RUSHDIE Unchained: 90 Minute Rant Full of Hate & Abuse Against Islam:

October 28, 2006: C-Span Book-TV lent free rein to its campaign against Islam by giving 90 minutes to Salman Rushdie to attack Islam. Actually Rushdie had spoken to a New York audience [guess who those would be?] on October 11 and there was no pressing reason for C-Span to air it now.

Rushdie had a field day. He abused and insulted Islam in detail and in retail. He condemned the Qur'an, insulted the Prophet, pbuh, made fun of Islamic prayers, attacked the dress of Muslim women [the "veil"], ridiculed Islamic protests against the cartoons and against the Pope. You name it, he said it. It was shallow, cheap and frivolous.

Canada's Victim: Momin Khawaja: After 2 Years 7 months in Prison ....

October 24, 2006: Mohammed Momin Khawaja, illustrious son of an illustrious Pakistani family, was arrested in March 2004, the first victim of Canada's Anti-Terrorism Act. The Canadians have been working hard to manufacture a case against him but after 2 years and 7 months, a Canadian judge struck down a clause in the law because, he said, it violates the country's bill of rights.

But, incredibly, Momin continues to be held in prison to face 7 charges related to terrorism. [Source: Associated Press.] His attorney says that he will call on the Supreme Court to drop the charges against his client.

It's not clear how Canada concocted this case. Momin is an expert in cell phone technology. He has an Islamic beard. He allegedly met British Muslims, might have expressed anger on British atrocities against Muslims. Put that together and, lo and behold, you have a "terrorist." Such is the hatred of Islam in the Zionist-influenced Canadian government, that for 2 years 7 months, an innocent is held in prison before the first significant hearing takes place. Canada's rulers are outdoing military dictatorships in their persecution of their own citizens.

Ayn Rand Institute: Major Jewish Propaganda outlet Displayed Cartoons of the blessed Prophet Muhammad, pbuh

On October 23, 2006 a representative of the Ayn Rand Institute came on WBAL Radio [AM] Ron Smith Show to claim that America has not been harsh enough on Islam. Ayn Rand's Institute, he said, proudly displayed the cartoons of Prophet Muhammad [pbuh] which were produced in Denmark. Ayn Rand is sorry to see that U.S. media censored themselves and did not publish the cartoons, the man said.

New Trend's editor called WBAL to protest but by that time Ron Smith had switched to a different issue. However, a strong protest was lodged with the producer of the show.

New Trend readers might remember that last year Ayn Rand's representative came on the O'Reilly Show [Fox TV] to say that the mosques of the Muslim around the world should be destroyed and Muslim cities should be reduced to rubble.

Ayn Rand Institute is located in Irvine, California. Its web site shows that it is a Jewish organization linked to a Jewish philosopher Ayn Rand's books. It claims to believe in "objective reality" and is a staunch supporter of Israel. In fact it blatantly proclaims that there cannot be any "moral equivalence" between Israel and the Muslim resistance because israel is a democracy and Muslims are against democracy. [Ayn Rand is such a liar! It ignores the reality, that all the dictators are linked to Israel. Democratic victories by Hamas and the Algerian Islamists are seen as major threats by the Jews.]

America's Jews by and large support Israel in its usurpation of Palestine and its "right to defend itself," which in plain language means Israel's "right" to destroy Islamic resistance even if it entails the destruction of all of Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan and Sudan.

Do you still have Jewish friends, doctors, professors, businessmen? Most likely they support Israel. Unknowingly you might be helping the terror entity known as "Israel" to attack Islam. The hatred Ayn Rand Institute advocates in the name of "free press", displaying cartoons of Prophet Muhammad, pbuh, is an objective reality. Pamela Constable Eating Humble Pie: Admits Total Surprise at Taliban Resurgence

October 25, 2006: Well known Washington Post correspondent Pamela Constable said about the re-emergence of the Taliban: "No one knew it was happening." She admitted total surprise and added that it is true: Taliban have established "strong beach heads" in southern Afghanistan. She said, NATO admits that Taliban attacks have gone up by 300%. 'Travel is dangerous" in Afghanistan, she added ruefully. From her long talk it emerged that the U.S. tried to create westernized media to counter the lone Shariat radio of the Islamic forces.

Ms. Constable was speaking at a seminar on Afghanistan which was aired on C-Span. She has spent many years denigrating Islamic movements both in Pakistan and Afghanistan. She particularly despises the Taliban and thought that America's B-52s and "daisy cutters" had wiped out the sons of Islam. She is embarrassed because she is out of touch with history.

[Unfortunately Ms. Constable does not read New Trend otherwise she would have seen that we traced the return of the Taliban more than a year back.]

Ms. Constable looked crestfallen but she has not given up her crusade against Islamic forces. She now claims that the "new" Taliban are linked to "drug traffickers" though the old ones destroyed drug trade.

Bush Praises Islam: Gives Eid Greetings to Muslims: Hosni and King Abdulla "Pray" on Eid

However media savvy New Trend readers might be they will find this difficult to believe: George Bush proclaimed Eid al-Fitr greetings to the Muslims of the world. Bush added that Islam is a great religion which negates race and ethnicity. This "beautiful" message was published on the front page by secularized Urdu language newspapers in the U.S.

Bush is out of touch. He has never met a real Muslim. None of the CAIR-WD type Muslims he meets have the guts to tell him that the world of Islam, globally, considers him terrorist # 1. Most Muslims, even the scared Muslims of America, see him as a mass murderer, torturer and liar.

[Editorial note: Either Bush is out of touch or he considers America's Muslims complete idiots who will fall for anything.]

Also, on October 24 [incidentally the correct date] Hosni Mubarak joined Eid prayers in Cairo and King Abdulla [Jordan's play boy] in Amman. In both places, the khateebs urged Muslims to be "moderate." Both rulers are documented by human rights organizations to be carrying our random arrests and torture of opponents "suspected" of being true Muslims.

The sermon at Al-Azhar, where dictator Hosni attended was given by Shaikh Tantawi who has a certificate from al-Azhar, the oldest university in Africa. Hosni Mubarak has successfully undermined the Islamic authenticity of this university to the extent that the Grand Shaikh will tolerate the presence of the Pharaoh in his prayer gathering and offered a sermon to please the ruler and the ruler's U.S-Israeli protectors.

There was a time when Shaikh Omar'Abdel Rahman got his Ph.D from al-Azhar. His dissertation was on Jihad. His research on the Qur'an and the Hadith laid the ideological groundwork for the jihad movements now active in Muslim countries. The Shaikh, blind and unwell, is in a cell in America's gulag and the Shaikh of Al-Azhar, Tantawi, pretends not to remember him.

America's Muslims working for an "American Islam:" Three "Leaders" Acclaimed by non-Muslim "Authority"

September 28, 2006 [repeated on October 22] C-Span Book TV. Genieve Abdo spoke about her book Mecca and Main Street: Muslim Life in America after 9.11. She was full of joy to note that the American version of "Islam" ["moderate" Islam] is finally taking shape. For this welcome development, she gave most credit to two groups:

ISNA and particularly Dr. Ingrid Mattson.
Zaytuna Institute [northern California] and in particular Hamza Yusuf and Zaid Shakir

Looks like she went to the ISNA convention and met Ingrid Mattson; also she seemed quite infatuated with Zaid Shakir and showed his portrait as if he is a sage.

As for the rest of America's 9 million Muslims, she was quite ignorant. Are there Muslims in America who oppose Bush's wish list for Islam as exhibited by Mattson, Yusuf and Shakir? Here Abdo was fuzzy. Perhaps there are a few "fundamentalists," she said, but these are very few indeed. These "fundamentalists," she gushed, have been left by the wayside as the tide of "moderate Islam" moves on!

[Editor's comments: Abdo's "research" is undercut by two important factors: Firstly those Muslims in USA who reject "American Islam" will not speak for the record for fear of persecution. However, the words of Imam Jamil al-Amin and Imam Warith Deen Umar, and the tremendous reception they are getting, show that rejection of "American Islam" is deep in U.S. Muslim thinking.

Jamaat al-Muslimeen's Shoora is outspoken on these issues. Be it Imam Badi Ali or Prof. Suleyman Kurter, Sis. Karen English or Br. Solano they know Islamic authenticity and are not fooled by the likes of Mattson, Yusuf and Shakir.]

Most importantly, Abdo did not realize that the majority of Muslims in America have been struck by the oppression meted out by the U.S. government. Guess whose side they'll be on? Be it Ahmed Abdel Sattar in New York or Masaud Khan and the Virginia innocents, Dr. Ali al-Timimi or Dr. Abdelhalim Ashqar, or the Yemenis in Lackawanna, New York, Dr. Rafil in upstate New York, or Prof. Sami al-Arian, or Dr. Kifah al-Jayyousi, or the Haitians in Florida, or the African Americans in Seattle, or Jose Padilla , would they subscribe to the mickey mouse religion of Mattson, Yusuf and Shakir? Would their families?

What about the tens of thousands of young Americans [many of them African-Americans] who have embraced Islam in prison? Would they accept the "American Islam" of Mattson, Yusuf and Shakir or would they go for the "fundamentalist" Islam of the Qur'an and the authentic Hadith? Check it out!

Letter: Re: Iraq Drips Blood: Not Shia hit Squads but U.S.-Instigated Death Squads

Remember, we're the folks who used the atomic bomb. Blowing up a few mosques would be a trifling thing for our conscience to resolve compared to leveling whole cities, which, incidentally, our leaders feel no need to atone for (In fact, we wouldn't need to wrestle with our conscience at all; we could leave it to the Israelis, plenty of whom can pass for Arabs and have no qualms about killing Arabs indiscriminately).

I have no evidence to support my contention, but then I haven't heard much evidence supporting the "sectarian violence" theory either. A bomb goes off in a Sunni neighborhood and our media blames the Shia; a bomb goes off in a Shia neighborhood and our media blames the Sunni (last week they even managed to attribute a bomb which went off in a mixed neighborhood to "sectarian violence"!). Yet, the perpetrators seem never to be caught or even claim responsibility? The only concrete evidence of who's behind all the killing I've heard is the recent revelations about death squads within the Iraqi security apparatus. No doubt these are primarily composed of Shia as it would fit our plan to promote sectarian rivalries by favoring Shia, but the relevant point is not that they are Shia but that they are part of the occupation regime. And who has ultimate authority over the occupation regime?

I'm not saying there is nothing to the notion of a Sunni/Shia rivalry. The Iraqis would have to be angels for there not to be, especially under the circumstances in which they find themselves. I'm just suggesting that it's not the determining factor. So, are you simply parroting our media or do you have some insight into what's happening in Iraq and our media has, in an unprecedented scoop, actually got it right in this case?

Editorial Response : U.S.-Instigated Shia-hit-Squads

As always, you raise really good points.

The corporate media and the Pentagon were fixated on the potential/possibility/threat of sectarian war between Shia and Sunni long before the current Iraqi-on-Iraqi bloodbath, despite centuries of peaceful Iraqi Shia-Sunni coexistence. How would the White House and the Pentagon reach such a conclusion, unless it was part of the war plan? Mightn't an occupying power, desperate enough to "buy" Iraqi newspaper editors to disseminate Pentagon propaganda and create their desired reality on the ground, also fan rivalries amongst a long suffering population--with scarcely a family unscathed by casualties--to achieve the desired sectarian war? I am not one to believe in conspiracy theories, but creating/fanning enmity amongst resistance movements is the forte of U.S. intelligence, as the internecine murders of BPP and NOI members in the U.S. attest. And I would be very surprised if COINTELPRO/COINTELPRO-like activities are limited to U.S. soil.

The unfortunate truth is that religious and ethnic minorities, like the Hazara in Afghanistan, the Baha'i in Iran, Ahmadiyyas in Pakistan have always been exploited by imperialist powers in the divide-and-conquer game. The question is: Are Iraqi Shia--although not a minority--being exploited similarly by the Imperialists?

I think the NT has made clear that the Occupying Power is responsible for the activities of the hit squads. But perhaps the phraseology to which you object might also be qualified to reflect imperialist complicity, e.g., "U.S.-instigated-Shia-hit-squads."

Could you support your above statement from the Quran!? Look, what God Almighty says about Mary, mother of Jesus:

[3:42] The angels said, "O Mary, GOD has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you from all the women.

Definitely Allah says in the Qur'an that Mary, peace be on her, was chosen above or from all women. Similarly, the Qur'an mentions the unique miracles given to Jesus, pbuh. Also about Abraham, pbuh, the Qur'an says: "Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah..." [16:120]

However these are reports on the great people Allah sent to guide mankind. This is the history of Allah's manifestation of his power and excellence to human beings. However history does not displace the leadership and Guidance of Muhammad, pbuh, and 'Ayesha, r.a. We cannot follow the example of Mary [Maryam], pbuh, or Jesus, pbuh, or Abraham, pbuh, except to the extent these can be seen in Muhammad, pbuh, and Ayesha, r.a., and the Sahabah, r.a., of the Prophet, pbuh. We do not have the details of the lives of Mary, Jesus, and Abraham, pbuh, to be able to follow them.

The Sharia is that of Muhammad, pbuh, not of any before him, and of his beloved wife and his Companions.

Please look carefully at my article. It mentions the revelations Allah sent to honor 'Ayesha, r.a. The Hadith literature shows that these revelations are part of the blessings of Ayesha, r.a. In case you missed the references in the Qur'an, here they are again: [See below**]

Finally, remember this verse of the Qur'an which is in one of the final suras in the Qur'an. Think about it. Do not deny the importance of 'Ayesha, r.a. and the other wives of the Prophet, pbuh, otherwise you will miss the central vision of Islam, which is that of men and women working together for a just world:

"The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves and his wives are [as] their mothers." [The Qur'an 33:6]

So, learn to respect and honor the Mother of the Believers, Ayesha, r.a., in whose lap the Prophet, pbuh, preferred to die above the company of all others.
