Jamaat al-Muslimeen [Human Rights Group] Condemns Abduction,
rape, Imprisonment of Pak Female Scholar
Tragic Suffering of Dr. Afia Siddiqui must now End: Bush
and Musharraf Violated International and Islamic Law
We urge Senator Obama to show his humanity by taking note of
this ugly blot on the face of America's justice system.
Jamaat also urges women's organizations in America to speak
up and call for Dr. Afia's immediate release.
Afia Siddiqui is the example of violated humanity.

In March 2003 Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her three children
disappeared in Karachi, Pakistan. By most accounts, she
appears to have been abducted by General Musharraf's
intelligence operatives and handed over to the U.S.
government. The U.S. claimed that it had no knowledge of
where she was located and yet condemned her as activist of
the armed Islamic movement known as al-Qaida. Thus she
simultaneously disappeared and was condemned without trial.
Dr. Afia is a highly educated Pakistani woman who excelled at
America's top universities such as MIT and Brandeis. Her
loyalty to Islam and her scientific expertise may have led
the U.S.-Zionist agencies to target her.
Last month, Sis. Yvonne Ridley, famous British journalist,
held a press conference in Pakistan and stated that Islamic
prisoners held in Bagram [notorious Afghan prison] had heard
the hysterical cries and wailing of a woman being tortured
who seemed to be Pakistani.
This horrible revelation led to a hue and cry in Pakistan by
human rights activists who were sure that the tortured
wailing woman must be none other than Dr. Afia Siddiqui.
About three weeks back, the U.S. carried out one of its
weirdest cover up stories to try to implicate Dr. Afia in
"terrorism." The American story, parroted by Pakistani
English media supporting anti-Islamic efforts, makes
fascinating reading. The U.S. claims that till now Dr. Afia
had been underground in Afghanistan [not in Bagram prison].
Three weeks backs, the U.S. claims, Afia suddenly came out of
hiding and attacked U.S. troops [alone]. No one was hurt but
she was hit by U.S. return fire. She and one of her children
were "captured" and have been "moved" to a notorious U.S.
prison in New York known as Metropolitan Correctional
Center [MCC].
[The fate of her other two children is still obscure.]
On August 6, 2008 the judge in the case accepted the absurd
story Bush's operatives have cooked up about Dr. Afia.
The U.S. story is patently fabricated. Dr. Afia does not know
Pushtu or Persian and could not have survived in Afghanistan
for five years. She is a very small person, attenuated by her
stay in U.S. torture chambers. The idea that she would emerge
suddenly in MID-AFGHANISTAN [Ghazni area] and fire a gun at
American troops, hit no one, and then be shot down and
"captured" is preposterous beyond measure
The reports about Dr. Afia indicate that the U.S. accepted
comments made by prisoners in Guantanamo Bay as an indication
that she is involved with al-Qaida. However, other reports
indicate that under torture prisoners can implicate anyone
they might have heard of to take the torturers off
their back.
The sister of Dr. Afia, in grave danger herself from
Musharraf's men, held a press conference in Karachi [August
5] in which she accused the U.S. of high crimes, including
rape, against her scholarly sister. Dr. Anwarul Haque, a
prominent Pakistani physician, Sis. Amina Masood, leading a
search for persons "disappeared" by Musharraf, and others,
are holding protest rallies in Islamabad [August 7] against
her imprisonment.
The FIVE YEAR LONG and continuing agony of a highly educated
Islamic, Pakistani woman at the hands of the U.S.-Zionist
regime is yet another sign that the U.S. is at war with Islam
at Zionist instigation. Rule of Law has become meaningless in
America's war.

Sharjah- City of Masjids & Female Huffaaz:
The Unknown Middle East
Many outside the emirate may not know but by the grace of
Allah, Sharjah is not only blessed with countless masjids,
but a majority of these masjids have some kind of Quran
Memorization program for women & children.
The program is Awqaaf initiated/approved & is free for all.
Every morning (usually after Fajr or by 7am depending on the
masjid), you will see hordes of women walk to their
neighborhood masjid with their mushafs in hand.
Every masjid has a tleast one Awqaaf appointed female
teacher. But depending upon the size of the masjid & number
of students, there could be as many as 5-6 teachers who sit
in circles with their students.
Each student is memorizing a different juz, at her own pace.
The teacher takes the attendance, listens to each one,
reviews the older portions & gives them their new lesson for
the next day. The classes are held everyday except Friday &
Saturday. After completion of every two juzs, an examiner is
called to test them. After passing successfully, the student
is issued her certificate. After memorizing ten juz, she
becomes eligible to teach at other masjids.
The first time i visited a masjid during class hour, i was
surprised to find the number of women (mixed nationalities)
who had already memorized more than five juz. Their eagerness
& commitment was also noteworthy.
In a year or two, most of those women will be haafizzas,
inshaAllah. And judging by the number of masjids & the number
of women students in each, it can be safe to say that Sharjah
will soon be a city of female huffaaz. InshaAllah.
Prophet (Salulaahu alahi wasallum said, "It will be said
to the companion of the Qur'aan: Recite and rise in status,
recite as you used to recite in the world, for your status
will be at the last verse that you recite." [Al-Tirmidhi

Nayyar Zaidi, Veteran Journalist, arrested on
Weird Charges.
A veteran journalist of the secularist Pakistani daily JANG
writing from the U.S. has been arrested. For three months
after his arrest, earlier this year, no one knew where he was
and what had happened to him. It appears that somehow his
computer was broken into and he was accused of attempted
child molestation. Our observers say that the U.S. can easily
break into a computer and place all kinds of vile material in
it. Zaidi is 64 years old, happily married and well aware
that if he were attempting to reach an under age person by
computer, his activity could easily be monitored by
intelligence agencies.
The more likely scenario is that Zaidi is the victim of the
Zionist regime-in-America's "MID-DAY KNOCK."
Here is an excerpt from an old interview Zaidi had
with CNN.
"Consider the case of an American citizen of Pakistani
descent living in Washington who says his phone calls were
monitored by the U.S. government. He may be a familiar face.
His name is Nayyar Zaidi and he is the Washington
correspondent for Pakistan's "Daily Jang," a frequent guest
on CNN who is with us once again today.
Thanks so much for being with us.
What happened to you?
NAYYAR ZAIDI, "DAILY JANG": Well, on February 20, 2003, I was
not home, only my 15-year-old son was home. Three FBI agents
came to me house, one male, who was a lawyer and an FBI
agent, and two female agents. And they asked my son if I was
home, then they wanted to enter my house.
My son asked them, do you really have to. They said yes. So
they came in, looked around and asked him some questions.
So my son then got panicky and they left their phone numbers
and names. So he tracked me down on my cell phone and said
the FBI was here looking for you. I said OK, relax, calm, I'm
coming home.
I came and called them back, the special agent, Chris
McKinney (ph), and he said, "Mr. Zaidi, we have found that 10
phone calls were made from your home phone overseas to
different countries, including India, Pakistan, China," God
knows. Holland. And these were his exact words, "that brush
off against 9/11 phone numbers."
I said, well, I have several phones at home, which phone
number. He said the very phone number on which you are
calling me, which was on the caller ID.
So I said OK. Then I went to the Washington field office.
They interrogated me for two hours, mainly starting with
profiling questions. "Mr. Zaidi, how many kids do you have,
how many cars do you have, your children, their car
registrations, their cell numbers".
HOW THE 'NEW WORLD' IS IN FACT BEING 'ORDERED'
THE TRIAL OF
SADDAM
HUSSEIN

SYNOPSIS
The trial of Saddam Hussein marks the first time since the UN
was created that a head of state has been put on trial by an
invading, occupying power. This book seeks to draw public
attention to the threat this precedent poses to developing
nations worldwide, and to its distortive influence on the
further evolution of international law.
Al-Ani documents the trail of illegalities marking the
destruction of Iraq at the hands of the US and UK, from the
genocidal sanctions of the 1990s, the US State Department
pre-invasion planning that commenced in 2001, and the 2003
invasion, to the setting up and proceedings of the tribunal
that swiftly dispatched Saddam Hussein.
While the Tribunal was intended to promote the image of a
triumphant Iraqi democracy, the US was actually in control of
all stages of the trial. It drafted the Tribunal's Statute;
determined the trial venue and what charges would be brought;
researched, compiled, stored, and prevented access to
evidence and documentation; selected and trained the judges,
and micro-managed the proceedings.
The trial itself was so farcical as to provoke international
condemnation. International human rights groups, including
Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, as well as UN
bodies such as the Working Group on Arbitrary Detention and
the High Commissioner for Human Rights, have stated that the
Iraqi Special Tribunal and its legal process does not meet
international standards for a fair trial.
The behavior of the United States and its allies sets an ugly
precedent for its intervention in other targeted states.
This detailed examination reveals how the 'New World' is in
fact being 'ordered'. It presents a terrifying prospect of
ruthless dictatorship, deprivation of independence, and
removal of the human right to justice. It lays bare the
level of deception, hypocrisy, and flagrant flouting of even
its own laws to which the U.S. was willing to resort in
order to achieve its objective: the subjugation of a
sovereign nation.

Free Dr. Sami al-Arian!!
Protest & Vigil
Wednesday, August 13th, 5pm
(Press Conference @ 4:30pm)
Downtown Federal Building
300 North Los Angeles Street
Los Angeles, CA
Please join us for a press conference and protest/vigil in
demanding that the Federal Government immediately free Dr.
Sami Al-Arian!! We will also be calling for a stop to the
racist attacks against Muslims and Arabs by the
US Government!!
Dr. Sami Al-Arian, one of the earliest victims of the "war on
terror" within the U.S. itself, continues to languish in jail
for 5 years, where he has been since his February 2003 arrest
for the "crime" of speaking out on behalf of the Palestinian
struggle against Israel's apartheid.
Recently granted bond by a federal judge, Sami Al-Arian is
still being held in prison. In fact, Dr. Al-Arian is now
being subjected to the worst treatment by prison officials
since his stay in Coleman Federal Penitentiary in Florida
three years ago.
On July 12th, a Federal judge pronounced that Dr. Al-Arian is
not a danger to the community nor a flight risk, and
accordingly granted him bail before his scheduled August
13th trial.
However, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), continues
to hold him.
Not content to merely keep Dr. Al-Arian from enjoying even a
very limited stint of freedom, the government is using all
available means to try to psychologically break him. Instead
of keeping him in a prison close to the Washington DC area
where his two oldest children live, the ICE has moved him to
Pamunkey Regional Jail in Hanover, VA, more than one hundred
miles from the capital. He is being kept under a 23-hour
isolated lock-down and his children have been denied
visitation requests.
More critically, this distance makes it extremely difficult
for Dr. Al-Arian to meet with his attorneys in the final
weeks before his upcoming trial.
Please join the International Socialist Organization and
others for a press conference and protest/vigil in demanding
that the Federal Government immediately free Dr. Sami
Al-Arian!! We will also be calling for a stop to the racist
attacks against Muslims and Arabs by the US Government!!
