PAKISTANI LEADER MOBILIZING MASSES for Boycott of Musharraf's Election Program. Wants Peaceful Overthrow of Musharraf

December 23, 2007: Speaking in Quetta, western Pakistan, Jamaate Islami Pakistan leader Qazi Hussain Ahmad called Musharraf's plan to hold elections bogus and a big fraud being perpetrated on the Pakistani people. He urged the people to rise up to re-establish the rule of law and to reinstate the Chief Justice and other judges of the Supreme Court.
Qazi sahib [as he is known in Pakistan] will launch the Jamaat Islami's boycott movement from Pishin. On December 31, he, Imran Khan and Mahmud Achakzai [and others] plan to address a large boycott gathering in Peshawar.
KARACHI: Earlier in the biggest city in Pakistan, Jamaate Islami held a series of meetings to condemn the Musharraf regime. A December 19 address by Hussain Mahnati, the new Ameer of the Karachi JI, in Federal B Area, brought attention to the suffering of the poor owing to recent increases in the prices of rice, flour and oil. JI is focusing on the needs of the great majority of Karachi's people who are facing economic hardships. In another public gathering, Syed Munawar Hasan, a top level leader of the national JI urged the activists of the JI to prove through their efforts for the poor and the needy that faith and movement have become one in their search for Allah's acceptance.
Islamabad: On December 17, Imran Khan's Insaf Movement, lawyers, students and numerous women and children marched peacefully from Aab Para to the Marriott Hotel, demanding the resignation of General Musharraf and the reinstatement of the Chief Justice. The processionists were teargassed by the police and then attacked by a large police force. Women and children begged for mercy but were ruthlessly beaten up with sticks and staves. Thirty five men and 9 women were arrested.

STRANGE EID in PAKISTAN: December 21: [For Eid Day Attack, scroll down to "War News.]

Believe it or not, General [retd] Musharraf and his entire cabinet went for Eid prayers at a mosque in Islamabad which was established by the Saudi King.
However,in the same city, the General did not permit Iftikhar Choudhry, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who is being held under house arrest, to go for Eid prayers. Similarly, A.Q. Khan, Pakistan's top nuclear scientist, was under house arrest during Eid, as he has been for several years under orders from the U.S. to Musharraf.
Aitzaz Ahsan, head of the Pakistan Bar Association, which represents all the lawyers of Pakistan, was re-arrested, mistreated and stopped from joining Eid prayers.

December 23, 2007: A small Islamic fighting group entered Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia, and clashed with Ethiopian occupation forces [armed and funded by the U.S.] Mortar and machine gun fire was exchanged. The Ethiopians backed off and the Islamic fighters are still in the city, awaiting reinforcements. Most of Somalia is now back in Islamic hands and but for Ethiopian tanks an Islamic government would be established right away.
The U.S. meanwhile has trained mercenaries in Burundi to go in and reinforce the Ethiopians.

Congratulations to the Muslim World on Hajj: THREE Million Were There, including President Ahmedinejad and King Abdullah

Press Release: Jamaat al-Muslimeen congratulates the Muslim world on the completion of the Hajj in which more than THREE MILLION people participated, making it the biggest gathering of human beings. With all its weaknesses, the blessing of Allah makes it possible for the Ummah to show symbolically that it is ONE UMMAH. There cannot be any Arab Islam or American Islam. There is only ONE Islam revealed by the ONE Creator under the leadership of Muhammad, pbuh.
It was good to see that the Arabian leader Abdullah and the Iranian leader Ahmedinejad met. This should help to bury the issue of Shia and Sunni. Nominally, both Sunnis and Shias are Muslims. What matters is their TAQWA and their ability to stand up to Imperialism and Zionism. If they plan to recognize Israel, then their Hajj is nothing but hypocrisy. If they plan to unite on the basis of Islam, the Muslim world will unite with them.

Nigerian Scholars to Work with Jamaat al-Muslimeen for Book Publication

December 24: Earlier this month, Jamaat reps met with Dr. Asheikh Ahmad, a scholar and devout Muslim from Nigeria. He and a network of Islamic teachers [muallams] in Nigeria will work with Jamaat al-Muslimeen to publish a definitive book on Islam in Nigeria. Dr. Asheikh combines within himself both Islamic knowledge and western learning which the Jamaat badly needs for its da'wah.
As many of our readers know, Shaikh Usman Dan Fodio [known lovingly as the Shehu] and his daughter Asmau were instrumental in transforming Nigeria into an Islamic community imbued with the values taught by Prophet Muhammad, pbuh. The power of Islam can be seen even today when we see that a number of states in northern Nigeria have implemented Shari'a.
Unfortunately there is no definitive book on Islam in Nigeria in the English language. Dr. Asheikh and other scholars sympathetic to the Jamaat will help us to fulfill this need, inshallah.

Brooklyn Islamic Shoora Activist Br. Abu Talib Prays with Both Shi'as and Sunnis: 32 Years of Work with Grassroots Community Groups

Physically, he is small. His voice is not loud, but he has done more for Islamic causes and the rights of the oppressed than other Muslims in Brooklyn. When we talked to Br. Abu Talib last week, he had just returned from distributing Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Shoora resolutions [re: Lincoln University] at a small Shia mosque in Brooklyn, New York. The week before that he made Juma' at a Sunni mosque. Originally from Trinidad, Br. Abu Talib has been vocal in the protests against the Bush administration's attempts to link the Muslims of Trinidad and Guyana to the alleged JFK "plot."
Like many other activist Muslims, Br. Abu Talib came to orthodox Islam via the Nation of Islam [NOI] He took the Shahada in 1975 and since then has been involved in just about every action by the people of New York against the oppressive power structure. Often he finds that he is the only Muslim present in demonstrations supporting the causes of the oppressed and the downtrodden.

ISNA's Siraj Wahhaj has a mosque in Brooklyn but he is never seen among the activist communities. He has nothing to do with the poor and the oppressed. Siraj Wahhaj received huge publicity from ISNA but his work in Brooklyn is ZERO. Siraj served the pro-government bootlicker organization known as ISNA for many years. One of his most notorious acts was to help the Zionist judge Michael Mukasey [now attorney general] put the great scholar of Islam, Dr. Omar 'Abdel Rahman, in prison for life. The story of ISNA's Siraj Wahhaj and others like him has tainted the great legacy of Islam in America.

Masjid Jamaat al-Muslimeen [Baltimore] Held Eid Prayers on December 21: Led to Overflow Gathering for Juma'
Most Muslims on the east coast felt helpless owing to the ISNA-Saudi decision to hold Eid al-Adha on the 8th of Zulhijja [December 19], a record breaking bid'a perpetrated by this White House oriented group. To help Muslims break out of this situation, Jamaat al-Muslimeen decided to hold prayers on the correct date, December 21. A very small gathering was held because most Muslims on Eid want to go to large gatherings.
However the news of the Eid prayer spread, so on Friday prayers, the masjid had the biggest crowd it has had. The Eid prayer khutba was given by Dr. Kaukab Siddique while the Juma Khutba was given by Br. Abu Bakar [from Africa].

Here are a few points Br. Kaukab made in his khutba:

In Islam, numbers are not the criterion of success. What matters is the truthfulness and Fear of Allah. In Makka, the Islamic revolution was formulated by a few brave men and women, slaves and people from small tribes. From the numbers point of view, the mission in Makka would have looked like a failure.
The story of Hajj and the story of sacrifice related to Ibrahim and Ismail, are given in separate chapters of the Qur'an. Hajj and Eid al-Adha are not linked in the Qur'an.

In Hajj, people often forget the role of our mother Hajira, r.a., in the founding of the holy city of Makka. The Qur'an refers to the hills of Safa and Marwa, where Hajira, r.a., struggled for survival and success as "the Signs of Allah." Hajira, r.a., was given the miracle of Zam Zam, which was pointed out to her by the Angel Jibreel [see Sahih Bukhari ]. It is the greatest miracle today, second only to the Qur'an.
Ismail and Ibrahim, pbut, accepted Allah's Will. The same spirit of sacrifice and acceptance was manifested in the time of Muhammad, pbuh, by the Sahaba, r.a., whom the Qur'an refers to as the Sabiqun al-Awwalun [9:100].

Growing Violence in our Cities and the Right of Self-Defense

Riverhead, NY: In 2006, John White heard a disturbance outside of his Long Island home during the night. He saw his son being threatened by 4 drunken teens in his front yard. The confrontation on his property was over a girl. Mr. White comes outside and brandishes a pistol. During his struggle with one of the teens, the gun discharged and 17-year-old Daniel Cicciaro, who was drunk at the time, was killed.

John White was brought up on charges of manslaughter. Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney James Chalifoux maintains the view that Mr. White should have simply backed away from the commotion and called police. The jury is currently deadlocked in its second day of deliberations.

A grand jury had already reduced the second-degree murder charge, which carries a 35 year sentence, to manslaughter. The manslaughter charge carries a 15 year sentence but, he can be found guilty of reckless endangerment and be out in one year.
This story is deeply disturbing because the Mr. White could spend some time in prison for defending his family! The view is that he should've ignored the fact that this white mob was going to do his son harm and instead should've called the police. The prosecutor is also stating that since Mr. White shot an unarmed person that he should get the maximum.

The Amadou Diallo and Sean Bell Cases come to my mind where police officers, who had received special training, emptied and reloaded their weapons on unarmed suspects without saying a word. In the Amadou Diallo case, the officers were acquitted of any charges, in spite of the fact that there were bullet holes through the soles of Diallo's feet!

Now citizens are receiving the same kind of scrutiny that rogue police officers should be receiving! Noel Leader, of 100 Blacks in Law Enforcement Who Care (http://www.100blacksinlawenforcement.org)
says that the relationship between district attorneys' offices and police precincts is incestuous. A few assistant district attorneys refused to take the Amadou Diallo case against those 4 white officers in a show of unity.

Now the prosecutors of America want us to abandon our families in a time of need and call the police? What happened to our Allah-given right to defend our life, freedom, and property? By the way, John White is African-American. Will the jury allow racism to rear its ugly head in its deliberations. With the increase in home invasions in this area, you would think the jury would be sympathetic to another person whose family is being threatened right in front of him. It is no secret that white Americans have been so consumed by a misguided belief of their own superiority that they will cut their nose off to spite their own face! There is no logic in racist decision making.

The 1990 Central Park Jogger Rape Case, where 5 innocent black teens were convicted of a crime someone else later confessed to, is an excellent example of how racism and justice don't mix. That case sent a very chilling message: "We don't care who commits the crime, we'll just grab any clueless black person off the street and pin it on him/her." Minister Farrakhan once said that racism hurts everyone, not just black people.
I pray that John White does not have to serve prison term for defending himself and his family. The notion that one should render himself powerless and wait for the police is inconceivable!

Ramsey Clark Says, It's a War on Islam

In an unusual interview with India's The Hindu newspaper, Ramsey Clark, leader of the anti-war movement in America was asked:

"Is the terrorist the U.S. claims to be fighting a Frankenstein of its own creation? "

His answer:

"The war on terrorism is really a war on Islam. Most of the politicians are putting it as Islamic terrorists but what they really mean is the threat of Islam. So the idea of the war on Islam is the idea of extermination of a proportion never seen in history at any time."

War in Pakistan:
December 23, 2007: In Mingora, the capital of Swat, a martyrdom operator drove his car into a Pakistani military convoy and exploded. Four Pakistani troops and 3 civilians working with them were killed, while 13 troops and 10 civilian co-workers were wounded.
Pakistan's military announced that in its operation to drive out Islamic militants from Swat, it killed 300 militants. However, opponents of the regime say that almost all those killed were civilians and that Maulvi Fazlullah's forces withdrew in good order into Dir with their weapons.

December 21, 2007: General Musharraf's veteran, very recently retired, Interior Minister, Sher Pao narrowly escaped a second attempt on his life, this time while he was performing Eid prayers with hundreds of his supporters. Sher Pao, a handsome, healthy man, is known for the services he rendered the U.S. "war on terror" during his years as Musharraf's Interior Minister. But for him, hundreds of suspected terrorists would not have landed in Guantanamo Bay and in the torture chambers of regimes allied to the U.S.
The Pakistani military's assault on the Red Mosque and Jamia Hafsa was supervised by Sher Pao and efficiently put to death several hundred young Islamic women and at least 150 young Islamic men. In the destruction of the Islamic university Sher Pao is said to have assured Musharraf that Islamic Shari'a would never be allowed to flourish in Pakistan's capital Islamabad.
Sher Pao, perhaps inadvertently, challenged the entire tribal belt in northwestern Pakistan by killing numerous young women from Islamic constituencies where minor insults aimed at a woman can lead to outbursts of deadly violence. The Islamic identity of the women targeted by Sher Pao has made him the target of martyrdom operators.
In Pakistan, religion works in strange ways. Sher Pao could assault a mosque and an Islamic university and still consider himself a Muslim. For a feudal lord, certain religious observances are needed so that the peasants should continue to pay fealty to him as a Muslim. He, however, realized that a resurgent Islam has emerged in the mountains which would not consider him a Muslim. To survive revenge attacks, he prayed Eid prayers in a mosque built for him within his compound in the privacy of a village named after him, Sherpao. [The village is not far from the town of Charsadda where in the last elections, Islamists demolished the 50 year old power base of secularists. Sher Pao was leader of the Peoples' Party till he defected to Musharraf. He is very popular with Bush's men but is known as Abu Lahab among Muslims.]
Entry to the Sherpao mosque was strictly controlled by the use of metal detectors. Sher Pao himself was placed in the front row of the Eid prayer gathering and surrounded by police officers as well as intelligence men in civilian clothes to his sides and in the rows behind him. The rest of the mosque was also packed with Sher Pao's supporters.
Somehow the martyrdom operator penetrated the gathering up to the 8th row and set off the detonation. Sher Pao escaped the blast but his son was seriously injured and air lifted to Islamabad. Some of his relatives were among the 200 wounded. At least 48 police officers and intelligence operatives were killed.
The government says it has found the two legs of the assailant but could not find his head. Six men have been arrested from an Islamic medressa, three of them Afghans, but their connection to the attack is not clear.
[The U.S. media did not provide any context for the attack. The British Guardian was the first to mention police casualties. Others followed.]

December 17: Pakistani troops hit by 19 year old Martyrdom operator. At Fawwara Chowk in the military cantonment area of Kohat, Pakistani troops returning from a football game were infiltrated by a mujahid who detonated himself killing at least 10 of the troops and wounding 5. According to the daily Ummat, the martyr was a 19 year old [perhaps 21] and was covering himself with a chadar [cloth sheet]. The powerful explosion was heard far and wide and the army sealed off the entire area.

Algeria: Massive Bombings Shake Regime, Stir Protests from anti-Islamist Powers

December 11, 2007. A twin martyrdom attack in Algeria's capital, Algiers, brought death and destruction to U.N. and government buildings leaving at least 62 killed and 200 wounded. The ferocious bombings could be heard for miles and sent shock waves through the police state which is Algeria. The attacks are seen by most observers as the work of the Salafi movement for Preaching and Jihad which joined AL-Qaidah in the Maghrib and accepted the leadership of Osama bin Laden.
The bombings elicited severe criticism from anti-Islam regimes around the world, in particular the U.S., UK, France, Israel and Libya. Instability in Algeria could hurt the World Bank and France in particular because they have extensive investments in Algeria.
The Algerian regime sits on a history of terrorism which it committed on its populations when they supported Islam. Tens of thousands were machine gunned and crushed by tanks supplied to the Algerian military junta by France. In the next stage, anti-Islam death squads killed thousands of Muslims who had supported voting for the Islamists. Veiled women were killed by the hundreds and the throats of their children were slit. The regime, which controls media, tried to pin the killings on the Islamists. Later, defectors from the regime revealed that the death squads were trained secularist anti-Islam killers.
The seemingly defeated Algerian Islamists seem to have joined Al-Qaidah and are now apparently using Al-Qaidah tactics to hit the veneer of civilization the regime has covered itself with, along with its UN supporters.

"Saudi" ARABIA: About three weeks before the Hajj, the regime arrested 208 Islamist "terrorists." Such a large number of arrests, of indigenous Arabs, in a small population, are ringing alarm bells in Washington. The arrests indicate that the Saudi ruling family is sitting on a volcano of Islamic revolution.
Then on December 23, the Saudis arrested another 28 Islamists, this time with the claim that they wanted to attack the holy sites! Why the followers of Islam would want to do that was not clarified.
The Saudis also claim to have "deprogrammed" several hundred Islamists. They were put in prison for extended periods of time and then released on the premise that they would go on TV and denounce "terrorism." The biggest catch seems to have been the famous preacher Al-Awda.
In any case, with recurring gusts of fear coming from the realization that most people of "Saudi" Arabia support Osama bin Laden, the Saudis and the U.S. are facing a dilemma: How to crush Islam in Arabia without letting the Muslim world realize what was going on.
{Readers might remember how successfully, in 1979, the Saudi rulers portrayed the Islamic uprising of Juhaiman and the students of Madinah as a "fitnah" of renegades.]

ABU HURAIRA, r.a. He narrated Hadith teaching Jihad and supporting Muslim Unity

THE FACTS ABOUT ABU HURAIRA, r.a., beloved STUDENT OF MUHAMMAD, pbuh:
[Ed. note: r.a. = radi Allah unh =Allah be pleased with him.]
[pbuh = peace be on him.]

There can be no doubt that Muhammad Mustafa, the final messenger of Allah, pbuh, loved Abu Huraira, r.a. and in turn Abu Huraira, r.a., loved Muhammad, pbuh, more than anyone or anything in the world.

* Abu Huraira, r.a., along with 70 others from the Banu Dos tribe, embraced Islam and did Hijrah to join forces with Muhammad, pbuh.

* Abu Huraira, r.a., left everything in the world to embrace the Prophet, pbuh. He took his mother and his slave with him on the journey to Madinah leaving everything else behind. When he reached Madinah, he found that the Prophet, pbuh, was in Khaibar, fighting a Jewish tribe.

* Abu Huraira, r.a., joined the Prophet, pbuh, in the final days of the battle at Khaibar, in the 7th year of the Hijrah. His first act on meeting the Prophet, pbuh, was TO FREE HIS SLAVE. Islam teaches the freeing the slaves and Abu Huraira, r.a., started his life with the Prophet, pbuh, by freeing his slave.

*The Prophet, pbuh, took Abu Huraira, r.a., with him on a series of Jihad expeditions immediately after the battle of Khaibar. Some eywitness narrations of these expeditions by Abu Huraira, r.a., are available in Hadith and in early history books.The purpose was to ward off attacks by Jewish and other tribes which were moving to attack the Muslims. For instance there is a narration by Abu Huraira about the expedition of Wadi al-Qurra in Tabari's TARIKH, vol. 3. A very severe expedition was that of Zaat ar-raqa'a. Some details in Bukhari's Sahih indicate that there were only one camel for six mujahideen. They rode by turns and the rough terrain tore up the the feet of the Sahaba. Abu Huraira, r.a., prayed Salatul Khauf with the Prophet, pbuh, on this expedition. [Bukhari's Sahih, vol. 2]

* Abu Huraira, r.a., then took part in major Islamic moves by the Prophet's, pbuh, army, including the CONQUEST of MAKKA, 8 Hijri, BATTLE of HUNAIN,, and in the expedition of TABOOK, 9 Hijri. Tabook was very difficult and required a journey of 350 miles in severe summer weather which challenged the Romans for 20 days and foiled their attack plans. [See Bukhari's Sahih, vol. 2, for Abu Huraira's participation.]

* After these major moves, the Prophet, pbuh, also sent out Abu Huraira, r.a., in smaller raids to stop various threats. On one such occasion, the Prophet, pbuh, said to Abu Huraira, r.a.: "I put you under Allah's Trust and safeguard and He is the one whose Trust is never wasted." [ Sunan of Ibn Maja, vol.2]

* During the Caliphate of Abu Bakr, 'Umar and 'Usman [Allah be pleased with all three], Abu Huraira, r.a., continued to participate in Jihad. One of the HISTORY CHANGING battles in Islamic history was the BATTLE OF YARMOUK which brought down the power of the Roman empire. The historian Ibn Asakir in his Tarikh Damishq writes that the Banu Azd, with its sub group of the Banu Dos, with Abu Huraira, r.a., in its core, was on the RIGHT WING of the Islamic army. The huge Roman army attacked and the outnumbered Muslims would have been wiped out but for the leadership of great companions of the Prophet, pbuh, such as Abu Huraira. Ibn Asakir quotes Abu Huraira, r.a., as he rallied the mujahideen. Abu Huraira said:

"O valiant believers! The hoories of Paradise are awaiting you. Prepare yourself to meet them. Prepare to gain the approach to Allah and to be accepted by Allah. At this time, no place is dearer to Allah than the one where you are standing."

The ferocious Roman onslaught was beaten back. At that point, another 20,000 Romans attacked the small group led by Abu Huraira, r.a. Khalid ibn al-Waleed, r.a., the overall commander of the Islamic army noted the severe pressure on the right wing of his forces. He launched an all out attack on the Romans and routed them. Yarmouk changed the history of the Middle East for ever.
Other historians, Ibn Athir and Ibn Kathir, have noted the participation of Abu Huraira in Jihad as far away as Jilan and Jurjan during the Caliphate of 'Usman, r.a.
This beloved companion of the Prophet, pbuh, is under attack by the sectarians and the Pervezis.

WHY DO SOME PEOPLE HATE ABU HURAIRA, r.a.?

* For the sectarians there seems to be an element of jealousy that Abu Huraira, r.a., came into the Islamic struggle in its final years and equalled, if not surpassed , most companions of the Prophet, pbuh, in many ways, and in particular in the narration of the Prophet's Hadith.

* Abu Huraira, r.a., remained neutral in the conflict between hazrat Ali and Ameer Muawiya as well as in the confrontation between hazrat Ali and 'Ayesha Siddiqa, r.a. Like Hasan, r.a., the elder son of Ali, r.a., Abu Huraira opposed the inter-Muslim conflicts.

* The sectarians believe that hazrat Ali spoke against Abu Huraira, r.a. There is no such evidence. There are a couple of statements attributed to Ali, r.a., against Abu Huraira, but these are fabrications produced much after both Ali and Abu Huraira had passed away.

* In the sectarian attack just distributed the person named ... claims Abu Huraira, r.a., was "hired" by Muawiyya. This is a figment of Awan's imagination. Most modern readers would not know that during the rule of Ameer Muawiyya there was PEACE AND UNITY in the Muslim realm. Imam Hasan had made peace with Ameer Muawiyya and a spirit of cooperation existed among all segments of society.There was no question of anyone "hiring" Abu Huraira, r.a.

WHY ARE THE ANTI-HADITH PEOPLE AGAINST ABU HURAIRA, r.a.?
*For G.A. Pervez and other anti-Hadith self-proclaimed scholars, Abu Huraira, r.a., was a problem because he narrated more Hadith of the Prophet, pbuh., than any other sahabi.

* If Abu Huraira, r.a., could be discredited then a big chunk of Hadith could be discredited.

* The anti-Hadith people are basically dishonest. Although they oppose Hadith and claim that they want the "Qur'an alone," they found some Hadith narrations in which 'Ayesha, r.a., and Umar, r.a., looked critically at a few of Abu Huraira's narrations. These couple of instances of criticism were used by the Pervezis to create the impression that ALL of Abu Huraira's narrations should be suspected.

* The anti-Hadith people then went on to fabricate some stories accusing Abu Huraira's (r.a.) of dishonesty!
