PRESIDENT SADDAM HUSSEIN SENTENCED TO DEATH:
Show Trial was a total Farce
by Imam Badi Ali, Greensboro, North Carolina
On November 5, 2006 a puppet "court" set up by the occupation forces
in Baghdad, Iraq sentenced the President of Iraq to death for actions
he had taken against armed rebels who were trying to kill him at the
behest of a foreign power. Surely, the acceptance of martyrdom by
President Saddam is much nobler than the miserable life of
America's slaves like Egypt's Hosni Mubarak and king
Abdullah of Jordan.
[Ramsey Clark, leader of the anti-war movement in America, told
New Trend only a couple of days before the death sentence that the
trial is a show trial and a total farce carried out by the enemies
of Saddam HUSSEIN. There is no legitimacy in this entire process,
he said. The U.S. is committing crimes in Iraq which overshadow
anything Saddam allegedly did.]
[New Trend notes two items: The timing of the verdict, just before
the November 7 elections in the U.S. was meant to give a boost to
the Republicans. Secondly, just about EVERY Jewish-Zionist speaker,
writer, scholar, politician, teacher, "activist," you name it,
spoke against and condemned Saddam HUSSEIN much before his trial.
His real 'fault' was that he supported Palestinian martyrs' families.
He stood up to America. The U.S. tried to kill him 33 times and failed.
Finally 'Shock and Awe' was tried and Saddam still survived. Instead,
he went underground and resisted the American forces for 9 months. He
was captured by deceit and treachery.]
{Saddam's final words after the death sentence were: "You are a puppet
of the occupation forces," [to the judge]. "Down with the occupiers."
Resistance!" "Long live united Iraq." "Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar,
Allahu Akbar."}
Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Shoora
Milwaukee, Wisconsin
November 3-4, 2006
Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Shoora members got a great welcome from
prominent leaders of the Turkish-American community in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin. Turkish Muslims are known for their hospitality and
generosity but even by those standards, the welcome, practical
help and support they gave to the Shoora was amazing.
The series of events in Milwaukee can be summed up under four items:
-
November 3: Juma' khutba by Dr. Kaukab Siddique at a masjid
in northern Milwaukee, known as the "Da'wa Center." The masjid was
packed with worshippers, mostly African-American, Turkish, Somali
and Indo-Pakistani. Dr. Siddique was introduced by Dr. Waheeduddin.
After the prayers, the speaker met with members of the audience,
including very young new Muslims, for an hour, and then shared a
delicious meal served by the Deli in the Center.
-
November 3. Extensive visit to the Esperanza (Hope) Center in the
center of the city to see how economic reform activity can be carried
out to help the poor and the downtrodden.
[A separate report will be published on this huge project which
has brought about Hispanic-Muslim unity in Milwaukee.]
-
November 4. The Shoora meeting lasted all day from 9.00 AM to 5.30 PM
with breaks for lunch and salat. Presentations were made by
Sis. Ashira from Maryland, Br. Suleyman Kurter from
Milwaukee, Br. Solano from Texas and Br. Abu Talib
from New York. The meeting was chaired by Br. Kaukab.
-
[Jamaat al-Muslimeen would like to thank Dr. Fethullah for
facilitating the meeting in a Turkish Cultural Center which projects
the Turkish Islamic renaissance as taught by Shaikh Badiuzzaman
Nursi, the founder of the Turkish Islamic movement.]
-
November 4, 6.30 to 8.30 PM. Open study circle and dinner with the
local Muslim community, with men addressed by Br. Kaukab and
Br. Suleyman Kurter, and women addressed separately by
Sis. Ashira and Sis. Hawwa Kurter.
Resolutions Reflect Basic Issues Facing the Muslims of America
Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Shoora Passed the Following Resolutions
for support by the Muslims of America:
#1. USA should withdraw ALL its military presence from Iraq
and Afghanistan because there is no threat from these countries
to the USA and because continued U.S. military presence is causing
great losses in men and material to both the U.S. and Iraq.
Continued military presence is not furthering the cause either
of democracy or of Islam.
#2. U.S. Muslims must unite to oppose the oppression which is
being imposed on the U.S. Muslim ummah by the U.S. government.
The Muslims are ONE Ummah and the suffering and loss of one is the
suffering and loss of all.
#3. All Muslims and Americans in general should oppose and endeavor
to stop the culture of drugs, crime and prostitution of women which
has become common place on the media. We see a deliberate and
systematic attempt being made by the media to undermine the
basic sexual and social mores of humanity.
#4. We call on the U.S. government to FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS.
The Jamaat pinpoints the cases of Imam Jamil al-Amin, Dr. Omar
'Abdel Rahman, Prof. Sami al-Arian, Imam Siddique Abdullah Hasan,
Ahmed 'Abdel Sattar, Masaud Khan, Jose Padilla, Dr. Ali al-Timimi,
Imam Warith Deen Umar, Dr. Kifah al-Jayyousi, Prof. Abdelhalim Ashqar
and others. They have been arrested, harassed, imprisoned and, in some
cases, given long sentences, though none of them were proven to have
committed any violence against individuals or plots to overthrow the
U.S. government.
#5. We welcome the Latinos and Latinas who have come to the US. We
oppose all attempts to stop immigration and we condemn the setting up
of walls and the use of coercive measures on the Mexican-American
borders. This country belongs to Allah and hence to humanity,
not to any one race or ruling class.
#6. OVERSEAS. Palestine is the MOST important and central issue.
We condemn the ongoing Israeli terrorism against the Palestinian
people. We urge the people of the world in general and the Muslim
world in particular to condemn Israel and to support Palestine.
#7. OVERSEAS. We condemn the bombing of the PAKISTANI Islamic
school in which 80 people, mostly children, were killed in a
joint U.S.-Pakistani military operation. This was a crime against
humanity and those responsible for the mass murder, both Pakistani
and U.S., must be brought to trial as soon as soon as possible for
capital crimes.
#8. OVERSEAS. We urge Austria and Germany to release David Irving,
Germar Rudolf and Ernest Zundel, the three holocaust deniers who
are being held in prison. We see shades of the Spanish Inquisition
that scholars and researchers are being held in prison for writings
critical of the Jewish version of World War II. There is no
holocaust museum for African slaves and Native Americans in
memory of atrocities which went on for 400 years while Israel is
being rewarded for 6 years of crimes against Jews. No reparations
are being made to African-Americans and "Red" Indians while
billions have been paid [and are being paid] to Israel for 6
years of war. This double standard must stop.
AHMED 'ABDEL SATTAR BEING DENIED ALL CONTACTS with HIS FAMILY.
Please write letters of protest URGENTLY to these addresses asking
that Ahmed be given the rights which are the due of all prisoners
all over the world:
