegations that it has
mistreated Muslims living in Xinjiang.
