Why does US government support Israel in its evil Actions?
Obama rep Vetoes UN Resolution on Settlements.
On February 19, the United States vetoed a UN resolution
against the expansion of Israeli settlements. It was the
mildest possible resolution. It did not condemn the
settlements but merely the expansion of settlements.
This veto leaves little doubt that that the Obama
administration is as subservient to Israel as was the Bush
administration.
Israel violates the basic laws of civilization. Its
existence is that of a predator which revels in the
destruction of human values.
Muslims of America should pray that America's rulers will
start caring for America than for an entity which has no
foundation in law.
Vast Prison System & Modern Mis-Education which teaches
Acceptance of Inequalities
by Dr. Abdulalim Shabazz
[

]
Education fundamentally means the accumulation of knowledge
that will enable the possessor to lead him/herself out of a
low state/condition to a higher one. Such an education
benefits the recipient. Throughout Africa and the Diaspora
the world-wide system of European centered education,
established over the past 500 years following the fall of
Granada and the coming of Columbus to the New World, has not
and is not providing this kind of education to the masses of
the people.
What the masses are receiving is an education which does not
benefit them, but which conditions them to acquire attitudes
toward the glaring inequalities of life so that they can
adjust themselves thereto with the least possible
difficulties; and when this fails, especially for the males,
the uneducated are placed under the control and supervision
of the vast prison system. Presently this latter is
occurring on an ever increasing scale, thereby deepening the
crisis in the proper education of African people and
consequently denying them the kind of education that will
give them upward mobility and the kind of mathematics,
science, engineering and technology necessary for the
maintenance and building of a nation.
The writer is Distinguished Professor of Mathematics and
philosopher of Jamaat al-Muslimeen.
Think! The Spotlights are meant to bring creative
thoughts.
Spotlights from Imam Badi Ali [North Carolina] National
Shoora of Jamaat al-Muslimeen.
Spotlight #1: Why did change take so long to happen in
Egypt? Remember Moses [Musa, pbuh] people wandered in the
desert for 40 years? When people accept oppression, they
have to wait till Allah brings a new generation.
Spotlight #2: Oppression is talked about but it is actively
opposed when it hits us personally. From Carter to today,
how many faces have changed in America, but it was the same
devilish face for three decades in Egypt till the entire
nation became its victim.
Spotlight #3: Look at oppression in America. Here credit
card companies and loans on interest have run amuck. The
people keep working hard to pay interest on mortgages.
Savings are down to zero. The people are poor but
helpless.
Spotlight #4. Revolutions for freedom happened in the West
centuries back. The Muslim world was locked into repressive
regimes. Now the Muslim world is regaining freedom while the
West is becoming a vast police state and under severe
controls.
Spotlight #5: Allah knows His creation. Allah has honored
women and has ordained that a woman should have only one
husband, while Allah has ordained that a man can have up to
4 wives in this world and more in the next. Allah's creation
is best known to him.
Spotlight #6: Men plot and plan but Allah is the Best of
planners. It may be that Allah ALLOWED the Zionists to bomb
Gaza, so that certain circumstances may develop.

Egypt: History in the Making: 2 Million Pray in Tahrir
Square, Led by Shaikh Yusuf al-Qardawi: End of Emergency
Rule?
February 18: Between one and two million Egyptians made the
Friday prayer in Tahrir Square led by Shaikh Yusuf
al-Qaradawi who has returned from exile in Qatar. He called
on the military to remember its promises and noted that
emergency rule has not been ended. He gave an inclusive
message to include Muslims and Coptic Christians in his
prayer.
There is speculation in the western media about the peaceful
behavior of the Egyptian army. Gen. Enan, the
commander-in-chief of the Egyptian army, was in the US when
the peaceful uprising began. Why did the army desist from
violence? Will it coopt the protestors successfully?
There is also speculation about the silence of Al-Zawahiri
who is himself from Egypt. There is possibly a link between
the behavior of the army and the silence of Al-Zawahiri. If
the army had started a massacre, the people would have had
to carry out armed resistance, thus opening the doors for
al-Zawahiri. On the other hand, if an armed attack were to
occur while the army is behaving like a lamb, it would
discredit the Islamic forces.
Egypt seems to be passing through a "Weimar Republic" type
of transition. It is looking for an Islamic leader, who is
probably not al-Qaradawi.
Africa breaking its chains
Gaddafi Shows his brutal hand: 300 killed in Libya
Crowds chant "Allahu Akbar," Tear Down Gaddafi's Pics
50 Libyan Muslim leaders have urged security forces to stop
killing civilians."This is an urgent appeal from religious
scholars, intellectuals, and clan elders from Tripoli, Bani
Walid, Zintan, Jadu, Msalata, Misrata, Zawiah, and other
towns and villages of the western area," the appeal, signed
by the group of leaders, stated."We appeal to every Muslim,
within the regime or assisting it in any way, to recognise
that the killing of innocent human beings is forbidden by
our Creator and by His beloved prophet of compassion, peace
be upon him ... Do not kill your brothers and sisters. Stop
the massacre now!" [al-Jazeerah Feb.20]
By February 20, Col. Gaddafi's heavily armed thugs have
killed more than 300 unarmed people. The killings began on
Friday when Gaddafi's security forces shooting into the
crowds in Benghazi. Then on Saturday, as masses of people
turned up to oppose Gaddafi, the colonel sent in helicopters
to machine gun the people from the air. Benghazi's hospitals
are full of dead and dying people. Hundreds have been
injured.
The good news is that Gaddafi's army is now split and some
units in Benghazi have joined the Islamic masses. Some
military vehicles siding with Gaddafi have been burned,
along with the police headquarters in Benghazi.
On Sunday, In Benghazi, Gaddafi's forces started mass
arrests of new crowds of protestors. In Al-Bayda, a city
which was taken over by protestors, Gaddafi sent in his
mercenary forces which have killed 25 people. In Tripoli,
which is Gaddafi's stronghold, the protests were easily
crushed. He, in turn, led a procession denouncing the
protestors. However demonstrations have now [2.20] spread to
ALL the cities in Libya.
Gaddafi used to pose as the liberator of Africa with the
huge sums of oil money at his disposal. Islamic opposition
to him grew to the extent that he feared that he would be
toppled. Hence, he openly hooked up with the western powers.
BP has large oil interests in Libya, hence the British &
American silence on the slaughter he is carrying out. His
mercenaries are using sniper rifles sold to him by the
British only a few months back.
[New Trend readers might remember that Libya was the only
Muslim country in which Islamic protests against the
cartoons of the Prophet, pbuh, which started in Denmark,
were crushed. At that time 26 Islamic protestors were killed
by Gaddafi's security force,

Latest Khutba: The Rising of the Ummah
Ending Dictatorship & Disparities are Part of Islamic
Revolution, not Secularism.
Women's Role & Shi'a-Sunni Unity & US Muslims
On February 18, Dr. Kaukab Siddique gave the Juma' Khutba in
Baltimore. Here are the main points for distribution across
the country.
Texts:" O ye who believe! Enter into Islam completely and
wholly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he
is to you an avowed enemy." [The Qur'an 2:208]
Abu Huraira, r,a., reports: Sa'ad bin Ubadah, r.a., asked
the messenger of Allah: If I see my wife with another male,
is it true that I cannot take action until I bring four
witnesses? The messenger of Allah, pbuh, said: Yes."
[Hadith. Muwatta of Imam Malik.]
-
Even as we speak, mass uprisings are happening in Libya,
Algeria, Yemen, Bahrain, Jordan and even in Senegal and
Mauritania.
-
These uprisings have taken the Euro-American powers and
Israel by complete surprise. The Zionist media are covering
their shock and awe by saying that these are "secular"
uprisings and "we" are with them.
-
Don't be fooled by these claims. The masses are coming out
of the mosques and are standing for basic Islamic principles
such as JUSTICE, ONENESS of the Ummah, the rights of the
poor and the oppressed, an END TO SLAVERY of all kinds and
removal of the rule of tyrants, despots and agents of
foreign powers.
-
Secularism does not motivate masses of ordinary humans to
oppose the brutal power of the modern state which can kill
them.
-
Secularist America has supported every TYRANT in Muslim
lands. The Muslims will break the chains of tyanny,
inshallah, and will demand that America make amends.
-
Those rising against tyranny and oppression are our brothers
and sisters. Be they Shi'as in Bahrain or Sunnis in Libya,
the cause of freedom from human power is the cause of ALL
Muslims.
-
Shi'a and Sunni are no longer relevant in the struggle
against tyrants, generals and kings. The question is: Are
you with the tyrants or are you with the God-given rights of
the people.
-
In America, we Muslims are 7 to 9 million strong. If we
unite on the basis of the Qur'an and the authentic hadith,
we can break the choke hold of Zionism and International
Jewry on the throat of this country.
-
I know that most of the "leaders" of Muslims in America are
working closely with the White House, the Pentagon, the
State Department and the agencies of surveillance, spying
and entrapment, but do not be impressed by these tiny
cliques.
-
Most Muslims [the silent majority] support our movement
against Zionism, against war, against occupation, against
tyranny and against Israel. Go to any mosque and you will
stop thinking that the pro-government groups have support.
-
If we work with non-violent resistance, within the law of
the land, with careful study and research we will defeat
Zionism flat out in its own stronghold.
-
Our sisters have a central role to play in this struggle.
There cannot be an Islamic movement which does not have the
support of Muslim women. Look at the uprisings in Egypt and
Bahrain. How strong our Islamic sisters were standing up to
Mubarak and how good are our hijabi sisters in Bahrain
putting their lives on the line against the puppet who has a
huge "foreign" military base on the island.
-
The messenger of Allah, pbuh, showed us that women are
central to the Islamic struggle. Remember Fatima Zahra,
r.a., on the battlefield of Uhud, tending to the Prophet's
wounds. Remember Umm Ammara, r.a., shielding him with her
own body from the spears of the kuffar. That is ISHQ Rasool,
pbuh, that we may die before he is hurt. Remember young
Ayesha Siddiqa, r.a., at Badr, the sublime scholarly woman
in whose arms he, pbuh, breathed his last.
-
Suspicion about our brothers and sisters, especially
sisters, is forbidden in Islam. Those Muslims do who do not
know Islam often disparage women who come into public life.
It requires great courage to oppose the White House and
Zionism. We must honor our sisters who have this courage.
-
Islam teaches severe punishments for those who cast
suspicions on Muslim women just because they are not very
strict in public life. Any accusations against women must be
supported by evidence and witnesses otherwise you'll be in
serious trouble with Allah Almighty.
Let us supplicate: O Allah! Give victory to the people of
Islam in Kashmir, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq.
O Allah help the people rising up in Africa, in Yemen and
the Middle East in general to replace their tyrants with
Islamic rule.
O Allah! Unite the Muslims of Baltimore and all America on
the Qur'an and authentic Hadith, and save them O Allah from
misleaders and agents.
Above all, O Allah we pray for your support of the Muslim
Ummah to defeat the Yahood and drive them out of
Palestine.

Unite Against Zionism, Imperialism & Despotism
We Can Have Global Muslim Unity:
Grasp this Moment in History
By Sis. Sofia [New York City]
To all Muslims around the globe: Grasp this moment in
Islamic history as one last opportunity from Allah Almighty
to wipe out the spiritual and moral blemish of our
Shia-Sunni divide and to unite as One Ummah. Let us all join
in unity as Muslims and not side with our enemies who have
created divisions amongst us in the guise of "saviors"
"benevolent rulers" "kings" "protectors of the Ka'aba"
"modern world" and so on and so forth. "DIVIDE AND RULE" has
been one weapon that they have used for centuries to destroy
our lives and our lands. Our resolve now should be: "LET US
UNITE AND TAKE CHARGE OF OUR LIVES."
The Qur'an is very clear in this regard: One Creator / Allah
Almighty, One Humanity, One Ummah.
Muslims everywhere must now set aside all their
disagreements and divisions and speak with one voice and
stand up as One Ummah. This may be the last chance that
Allah Almighty offers us to redeem our souls as Muslims.
If not now then when?
If not us then who?
Human Rights: URGENT ALERT:
Saudi government crackdown against members of the Islamic
Omma Party
-
Summary
The government of Saudi Arabia continued to use arbitrary
measures against political activists. Saudi authorities have
arrested the members of the newly established "Islamic Omma
Party" with no legal grounds. The founding members of the
party have been detained with no charges since Thursday 16
February 2011 until now.
-
Background
The Islamic Omma Party is considered to be the first
political party in Saudi Arabia. The party was formed by a
group of nine Saudi intellectuals and political activists,
who were aiming to bring political reform forward. The party
was announced on Thursday 10February 2011. On Tuesday 15
February 2011, the party announced an open invitation to all
activists in the presence of local and global media and
journalists, to hold their first meeting.
In reaction to this announcement, the Saudi authorities
arrested and detained almost all the founding members of the
party on Wednesday 16 February 2011. Those detained are: Dr
Ahmed bin Sa'ad bin Gharm al-Ghamidi; professor at Umm
al-Qura University, Mr Sa'ud bin Ahmed al-Dughaithir
;political activist; Shaykh Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad
al-Wuhaybi; lawyer and political activist; Dr Abdul Kareem
bin Yusuf al-Khidhr; university professor, Shaykh Muhammad
bin Hussein bin Ghaanim al-Qahtani; businessman, Mr Muhammad
bin Naser al-Ghamidi; political activist, Dr Waleed bin
Muhammad Abdullah al-Majid; lawyer; doctor of law.
In Saudi Arabia the freedom of opinion, freedom of speech,
independent political activities or free press are often
restricted in order to prevent criticism of the government.
IHRC condemns the arrest of political reformers by the Saudi
authorities and urges them to immediately release the
activists and ensure their legal and human rights are
protected. The Saudi government must respect the public
freedom and maintain peace and stability in the country, as
was called by the party in their first letter to King
Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. The arrest of activists at this
time increases the tension between the government and the
citizens and could lead to further repression and anarchy in
the country.
-
Action required Write to the Saudi authorities urging
them to immediately release the political activists and to
cease from using repressive measures to suppress freedom of
expression and other legitimate activities.

Exchange 'Aafia for Raymond. He is Not a Diplomat
Islamic Leader says: End of US Relationship would be a
blessing
Karachi: February 18, 2011: Jamaat-e-Islami's top leader,
Syed Munawar Hasan, told a press conference that Raymond
Davis is not a diplomat but a double murderer who cannot be
let off under any convention. The American demands for his
release are condemnable, he said. A killing by happenstance
or by accident could be considered for financial penalty,
but deliberate homicide gives the relatives of the deceased
the right to retaliate and they could, in addition, demand
freedom for Dr. A'afia Siddiqui and for an end to American
intervention in Pakistan.
Munawar Hasan was speaking at Idara-e-Noor-Haq. With him
were Muhammad Hussain Mehnati [ameer of Jamaate--Islami
Karachi], Nasrullah Khan Shujih [deputy ameer] and other
leaders. He congratulated the activists of the Movement for
the Defense of the Honor of the Prophet, pbuh, whose
countrywide rallies made it impossible for the regime to
abrogate or amend the laws against Blasphemy of the Prophet,
pbuh.
Referring to President Obama's direct demand for the release
of Raymond Davis, the Islamic leader said that the Pakistani
president has not even mentioned the name of Dr. A'afia
while the American president is demanding the release of a
double murderer. What a shame! Raymond's passport itself
shows that he is no diplomat. He said, if America breaks its
ties with Pakistan, that would be good for Pakistan: In fact
there cannot be a better scenario for Pakistan, he
concluded.
From NT's Pakistan Observer
Raymond was Directing Drone Attacks: No Attacks after his
Arrest.
Pak Leaders say, He should be tried under Anti-Terrorism
Act
Lahore, February 18: Jamaate Islami's Deputy Secretary
General, Dr Farid Ahmed Piracha, has called for Raymond
Davis's trial under Anti-Terrorism Act and a thorough
investigation of him as to his terrorist network.
In a statement here Friday, he said that Washington must be
told point black that Raymond was not only the direct killer
of three youths, he was behind the killing of thousands of
citizens in drone attacks and target killings.
He said that the Pakistani nation was deadly against the US
and its puppets ruling this country while the statements by
US officials on Raymond issue were adding fuel to the
fire.
JI central leader Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, addressing the
Friday congregation at the Syed Maudoodi Institute mosque,
said that all over the world, a killer was punished by the
law of the land. Raymond had killed innocent youth in broad
day light and the Pakistani people wanted that he be hanged
to death under the Pakistani law.
Hafiz Idrees pointed out that the Holy Prophet (pbuh), had
fought the historic battle of Mauta against the Syrians and
the Jews only to avenge the murder of one of his companions.
It was strange, he said, that the on one hand, the rulers
were celebrating Milad of the Holy Prophet, while on the
other hand, they was conspiring to release a murderer and
deport him on some excuse.
He however said that the JI would continue its struggle for
providing justice to the aggrieved families.

NATO Kills 64 Civilians, including 20 women/children
Those killed and injured were said to include women and
children
[BBC Report follows. Some of it is funny if you see the
humor of NATO investigating itself after murdering 64
people. No international outcry either!]
Nato has said it will investigate reports that it has killed
dozens of civilians in recent days in ground and air strikes
in eastern Afghanistan.
The governor of Kunar province has said 64 civilians have
been killed in recent Nato-led air strikes in a remote
mountainous district.
Afghan President Hamid Karzai later said more than 50
civilians had died.
Nato claims to have killed more than 30 insurgents in an
overnight raid in the area two days ago.
A spokesman for the Nato forces in Afghanistan told the BBC
that they had no evidence of any civilian casualties, but
that they were looking into the reports.
'Martyred'
Governor of Kunar Province, Fazlullah Wahidi, said on Sunday
that 20 women and a number of children were among the 64
civilians killed in the district of Ghaziabad over the last
few days.
Shortly afterwards, President Hamid Karzai said that, based
on information from Afghanistan's spy agency and local
officials, troops had killed more than 50 civilians during
days of operations.
About 50 civilians have been martyred during international
military forces operations in Ghaziabad district in Kunar
province"
Mr Karzai said "about 50 civilians have been martyred during
international military forces operations in Ghaziabad
district in Kunar province," according to AFP, adding that
he "strongly condemns" the killings.

Taliban Storm Military Bank: Guerrilla attacks Tie down NATO
forces
February 19: In a seemingly well-planned Taliban attack on
Jalalabad's Kabul Bank, the US-funded military of Karzai
suffered heavily. The Karzai troops and special police had
lined up to draw salaries from the bank when the Taliban
struck. Kabul reports 21 military and 17 civilians
associated with the military killed and 71 wounded. The
three Taliban attackers were also killed.
Slow but Steady NATO Losses:
During February, to the 17th, NATO sources said 21 of their
its troops were killed. No Taliban losses reported.
February 18. In the northern town of Pul-e-Charkhi, a
mujahid who had joined NATO as an opponent of mujahideen,
opened fire on German troops, killing 3 and injuring 6. The
Germans had just taken off their armor when the mujahid
opened fire.
February 19: In southern Afghanistan, in a gunfight with
Taliban, an Australian trooper and his interpreter were
killed.
[NT observers say: Australian irony: Australia claims that
it is trying to help "reconstruct" Afghanistan, but in the
meantime, it seems that an angel from God decided to send
unprecedented floods and a cyclone to two of Australia's
provinces. Some say it was like an "inland tsunami." Now
Australia has to reconstruct itself.
Readers might remember that when the Qur'an was thrown into
the latrines in Gtmo, Katrina "reconstructed" several
American cities, of which New Orleans was the only human
error. ]
