A Major Sin many Muslims are committing against Women.
"From Buraida, r.a., 'a young woman came to the Prophet,
pbuh, and said that her father had married her to his nephew
so that the nephew's low social condition may improve. The
Prophet, pbuh, gave her the choice to do with her marriage
as she wished. She then said, she accepted the marriage
initiated by her father. She said that she intended women to
know that their fathers do not have authority on them in
marriage."
[Hadith in the Sunan of Ibn Majah, abwabun nikah.]
Comment by Kaukab Siddique: A similar hadith is narrated by
Ibn Abbas. Many people in Muslim countries, particularly
Pakistan, carry out these arranged marriages of their
daughters. One particular reason, as referred to in this
hadith, is to keep their economic wealth within their family
and to deny the daughter her economic independence. These
arranged marriages, particularly to cousins, are among the
reasons for the frustration of young women and often their
resentment and misery. When will Muslims start following the
teachings of the Prophet, pbuh?

Asma bint Abu Bakr(r.a.)
A Role Model for Women.
By: ABU TARIQ HIJAZI
[With thanks to Sis. Yasmin]
From Bilal to Sumayya, the history of Islam is replete with
sacrifices rendered by the companions of the Prophet (may
Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).
Asma bint Abu Bakr has a special position among the early
Muslims. Her sacrifices for Islam are numerous.
Asma was the daughter of Abu Bakr and sister of Ummul
Momineen Ayesha (may Allah be pleased with them).
She was the mother of Caliph Abdullah bin Zubair. Her four
generations were companions.
She was the 18th person to enter into the fold of Islam.
Asma supported Islam from her early age. She played a key
role in the migration of the Prophet
(pbuh). Asma was entrusted to carry food for Abu Bakr and
the Prophet (peace be upon him) who were hiding in Cave
Thawr. The cave was about three miles away on a mountainous
track. She carried food daily for three days, though she was
pregnant of seven months.
The last day when Asma prepared their travel provisions and
water skin there was no rope to tie them. She tore her Nitaq
(waist belt) into two pieces and tied the bag with one.
The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him)
saw it, he smiled and told her, "Indeed, Allah has given
you, in exchange for this girdle, two belts in Paradise."
And thus she was named as "Zu Nataqain"
(Lady of Two Belts).
She kept this honorable title for her whole life. After the
two left Thawr cave, Abu Jahl came in searching for them and
slapped Asma so hard that blood oozed from her ears. Bearing
the pain with courage and tolerance, she did not disclose
the secret.
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) reached Quba near
Madinah, he invited a group that included his daughters and
Asma (RA) accompanied them. When they reached near Quba, she
gave birth to a boy named Abdullah bin Zubair.
The Prophet (pbuh) was very happy. He took the baby in his
lap and gave a bit of date chewed by him in the mouth of the
baby.
Abdullah was the first baby born to Muhajirin in Madinah.
Zubair ibn Al-Awwam, her husband, migrated to Madinah empty
handed leaving everything in Makkah.
Asma spent a hard time in the beginning. The daughter of a
rich man found herself tending animals, kneading, grinding
and fetching water. She used to carry on her head
date-stones from their land at a distance of two miles from
Madinah.
The real test of Asma's tolerance and patience appeared
after the martyrdom of Hussein ibn Ali (May Allah be pleased
with him) at Karbala. She was then about 90 years of
age.
After the tragedy of Karbala, people gathered around her
son, Abdullah bin Zubair knowing him as a learned, powerful
and brave man. He succeeded in winning the support of Makkah
and Madinah. Eventually, Abdullah consolidated his power in
Iraq, Hijaz, southern Arabia, the greater part of Syria and
parts of Egypt.
Asma advised her son before the fight against the Damascus
ruler Abdul Malik bin Marwan saying she will be grieving for
him only if he is killed in a vain and unjust cause.
"Death with honor is better than a life of peace with
dishonor."
Abdullah went forward to fight against Marwan's commander
Hajaj bin Yusuf and kept fighting until he was martyred.
The cruel Hajaj beheaded him and hanged his body on a tree.
He declared, "No one should take down his body except Asma.
She must come to me and ask my permission. Asma refused to
go. Eventually Hajaj came to her and asked, "What do you say
about this matter?" She boldly replied, "Verily, you have
destroyed him and you have ruined his life, and with that
you have ruined your Hereafter."
She added that she had heard the Holy Prophet (peace be upon
him) saying that "A man would appear from the tribe of Banu
Thaqif who would be a liar and a cruel and ignoble
barbarian. Today she has seen him for herself."
Hajaj bin Yusuf left silently.
Later Hajaj dropped the body into the graveyard. She
arranged for its bathing, funeral prayer and buried with her
hands her son Abdullah bin Zubair in Makkah.
Asma died a few days after burying her son, in 73AH.
She was 100 years old but never lost her memory and had a
full set of teeth. She took part in the Battle of Yarmuk in
636 AC and fought bravely which drove the Roman Empire out
of Syria. She is the narrator of 58 Hadith, and many leading
men related Hadith from her.
In a corner of Jannatul Muala a small grave indicates toward
this great lady. Asma bint Abu Bakr (RA) was really a great
role model for the Muslim women. While proceeding to Jabal
Thawr you will find a sign on the road named Zu Nataqain
Street.
And this is the path which was trodden by this great lady to
carry the provisions to Holy Prophet (pbuh) to Thawr
Cave.
Just wait for a moment in this place and pray for these
noble souls.
May Almighty Allah grant them the highest ranks in
Paradise.

On what basis is Shimon Peres being Honored by American
Politicians & Arab Leaders?
We urge Muslims not to vote for anyone who supports
Israel.
Since the establishment of the occupation state, Peres is
responsible and directly involved in the brutal genocide
against the Palestinian people.
Gaza has been attacked three times by Israel leading to
the death of thousands of civilians including more than 1000
children.
Even in the West Bank, Israel is steadily building new
settlements and adding to existing ones in defiance of
international law.
Palestine is living under a new system of Apartheid
according to President Carter.
Third holiest mosque of Islam al-Aqsa is under Israeli
occupation and being repeatedly desecrated.
The entire Middle East and many parts of Africa are
victims of Israeli intrigue and constant surveillance.
In these circumstances, President Obama's visit to honor
Shimon Peres, a war criminal and occupier of Palestine
indicates that Palestine is being totally ignored by the
American power structure.
This shameful support for Israel comes on top of the $38
billion military package newly offered to Israel by
President Obama.
We urge American Muslims to oppose the American power
structure and boycott all businesses which support Israel
directly or indirectly.
Do not vote for anyone who supports Israel.
SPOTLIGHTS from Br. Badi
Arab Leaders: Confused, Misled, Sold Out. They do Not
Represent the Ummah including Palestine.
All of a sudden, after the US Congress called for Saudi role
in 9.11., the scholars are talking about a "Disbeliever
America." They start criticizing America, call for
boycotting of their products and issuing fatwas only when
America confronts their own Kings, Presidents and
rulers.
Recently at the al-Arabiya TV station, which is owned by the
members of the royal Saudi family, we see hosts of the news
and different programs wearing only dark and black clothing
to mourn the death of Shimon Peres - the evil who is
responsible for genocide in Palestine.
Those who attend the funeral of Shimon Peres, they do not
represent the Ummah. They do not represent the Arabs of
Muslims - especially the Palestinians.
Ten Arab and Muslim countries participated in Shimon Peres'
funeral and I assure you they offered their condolences to
the Zionist leaders in secret.
What is happening in Syria between the various groups and
movements from accusations of Kufur to the killings and
slaughter - nothing new, especially in that country. This is
worthy of research and analysis by independent experts, not
by immature, biased students or those who are working for
"this country/government," or "that country/government," in
order to benefit the Ummah and find a resolution to this
disaster.
Muslim Kings and rulers, their so-called scholars, the
filthy rich and ignorant masses as well as the lazy,
unmotivated few who know the truth and fail to act on it,
are the responsible ones for our defeat in the Muslim
world.
Nowadays during the Fitnah, I do not think that the enemies
need to spend or think much. We are doing the work for them.
We are slaughtering one another, destroying our own
countries and giving our nation a bad name.
In the Muslim world, we do not have "think-tanks" to benefit
the Ummah. The rulers have established "trash-tanks" in
which they justify their mischief and defeat while planning
for more concessions in order for them to live happily ever
after.
In the last few months of Obama's Presidency, he did work
for the Zionist occupation state more than what he did for
the American people since the beginning of his Presidency.
But it is not just the American Presidents who put Israel
first, it is also the Arab leaders and Kings who put America
and Israel first.

VIEWPOINT
From India to (Standing Rock) Indian Reservation
By Nadrat Siddique
Special to the New Trend
September 18, 2016
Standing Rock, ND
I was in Bismarck, ND, to run the marathon, a 26.2 mile
race, in protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline and to call
attention to the violation of Native American rights and the
violation of sacred Native American lands. Bismarck is an
odd city. Although several Native American
reservations—Standing Rock, Cheyenne River, Rosebud,
and Pine Ridge--are close by, Bismarck remains 90% White.
Evidently there is a large German population here. The
military and oil companies are large employers here, but
people are either apolitical or practiced in political
correctness. That Saturday, I ran the marathon from Bismarck
to the neighboring city of Mandan wearing a tee-shirt
bearing the words "No DAPL!" and "Respect Indigenous
Rights," drawing barely a comment. A (Hindistani) Indian
man; a Native American Indian with his long hair in a braid;
a Kenyan man; and a half dozen U.S.-born Blacks (seemingly
military types) were the only non-Whites I observed in the
race. Afterwards, the Kenyan, a visitor from Pennsylvania,
who finished a minute ahead of me, congratulated me on the
race and told me he "supported my cause."
I hail from the Indo-Pak subcontinent, the daughter of a
Punjabi Indian Muslim father who migrated to Pakistan during
Partition and a Sindhi Pakistani Muslim woman. In our part
of the world, we are accustomed to road blocks, curfews, and
military police. I did not expect to see this in the
sparsely populated American state of North Dakota.
A narrow, mostly deserted, two-lane, two way road called
Highway 1806 is the main road from Bismarck to the Standing
Rock Indian Reservation. Driving along it, the day after the
marathon, I was suddenly stopped by a U.S. Army National
Guard roadblock. Six soldiers in camouflage fatigues, manned
the checkpoint. Two of them approached my car. I turned down
the rock-and-roll music I had blaring in the rented Chevy,
and cautiously rolled down the window, making sure to keep
my hands on the steering wheel. I was in clearly Pakistani
attire, which seemed to reassure the soldiers that I was not
one of the "bad guys" (at least not per the stereotypes
prevalent in this part of the country). "There's a protest
going on up the road," they told me. "There may be people
walking in the road. We just want to warn you, so you don't
run into it."
A concrete culvert blocked half the road at the checkpoint,
as if the soldiers expected someone to ram the checkpoint.
(Later I learned that the South Dakota National Guard had
blocked the entire road for over a week when the Water
Protectors first took action against the oil company, and
reopened it only in response to protests from Native people
and their allies, as well as local farmers and businessmen,
that the roadblock was being used to profile Native
Americans and was hindering commerce.) The daughter of a
well-known and prolific Pakistani dissident and writer, I
had been to hundreds of protests in this hemisphere in my
lifetime. I thought it very odd that military police were
stopping motorists to warm them about a peaceful protest.
The Native people at Sacred Stone Camp, where I was headed,
had announced they were unarmed; that their camp permitted
no drugs, alcohol, or guns; and that they were there in the
role of Water Protectors, protecting Lake Oahe and other
parts of the Missouri River threatened by the oil pipeline
being laid by Energy Transfer Partners as part of a $4
billion (?) dollar project.
The soldiers allowed me to pass and I drove away slowly,
still a bit stunned and pondering unobtrusive ways of
photographing the checkpoint. I continued on for miles, past
buttes, craggy overlooks, and fallen boulders. Once or
twice, I turned onto side streets, which I thought might
lead to the Sacred Stone Camp—the Native American Camp
I was seeking—only to realize I'd made a wrong turn
and returned to the main road. There was no sign of any
Native American encampment, and I had neither GPS
coordinates nor an "address" for the camp.
Suddenly, I spotted a large herd of bison on the side of the
road. I slowed and got out of the car, mesmerized by the
majestic animals. I approached a group of them, which
included mothers with their calves. The bison barely batted
an eye. For a moment, I was befuddled, recalling the
warnings I'd read on approaching bison too closely,
particularly those with offspring who were prone to charge
intruders. Then I realized they were inside a fence, docile,
farm-raised cousins of the original free roaming bison
intrinsically linked with Lakota and Dakota culture.
Sacred Grounds (Frontline) Camp
Domesticated or not, the bison seemed a harbinger of the
camp, because no sooner had I passed them, then I came upon
a small camp of Water Protectors. It was a humble, makeshift
camp, marked by an upside down American
flag—frequently used by Native people to signal that
they are under attack by the U.S. government and
multinational corporations—two Native American flags,
and a teepee. Signs at the camp entrance read "We are still
here" and "Red Nations Rising." On one side of the camp and
clearly visible from the road, the colorful Palestinian flag
left by a solidarity delegation to the camp, fluttered
merrily. Numerous tents housing the Water Protectors dotted
both sides of the road. In the center of the camp was a
makeshift courtyard with wooden furniture, where visitors
were received.
Just feet away, on the other side of the road and behind
barbed wire, was one of the sites where the oil company had
desecrated Native American ancestral burial grounds. The
furroughs from the bulldozers were evident. Sacred Grounds
Camp rules said not to photograph the area, as if it were a
scene of death—death of the sacred.
After that, the Sacred Grounds Camp was established directly
across from the site of desecration. It is considered to be
the front line of the defense organized by the Water
Protectors.
I was met at the front of the camp by a group of Native
youth. I introduced myself, and said I'd come to them from
the Washington, DC area to extend the solidarity of my
people, the Pakistani people to the Native People in their
struggle to protect the water. I told them my people were
also under attack by the U.S. government and its proxies, in
the form of drone strikes, and in some areas, neo-colonial
occupation. They were very polite and welcoming, offering me
food and drink although they were not expecting me. Most of
them had attended college. Some had not, but were very
knowledgeable about world events. All seemed committed to
stay through the winter (and beyond if need be) to protect
the water.
After we chatted a while, I told them I would be leaving
shortly to go to the main camp which was nearby. In the
tradition of native hospitality, they insisted I return by
sunset to have dinner with them. Before I left, one of the
youth helped mount my sign, "Pakistanis for Standing Rock,"
in a prominent location at the front of the camp.
Shia Forces reach Aleppo under Russian air cover: Heavy
Fighting Reported at Aleppo
FSA with Turkish Air Cover only 3 km from ISIS town of
Dabiq. Fighting Continues all over Syria.
[From the Independent, SOHR and BBC]
By October 2, Aleppo is is in a condition of collapse in its
Muslim sectors. Heavy Russian bombing continues around the
clock. Water remains disrupted. Hospitals are being
systematically wiped out. UN estimates more than 400
civilians have been killed in one week including more than
100 children.
Shiite forces led by Iranians finally broke through Handarat
and reached Aleppo proper. FSA Islamic fighters are putting
up a stiff resistance in spite of bad conditions as they are
hit by heavy artillery. Al-Nusra is blocking the Shiite
advance from the South.
To the east a pro-Turkish FSA force supported by Turkish and
USA air cover is advancing on Dabiq, a town very important
in the ISIS publicity program.
Bombing and shelling continues around Damascus as the regime
tries to push out FSA and civilian fighters.
The FSA advance on Hama is stalled owing to daily air
strikes by the Russians. A senior officer who defected from
Assad's forces and joined FSA was killed in an air
strike.
ISIS advance against Assad continues in eastern Qalamoun,
near Damascus but it is very slow.
ISIS has reportedly punished two of its governors for
"misgovernance" [physically thrashing them]
Al Raqqa was bombed again by the Americans but regime
advances on the HOMS front have stopped.
Served 29 Years in Army and reserves: Double Murder and
Suicide.
Horrific news from Bel Air, Maryland . Does the army do this
to you or is this the price of becoming part of the power
structure? A man named Nasir Siddique served in the army and
reserves for 29 years, was decorated, reached high rank
(lt.col), and after retirement in 2010 was appointed by the
Governor of Maryland to supervise military monuments and
related activities. There were no reports of domestic
violence and the family lived in a beautiful split level
home.
On September 28, Nasir murdered his wife zarqa in the
bathroom , then drove all the way to College Park and
murdered his 19 year old college student son Farhad on his
20th birthday and then killed himself. The son is being
mourned by Muslim students. (Entire info is from police
sources in local media.)
Figs (Injeer) in Holy Quran and Ahadith
A Great Natural Support for Health
[With thanks to Sis. Yasmin]
Figs (Injeer) in Holy Quran:
"By the Fig and the Olive. By mount Sinai. By this city of
security (Makkah).Verily,We created man in the best
stature(mould)." {Quran,Surat At-Tin 95,Verse 1-4 }
Figs (Injeer) in Ahadith:
Abu Darda (Radiallaho Anhu) narrates that Prophet
(Sallallaho 'Alaihi Wa'Sallam) said: "Eat Fig, for it cures
the Piles and is useful for Rheumatism".
Abu Darda (Radiallaho Anhu) narrates that someone presented
the Prophet a plate of figs and he said, "Eat figs! If I
would say a certain type of fruit was sent down to us from
the heavens I would say it's a Fig because it has no seeds.
It ends (cures) the piles and is useful for rheumatism."
The Prophet (Sallallaho 'Alaihi Wa'Sallam) mentioned Figs
and then stated,
"If I had to mention a fruit that descended from Paradise I
would say this is it, because the paradisiacal fruits do not
have pits... eat from these fruits for they prevent
hemorrhoids, piles and gout" (S.Bukhari).
