Scroll all the way down
for shocks in Pakistan and India.
THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX:
Islam sees sex between husband and wife as a form of worship
In a world of easy sexual access, fornication, adultery and homosexuality,
Islam can be a saving grace. The Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, taught both men
and women to be modest. He taught: remember Allah when you go to your
husband or wife. Here is a beautiful Hadith on this matter:
"When you go to your spouse, say: In the name of Allah. O Allah save
us from satan and whatever you give us, let not satan harm it."

Sahih of
Bukhari

New Trend Congratulates Indian Muslims and Br. Hodari Abdul Ali [Washington, DC].
Muslims in India organized a huge, historic, disciplined conference
in Bangalore, India on February 17, 2007.
Br. Hodari, a distinguished and outstanding African-American Muslim
known for his defense of Sudan, was the keynote speaker to a crowd
estimated at 50,000 to 60,000. Major Indian newspapers reported on
the event. The Muslims demanded that Bangalore's airport be named
after [shaheed] Tipu Sultan. This is the first major contact between
U.S. Muslims and Indian Muslims. Famous Dalit intellectual Rajshekhar
is also scheduled to meet Br. Hodari. See next issue for more on the
conference.
SMILE: What a pass President Bush has come to. No one is willing
to believe his stories about Iranian intervention in Iraq. First the
White House claimed that Iran was helping the "insurgents," but that
was too far fetched even for Republicans. What! Iran helping the Salafi
al-Qaidah and the Islamized Saddamists? You gotta be kidding! Then the
President shifted his story to: They are helping the Shi'ite militia.
That too seems far fetched. Bush has 150,000 troops there and has
been there for nearly 4 years, killing all and sundry who show the
slightest opposition. Why couldn't he spot the Iranians? Even the
handful of weapons exhibited by the Pentagon were found more than a
year back!
[CNN Prime's clown Glenn Beck is the only one other than Bush who
thinks that Iran is a real threat to the U.S.]
ONE YEAR SURVEY of U.S. TV MEDIA
February 12, 2006 to February 15, 2007
Systematic Effort to Misinform and Mislead the American People
about Iraq War
by New Trend's Research Unit
Over a period of one year New Trend carried out a DAY-by-DAY survey
of America's three cable TV networks: CNN, FOX and MSNBC. These three
are different in substantive ways from the rest of TV media. The
following characteristics make them more effective on political
issues than anything else on TV:
-
All three air around the clock, 24 hours. Thus if one misses a segment
in the morning, it can be viewed at night.
-
All three have considerable slots of time available, up to an hour
minus ads, to discuss topics and issues in some depth, especially
as compared to evening news.
-
The three cover the major political preferences of the American TV
audiences, with FOX blatantly Republican, CNN liberal but in a
professional, sophisticated manner and MSNBC openly pro-Democrat.
[All three do try to have hosts and guests to balance out their bias
but the bias is quite apparent.]
Here are New Trend's findings:
-
CNN, FOX and MSNBC do not give photo coverage to battles in which U.S.
troops are killed or in which U.S. troops kill Iraqi resistance
fighters. There have been extremely few exceptions to these rules.
One was the recent battle in Haifa street [central Baghdad] and the
other was CNN's offering of a resistance video showing the activity
of an Islamic sniper.
-
In the rare occasions when pictures of fighting are shown, visuals of
Iraqi dead, be they civilian or fighters, are not shown. Destructive
attacks by the resistance on U.S. tanks and humvees are not shown.
Two exceptions have been when bits and pieces of resistance videos
were shown. During the first three years of the war, pictures of U.S.
vehicles burning were shown but they included disturbing pictures
of Iraqis, including children, celebrating the destruction of the
Americans. One can speculate that this led to their discontinuation.
-
Results of bombing raids by the U.S. are NEVER shown. The
Lancet study says more than 100,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed
in U.S. aerial bombardment.
-
In the year under survey, pictures of U.S. and U.S.-armed Shi'ite
troops storming their way into Iraqi homes were also discontinued.
Some of the old videos showing the troops breaking into homes and
wandering through bedrooms and living rooms are still shown once
in a while but our records show that these are quite old, repeats.
-
Pictures of U.S. troops in mosques have been completely
discontinued. Readers might remember the CBS coverage of a U.S.
marine cursing and shooting an unarmed Iraqi lying wounded in a
Fallujah mosque. Such material is no longer available and one has
to go to journalist Dahr Jamal and others to find it. Photos of
U.S. troops camping in mosques did come out during the first three
years but are now discontinued completely.
-
The MOST IMPORTANT FINDING of OUR SURVEY is that the U.S. only reports
attacks on SHI'ITES and does not provide any reports of specific
attacks by Shi'ite forces [armed, funded and often led by the U.S.]
on resistance [Sunni] areas or populations. It takes research to find
out that the people being killed by the death squads are Sunnis and
the killers belong to the Interior Ministry [Shi'ite], Al-Hakim's
militias [Shi'ites linked to Iran and STRONGLY supported by the U.S.],
and Al-Sadr's militia [Shi'ites linked to Iran [permitted to act by
the U.S.]
-
As a result, the overall picture one gets is that Shi'ites are victims,
targeted on a daily basis by Sunni terrorists [led by Al-Qaida]. The
supporters of the U.S. do no evil, according to the coverage.
-
The composition of "Iraqi" troops with U.S. forces occupying
resistance-supporting cities is cleverly concealed. Careful research
and the chance remarks of American generals indicates that almost all
of these occupation "Iraqi" troops are Shi'ites along with unknown
numbers of Kurdish "peshmerga" and more recently some [a very few]
Sunni tribes.
-
The media lump the Kurds fighting the U.S. under the general rubric
of "terrorists." Thus there is a complete blackout of Ansar
al-Sunnah and other Kurds in the resistance.
-
The resistance is usually referred to as "insurgents" and/or
"terrorists." These three media desperately try to hide the
popular support "terrorists" would have to have to be able to
keep the military legions of a superpower pinned down for nearly
4 years. The U.S. has a problem finding the al-Qaidah leader Abu
Ayyub al-Masri [recently reported wounded, how did he get away and
get treated?] and Saddam's top Islamic leader Ibrahim al-Douri.
Coverage of these top leaders of the resistance is not available
to the U.S. public.
-
The Lancet report indicates [highlighted in the meeting called
by Kucinich] that Shia-versus-Shia fighting has led to thousands of
deaths in the South of Iraq. There are indications that pro-Iran
Shias are siding with the British army against nationalist Shias.
Again the coverage of the entire world of Iraqi Shi'ism, Kerbala,
Najaf and Basra is rare and spotty.
-
CNN, FOX and MSNBC keep parroting the line of the Bush
administration that Shi'as are the great majority in Iraq. NOT
A SINGLE SOURCE has been provided for this claim. The media keep
repeating this claim. It is evidently bogus with no evidence worth
the name anywhere. In fact the media keep inflating the claim from
the oft repeated 60% Shia, to 75% Shia to one of 80% Shia, and now
back to "great majority."
-
In a major speech, President Bush came down heavily on the Shi'a
side and specifically mentioned the bombing of the Shi'ite shrine
in Samarra as the cause of sectarian war. One would have expected
the media to carry out research on the Samarra shrine and other Shi'a
shrines after the bombing, or at least after the President of the
U.S. gave it so much prominence. Only slowly it came out that the
Samarra shrine is not used by Shi'ites and was locked when it was
bombed. Also, the people of Samarra are Sunnis, not Shi'ites. In a
set pattern after this bombing, 100 Sunni mosques were attacked but
the news of these attacks was rapidly suppressed by the U.S.-installed
"government." Till now the American public does not know if there is
any evidence that any one of the Shi'ite Imams is buried in that shrine.
-
CONCLUSION: The U.S. has failed in Iraq in spite of its military power
and unlimited funding of the occupation. Hence the U.S. is trying to
save face by coming up with two scenarios:
-
"It's a civil war, so let's get out of there." [That's the
liberal-Zionist stance of warmongers who now see that Israel and
its U.S. Jewish supporters may be blamed for the war losses if it
continues.] "We wouldn't have done so poorly, but Iran is involved
and is sending weapons to the insurgents." [This has an element of
ugly humor in it: Iran helping the radical Islamic resistance led
by Al-Qaidah and the Islamized Saddamists! This is not very different
from Bush's pre-invasion 2002-2003 claim that Saddam and al-Qaidah
were linked. They became linked, a little, 2004-2005 owing to the
horrendous carnage caused by the occupation forces.
February 15: Enslaved Germany Gives Five Years in Prison to
Revisionist Ernst Zundel for Thinking:
He was Undermining Israel's Funding Source.
[From New Trend's Editor: German dissidents are facing great odds due
to Thought Control imposed by International Jewry on Germany because
it dared fight the western powers from 1933-1945. New Trend urges
Muslims to realize that by standing against the holocaust story,
the revisionists are fighting our fight against Israel. If there
were freedom of expression, World War II would become part of history,
but by imposing Thought Control the Zionists continue to make money
off the tragedies of war.
Here we present an insight from a non-Muslim writer into the struggle
of Ernst Zundel, the most important European prisoner of the Zionists.
What Canada's Zionists and Germany's slave government have done to him
is beyond all civilized behavior. Remember, these same Germans and
Canadians supported Rushdie's abuse and the cartoons of Prophet
Muhammad, pbuh, on the basis of "freedom of expression."]
Ernst Zundel, a German-born publisher, author and civil rights activist,
is a towering figure in the worldwide Holocaust revisionist movement.
For more than four years he has been held behind bars, first in Canada
and now in Germany, solely for the peaceful expression of
non-conformist views. He is the most prominent political prisoner in
the western world today.
He is the author of countless booklets, newsletters and essays. He is
a prodigious publisher, a one-man public relations firm, and an able
public speaker and organizer. Energetic, tenacious and courageous, he
is dauntless in the struggle against apparently insurmountable odds
and seemingly invincible adversaries.
Ernst Zundel was born on April 24, 1939, in a small town in the
Black Forest region of southwestern Germany. He emigrated to Canada
at the age of 19, where he soon married and became the father of two
sons. His career as a graphic artist was successful, with his work
appearing, for example, on the front cover of Canada's national news
magazine, Maclean's.
Setting aside his thriving career, he dedicated himself to the great
task, as he saw it, of redeeming the sullied reputation of his fellow
Germans. Through his Samisdat publishing house he distributed worldwide
a prodigious quantity of books, booklets, leaflets, newsletters, and
audio and video cassettes. Simon Wiesenthal, the well-known
"Nazi hunter," called Zundel the world's number one distributor of
allegedly dangerous literature and cassettes.
Zundel is probably best known for his central role in the
"Holocaust Trials" of 1985 and 1988. He was brought to court in
Toronto on a charge of "publishing false news," and specifically
for publishing a reprint edition of a booklet entitled Did Six
Million Really Die?.
Zundel's two lengthy trials – the 1985 trial lasted two months, and
the 1988 trial lasted four months – have been the closest thing
anywhere to full scale debates on the Holocaust issue. For the first
time ever, "Holocaust survivors" and Holocaust historians were closely
and critically questioned under oath about their claims and views.
To wage the legal battle that was forced upon him, he brought together
an impressive international team of revisionist scholars, legal
specialists, researchers, and many others. From numerous libraries
and archives in North America and Europe, this group assembled at
"Zundelhaus" one of the most impressive collections of evidence
anywhere on this chapter of history.
Among those who testified on Zundel's behalf in the trials were
Robert Faurisson, David Irving, Mark Weber, William Lindsey, Udo
Walendy, and Bradley Smith. As a result of the two trials, an
enormous quantity of compelling evidence refuting the Holocaust
extermination story was presented to the court and thereby was made
part of the permanent public record. Perhaps the most important of
this evidence was the historic testimony of American gas chamber
expert Fred Leuchter about his on-site forensic examination of the
alleged extermination gas chambers in Poland.
Zundel was found guilty in the 1985 trial, but the verdict was set
aside by the provincial appeals court. It ruled that the judge in
that trial had, among other things, given improper instructions to
the jury, and had improperly excluded defense evidence. In May 1988,
at the conclusion of the second Zundel trial, the jury declared him
guilty. A few days later, he was sentenced to nine months imprisonment.
On appeal, Canada's Supreme Court threw out the conviction, declaring
on August 27, 1992, that the archaic "false news" law under which he
had been convicted was a violation of the country's Charter of Rights.
This was not only a personal vindication by Canada's highest court;
Ernst Zundel secured an important victory for the rights of all
Canadians.
Zundel's next great legal battle was fought out before the Canadian
Human Rights Tribunal in Toronto on charges, instigated by Jewish
groups, of promoting "hatred or contempt" against Jews through the
"Zundelsite" Internet web site (www.zundelsite.org), operated by
Ingrid Rimland from the United States. In this legal action, as
the Tribunal's presiding Commissioner declared, the truth or validity
of the supposedly "hateful" items was not a consideration. (Ultimately
the Tribunal declared the "Zundelsite" to be unlawful, but because
the site is based in the US, the ruling is unenforceable.)
During the 42 years he lived in Canada, Ernst Zundel was never
convicted of a crime. He was, however, repeatedly a victim of violence
and hate. He survived three assassination attempts, including by arson
and pipe bomb. He's also endured years of legal harassment and
repeated jailings.
After more than four decades in Canada, including a failed effort to
acquire Canadian citizenship, he moved to the United States, where
in January 2000 he married Ingrid Rimland.
His wife, a gifted writer and noted author in her own right, was born
in an ethnic German Mennonite community in Ukraine. As a child she
and her family were victims of Soviet rule and the ravages of
World War II. After the war she lived for a time in Paraguay and
Canada, and then for years in California. Ingrid Rimland holds a
doctoral degree in education, and is a naturalized US citizen.
On February 5, 2003, Ernst Zundel was arrested at their quiet home in
the mountain region of eastern Tennessee. He was seized on the pretext
that he had violated immigration regulations, or had missed an
interview date with US immigration authorities, even though he had
entered the US legally, was married to an American citizen, had no
criminal record, and was acting diligently, and in full accord with
the law, to secure status as a permanent legal resident.
After being held for two weeks, he was deported to Canada. For two
years – from mid-February 2003 to March 1, 2005 – he was held in
solitary confinement in the Toronto West Detention Centre, on the
pretext that he is a threat to national security.
His arrest and detention generated wide media attention. A few
Canadian newspapers, including Toronto's prestigious Globe and Mail,
and several independent analysts, acknowledged the injustice of his
incarceration on an empty pretext.
Among those who protested Zundel's unjust treatment was Bill Dunphy,
a veteran investigative journalist and editor for the daily Hamilton
Spectator. He spent six years probing Canada's "white supremacist"
movement, and got to know Zundel personally. Although he has no
sympathy for Zundel's views, in a hard-hitting column (Hamilton
Spectator, May 14, 2003) he told readers:
"Our government has seized and branded Ernst Zundel, stripped him of
his human rights, tried him in secret and found him wanting, and will
now hand him over to a foreign government anxious to throw him in jail...
"... Zundel – who did this country a favour by wiping off the books
our disgraceful False News laws – has never once been convicted of
a criminal offence in this country, never once found to have violated
the hate crime laws that rest snugly around the throat of free
expression in this country.
"Calculating correctly that there was no political cost, no 'down side'
to slipping on the jackboots to kick a reviled old man out of our
country, our government cobbled together their best insults and
innuendo, and Lord knows what secret 'evidence,' and branded Ernst
Zundel a threat to national security.
"I know this man, his local and international contacts and I know
this movement. And after reading the 58-page 'unclassified' summary
of the government's case, I can assure you there is no justice here.
Their 'evidence' is riddled with errors and misinformation, hearsay
and inflammatory innuendo. Dead men walk again, and the shattered bits
of shoddy secret networks long since collapsed under the weight of
their own ineptitude are made whole and menacing once again. It is
a shameful piece of dishonest, unreliable tripe."
The Canadian Association for Free Expression (CAFE), a free speech
advocacy group, fought for Zundel's release. "Mr. Zundel is quite
literally a political prisoner," said CAFE director Paul Fromm, who
also served as Zundel's legal representative in his detention hearings.
"He is being held in solitary confinement solely for the non-violent
expression of his political views."
The allegation that Zundel might be a threat to national security "is
mischievous nonsense," said Fromm. "Zundel has been politically active
in Canada for 40 years. He's a public figure. His writings and
speeches are available on-line. He's been investigated for years by
the police. He's an open book. Zundel has never advocated or practised
violence, nor have his followers," Fromm added. "He's a pacifist and
a publisher."
Zundel was held in Canada not because his views are unpopular, or
because he was a "security risk." He was in prison there because
Jewish groups wanted him there, and because he promoted views that
the Jewish-Zionist lobby considers harmful to its interests.
This lobby is the decisive, critical factor in the decades-old
campaign to silence him. The only sustained and institutionalized
effort to imprison Zundel has come from this lobby, which includes
the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Canadian Jewish Congress, the
Canadian Holocaust Remembrance Association, and the League for
Human Rights of B'nai B'rith (with the Anti-Defamation League,
its counterpart in the US).
On March 1, 2005, Zundel was deported to Germany, just as Jewish
groups had been demanding. Since then he has been held in the
Mannheim prison were he faces years of imprisonment for the
"thought crime" of "denying the Holocaust." ("Holocaust denial"
is against the law in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and
some other European countries.)
On June 29, 2005, the public prosecutor in Mannheim formally charged
Zundel with inciting "hatred" by having written or distributed texts
that "approve, deny or play down" genocidal actions carried out by
Germany's wartime regime, and which "denigrate the memory of the
[Jewish] dead. The first and foremost of the writings cited in the
indictment are texts posted on the "Zundelsite" website, which is
registered and maintained by his wife in the United States, where
all such writings are entirely legal.
Zundel's three-month trial concluded on February 15, 2007, when a court
in Mannheim sentenced him to five years imprisonment for the crime of
"popular incitement" under Germany's notorious "Holocaust denial"
statute. The 14 specific violations cited by the court included
postings on the US-based "Zundelsite" website. The court thus
upheld claims by German authorities to punish individuals for
writings that are legal in the country where they are published.
Jewish groups quickly, and predictably, expressed approval of
the verdict.
In recent years, growing numbers of scholars, intellectuals and
newspapers in Europe and other countries have condemned the laws
in some European countries under which Zundel and others have been
imprisoned, fined and forced into exile for expressing skeptical
views on "the Holocaust." These laws, critics point out, are
selective, hypocritical and violate basic principles of free
speech and free expression.
Ernst Zundel, who sometimes describes himself as a "Swabian peasant,"
is an outgoing, good-humored man who is blessed with a rare
combination of unflagging optimism and practical ability. He
maintains this infectious spirit even under very trying conditions.
He is an unusually alert and sensitive individual with a keen
understanding of human nature. He knows how to persuade, cajole
and encourage others to give their best for the greater good. He
inspires confidence, loyalty and affection.
Of this remarkable man, Robert Faurisson wrote in 1988: "Zundel may
once again go to prison for his research and beliefs or be threatened
with deportation. All this is possible. Anything may happen when there
is an intellectual crisis and a realignment of historical concepts of
such a dimension. Revisionism is the great intellectual adventure of
the end of this century. Whatever happens, Ernst Zundel is already
the victor."
For more about Ernst Zundel, the injustice against him, and the
worldwide campaign to secure his freedom, see the Zundelsite

Letter: Against Cutting off Relations with Jews
Cutting off relations?
Aren't you stretching a point?:
New Trend wrote: " Cut off relations with AMERICAN JEWS who support
Israel. Remember that almost all American Jews support the usurpation
of Palestine under the name of "israel." You might have a doctor,
a Jewish friend, or a professor etc who is very good to you but
helps Israel. Remember that support for TERRORISM, which is integral
to Israel, is a violation of your innermost being as a human being.
When an American Jew opposes Israeli atrocities, that does not mean
that he/she opposes Israel. These "good Jews" want Israel to hang on
to the land it usurped at any cost."
If your relationship benefits your interest. Then it should be
retained. The Prophet bought weapons from his enemies. Don't cut
your nose to spite your face.
"Interfaith dialogue".
Not everyone is a crook. There are plenty of naive people who can
have their opinions changed.
One of the benefits of this society is that there are opportunities
for dialogue, whilst they are there they should be used. Muslims aren't
so significant that if they don't turn up for dialogue anyone will
care. What's important is that we are not dishonest and stand up for
justice. I'm quite sure the Prophet didn't boycott all Jews, just
the tribe that betrayed him. Unless you have some proof to the
contrary?

Shoaib [England]
WAR NEWS: [From the Urdu language newspapers.]

Musharraf Closes down Major Islamic Charities on Orders from UN:
The Musharraf regime conducted heavily armed raids on the offices of
Pakistan's biggest Islamic charities Al-Rashhed Trust and Al-Akhtar
Trust. The police sealed 28 offices of the two charities, 7 of them
in Karachi, others in Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Multan,
Muzaffarabad, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. More than
2,000 people working for these charities are now unemployed. The lives
of tens of thousands of widows and orphans will be affected. According
to Nawa-e-Waqt newspaper, the raids were in compliance with
UN Security Council's resolution number 1267. [February 19]
IRAN: Conflict with Islamists in Zahedan Area Comes out Openly
On February 14, a bomb explosion hit an Iranian lorry carrying
paramilitary forces, killing 11 and wounding 30. Responsibility was
taken, according to Pakistani papers, by Jundullah [the "Army of Allah"]
which claimed that it had taken revenge for the arbitrary executions of
6 of its members.
On February 16, it appears that Islamists tried to take over Zahedan.
There was a big explosion and clashes between Islamists and Iranians.
Electricity to the city was cut off. Iranian forces sealed off the
entire area and announced the arrest of 65 people. On February 19,
one of the Islamists was hanged in the public square to terrorize
the population.
In a surprise move, Iran called in the Pakistani ambassador to Tehran.
The Iranians are claiming that the Jundullah "bandits" come in from
Pakistan. Zahedan is not far from the Pakistani border.
Also, on February 17, Iranian troops opened fire on Pakistanis in the
Panjgur border area, killing 2. The bodies of the two were brought
into Pakistan and buried in the village of Prom with a big and tense
crowd of mourners.
AFGHANISTAN: NATO PUTS OFF CHANCES OF VICTORY TO 2009
-
In a major speech on Afghanistan, Feb. 15, President Bush declared
his will to win and the dispatch of reinforcements to help crush
the Taliban.
-
Canada is losing in Afghanistan and announced that it will have to
withdraw its troops unless other NATO countries send reinforcements.
After initial big claims of victory, the Canadians haven't moved for
two months and are terrified of martyrdom operators.
-
After three weeks, Taliban are still in control of Musa Qala
[Helmand province] in spite of NATO air raids. Taliban fighters
have hemmed in British troops at a hydroelectric dam which the
British were using to supply electricity to their military camp.
NATO claims to have killed 15 Taliban and a local Taliban commander.
-
An American Chinook helicopter went down in Zabul province. Eight
U.S. troops were killed, 14 wounded. The U.S. says it was mechanical
failure. Taliban told Pakistani media they shot it down with a hand
held missile. The weather was good and the helicopter went down
suddenly according to all accounts.
-
NATO Supreme commander Joop de Joop admitted early in February that
there is no immediate chance of victory against the Taliban. If NATO
does not falter, he promised victory in 2009.
KASHMIR: Torture and murder of Kashmiri people by the Indian occupiers
has reached such dimensions that on February 16, the International
Red Cross formally asked India to permit it to visit India's
interrogation centers where Kashmiri prisoners are kept.
The same day there were strikes and protests by traders who want India
to reveal the whereabouts of MISSING PERSONS who have disappeared
after being brought to Indian interrogation centers.
Also on February 16, Indian troops and and a Hizbul Mujahideen unit
clashed for five hours. Five Indian troops and two of the Hizb's
activists were killed. Three Kashmiri children were killed by an
Indian artillery shell.
TRAIN BLOWN UP: On February 18-19 night, Samjhota Express, the
train between India and Pakistan, was blown up near Panipat,
50 miles north of New Delhi. Late reports indicate 67 people
killed, more than 80 injured. It's not clear at this point if
the explosions are connected to Kashmir-related violence or aimed
at the Musharraf-India entente.
