What's wrong with Masjid Nur in Ebenezer road [White Marsh, MD]
New Trend has often told the officials of this masjid that
New Trend is based on Qur'an and hadith. Non-Muslims are so
tolerant that they have allowed Muslims to set up this
fancy mosque in non-Muslim area. Why are the Muslims so
intolerant that they won't allow distribution of Islamic
New Trend?
On January 10, 2020, New Trend was again stopped after it
had reached only 22 Muslims.
Many Muslims come here because there is no masjid here other
than this for miles.
During the years when Assad , the tyrant of Syria,
slaughtered thousands of Muslims, the Syrian imam of this
masjid behaved as if nothing is happening in Syria.
Protests led to attempts to stop New Trend. The bosses also
ridiculed Sami al-Arian when he was arrested.
Readers should investigate this masjid. This masjid has
collected millions of dollars but they are still behaving
like dictators.
Has it become a clique's stronghold to cut off US Muslims
from the worldwide Ummah?
It's a poor excuse by the bosses to say that New Trend is
political.
Islam is political. Issues cannot be removed from Islam.
In China, a shocking new exposé has revealed that Chinese
authorities are systematically forcing Muslims —
mostly Uyghurs and Kazakhs — into labor programs to
supply Chinese factories with a cheap and compliant
workforce. The New York Times investigation, based on
official documents, interviews and visits to the far-western
region of Xinjiang, reveals a sweeping program to push poor
farmers, villagers and small traders into sometimes
months-long training courses before assigning them to
low-wage factory work. The programs work in tandem with
indoctrination camps where an estimated 1 million adults
from the Uyghur community are being imprisoned. China claims
its labor programs are "vocational training centers"
designed to combat extremism and alleviate poverty, while
Uyghur activists say they are part of China's ongoing
campaign to strip them of their language and community and
to carry out cultural genocide.
Abdullah Abu Rahma has been arrested by Israeli soldiers
eight times in the last 15 years, spending weeks or months
in prison and paying tens of thousands of dollars in fines
for organizing protests.
He's among a growing number of Palestinians who have
embraced non-violent means of protesting Israel's military
rule and expanding settlements, and who are increasingly
finding those avenues of dissent blocked.
Israel says the Palestinians should address their grievances
in peace talks. But negotiations ground to a halt more than
a decade ago, and the current government's position on core
issues is rejected by the Palestinians and most of the
international community.
More than 50 years after occupying the West Bank, Israel is
still systematically denying Palestinians civil rights,
including the right to gather, Human Rights Watch said in a
report released last month. Israel has also stepped up its
campaign against the Palestinian-led international boycott
movement, and the United States and other countries have
adopted legislation to suppress it.
Israel has also come down hard on Palestinian attempts to
seek redress at the International Criminal Court. Last
month, after a five-year preliminary investigation, the
court said it was ready to open a full investigation pending
a ruling on territorial jurisdiction. Israeli Prime Minister
Benjamin Netanyahu called the court's decision "pure
anti-Semitism."
Omar Shakir, the Israel and Palestine director for Human
Rights Watch, said Israel has "all but declared Palestinian
opposition to the systematic discrimination they face
illegitimate." Shakir himself was deported from Israel in
November over his alleged support for the boycott
movement.
If it succeeds in banning forms of peaceful advocacy, he
says, Israel will have "effectively left Palestinians no
choice but submission to a regime of systematic repression,
or violence."

Does Islam Allow Muslim men to Marry non-Muslim women?
Q. I have been told that Muslim women are not allowed to
marry non-Muslim men but Muslim men are permitted to marry
non-Muslim women. What does Islam say?
Answer by Kaukab Siddique: Islam teaches that marriage is
half the faith. Marriage is one of the most powerful means
for the spread of Islam. It turns hostile communities into
friends. The Qur'an used it to break up the well-established
system of slavery in pre-Islamic Arabia and then in the rest
of the Islamic commonwealth.
Islam does not permit a Muslim, male or female, to marry a
non-Muslim, especially in countries like the U.S., China and
India where Muslims are minorities.
In a fully developed Islamic state, where Islam is dominant,
Muslim men are sometimes allowed to marry non-Muslim women
who are chaste and follow the original teachings of Moses
and Jesus, pbut.
In America, people coming in from Arab countries have
propagated the view that Muslim men are allowed to marry
non-Muslim women. Not only is this an incorrect view it has
seriously damaged the Islamic cause in America. This country
has become more pagan than Christian and a non-Muslim woman
who comes into a Muslim home is backed by the entire power
of the secular State system and the children of such a
marriage are educated by a secular education system. Other
than in very exceptional cases, such a marriage is very
damaging.
Tens of thousands of American and African-American women
have embraced Islam during the last two decades. These men
who are marrying non-Muslim women are denying marriage to
those women who have embraced Islam. Racism and nationalism
are often involved in the Muslim male's decision to marry
non-Muslim [usually White] women.
Why have U.S. Muslims been so misled? It has to do with
inability to study the Qur'an in CONTEXT and the desire to
study the Qur'an WITHOUT the help of the Hadith of the
Prophet, pbuh. If we were to know HOW to study Islam, such
questions would not arise.
The Qur'an makes it very clear that marriage is to be based
only on FAITH in ALLAH and that one of its purposes is to
UNDERMINE SLAVERY. Marriage based on CLASS STRUCTURE and
NATIONALISM is a clear violation of Islam. Here is what the
Qur'an says:
"Do not marry women who associate others with Allah
[mushrikat] until they believe. A slave woman who believes
is better than one who associates others with Allah
[mushrika] even though she allure you. Nor marry men who
associate others with Allah [mushrikeen] until they believe:
A male slave who believes is better than one who associates
others with Allah [mushrik] even though he allure you. They
[associaters] beckon you to the Fire but Allah beckons by
His Grace to the Garden [of Bliss] and forgiveness, and
makes His Signs clear to mankind that they may receive
admonition." [2:221]
Notice that I have written the Arabic word in brackets. It
is often incorrectly translated as "disbelievers" and
"idolaters" although mushrik is one who associates others
with Allah.
All interpretations must end when there is a clear Hadith of
the Prophet, pbuh, on the issue. He never recommended
marriage with non-Muslim women. Addressing men, he makes it
quite clear that Islamic integrity and faith is the
requirement for marriage:
"The messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be on
him, said: Women are married for 4 reasons: for wealth, for
family nobility, for beauty and for Deen: You should marry
for Deen, otherwise may your hands be rubbed in the dirt."
[Narrated by Abu Huraira, r.a., in the Sahih of Bukhari and
the Sahih of Muslim.]
Deen is a comprehensive term for piety, knowledge and
practise of Islam, and Fear of Allah.
Our Arab brothers try to take advantage of a permission
granted in chapter 5 of the Qur'an to marry women from the
People of the Book: These brothers [conveniently?] ignore
the fact that the verse they are using was revealed after
the victory of Islam when Islam had become the dominant
force in Madinah:
" ... [lawful unto you in marriage] are not only chaste
women who are believers but chaste women among the People of
the Book revealed before your time ...." [5:5]

Pakistan
Quetta Attack Report in daily Dawn Incorrect or Misleading.
January 10. Pakistan military claimed that
a bomb attack was carried out in a mosque in
Quetta in which 15 people were killed and others
injured. Also it was claimed that no one has taken credit
for the attack.
However Khama news and other sources have indicated that the
attack was not on a mosque but on an adjacent building where
Pakistani intelligence officers and local Taliban leaders
were meeting in secret.
The attack, these reports say killed the 3 Pakistani ISI
officers and 4 Taliban
leaders from the Quetta area. A senior Taliban judge was
seriously injured.
Pakistan has admitted that a senior police officer was
killed.
Photos of the building after the attack show Pakistani
soldies with their boots on which would not be possible for
Muslims in a mosque.
Also, the attack has been claimed by the Islamic State [IS],
which Pakistan claims does not exist in Pakistan, and has
been monitored by the US .

After the US assassinated Qassim Solemanie, massive rallies
were held in Iran. It was an impressive display of unity.
The masses and the regime called for retaliation and revenge
. Again very impressive.
The first weakness came out at burial day in Kerman when 50
people died in a stampede. People had become so hyped up,
the 50 dead did not slow them
The calls for revenge had become so loud that the regime
obliged and fired 16, some say 14, huge ballistic missiles
at US bases, al Fahd west of Baghdad and Erbil northeast of
Iraq. . Nothing was hit. Not even ONE US soldier was killed
or injured.
Then came the news that a Ukrainian air liner had crashed at
Tehran airport. All 176 people abroad were ,killed.
For three days, the regime lied flat out about the crash. In
the meantime international intelligence agencies pieced
together evidence that it had been shot down probably by
mistake probably by Iran.
Finally Iran admitted that it was its "inadvertent"
error.
It is such a shame that a great nation has been put to
shame.
Students at Amir Kabir university and other places are
demanding that Khamenei step down.

soft and incompetent owing to its role in Syria and Iraq.

heading from Manbig [north central Syria] to Ain Issa, near
to pro Turkish groups.
Pro-Turkish Syrians exchanged fire with SDF [Kurds supported
by USA] near Tal Tamr, for two hours. Turkish drones
targeted SDF military offices injuring SDF troops.
50 more trucks carrying US ammo and supplies for SDF entered
Haaskeh province, Some carried tanks and armored
vehicles.
In Al-Kubar village civilians clashed with SDF. One civilian
killed 4 injured. One SDF injured., IS raids are continuing.
January 8-12. In Deraa province citizens are coming out
openly against Assad. After regime arrested one dissident,
crowds went to an Assad check point and made 20 regime
tropps hostage,
Russian air force has not been able to bomb owing to bad
weather and heavy rain.
Opposition has been opening machine gun fire on regime
population in western Aleppo.

Meeting James Yee, Former Muslim
Chaplain of Guantanamo Bay Prison.

Tonight I attended a function billed as "Until Justice, We
Resist." The event was held in the First Trinity Lutheran
Church, an imposing structure just four blocks from the U.S.
Capitol. Featured were spoken word artists, folk singers,
comedians, and others. The event's aim was to build support
for a national rally at the White House the following day,
calling for the closure of Guantanamo Bay U.S. Prison.
At the church event, I met James Yee, former prison chaplain
at Guantanamo Bay. In the early days of the "War on Terror,"
he had counselled Muslim detainees held at Gitmo, and had
earned the rank of U.S. Army captain. However, upon leaving
Guantanamo, Yee was charged with sedition, espionage, and
other bogus charges. He was held incommunicado on a U.S.
Navy brig in Charleston, SC, for over seven months. This was
the same brig on which Jose Padilla and other Muslim
political prisoners were held.
All charges against Yee were later dropped. He left the
military with an honorable discharge, and went on to write a
book called "For God and Country," detailing his experiences
as chaplain. He told me he planned to attend the "Close
Guantanamo" rally the next day (January 11), and I applauded
his fortitude.
Many of the Guantanamo detainees were Muslim men in the
prime of their youth when they were detained. Some were only
boys. I could only imagine what it must have been like for
Yee to counsel these innocents who'd endured waterboarding,
electric shocks to their genitals, sleep deprivation, and
other horrific tortures meted out at the island prison.
The January 11 rally, sponsored by Witness Against Torture,
Code Pink, Justice for Muslims Collective, the Center for
Constitutional Rights, and a host of other groups, would
mark the 18th anniversary of the opening of Guantanamo. I
and other attendees at the church event remarked on how the
torture center had persisted through the administrations of
both Democratic and Republican presidents, with scant
opposition from either. Also edifying was the Muslim role in
organizing the rally, with the Justice for Muslims
Collective taking a prominent role. And, while White
leftists and progressives were still amongst the most vocal
in defending the Muslim detainees and calling for the
closure of Gitmo, there was a slow trickle of Muslim
organizational endorsement.

Appeal to Protest Against India's Draconian Citizenship Law
Dear Brother/Sister in Islam,
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
As you may know, the situation in India with respect to
human rights and religious freedom is worsening by the day.
The recent passing of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA)
and the government's intention to implement a National
Register of Citizens (NRC) are literally shaking the
foundations of India's existence as a pluralistic,
multi-faith society where all citizens are supposed to be
equal before the law.
Now is the time for all Indians and people of conscience to
stand up against this draconian law, and to express
solidarity with those who are protesting in India even in
the face of brutal suppression. Due to our presence here in
the United States, our efforts have the potential to gain
international attention and thus create a meaningful impact.
To this end, several diaspora groups across the US are
calling for a national day of action on Sunday, January 26,
2020. The intent is to have peaceful protests and press

Register of Citizens (NRC) lays the legal foundation to
denaturalize millions, reminiscent of Nazi Germany's

impoverished and marginalized citizens who may fail to

the same day that India's constitution came into force
declaring India as a sovereign, secular, democratic

now severely at risk, January 26 is the right time to
resolve to defend the Constitution and to reclaim its goals.
It is very important that protests are held in as many
cities as possible. If there are 100 protests and even if
each has an average of only 50 people the media will be
compelled to cover it.
