Humanitarian Project for African Children
Jamaat al-Muslimeen Calls for Urgent help for Families in
Africa, particularly Ethiopia.
Dear Readers:
Briefly, we are inviting you to assist us with "Feeding the
Needy in Ethiopia," in this our 3rd year effort. We have
travelled to Addis Ababa and a town called Dessie to
initiate this program two years in a row. The equivalent of
$3 to feed a meal to a family of 5 is a good estimate. We
do not give less than 17 birrs ($1 US) in an envelope to an
individual. Far too many children are hungry on the streets
and many of them are homeless.
Make your donation payable to Jamaat al Muslimeen (note:
for Ethiopia) and mail to
P.O. Box 10881, Baltimore, MD 21234.
Extend this invitation to others. Thank you in advance and
may Allah (Almighty God) reward you.
Sincerely,
Ashira Na'm, Secretary General - Jamaat al Muslimeen
Latest Khutba
Youth Rallies Awakening Our Conscience: Police Brutality is
Moral Bankruptcy of US Power Structure.
Evils of Racism, Zionism and Exploitation of Women: Why
Christianity has Failed.
On December 5, Br. Kaukab Siddique gave the juma' khutba at
Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen in central Baltimore. Here is a
summary of the main points for distribution to communities
across America.
-
Text:
-
"Among mankind are such as say 'we believe in Allah'
but when they suffer affliction in the Cause of Allah, they
treat oppression by people as it were the wrath of Allah!
And if help comes from your Lord, they are sure to say 'we
have always been with you.' Does not Allah know best all
that is in the hearts of all creation." [The Qur'an
29:10]
-
Text #2:
-
When the angel came to ask the Prophet, pbuh, if
the mountains should be toppled over the people [of Taif]
who were oppressing him, he said: "No! I am hopeful that
from among them will arise such people as will worship Allah
who is ONE and has no partners." [ Sahih Bukhari, vol.1,
kitab bud al-khalaq and Sahih Muslim vol 2, kitab al-jihad
wal seer.]:
-
Across America, masses of young people are protesting the
brutal behavior of the police against poor, unarmed and
disenfranchised Black people. We as Muslims hail and honor
the efforts of these youths,
-
The spirit of goodness is alive in these youths. Their
situation is difficult and the power structure of America
wants to defeat them through large formations of police, an
unjust legal system and very crafty and vicious media.
-
America is suffering from the root cause of racism which
is embedded in its history of slavery and subjugation.
-
Racism is a historic cause but it has morphed in our
times into the evil of Zionism. Every aspect of America's
power structure is controlled by International Jewry and the
supporters of Israel.
-
It came as no surprise that America's specialized police
units were trained by Israeli security forces to break and
humiliate the people of America. Unfortunately most African
Americans have no idea what is Zionism and how evil it
is.
-
Look at how they humiliate the people, making them lie
face down on the street and handcuffing them at the
slightest affront. Refusal to be handcuffed is called
"resisting arrest.." When convicted, the prisoners are
stripped and cavity searched. It's a form of rape.
-
These Grand Juries are a joke. They refuse to indict even
the most blatant and open police murders. Compare this with
what the government does to Muslims, where even "thought
crimes" lead to HUGE sentences.
-
The media, controlled directly by Jews or indirectly by
Zionists, carry out a charade of "analysis" which almost
always leads to trivialization of the victim. The victims of
the police are usually poor and uneducated. So, the police
looks into their private lives and comes up with their wrong
doings to exonerate the police.
-
Pressure is also applied through the families of the
victims. The parents of the victims are brought on TV to
urge people not to be angry. Usually Dr. Martin Luther King
is invoked to calm them down.
-
Allama Iqbal long ago ridiculed the process by which the
huge weaponry of the government is ignored but the
defenseless people are urged to be peaceful and
restrained!
-
The people have nothing in their religion, Christianity,
to rebut the attacks of the media and government
propagandists.
-
The Jews who called for the crucifixion of Jesus, pbuh,
are so crafty, they claim to be friends of the Christians
and have coined the term Judeo-Christian which negates all
of history.
-
In Christianity, there is no Shariah or Law which would
help the oppressed people to call for justice based on the
Law of God.
-
There is no Sunnah too in Christianity. So the young
people have no role model. They are not taught how to face
the power of authority and the tyrannical State.
-
Jesus, pbuh, was given many miracles but they were
unable to spiritualize the Jews. Miracles were for his time.
Today they have no relevance. So the people are left
without guidance and without role models.
-
The Jews do not believe in Jesus, pbuh. The Christians
do not follow Moses, pbuh, and the problem is further
aggravated by the fact that no one knows who wrote the books
of the Jews and when were they written.
-
None of them believe in Muhammad, pbuh. Thus the only
religion which endorses Moses, Jesus and Muhammad, peace be
on them, is Islam.
-
This is the time for Muslims to stand up in support of
the oppressed people of America, be they in Ferguson or New
York or any of the scores of other cities where young people
are marching against police brutality.
-
As if racism and Zionism were not enough to hurt the
very soul and conscience of America, we have the mortal sin
of the exploitation and denigration of women. Half of
humanity has been turned into objects of entertainment and
commerce. Look at the men on the media over dressed in their
three piece suits and the women half naked. As a philosopher
said, you can see the mindset of the men in the way women
dress: Shorter and shorter skirts till they are like
underwear and the breasts plunging out.
-
These were the clothes slave women were forced to wear.
Hadith shows that in the Age of Ignorance [jahiliyya\ that's
how women used to dress.
-
Then you have men battering women: 4,000,000 women
battered every year. and then you have rape. A man who was
respected as the daddy of America, looking so good on TV, is
charged with rape by 13 women.
-
The Qur'an is the only book which has a whole chapter
named after Maryam [Mary], the mother of Jesus. Many
chapters of the Qur'an honor Mary. So respect, honor and
compassion for women is rooted in the heart of Islam.
-
The Prophet's, pbuh, hadith says: Paradise is at the
feet of your mother. The Prophet, pbuh, said, the Best among
you is the one who is BEST to HIS WIFE. He ended the
violation of female captives and gave property and
leadership rights to women. There is no woman greater than
Ayesha, r.a., in any religion in scholarship, leadership and
jurisprudence.
Dear Muslims, the children of this great nation are crying
out for help. Open the Qur'an, study the Sunnah and go forth
with the message of STRUGGLE and Truth and JUSTICE which is
the essence of Islam.
Spotlights and Guidance
An Invitation to Think From Imam Badi Ali
How the Oppressors think of us: Understanding the double
talk.
-
They are killing us and they tell the world that we
deserve to die.
-
They are killing us and then they appoint a committee to
investigate our "crimes."
-
When they shoot my dad, they want me to join them to kill
the rest of the "terrorists" in my family.
-
They shoot our children and they get a promotion.
-
There is an evil culture behind "shoot to kill" but it
does not stop there. It is "shoot to kill" and then
broadcast the story to sell it.
-
Slavery is racism and racism is slavery.
-
Slavery is not just an ideology. It is a culture with its
institutions to justify the enslavement of the poor and the
weak with different names, and business outlets.
-
In America, it is "hands up, don't shoot," in Palestine
it is "we are unarmed, don't bomb." They are no threat to
you, please don't kill all Muslims.
-
In the past it was slavery. Now we are forced to buy from
the slavers businesses globally, rent and live in their
apartments, and become part of their system.
-
They talk about peace and justice. I don't think they
know what peace is and what justice is.

Message for our Future Generations
by Shamim Siddiqi [Long Island, New York]
Shamim Siddiqi
is known as the leader of the da'wa movement in America; he
has a large following all across America.
He is also the adviser of Jamaat al-Muslimeen
Mohtram Rufaqua [Respected friends], Salaam
On last Sunday morning after Qur'anic Session, we discussed
our concern as to how to protect our children/ youngsters
from the evil effects of "Munkar" that are spreading
around us like a jungle fire.
I thought over this serious issue. The more I though the
more I discovered that it is due to our own fault. We, the
individuals as parents couldn't do our job and put ourselves
as models before our children nor could make our houses as
models, as such children couldn't get the environment in
houses to compare the right at home with the Batil outside
in the society.
In fact, we are living/leading a life totally contrary to
command of Allah and His Prophet. I will just give one
Hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (S) and one command
of Allah (SWT) and that will present the true picture
showing as to where we have/are neglecting His guidance in
this respect and with what consequences.
-
The famous Hadith of Rasulullah (S); "kULLOKUM RA'EE WA
kULLOKUM MASOOLU LE Raeyatehi" [Each one of you is
shepherd and each of you is responsible for your people
under your protection (command);.
It makes every father and every mother as shepherd and it is
their individual responsibility to take care of the children
and be model for them and keep them upright. This needs
elaboration and fro that we need mutual discussion. I hope
ICLI will arrange it.
Muslim fathers and mothers haven't done their job well and
hence lost a generation and again they are not doing their
job well and hence are losing the generation at hand. So
blame yourself for this great loss. If parents become self
conscious NOW, this generation at hand can be saved.
-
The Qur'an is still more clear on this issue when it
commands the Muslims [ both male and female] : in Surah
Al-Tahreem Verse # 6: O ye who believe ! Ward off from
yourselves and your families a fire whereof the fuel is men
and stones, over which are set angles strong ,severe , who
resist not Allah in that which He commands them but do that
which they are commanded" .
This Verse clearly commands the believers to protect
themselves and their families from hell fire......
Now each of us must think" Are we doing our JOB, If not,
who is responsible for this neglect to lose out generations
to Batil societies of the age? Definitely "US "
So our Community leaders must think for this gross neglect
and must plan and program to get it out of this mess. If
not. they all will be accountable to or Lord for this
neglect.

China sentences Uighur scholar to life in prison
Ilham Tohti, an advocate for rights of Uighur minorities,
sentenced for 'inciting separatism' in his native
Xinjiang
September 23, 2014 6:40AM ET
by Massoud Hayoun @mhayoun Google+
A Chinese court on Tuesday sentenced Ilham Tohti, a
prominent advocate for the rights of China's Uighur
minority, to life in prison for "inciting separatism," his
lawyer said. The verdict came months after Tohti said he
would likely face harsh legal consequences for his advocacy
amid mounting ethnic tensions between Uighurs and China's
majority ethnic Han.
The court also ordered Tohti's assets confiscated, according
to his attorney Li Fangping, leaving Tohti's wife and three
children without any means of supporting themselves.
Li, a prominent human rights lawyer, said he is "very much
intent" on appealing the decision. Tohti earlier this month
pleaded not guilty to his charges.
Tohti, who had been an economics professor at Beijing's
Minzu University, penned a blog called Uighurbiz.net, which
documented what he called the socioeconomic and religious
repression of Uighurs in their native region of Xinjiang,
and in the rest of China, where many are migrant
laborers.
Tohti, a member of China's Communist Party, told Al Jazeera
he had never received any backing from international Uighur
rights organizations, one of the charges lodged by Beijing,
and that he hoped through the Chinese legal system to
improve the conditions faced by Uighurs.
"I have never committed any crime or done anything against
Chinese law," he said. "I am calling for people's rights,
rule of law, freedom of religion and against discrimination"
for Uighurs and all Chinese citizens.
Tohti likened himself to other Chinese human rights
activists attempting to preserve rule of law in the People's
Republic through what he said were purely constitutional
means - activists including Hu Jia, who spoke in support of
Tohti in March after he was charged with separatism, and
dissident artist Ai Weiwei.
Tohti appeared to foretell his incarceration in a September
interview with Al Jazeera.
"The [Chinese] government's relationship with me and
Xinjiang is similar. When they crack down on Xinjiang, they
crack down on me," Tohti said of his perennial house
arrests, adding that he may face torture and imprisonment
for his advocacy amid mounting tension with China's
predominantly Muslim Uighur minority.
"This is my destiny," he added.
Xinjiang, which abuts South and Central Asian nations
including Pakistan and oil- and energy-rich Kazakhstan, is
of great strategic and economic value to Beijing. In
September last year, China signed a slew of contracts with
neighboring nations to import oil and gas directly into the
region. Uighur rights activists have said religious
repression is one means of controlling a restive Uighur
public that Beijing sees as a threat to its commerce.
In recent months, Tohti, both in interviews and through his
website, has helped bring to light other religious
restrictions imposed in Xinjiang. Local governments have
barred women wearing traditional headscarves from entering
public venues. In one case in Aksu, local officials placed
the Chinese flag at the head of a mosque, in an apparent bid
to make worshippers bow to a symbol of the state.
Before Tohti's sentencing, his daughter, Juer Yilihamu, said
she had hoped recent calls for legal reform by high-ranking
Chinese officials - which some activists said would aim to
prevent defendants from systematically being treated as
guilty until proven innocent - would mean a fair trial for
her father.
But Fordham University Chinese law expert Charles Minzner
said that politically charged trials like Tohti's are
decided by committee, long before sentencing.
Beijing has blamed Uighur "terrorist groups" for a recent
string of attacks on Chinese public venues, including a car
crash that killed five at Tiananmen Square, a symbol of
Communist Party rule, in October 2013. Rights groups say
that virtually all information on the attacks is funneled
through Chinese authorities and state media and have called
for transparency about the circumstances.
Despite calls for legal reform, high-ranking officials have
in recent months called for expedited trials and sentences
that would set examples in terrorism-related cases.
China: #2: The New Imperialism
China May Have Committed A Tiananmen Square-Scale Massacre
This Year -- And Totally Covered It Up
Courtesy: Business Insider Australia
A local woman on a crutch shouts at Chinese
paramilitary police wearing riot gear as a crowd of angry
locals confront security forces on a street in the city of
Urumqi in China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region on July 7,
2009.
Many feared that the recent pro-democracy protests in Hong
Kong would end with a crackdown reminiscent of the 1989
Tiananmen Square massacre, when the Chinese army crushed a
peaceful student occupation of central Beijing and killed
hundreds or even thousands of people in the process.
This speculation, and the global attention to Hong Kong,
ignores a crucial piece of context: The Chinese government
already killed scores of demonstrators in a single incident
earlier this year. And it did so under circumstances that
are the exact opposite of the situation in Hong Kong — far
from the prying eyes of the international media, in a
distant and peripheral part of the country that's home to a
restive minority group with a whole different set of
grievances against Beijing.
In early August, the president of the Germany-based World
Uyghur Congress claimed that at least 2,000 members of
China's Uyghur minority had been killed the previous month
in and around Elishku, a town in China's far west. China's
12 million Uyghurs are Muslims who speak a language related
to Turkish and who enjoy few civil, national, political, or
religious rights under China's nationalistic and
authoritarian system.
Beijing eventually admitted to killing 96 people in the
incident, but did not allow any international or independent
media or human rights monitors into the area. The incident
took place in a very remote area; the violence likely
involved police opening fire on demonstrators, rather than
tanks or heavy vehicles.
There were riots in the Uyghur city of Urumqi in 2009, and
Uyghur separatists are responsible for various acts of
terrorism throughout China, like a March 2014 knife attack
at a train station in Kunming that left over 30 people dead.
The incidents that have been met with increased levels of
oppression. The alleged massacre in Elishku came as the
result of a local, semi-spontaneous march on a police
station in the township, according to Radio Free Asia.
A few photographs of the unrest ended up on Weibo, China's
version of Twitter, some of them depicting bloodstained
streets and burned-out vehicles. They were quickly deleted.
No one outside of China has publicly verified what happened
in Elishku, but experts won't dismiss the possibility of a
significant death toll with witnesses telling Radio Free
Asia that it's possible over 1,000 people were killed.
"In my opinion, the truth lies somewhere in between what
state media says and what diaspora groups like the World
Uyghur Congress say," Thomas Nelson, an observer of Uyghur
affairs and editor of the Uyghur Update newsletter, told
Business Insider by email. "But with a discrepancy as large
as this one, where you have one side say less than 100
deaths and the other saying more than 2,000, there's still
the potential for a frighteningly large number of
casualties."
In September, Nelson wrote that a series of security
incidents in China's west had caused an uptick in the
possibility of a future state-led mass killing incident
targeted at Uyghurs, based on the conclusions of the Early
Warning Project's expert opinion pool.
Henryk Szadziewski, senior researcher for the Uyghur Human
Rights Project, told Business Insider it was difficult to
confirm the Elishku incident's death toll, thanks to
Beijing's obstruction of any independent monitors. But he
added that Beijing is currently pivoting its priorities in
Uyghur territory towards more security-oriented
policies.
"What we've seen in the past year is a shift among the
central leadership for policies in the region away from the
emphasis on development," Szadziewski told Business Insider.
He said that Chinese president Xi Jinping made "a key
statement" in January emphasising that security would be
Beijing's top priority in the west, after years of
attempting to pacify the region through large-scale
government building projects.
A very different type of protest in Hong Kong was
met with a different type of response.
Since July, China has imprisoned major Uyghur civil society
figures, most notably a prominent rights advocate and
scholar who was sentenced to life in prison in late
September. "It's a very clear signal that the government
won't tolerate opposition to its ethnic policies,"
Szadziewski said.
Which is a reminder of just how unique an event the Hong
Kong protests have been.
In a cosmopolitan center of international finance, Beijing
has had to carefully tread around its handling of mass
dissent. It wants to impose its will on a restive population
without having to resort to measures that could tarnish
China's image or risk a further escalation.
Out in the hinterlands, the Beijing government can
essentially do whatever it wants. Despite the global media
attention on Hong Kong, the government has a free hand in
how it deals with dissent in much of the world's most
populous country — even if it involves killing on a
massive.scale.
British Support for Dictator Bashar Assad is Clever: This
will help to See how Brits Work
British Muslims Receive 12+ Years for Syria Travel
Sis. Karin Friedemann [Boston]
Mohammed Ahmed and Yusuf Sarwar, both 22, were arrested at
Heathrow Airport in January 2014 as part of a government
crackdown on "radicalized jihadists." These days, this term
could mean anyone who went to Syria including for
humanitarian reasons. In May, the two pled guilty to one
count of engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorism
acts contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act.
Ironically, the Guardian reports that Police did not know
the men had travelled to Syria, where they spent eight
months, until one of their mothers contacted detectives in
May last year, shortly after the pair had left, reporting
her son missing. She had found a note written by her son
saying he had gone to fight and wished to "die as a martyr."
Instead of receiving help in locating her son, police raided
her home and arrested her son when he tried to return
home.
The mother of Yusuf Sarwar, in a press release distributed
by CAGE, insisted that her son had "not committed any
offenses, killed anyone or fought against any armed forces.
He has simply secured areas, dug graves, fasted and given
food to areas which were in need of dire help... I feel
prison is not the answer, neither is my son radicalized
neither is he a terrorist."
Farooq Siddiqui, of the Prevent programme, is calling for
the UK to stop criminalizing young Muslims who travel to
Syria to fight against Bashar al-Assad. Mr Siddiqui asked
why the government has threatened to arrest British Muslims
who return from Syria while it allows young people to fight
for Israel and other countries with impunity. And yet there
is no enforcement of prison for those British that join IDF.
"They [Ahmed and Sarwar] willingly, enthusiastically and
with a great deal of purpose, persistence and determination
embarked on a course intended to commit acts of terrorism,"
Judge Michael Topolski said. "Both of these defendants are
fundamentalists who are interested in and deeply committed
to violent extremism."
Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Moazzam Begg however insisted
the pair had been branded "terrorists" despite having "no
intention of harming anyone". Begg was interviewed by Sky TV
about the situation.
"They are very young; they appear bewildered by their
situation, I think especially Yusuf. It seemed to me that
these two young men had gone for benign reasons, I guess
they might of thought of it as a little bit of adventure,
but I think they never for one moment thought they were
committing a crime, certainly not a crime against the United
Kingdom. And when they returned and were arrested, they were
placed in Belmarsh just like anybody else who's been accused
of terrorism, as Category A prisoners. Now that would put
them alongside, in the same category as people who have
killed police officers, people who have committed gang
violence with sentences of 38 to 40 years, and it's that
level that they're at. The reason they have gone to Syria,
were like most of young people, at a time when they saw the
Assad regime was using brutal policies using chemical
weapons even barrel bombs against the civilian population,
so they felt like it was a duty, a moral duty, an Islamic
duty to go and help. They came back, crucially, because of
the infighting... they didn't want to be part of that rebel
infighting or involved in any group fighting other rebels.
They hadn't came for that. So they decided to come back and
say, "we've had enough" and we want to go back home."
Begg stated: "I spent several months in prison with these
two men and I do not consider them to be a threat to the
British public in any way, just in the same way the police
that arrested them said they posed no threat whatsoever.
"How can it be that former soldier Ryan McGee, who was found
with a bomb with 187 pieces of shrapnel and evidence of a
hate ideology was given 2 years and described as a misguided
teenager, while these men have been given over 12 years and
branded as terrorists despite them having no intention of
harming anyone?'
"If by handing down these harsh sentences the judge wanted
to send a message, then they message that has been clearly
received: there is a double standard when it comes to
Muslims accused of terrorism... This case must be taken to
appeal and the sentence must be challenged."
British security forces have stepped up surveillance and
arrests of terrorism suspects in recent months, and
lawmakers are set to toughen anti-terrorism laws in a bid to
stem the flow of Britons joining Islamic State (IS)
jihadists fighting in Syria and Iraq. An estimated 500
Britons are reported to have travelled abroad to become
"jihadists."
The controversial anti-terrorism powers, which are being
widely used to harass and gather intelligence on Muslims
traveling to and from the UK are being challenged by several
human rights organizations. Schedule 7, which forms part of
the Terrorism Act 2000, allows police to hold someone at a
UK port for questioning for up to nine hours about whether
they have been involved with acts of terrorism. Anyone
detained must "give the examining officer any information in
his possession which the officer requests" or face arrest.
Police need to have no reasonable suspicion to stop,
interrogate or detain anybody.

The Zionist Media Ignore these facts about Police Murder of
Eric Garner
Family Tells Sharpton to Back Off+ Policeman killed and
Ran
by Sis. Aisha [Jamaat al-Muslimeen New York City.]
New York City - This no indictment ruling from the grand
jury sends a very, very dangerous message to all of us!!!
You see, Houseboy Obama and HNIC Eric Holder are both
calling for officers to wear body cameras. How many times
have officers been caught misbehaving on their own dashcam
and not been disciplined for it? There were two videos of
Eric Garner's run in with murderous cops. One disturbing
video caught not only the murder but, the fact that Eric
Garner was still breathing and no police officers or EMT
workers gave him CPR! He died of a heart attack in the
ambulance! But, no indictment!
The message being sent is that camera or no
camera....witnesses or no witnesses, we are going to set it
up so that police officers will get away with harming or
killing you! The prosecutors and the judges are all in on
it! There is all sorts of prosecutorial misconduct in how
these grand juries are handled yet, the judges stay silent.
The attorney general, boss of all prosecutors in that
particular state, never investigates. The attorney general's
boss, the governor, never replaces the attorney general.
Sociologist Michael Eric Dyson stated, in a CNN interview,
that in 165,000 grand juries only 11 did not indict in 2013!
A prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich if he wanted to do
so!
In other news, Brooklyn DA Ken Thompson promises a thorough
grand jury investigation into the shooting death of Akai
Gurley by rookie cop Peter Liang. Gurley was shot in a dark
stairwell in the Pink Houses projects. The elevator was not
working and he took the stairs. Peter Liang was told not to
do rounds in that housing project but, ignored orders. Now,
a young father is dead because this cop got frightened in a
dark hallway. The officer called his union rep rather than
call 911 for medical assistance. He and his partner even
ran after the shooting!! A neighbor is the one who made the
911 call after hearing shots fired.
I am wary of this Brooklyn DA because he was the lawyer for
Dominique Strauss Kahn's rape victim and he did nothing to
get her justice. The grand jury voted to indict DSK on her
rape but, the Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance refused to move
forward with a criminal trial! He just decided he was not
going to do his job plus, he was leaking information about
the victim to the press in an effort to discredit her. That
should have been grounds for his disbarment or something!
Illegally disbarred attorney Alton Maddox brought it to
Community Cop viewers' attention of the legal shenanigans
that was going on at that time on the part of the Manhattan
DA and the DSK rape victim's attorneys. (Note: Alton
Maddox represented a Latino 16 year old accused of raping
the Central Park jogger in 1989 and got him off. The police
see him as the one who got away. Had history been different
these boys would have been known as the Central Park 6
rather than the Central Park 5! This is one of the reasons
why Maddox was disbarred!)
I commend Sylvia Palmer, Akai Gurley's Mother, for telling
Rev. Al Charlatan (Sharpton) to back off! According to the
New York Post, a tabloid paper, he sent out press releases
announcing his attendance at this Saturday's funeral and
that he was delivering the eulogy! However, Kevin Powell of
BK Nation is the family spokesperson. Palmer stated that
she did not want a circus surrounding her son's death and
that every time Sharpton get's involved in these types of
matters they end in confusion. Talk about a bully pulpit!
Sharpton stated that he was contacted by Gurley's
girlfriend, Kimberley Ballinger, but his family's
preferences were not considered. People have always accused
Sharpton of imposing himself on the families of shooting
victims but, his retort was that they always contacted him.
Well, this time Sharpton has admitted defeat and will stay
away but, he has stated that the family's division and
confusion has led to their decision not to use his
"services."
